My personal opinion (which may annoy average players) is that you'd have cleaning/maintenance, and repairs as separate things. You could clean / maintain at any safe place or campfire for a nominal cost (like cleaning in metro). YOu'd need to do this semi-regularly, or if you just went wading in a swamp or mud a lot.

Then you could have weapon and armor repair, which takes much more expensive repair kits, and requires a workbench or specialist npcs. This stat degrades much slower from use, or if you take heaps of damasge.

Also, when you're at campfires doing maintenance or hanging out they should definitely put a lot of effort into having lots of storie and music to hear 😛

if metal is rusted, you need to get rid of the rust, but the rust being removed will decrease the amount of material left, ie. things might end up too fragile for use due to being too corroded, etc.

There are many examples of 308 rifles that are not dmrs. Dmr is a role. Its not about the caliber of the weapon alone. Most weapons can be dmrs too.. like you can slap a longer barrel and a higher magnification scope on something and boom it can serve as a dmr

For example, Warhammer Darktide on Xbox got auto-refunded just like Stalker 2 did, despite only being delayed from September to November 30 this year.

Nanite can have file size reductions but most of the file size will come from assets other than geometey. Given the texture detail in trailers for stalker 2, the promised large world size and so on, I'm definitely expecting a hefty file size.

SRP fixes almost all bugs in the game, and gives you the option to add some tweaks to the game, like more "realistic" damage, ie. bullet type matters more, improved stealth mechanics, etc.
Made for a really nice experience, even though I did still encounter a handful of bugs and misc. issues that made me play for at least 15h more than I would've needed if the game was bugfree, and had a timer based autosave system. (Not fun losing 30+ minutes of gameplay because you got immersed and forgot to quicksave)

The seed might refer to anomalies, since the cut feature was using artifacts to create anomalies. Also when you talk to stalkers there are stories or rumors about the zone expanding, and the only major characters that I can recall mentioning the expanding of the zone is the Duty faction and the C-Con. For Duty it probably is just propaganda and C-Con could be lying to try and stop Strelok.

That's what I don't understand in the lore. C-Con says that the Zone is slowly expanding and they need more people to restrain it. But Strelok choose to kill all members of C-Con. And then we have CoP with much more frequent emissions. But then the devs tell us that in past 7 years after CoP the Zone is more or less stable.

It certainly wouldn't be past C-Con to lie or significantly exaggerate such things for it's own protection, after all it operates the entire monolith faction and wishgranter scam to protect itself. And only offers Strelok the chance to join once all of it's other defenses have failed and it is threatened with destruction.

I think if adding more people to C-Con was what it wanted all along for the good of the zone it could easily obtain one or more people to add to itself.

in any case, the plotting and story in stalker 1 is a bit sloppy and it does leave itself open to multiple readings in this way

I did a comparison between a radeon 5700 and my gtx 980, and I have to say. "holy moly the 5700 must be old", because the 980 outperforms it by 431% or smt, despite the 980 being from like 2015.
What I can say though, that might be slightly helpful, is that the 980 can run cs on max settings, with some stuttering in the swamps (for some unknown reason), the 5700 might be able to run cs at min graphics
