lmao yea I'm not anticipating even a fraction of any of that. But I do think invasions would be a pretty cool feature and a tarkov like mode makes a lot of sense for the atmosphere of the game. Stalcraft should release in the next month in NA and they have simply built an open PVP world. I suppose we will have to wait and see what GSC implements, deathmatch or TDM modes seem out of place for this game though, extraction makes more sense. Regardless, if they do follow through and include multiplayer functionality then the mod community will eventually take care of implementing whatever PVP modes end up being most desired.

If the A-Life system is convincing enough then I probably won't even care about PVP that much and DM/TDM would be fine and just something to do with friends. Also, if the singleplayer experience still allows you to explore the zone with other AI/NPCs in a squad with you then you can get some of that team experience without multiplayer as well.

Yea, doing it as an add-on afterwards kind of ensures their focus is on SP, which is good. A-Life system is something I really want devs to focus on in single player experiences. The original stalker had the right idea with factions, and mod community extended that by making the world feel more alive and coherent. With modern tech and a big team behind it, they can build a very life like world and real ecosystem. Playerunknowns new project is focused on the same type of AI systems in games to build realistic feeling worlds.

Elden Ring showed flashes of that as well, though not nearly as comprehensive as I hope stalker 2 will be. But Fromsoft put a lot of thought into some areas where you have guards watching a camp, where caravans pass through being hauled by big guys who can carry the materials from a mine where a bunch of other AI are extracting resources so it can be taken back to a big castle under construction. It's not super complex and everything is on set paths but it makes the world feel more believable and immersive.

It doesn't even have to be Tarkov like game mode, that's just an example of possible game modes that we can draw inspiration from to find something that fits within stalker.

how are those related? we're talking about a mod produced by a person with pro-war nazi views, mod is a game, and a game is an artpiece that contains ideas, do i need to explain how that differs from a piece of technology?
yes, in this particular case the mod was released long before the invasion and rather lacks of ideological agenda, yet popularisation of that authors work can lead to things as support of theirs by those who are unaware and/or motivate them to continue the work.
while there isn't anything wrong with playing a mod like golden sphere or reading a book like harry potter, you must at least be aware of who produced and wrote them, of possible underlying messages in them
