Modern automatics are too much of a hassle to maintain honestly. 10 speed automatics that by themselves run through more software than my head unit I find concerning, and I've had the displeasure of rebuilding a mitsubishi autobox, never doing that again. We were looking at engines earlier, but i wanted the opinion of someone more familiar with them

it has a much improved side seal design which makes them less prone to failure

it still is heavily advised to delete the oil metering pump

because no matter version of the engine the oil injector pump is bad

just run it with 2 stroke oil

The hardest part is finding a cheap 09 thats not more than 50 miles away

doesn't need to be brand new

even if its not you can pretty easily just replace the seals

just make sure it's got a compression test

before you buy it

Because really there’s not much you need to worry about as long as the engine has compression especially if it’s an 09 which doesn’t suffer from the coolant leak issue nearly as bad either

My recommendation would be to find one that was pulled out of a working car with proof of it running and hopefully only smoking blue and only a little

Another option that some people do is to install a separate 2 stroke oil tank

And connect that to the omp

Which is way easier to do on a factory car since if you delete it on a stock ecu the car will be stuck in limp mode
