The only way to get it is to loot a stash given by the drifter you save in Cordon but its a common glitch that he bleeds out and dies as he did with me making it impossible to get the flash drive

I'm getting rushed development vibes for stalker 2... I'm honestly fine with a delay because of how much I want this game to be good.

So i played Anomaly again to see if my judgement wasn't clouded by external factors and here's what i found:
-The new map they added is still unfinished
-First quest for CS is still taking a PDA to the other end of the zone
-A life is non existent, i had a clear sky guy and renegade be in church without noticing each other until i walked in and made the CS guy turn around which started a fight
-Enemy AI seems to forget you exist if you just hide behind cover for a few seconds
-This also means that you are going to have to clear your way through renegades everytime you want to go home as CS (outstanding design choice)
-My first stash: a rusty ak barrel
-Holy mother of bloat
-The zone looks more like a Colombian jungle now then anything else
-It's still just as empty as it was in 2018, there is literally ONE(1) guy guarding the fishing hamlet. Keep in mind that in this mod you can just walk into their base rather then needing a guide

So overall...My opinion on it has degraded actually, i remember it being meh but it was playable. This mod is awful and the only way to turn it """"good"""" is to turn it into discount tarkov apperantly.
If this is the definitive stalker experience i want whatever is a 180 degrees from this

Yo I'm currently at the Monolith Barrier Defense mission and haven't been able to finish it for some reason? I've wiped out the monolith forces alongside the stray mutants that come through and attack the Freedom Soldiers but to no avail. Pretty easily fixable through gameplay mods, atleast in my experience

I've been running my own modded run (no modpacks, just stuff downloaded individually) and I've been really enjoying it. Also staying in swamps during the hobo phase is just asking to not have fun

You also don't have to do that PDA quest, It's just one of those unique quests given by some traders, there are quite a few.

I find them a tad bit more interesting than just "find X item, kill X person"

Not to mention how easy it is to make Anomaly look rather nice without dunking on your performance

I'm not too sure it does - My current playthrough is a CS one, I had to go through 2-3 quests to even get to that PDA quest. Honestly mate, for something made by free-time devs for no gain, I'd say they've done plenty enough work to get this thing even running stable.

I have a bunch of guns and ammo and consumables in there and just want to know if I will have to carry all of them to a new personal box in one of the other areas since I'm about to leave the first zone

each box is unique so you have to carry all your loot from zaton to yanov, but I usually just bring some aid, food, ammo, and an extra gun or two so you don't need to bring too much

You have the book an movie that inspired Stalker but stalker books there aren't any official ones

yea, I feel like anomally greatly contributed to my now general dislike of mods and personal respect for artistic integrety

olr does a better job then most mods imo, but I feel like stumbles with the whole "what to bring back" thing. Some stuff that was cut due to time constraints or lacking technology of the time is neat, but some stuff was obviously cut for a reason. Bushes dramatically slowing you down while being placed everywhere is not exactly a good idea. Nor is bringing back flora anomalies that are hard to spot, cant be bolted, and kill you very quickly. theres just lots of little stuff like that that kinda adds up. reminds me of some of those hl2 beta restoration mods that add every single cut weapon. Like, they seem to miss that most of those weapons were cut either ebcause they were redundant, or they are too complicated to flesh out

tbf I think slams were cool and should have stayed in vanilla, and I see no harm int he tau canon being usable again, but other then that I feel like adding the rest of the cut weapons is a tad redundant, as their roles are easily taken by other guns.

modders seem t kinda just add suff that sounds or looks cool on paper, but in execution it almost always doesnt work

i'll tell you what though, Entropy Zero 2 is pretty great. Yea, there are a small handful of nitpicks I could give out, like how the hl1 animations for the bullsquids looks out of place in this new art style, but honestly the whole mod feels like a competantly made expansion pack

also, though I only played a small bit of it, the republic at war mod for star wars empire at war also feels very polished

but shit like that is more the exception then the rule

it did everything right. the gameplay, the weapons, the game design, the levels, it all feels natural and professional. There was no obvious mod jank or anything, it just felt like it should

the game teaches yout he mechanics really well, each major part of the game has its own gameplay gimmick like hl2, enviromental story telling is done well, and the dialogue between wilson and bad cop is just great

the whole mod is just super professional feeling. Like, the dev said he wanted to make a hl2 equivalent of opposing force, and shit, he succeeded in flying colors
