Depends. For story and atmosphere you should get Oblivion Lost Remake and Lost Alpha Director's Cut. If you'll get interested in freeplay then Anomaly, Call of Chornobyl and things like A.R.E.A. are the choice.
You might also try soup mods, which are giant piles of unfiltered content of varying quality, for example OP2.2. There are also shorter story mods: Spatial Anomaly, Valley of Whispers, SFZ project, Wind of Time. Hell, you could even try NLC for some unreasonable and unfair difficulty.

Personally i'd recommend OLR and LA after you play the original trilogy.

It's one of the hints. In reality what you see in the final cutscene is a hallucination that Strelok sees after being hit by c-cosciousness' psi-emissions(akin to monolith). In reality Strelok was captured by C-consciousness and brainwashed into become their agent as a part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. program(this time for real). This is also supported by his "magical" teleportation to a green meadow right after he shoots c-consciousness. He is in fact at the very same meadow seen in "I want the Zone to disappear" ending.
