as I was saying, certain retcons are completely dumb, and some story beats arent welcome but overall, it does a good job of making a scifi plot that is tangentially tied to a philosophical point and having fun with it while playing into the power of the zone, with a little more refinement it couldve achieved a lot more than what it did, the factions as they are represented are a good starting point to make quest (that were cut) on "restoration of old glory or seeking a new purpose" and most of the complaints are from people that are parasocially attached to a certain image of said faction

All of the important npcs like Wolf, Sidorovich, Barkeep, have their original English voicelines other than the background npcs like some of the rookies in Cordon have some of their original Russian dialogue like in the original version, but for some reason, they sound like they have newer voice lines that sound more less familiar than the original set they originally speak in the OG SoC.

CS is much weaker. The least stable game in the series, 2-3 side quests that aren't fetch quests for the whole game, the story is just a "road movie" about a random merc chasing Strelok (Yes, CoP main story is even worse but any CoP side questline is much better than CS as a whole), reuse of SoC locations + the new locations are very poorly implemented (Great Swamps: a great skeleton that wasn't used for anything but a simple tutorial for faction wars, has nothing else to offer except for some scripted mutant spawns here and there. Red Forest and Limansk are just one time linear adventures, nothing else to do there after their short main quests. Hospital... Well, we never talk about Hospital... The final fight is also just an annoyance. And, for the last one and the worst one: A-Life. I consider it to be the worst in the series. Why? Because it's the most boring and predictable one. It's just NPCs spawning at their bases and moving through the same two routes that lead to the base of their enemy. That's all, literally. CS A-Life has NOTHING else to offer. They don't "stalk", they don't "hunt", they don't do anything but faction wars. Sure, they have real objectives (Meanwhile in CoP NPCs just move around randomly and change their objectives on reloads). Sure, they can move between locations (In CoP NPCs never leave their locations). So what? The system doesn't generate interesting encounters, even stalker 2 with its "A-Life" a.k.a. event spawner with a little bit of persistence is still much better than faction wars from CS. CS A-Life is just minions from LOL (or creeps from DOTA 2) that fight in Chornobyl setting.

Well... At least it looked good or something... Too bad nobody could run it on max settings when it was released and now we have games that look much better while ask for less resources so I'm not even sure if I can praise it for looking good. I mean... Crysis existed for almost a year already when CS was released so...
