why would I be though. gamma and original games have little in common but the Zone itself and the factions / some characters. The goal isn't the same, the gameplay isn't the same and anomaly story is ass while original game story is really nice and characters are really good. gamma is just a survival FPS in the zone with a focus on gameplay and progression, i.e. what a sandbox / freeplay game in the Zone needs (every effort you pour in making a great story decreases the replayability imo, and anomaly is all about the replayability and the gameplay). Original games and gamma are for different people, hence all the frictions between original games story enjoyers vs survival FPS enjoyers.

One can like both or only one, it's a matter of taste. Shitting on one or the other is completely dumb. And thinking STALKER2 will be GAMMA2 is completely dumb.

Basically Monster Hunter vs The Witcher 3. You hunt monsters in both game, but they do not please the same crowd because the goal of both game is completely different. Same thing here, but they take place in the same universe. I'm trying my best to keep the stalker lore and aesthetic intact though while keeping in mind anomaly is played in 2018 and the Zone isn't a secret anymore...

Now why would TW3 enjoyer would shit on Monster Hunter is beyond me. And guess what, this doesn't happen. It's just that some original games gatekeepers hate seeing their favorite niche game slowly becoming mainstream through mods not respecting the original games gameplay, while they didn't do anything in the past 10 years to modernize their niche favorite game while there are all the tools are their disposal to do it. And most likely these same people will hate STALKER 2 being different from the trilogy. Hateful finger pointers basically.

While I think modding is a formidable entry door for many people that wouldn't get into stalker anyway . If I can make new people discovering the zone and buying the original games to support GSC and get interested in buying STALKER 2, then my mission is complete.
