Remember, game releases on gamepass on day one, that's a good advertisement on its own, a lot of gamers will try it and if the game is good, they will buy it. Also, this release window is not rich on new games, so S2 will not have to stand on a tight competition.

There are a lot of ways to promote the game. Some games had almost non-existent pr campaign, yet they become massive hits. Stalker has relatively small fan community comparing to other franchises like Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Call of Duty. In such case you either spend tons of money on promotion, or you rely on the game itself do the talking. Because internet community today can make good game go "viral" in a blink of an eye. And I think this is what will happen to Stalker 2. GSC doesn't have lots of cash on a traditional big PR campaign. So maybe they are trying to concentrate on polishing the game, making it masterpiece. And after release, game will start advertise itself. People will talk about it, there will be tons of videos "Hey check out this new impressive UNREAL ENGINE 5 GAME!!!", and since Stalker has really one of a kind gamesetting, lots of gamers will be interested. S2 may not become an instant hit in sales right after release, but by the end of the year it will be one of the bestselling games.

the few games i can think of that had extreme short lived or non existent marketin that were still successes were either indies like lethal company or AA games like hi-fi rush which was shadow dropped at the xbox direct, stalker 2 is a AAA game.

don’t really think GSC would just leave it to chance in terms of promotin the game, it’s not like they haven’t done anything these past few months from the world tour of the demo that started at gamescom.

GSC wants people to know of the game, i don’t think they would just leave it up to the internet to do a viral moment in order to do the final marketin push.

I can remember Valheim, and some other indie games. Yeah, Stalker is AAA, but i don't thing its budget is comparable with other AAA games. I'm not saying GSC will not promote the game, I'm just saying, PR campaign doesn't have to look like PR campaign of, for example, Starfield (doesn't look like it helped it anyway).

If we're talking about the realism then many things simply aren't realistic. You got a place full of anomalies, artifacts, mutants, different complex devices and weapons (like Gauss) but mutants abilities is where you draw the line?

Why did you mention Gauss? It's an actual working weapon. The only difference is, for it to be effective, you need to have a massive power source, so right now its impossible to build usable prototype. In Staker there is workaround, it works on artifacts energy.

After all some of the cut stuff that was meant to be canon but couldn't be implemented looks to be coming into S2... just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it's not canon. GSC will ultimately decide what they want to keep and alter for the game, they won't have such harsh engine limitations this time round.
Cool to see the cat mutant coming back from SoC and supposedly the generators because they are on the promotional art of Clear Sky and a tester said they are one of the loading screens for S2, in game they are stated to be beyond the CNPP and not at the CNPP. Getting out isn't that hard. Especially after you've been in the zone for a bit and made a nice profit and contacts. Heck the military is pretty corrupt anyway so you could probably just walk up to the checkpoint. Slip them some money and pinky promise to never come back

They probably have reasons for it i.e. wanted on the outside. People enter the zone by hopping a fence. They can leave by doing the same thing

There are loners that hop in the zone. Stick around for a day or two to make some money artifact hunting. Get out. And repeat the cycle when their wallets get empty

But what control over the zone means? Sure you can just surround it with high walls and don't let anyone in. But then again you still need someone to hunt for the artifacts. Yes, you can rely simply on scientists, military personnel etc. But you have to pay them regularly, pay for their medical insurance, for their funeral etc. While stalkers are... Expandable meat. You don't have to pay them, only for artifacts they have found. Also you can sell them gear and stuff and profit of them.

I mean that doesn't necessarily change the fact that some can't leave the Zone even if they wanted/want to. Wolf said that he thinks about leaving the Cordon but can't since many things happen

I swear I've heard of some stalkers talking about other ways in and out of the zone. They are dangerous because of anomalies, but no problem for veteran stalkers.
