What weapon mods in CS affect damage?

I'm looking at my fully upgraded sniper AK74, and it's got a slightly higher damage value than the AS Val.

I compared the effectiveness of my weapon by shooting an exo monolith in the Army Warehouses using single fire mode on both weapons.

It took 4 shots single fire (AK) vs 2 shots single fire (AS Val).

Not really a terrible tradeoff.

And considering most of my combat happens <100m, the AK doesn't look half bad to bring into late game.

Clear Sky had the PDA subtitles, which was an okay substitute, but stilll not perfect.

I just wanted to listen to the game in Russian with subtitles on.
