Yeah I once considered it, not anymore.

I'm not gonna preorder this game whatsoever after the lack of effort shown once again to make it shine to an online audience of over 800k people, the amount of viewers during the TGA hours ago. Golden opportunity was present. Yet ignored. What for, we can only speculate for days. Is it worth it? Dunno

This is intolerable, masochistic, harmful to the company's image and its audience of millions of faithful fans who want to support GSC Game World but GSC Game World doesn't want to support them. No single incentive indicates such desire.

It's sad to see a company like GSC be controlled by people who think they are bigger than their customers. No, let me tell you a simple fact, it doesn't take a genuis to get to such a conclusion - business is founded on customers, customers are the most important asset for any public operating company, no matter the field it works within.

Obviously we, the fans, are considered walking wallets whose only purpose is to funnel money at some bank account and by doing so, investing money and contributing, driving the whole project to success, we don't deserve to see how the project itself takes shape throughout the stages of development. More so, STALKER 2 has been officially told by the CEO, Evgeniy Grygorovych, in a video to PC Gamer from days ago, to be past the final stage of development, thus one has to communicate with the fans how things go from now on. No, as per usual, GSC again acts like it's no big deal and pretends nothing else besides the company's intial goals matter - win big and go home. Why communicate stuff with anyone when the trusty fans will throw money at the screen... just like that. Too much energy to spend to keep us posted on whatever.

As a final word, I'd like to state the obvious again.

Without the fanbase, GSC Game World is, plain and simple, a fancy building with no interiors. Very fitting metaphor.

I feel your frustration. TGA was a missed opportunity! Q1 2024 starts in less than a month, they need all eyes on their game. They need to ramp up marketing too! The Strider trailer was a big nothing burger. We need a proper gameplay overview demonstrating the AI, mission structure, trading system etc. The next trailer has to end with a concrete release date. I suspect it will appear at the next Xbox Games Showcase.

Most of the trailers have an emphasis on the characters, story etc. They seem to have forgotten it's the dynamic open world that made Stalker stand out from the crowd! Show us mutant behaviour, random battles between factions etc. Has it even been confirmed if we can join factions, or are we limited to being a neutral party? These are the sort of things that need answering.

As much as I would like to see a 30 min gameplay video or have a demo to play I think GSC is doing okay, not great but okay. The Marketing appears similar to Rockstar games. Build some hype with trailers but dont reveal too much until the game is ready to ship. We have come to expect too much of a game revealed before launch. The intro, plot, mechanics and assets are all fully revealed before launch (sometimes years before) its sad. Cant we just wait and enjoy the surprise...

Probably the only problem I have with any factions are the bandits and the mercs

Not as in by gameplay but name wise and lore wise

Because comparing it to the fallout new Vegas and original games, raiders had their own different gangs and names that made them distinct and look different but fallout 3 and 4 just mashing them into one faction

Renegade makes me a little happier because it’s like that. A bandit group with its own relations and names.

This is a misconception popularized by mods. The only game that they’re neutral in is SoC, and that’s mainly for two reasons. The first is that Bandits and Freedom never encounter each other, so they don’t need to be made enemies (Ecologists and Monolith are neutral in CoP for the same reason), and the second is that a quest character, the Insane Stalker from Freedom, needs to be a Bandit so they could be hostile to the player, but neutral to Freedom so Freedomers don’t kill him and break/complete his quest, and you don’t lose rep with Freedom for killing him.

Lore-wise, the only faction Bandits should be friendly/neutral with is Mercenaries.

Mercenaries, while an enemy of Freedom in many situations, is an entity that rarely co-operates with the state, and thus an uneasy alliance between them could happen.

Besides, Freedom needs guns from somewhere, this is basically why they're neutral with mercs and bandits, those two factions probably supply much of the guns in the Zone. Where else would they get them? Sidorovich? Good luck hauling them all the way from Cordon. Barkeep? Nah, he is biased towards Duty and even if he wasn't, he'd have hard time supplying guns to Freedom inside the biggest "No fun" area in the Zone.

See, if they go with the usual "When its done", they'll have to put the pre-orders on hold. No pre-orders, no nothing, add the high expectations from the fanbase to that - its a HUMONGOUS risk. Moreover, even if the game is a bit janky on release, they will still get far money from preorders accumulated for months instead. So this delay after delay might be a tactic to keep preorders coming in and still be buying them time finishing the game.
