With unreal engine update, better like 40% faster with update, BUT they could increase the graphics quality, increase the alife distance etc...
I can't wait the unreal engine update, I play this game 130h only one playthrough, I never did the other endings and I d'ont want to know how they looks...it's the only thing I wait to restart making a new game
Unreal engine 5.5 compare to 5.1 is TSR upgrade (better performance + better quality), Lumen upgrade, upscaling upgrade (the new FSR4 SDK only support 5.2 + ) and also better features like bios, procedurale tools, new blueprint version etc... Also I wish they bring hardware lumen
which can bring better alife, better quality image, more stable
Unreal engine 5.1 was released in 2022, 5.5.4 in 2024
also DLSS and other things like that are more supported on newer version
Thank you Fellow Stalker, you made one loner a bit happier. Will need a loaf of bread or bandages, I will be there 🥹
take care of you ..the road to the north will be opened soon
More like 10% at best
They already improved performace from 1.0 to 1.7 by 10 - 40 %: https://www.reddit.com/r/stalker/comments/1p3u29u/performance_comparison_of_100_161_and_170_ryzen/
So I expect big performance jump after the engine update, especially on lower end systems.
Well just dont get upset when that big jump will not materialize
unreal engine 5.7 already runs 30% better then 5.4 just imagine vs 5.1 ...
We are not getting 5.7 so kinda irrelevant
called a comparison, either way 5.5.1 to 5.7 was only a 6% jump
5.7 also gets a much better nanite system for foliage
Which looks a bit better and runs a ton better
Tho stalkers foliage was probably not designed with nanite in mind so they couldnt use it even if they wanted to
Be thankful for CD Projekt Red for that lol
Performance could stay the same. They already massively reduced the foliage and with the 10-15% performance gain with the engine update they could very much increase it.
So no performance upgrade but quality upgrade, ether are an upgrade
And they can do both
Bring only 10% performance but quality upgrade
You don't use nanite on foliage anyway. If they choose to use it then it's like using nanite in general. Only really worth it if you use a massive amount of polygons.
nanite also looks better
and what they currently have is a travesty
IMO it would be worth it
But the 10% is the performance. If they put more foliage that uses 10% performance then we are equal again
They should rather actually optimise and not use shortcuts.
Also we're gonna 100% get ai upgrades
if it looks a lot better while running a little bit worse hows that not optimization ?
It will be not that bro...5.5 has way more performance than 5.1
So I think it will be both
Because we are already on the edge of performance. They also just can give both performance and better visual. Other studios can do it too. So when they take extra year after their announcement then they better do that.
But it's not 40% tho.
it will be less but with better visual
no matter what they do the traditional LOD's will always look worse than nanite while not running much better than voxelized nanite
We not going to get 5.7 and not saying traditional will look better but we know it's really enough. It's not like we need to 4x on the screen to see that the foliage is rendered correctly
And that with fly mode to see 8km far
even if the devs dont change anything 5.5 will look better
cuz it gets AO denoiser and reflection denoiser
- it'll reset the dev's stupid config settings
Probably, but both would be best for the game.
also in 5.4 they bring motion animation, so...for AI the animation will looks better
I hope they will improve the AI in this game
That's tho the tool for easy motion capture and to put in game iirc. But they already done that work before and done that motion capture, texture and refining.
Idk if that would help much except maybe the mb
Yo! wtf does "Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x000001fe5d4b34a8" mean? GPU issue?
vaguest error message possible
dammit ...
It means your gpu was ruthlessly violated by ue5
It means your gpu was ruthlessly violated by ue5 nothing
lmao. I can load the first save, at the very start of the game, but not the later saves
there should be more in the crashlog though
Nuh uh. Something was violated ruthlessly, we just dont know what exactly
corrupted save then
Saves are violated
dammit ... Seems like it's quite a few corrupted saves, then
maybe you have backup saves ?
the game might create those on its own
I know I should, but I don't. I only have older ones
How to on fsr 4.1 in game or alt + r amd adrenalin
check dm
Whats going to be the average performance gain with the 5.54 update?
Consult the orb
more then it used to be, less then everybody wants
either +10% performance or better quality something like that
fellas, what if all markets are secretly controlled by sidorovich so that he will get all the habar and money?
well 5.4 to 5.7 is 30% faster and 5.5.4 to 5.7 is 6% faster so its at least 20% faster
Tbh would be better not to speculate and hype it up. When expectations are not met bunch of people will go apeshit over it once again
As if people can resist doing that

Apparently they hacked their website lol
And what to they get from hacking site? I mean like, do they change installation files, maybe get user date or ehat?
If they can publish compromised files for people to run, it's pretty big. Keyloggers, browser password data, etc.
They changed download to infected files. Known software so even if antivirus screams people just assume its false positive
Was bit more sophisticated attack similar to Notepad++ attack. According to site owner infected link was up for about 6 hours
I usually check everything on virustotal, usually it can flag like 0-3 antiviruses, whic i think is safe
This one was not actually picked up by Virustotal
Well technically it was but it gave off the generic machine learning trojan that often enough is false positive

Anyone having issues with a bunch of white dots in the corners of the buildings on interiors
4060 nvidia
Wolf just putting in work xD
Anyone know where to go to fix a graphics issue ? I posted the pic in screens and vids
thats the neat part - you dont
what???
For real ?
Please tell me that's not a joke
Source : trust me bro
Done what?
Do trust anything and everything from

People are actually that ez to fool
I was too hyped befors I saw the source
Do you guys use software to clean your reg
Not much point
Its possible that remains of programs can cause issues
Trivial enough to track down offending reg if such case appears and null it
More likely that windows will eat dirt and corrupt its own file then registry starting to act up
yep
happened to me twice in last year

Can people stop getting hacked for 5 bloody minutes?
Token grab lore
People actually fall for hacks lol. They need to stop installing cracked Stalker2
where can i grab some tokens?

So what's this chat for, to post PC specs n' such? Just asking since I see mostly chatting in here.
complaining about how the game looks and runs
also complaining about less stalker related things. you cant send images here so theres limited options.
all that he said + general tech discussions and doom posting
I haven't played S2 in a while. I recently decided to play the OG games first and then start on S2 again.
Oh cool, might post my specs then! Here they are:
Motherboard – ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus
CPU – AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-core, 24-Thread Unlocked @ 3.7 (4.8 GHz)
CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black, 140mm dual-tower CPU cooler (Black)
GPU – SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU 16GB GDDR6
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 @ 3600 MHz
PSU - Seasonic FOCUS GX-750 750W 80+ Gold Full-Modular PSU
Buy better
motherboard - boards (insert yo mama joke)
cpu - with built-in heating system
cpu cooler - cools down
gpu - processes graphics
ram - has dimentia
PSU - supplies are quite unstable, but they are.
these are the specs you should aim for
Pff you need a 1080TI. Nothing can beat that and a 9900K. Perfect build to run the game 100% all the time on Low. Extracting all HP of your PC
Decided to put this message here because i assume this is the right channel. im building a new pc soon, looking forward to play stalker2, but i am going to install linux, does stalker 2 work with linux? just started to look into linux for the first time like a hour ago so i know little to nothing.
Our little nerd corner
Yeah most games work that dont have Anicheat. Stalker2 also works. It runs faster too depending where you are
If you going to use Linux - the most important HW part is GPU - it should be AMD. Nvidia on Linux will give you inferior experience.
Nvidia NTC reducing vram of a game from 6.5GB to 970MB using a different compression method and AI network sometimes looking nearly identical or better.
Insane!

But they can't manage to make most of their decent GPUs affordable. I'm tired of NVIDIA and the AI malarkey, personally.
i wonder, does it work with anisotropic filtering yet ?
Okkk thanks
Ok good to know thanks. im getting a Rx 9060 xt 16gb.
Its not that they cant, rather they actively choose not to do that
Tomato, tomato, really. Same difference. It dosen't help that on top of that Jensen is obscenely egotistic and arrogant to boot.
well cant means that they tried and will maybe do it some day. but they are choosing not to do anything good for consumers. honestly - last ces was terrible, it wasn`t even consumer in the slightest, so its just trend for all the companies to not care abt you
Maybe, but I doubt it. After the 3000 series came out, that was the turning point I'd say.
im not sure, 3000 series seems great, id say it started with 4000, when ai became not complementary, but rather one of most important parts of gpu, while in 5000 series we have sitation, when ai is all nvidia cares abt
I thought CES stood for
Corporate
Electronic
Show
no, it actually stands for
AI
AI
AI
Does the frame time stabilisation maje a difference for you guys
Intel might also extend their older platform.
Wonder what that means. Are the newer gens not ready yet and get postponed or does the ram shortage push red and blue to make more ddr4 CPUs to sell.
Prob both or something
Why tho? Alder lake is not that desired CPU and is still readily available along with the boards
So the 13 and 14th gen user dont go to AMD and stay on intel?
Who would switch and still stay at Intel. Best option with low risk is AMD and rather have people stay on LGA1700. Maybe thats the plan
Nobody is switching on this ram economy

besides star citizen, there is no game reaching 16gb Vram at 1440p ultra settings so this 14700F+4080super is gonna last long enough to get through the rammageddon.
No game reaches 12 GB if you playing low. So both are totally fine to have without needing to buy new GPU
12GB is good for today, but so was 8GB when RTX 3000 series launched. Best to keep that in mind when buying.
8GB was also low back then with some games but you could always argue to lower settings. Same now with 12GB it's sometimes hitting 12gb but you can argue lowering settings. It will probably have the same fate.
Imo it always depends on the GPU. 5090 on 16GB would be obsolete or useless. Getting limited by Vram in some games already Vs what it could do.
It is actually insane how much of a difference this 7800x3D made in this game. Compared to 13600kf in most other games it wasnt this huge of a difference. I am certainly not complaining though! Love this processor
Before I couldnt run Native AA with epic settings, had to use quality or balanced to keep above 60 fps. Now with fsr native AA im getting 90 fps which is my cap with frame gen on 180fps
Some minor frame time spikes here & there, but man this like a night & day difference comparing to when I first played
I also discovered why HDR was looking so bad at night before. The black point setting is backwards, meaning if you set it -5 that is 5 levels removed so it washes the image out more. 5 would make black levels darker by 5 levels
So the entire time I thought -5 was making it darker, but NO lol complete opposite. Thanks for that one GSC
sounds like a skill issue
Idk did you use Microsoft HDR calibration
I see... So Nvidia is so interested in Neural Texture Comperssion since it would solve one of the issues with their ReSTIR PT
And issue being ReSTIR needs quite the chunk of vram
You should post the example image Nvidia posted for people to see. All it's really doing is using the lowest LOD textures & cheaply upscaling them in real time using tensor cores. The amount of detail lost is insane. I can see the potential for this on, say, a 5030-esque GPU that is already limited in VRAM, but marketing this for 8GB+ VRAM GPUs is solving a problem that doesn't exist (or will only exist due to poor optimization and once again become another bandaid solution like DLSS has become)
https://research.nvidia.com/labs/rtr/neural_texture_compression/
Or they just dont wanna give more VRAM
It's just about not putting more Vram in to their GPus
I mean in current economy doubling vrams would add about 300 on the price tag + markup
And we would pretty much experience 2020 shortage and scalping yet again since AI bros going to buy all the gaming cards for their garage slop like its cryptoboom
Still an insane reduction in vram usage and still looking good, imagine if they allowed it to use a little more vram than that example so it could reach the same level of detail but still be lower vram cost, be good if they made it variable instead of such extreme usage reduction
uh-huh and now you have devs who couldnt care less about optimization even more
you will just end up with same quality of games as now, just that without that tech it will work pretty bad
textures also arent the only things consuming VRAM
yes but since its just rescaling LOD textures all that it really does is a crappy optimization hack that a lot of devs will abuse
a dedicated dev could develop low res textures and make it a setting in the graphics config to mitigate the VRAM issue. they don't typically because it's not necessary. modern GPU hardware generally has 4-8GB of VRAM which is more than enough
it's like initial DLSS implementation all over again; instead of it being used as an additional optimizer, development schedules cut corners on optimization and use DLSS as a bandaid fix.
mind you, i have zero issues with the actual function of these technologies. DLSS is a fantastic equalizer that gives lower end GPUs access to a wider range of games. but it needs to be in addition to normal optimization development.
Like they did that before the spike. The Ram price changes nothing here
You will get less, Less vram and less FPS just for 6070 for 700$
vram prices were going up before current gen even came out so launch prices were never going to hold up
Sure the 8GB 4060 and 12GB 4070 is at that the vram Spiked not because they dont want to give more and get even more margin
Upgraded from a GTX 1660ti 6GB VRAM card to RX 6700 10GB VRAM card and now I get an "Out of Video Memory" crash on shader compilation. I have an AMD CPU.
I DDU'd in safe mode as you would, I even reinstalled my chipset drivers. Every other game recognizes the GPU fine and there are no issues outside of STALKER 2.
STALKER 2 was even a fresh reinstall just to be extra safe. Cleared the folders and appdata as well.
I don't get it.
So
I have a laptop with a 3070 and a 11th Gen I7 and an Adata ssd
Any idea on how to get more fps ?
I have graphics on medium
If lowering Graphics changes nothing then it might just be cuz of weak CPU. Else there is a mod to lower Graphics massively so maybe try that?
but low graphics looks so bad qwq
Even on medium, I often get wierd lighting issues
its very simple - you buy urself a new high-end pc
huh? Did you guys even read my message?
set graphics to low
lol, not even joking. Not much else you could do. Maybe enable dlss and fsr frame gen
I got this game looking absolutely beautiful. The most gritty & atmospheric game I have ever played. HDR, when tuned properly, is phenomenal.
Using a mix of Epic and High settings with FSR Native AA plus FSR FG at 1440p
smooth 120-130 fps even in settlements like zalyssia & garbage so far. Like bro 89 avg fps with 78 1% low, no stutters other than some minor frame time spikes that are only noticeable with a graph overlay
Yeah im feeling lucky too cos im running Epic on an "old" 11700K with a 5070Ti and dont know why so much complainings ^^´ 1440p and fully native with between 60 and 90FPS (75-80 avg). Even the Foxgame(!) Spirit of the north 2 can pull me on some smoky or very particled areas down to 45FPS xD So Stalker runs absolutly perfect. There are games that need more ressources then this beautiful one 😉

So any news on the Engine update. We are almost Month 5. IDK if they realize that they said they will do it 10Months ago
engine will be updated. maybe. some day. i hope so
They still haven’t done that?
You thought they done one?
I’ve been at BCT for almost three months now, I assumed they did by now.
Naw they done nothing then giving us stuff that should have existed since day1
ah yes
Btw to upgrade the Unreal engine to my project it took me around 3/4 full days.
so well 10 month unless it's very very customized it shouldn't take that much longer. IMO the UE5 update is already ready they just add some stuff I think
As far as I know, their version of Unreal was already customized to begin with
That said, with all due respect, I doubt your projects are the most objective point of comparison for Stalker 2 as a project...
from what I've seen
yes sure, we d'ont have the same project but 10 month man...even if Stalker 2 is 15X bigger than mine, it shouldn't take 1 years
and well C++ is still C++
you just need to adapte the function, API, Plugin to the newer version
you just need to copy past the code and adapte it, it's what I did
so yeah a few month is realist, but even it was announced last year for the 2025 roadmap, we aare in 2026
10 months is crazy I agree with that
But if you realize that they're creating DLC by splitting up the development team and scrapping the “A Life” system which they clearly hadn't finished and used as an excuse, claiming it was buggy and they couldn't implement it
you start to understand why it takes 10 months
Yeah it's why the last update was really "meh" only a few people worked on it
They're more concerned with making a profit than actually following through on what they promised from the start. If they knew they couldn't deliver, they should have kept quiet, but marketing is marketing.
But as we can see on forums like this, there are many people who will support them for reasons we already know, and they’re free to take three years or however long they want to finish the game, or not.
I prefer that they rebuild everything and take more times, I think that Unreal engine update is ready, but well idk what happen inside the company
Yeah...the only thing that I d'ont like it's they are not communicating anymore
and really..tradecard games..I d'ont really care about it
Books for 50 euros outside Ukraine, more art books, a card game, collector's editions, DLC etc...
Yeah lol
They do it with so much care that when they add content that should have been there from the start, they call it a “free content update”
real...for now I just want the Unreal engine update
(and also because the newer version have better Linux support)
I wish I could use Adobe on Linux I'd definitely switch over.
Yeah I totally understand why lol. for now when an app is exclusive Windows and d'ont have alternative I use Wine
dude, gonna be real, what makes you think that you have any more knowledge than industry veterans behind a 150gb+ game
not saying you're completely amateur, but you need a reality check
it's litteraly what I said
what is
.
i replied to that
But taking 1 years man, and just remember that UE5 update was announced to 2025's roadmap !
it took me 10 hours max, even for a 150Gb games...1 years for a 2025 promise
their game is way more complex than yours
yeah but what I said, you just need to adapt the code, C++ is still C++. and even if you had problems with assets, re import them.
Trust me 1 years it's the time for making an engine not a engine update.
it's not a excuse

to upgrade Unreal engine you need to :
adapte the code for the newer SDK
adapte the plugins (like FSR and DLSS, Steamplugin, any external plugins)
re import some assets (it's the problem I had with some assets)
adapte the code to the newer version (there are some function that has changed, but mostly just renaming)
did you fully modify your engine to make your game
and the only thing that take the time it's customization
No, just basic engine edit, not like arc raiders
so again why do you think its comparable
it's not
so then why are you saying its easy
what I compare is that 1 years is excessive
especially when it's a company that had hundred of employees
waaaaay more easy than making your own engine yes
I know that they did it's more complicated than mine, yes I know and I am completely agree with that.
but man when I took me the weekend, they are hundred of employees..they are completely able to do it in 6 month
1 years it's the time of making the X-ray right ?
No? It took 6 to 9 years what
lmao
xray was 6-9 years of development and it still was a clunky mess
unreal engine is two decades of development
I see nothing about Xray
simply better to use the existing good engine thsn to make your own
ah yes 1998
Thats like the smallest issue. Bigger thing is that its 5 months past the deadline they promised to deliver. This sounds more that they did false claims and or did just stopped the Development.
i think ASA also took a year to update from 5.2 to 5.5
ASA ?
ok I d'ont played this game so idk XD
If we have to compare it to Ark, then we're in trouble
I don't think they've stopped development, but I also don't think they're in too much of a hurry, The DLC and the money are more important
wasnt it just made for the only purpose of people buying same game again?(and not being able to play it in 60fps for the balance of the universe)
also remember fellas - they said that there will be multiplayer one day
the question is - how many years must pass for it to be ready
or what if they are planning to launch 5.5(or whatever new version of ue they running) to launch it with new dlc?
If Metro 2039 turns out well, there’s going to be a lot of talk about the differences between studios in terms of how they handle development during a crisis.
I keep wondering if they really released the game early for financial reasons, especially considering that questionable donation of 800,000 euros
New metro was finally announced?
Damn I go to basic and everything happens. 😒
yep, abt a week or two ago
About time.
for winter 2026
That’s dope as hell, I should well have my pc by then, I know I’m buying a laptop in the meantime.
i play that game with 70+ fps all of the time
it looks a thousand times better than the OG
OG looks genuinely disgusting today
ultra performance upscaling will be more stable in the remaster than the OG at native rez
i wish i could play games at 60+fps on my laptop
I mean there was no deadlines promised
Even when it was said to be 2025 roadmap there was that small print of "targets may be moved from 2025 to later dates" thus not commitment to certain deadline
Where tf is Adrenalin drivers
i ate them
D:
Target moved to past 2 year anniversary. Hell yeah, just moving the target. ✌🏼
This is funny because bro those are the worst timings I’ve ever seen
Ew
did the latest update broke FSR frame gen?
Nope, still working for me.
i reinstalled the game, and every time i turn on FSR Frame Gen,it causes horrible stuttering.i played it months ago on the same PC and had no issues at all
I’ve got a 7900 XTX, 7800X3D, and 128GB of ram
im going insane trying to fix the stutters with fsr
6000MT/s CL30 has a latency of 10 ns, 8000MT/s CL56 set has a latency of 14ns a lot slower
even 10000mt at 56 would be 11.2
Those cas timings are atrocious
literally
idk what the point of this ram even is
Bigger number, better >)
I'll just say that it's coming, and patience is worth it. Push GSC to have it out early and you will simply have another 1.0 situation
it's not just the UE 5.5.4 update being worked on after all, I mean I would also call it a scam if it's "just" that. But there's other factors at play here
well you're a tester if you say it's worth it I hope it is
Idk it all works good for me on 7800x3D, 9070, 32gb ddr5 & installed on m.2 nvme ssd. What storage drive do you have the game installed?
In any case we all wait for Ue5 update
i have it on a ssd m.2 gen 5
like i said the game was working just fine 5 months ago
Yeah I have a mate who said stutters are awful with FSR on a 9070xt
i found a fix
seems like the latest amd drivers broke smth related to fsr fg i installed slightly older drivers and the stutters are gone
Maybe it requires shaders to be re compiled ?
Did also anybody install 3.1.6? Maybe that fix it ?
Reason: Posted an invite
u don;t have any driver time outs with frs 4 and frame gen?
strange, ever since december i can't play it with frs 4 and frame gen on
fsr works fine, native or quality both work, but if i turn on frame gen it will crash
What are your specs
I bet ppl hardly ever do the reset shader cache in adrenalin lol
Ryzen 7 5700X3D, 32gb ddr4 ram, 3600cl 16, RX 9070 XT, b550 tomahawk motherboard, playing on 2560x1440 high
it should auto reset when you update drivers
Yes, but i mean resetting it is a whole lot easier than installing new drivers
Im still using 26.3.1 bc i cant be bothered
i would try it with frame gen, it would work like 10,20min and bam, driver timeout, without frame gen, no issue
Im not too familiar with am4 tbh. Do you have any OC or tune set to any component?
nope, all is running stock, only stalker is giving me headache, can;t figure out why
Im not sure what it could be sorry man
Oh wait do you use freesync ?
Or the Wait for vertical refresh in Adrenalin?
Using these two together caused massibe issues for me and I didnt even know the wait for vertical refresh was on. It caused frame time stutters and driver timeout
But that caused issues in all games for me so idk
Sorry I wish I could be more help
nope, no v sync, no freesync, nothing, no worries I am kinda stuck anyway, waiting for the engine update and hoping for fix, game looks great native with fsr 4, but it is, what it is I guess 😄
I think this game is just weird and bugged like that with FG
Does anyone know of any optimization mods that don't drastically affect the graphics? I have an RX 7800 XT with 16GB of VRAM and a Ryzen 5700 X3D with 32GB of RAM, and the game runs very poorly at 1440p.
I just bought the game and for me the experience has been very bad.
well, fsr 3 is crap, use tsr, it is not perfect and try lowering resolution scale, like , 80 precent or adjust untill u get good fps, game is potato optimized and they wont fix a thing before 2.0
Which version are we currently on?
game version is 1.9 or smt like that if that is what you are asking 😄
fsr is 4.1 if u have 9000series, otherwise u are stuck with fsr 3.1 or optiscaler 😄
I got almost the same specs and running 60FPS native 1440p Epic
7800XT Ryzen 7 5800X but I'm on Linux
It shouldn't run that bad
If I can run 55-60FPS on Epic, well on High you should be 70
Reason: Posted an invite
All the optimiyation mods are snake oil
1.8 engine update witch is 1.9 is still coming..after the DLC or so ^^
that makes no sense, engine upgrade should be first, then dlc
we all wish xD
but yeah have no.problems with this version. new content awaiting! xD
well, I wish it was better optimized but it is, what it is, will wait for new update 😄
Use optiscaler for fsr4 i dont think 7800xt would be slowed too much by it would it?
Even if it is i think it is worth the visual fidelity in comparison
I cant imagine those specs getting unplayable fps with adjusted settings
Me either I been having tons of fun playing through again on a new save with current patch. :D
Runs smooth as silk for me, but I have 7800x3D & 9070
Yeah, on Linux 50 - 65FPS on Epic FSR4 native
but I use quality so I can have stable 60FPS
there is huge drop in town
well town/hubs are always worse cause strain is probably on cpu there and since engine is not so well optimized it causes fps drops, moment you move more than 50m from base fps is fine again 😄
i noticed that there's more ghosting on sRGB video encoding in comparison to Rec709, is this true or is it all just boogers that i'm making up?
GUYS FSR4 FOR RDNA3 & 2 OFFICIALLY ANNIUNCED
OptiScaler guys posted an announcement in their server. I cant forward it here
Tbh I notice quite a bit if ghosting in all Ue5 games with lumen
without upscaling or frame gen?
This is nice
7000 series get it this july but 6000 series early 2027
Still pretty good for old cards
fellas. what 300$ qhd monitor would you recommend?
Depends on features you want from it
like 160hz and preferrably va
Probably AOC 27" Q27G3XMN fits the bill
well its a little bit higher where i am. its more like 1k$
Reason: Bad word usage
With abysmal local dimming but what can you expect from cheap monitor.. Screw you bot
more like 300$
well its the only monitor with such a abyssmal price. other are 20-50$ higher then usual price
There arent too many VA panels that dont have abysmal black smearing
well at home i have samsung adyssey g5 with va so i dont think it will be worse then that
MSI does have decent fast VA panel but thats about 500€
Or 260€ if willing to gamble with alibaba
and its where oled territory starts
well not really old. maybe like 2024-ish
Id suspect eventually oled replaces TN panels and settles around their price
i`ve been thinking to maybe buy something like XG27WCS or XG27WCS
Probably will work just fine
im thinking abt having other options, cause marketplace straight up refuses to work with my card and tells me nothing abt reasons why
Tho to me seems kinda waste of VA panel when it cant really do HDR well
well it could be a waste of va, but there is not much i can buy for that kind fo money, that would be qhd. also ive heard msi has quality problems with their cheaper models
Is the G5 you have the 240hz model or 165?
Ah then more or less any VA would be upgrade tbf
i mean i could also use ips, just prefer va
is it actually good and could you give me an exact model
Let me dig up my history... Searching potential monitors is like another job these days lol
it sure seems like it is
TCL 27G64
thank you
Apparently it is VA heh
so apparently there is some aoc qd-oled monitor for about 75$ more
so apparently tcl does not exist in turkey and they are not shipping them here
Yee they are kinda picky where they sell
but they sell in ukraine
Didnt sell that here until someone just send message to retailer and asked can they get it listed
Xiaomi G Pro 27i is one option that is IPS but does have bit of firmware lottery
so there also is some ktc monitor that has mini led and doesnt cost me a kidney, but they are not shipping
is this lg okay? 27G610A-B
Would say bit too dim
so to make it easier - what brands would you generally recommend?
I dont really follow a brand when it comes to monitors
I just pick something that looks decent enough from the specs and hunt reviews
so apparently turkey hates every single budget option for mini led
Well that sucks
what do you think abt qd on ips?
Dont see too much benefit
Neat with VA panels but borderline pointless on IPS tho if its there nice, if it costs 50 extra vs model without nah
i see, thank you, tomorrow i will buy at least some monitor, cause i need my pc to work. i will just hope that that monitor would be at least decent
Means literally nothing if it is not implemented in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2.
? it will be the same way FSR4 is on RDNA4
Can't trust any tech company these days.
They will release fsr 5 exclusive to the 10000 series
Bold of you to assume they have anything resembling fsr 5
They need to see Nvidias next DLSS and spend 2 years copying it before fsr 5 becomes a thing
Did AMD fix your trust in them with RDNA 3&2 getting FSR4.1?

so ive got xg27wcs, i will launch my pc in two weeks now

Indeed
Baller memory kit but it’s 880 usd

Back then before the inflation it would have costed 300$
Idk if this is the right channel but did they ever fix the fps dropping to 5fps and becoming unplayable for a few minutes??
Could it be that you have a 8gb gpu?
I have a 6gb… but my game ran perfectly fine before
Low down the textures a little bit
They are on low same with hair
What's the RAM situation? I see usage go above 20GB all the time
Wait I meant 6gb vram
Even on lower settings vram usage tens to spike in some areas to over 8GB. System ram also often goes above 20, even more if you run out of vram. It's UE5 so running out of resources is noting new.
Is there anything I can do to get rid of it? Like make my game run like it did before?
Try previous drivers
6Gb is not enough
They better get updating min system reqs then
Since for EU potato gamer that is grounds for refund regardless of hours if its truly unplayable as long as they have atleast min specs
I mean game will utilize the memory that is available doesnt mean it actually requires 20GB
I wish dfi lanparty was still around
I don't. I just wish we had PC components that don't look like gamer trash
Like Proart look nice, until you see "PoWeR uP yOuR iMaGiNaTiOn" written on it.
Who on the design team insists upon these things?
POV your the most boring man alive

you're*
I have several dfi lanparty boards it’s just too bad most of there later stuff was total trash
Basically anything intel they made was just terrible
Amd boards were best in class though
Like there last board which was for x58
Is probably one of the worst x58 boards of all time

Looks cool as fuck though
The other thing I’m kinda sad is gone
They use to make vibrant uv coolant
And it’s just not really a thing anymore
The colors are because the plastic was uv reactive
Green and yellow are the most vivid uv colors
Well now you can enjoy gray.
black is alright
imbr i really like the new asus atx x870e boards
think the style is really cool personally

IMO, 4070 super, or 7800XT, or 6900XT
My 7800XT run very smooth 60fps on Linux, around 55- 60 fps depending of the area
Depending also where you are for CPUs. But i could hit 50-70FPS with 12400f. So a 7600X/14600k would be enough maxed out.
anyone running on a 9070xt getting constant crashes?
Not constant, but i can get it to consistently crash in places.
Putting the Core clock -300mhz apparently can fix it. I've tried myself and so far it's fine
Without the undervolt i could always get it to crash after picking up the artifact in the cave east of Rookie Village ||And the controller attacking||
Just strange, installed the game a couple days ago and got like 10+ hours with no crashes, then it started happening. I tried adjusting the core clock I think I only went to -250 and still got crashes. Guess I can try -300. Are you running TSR or FSR? Frame Gen?
I'm running the whole kit 😅 FSR Balanced, FG, near max graphics. Runs pretty well
I upgraded over a 3080 which near never crashed, but the Vram was limiting me
The game does have a bit of iffyness still, but going through that cave with it at -300 didn't crash for once so 🤷♂️ Different systems and such
For sure, I’ll try adjusting to -300 and see if it changes anything, I’ll try also going from quality to balanced, are you capping your frame rates?
I've got it capped at 120, but it's basically maxed out 😅
I play at 4K cause i'm a mad man xD So balanced isn't too bad
Good morning everyone. I'm new here, so I might make some mistakes, please excuse me. I received Stalker 2 as a birthday present and I'm loving the game. The game runs very consistently, without many problems on my PC which has an RTX 5060, Ryzen 5 5600x and 32GB of RAM. The problem is that at various times, when I get close to an NPC, or it just happens, the game has a huge FPS drop, to the point where I can't do anything and have to wait for it to stabilize. Could someone help me with this problem I'm experiencing?
The game is heavy on CPU. So you will experience lower FPS in populated areas, but not to the point you described.
Huge sudden FPS drop looks more like VRAM issue. With 8 GiB GPU you have to lower your settings (especially texture quality) and render resolution.
It's strange that it happens at times you least expect it. Right now, as I'm playing, the game is frozen at the moment I approached the junkyard technician.
Turn on some performance overlay (for example the Steam one) to monitor VRAM usage. Reduce your settings to the lowest and start adjusting from that point.
And I hope you are not trying to play at higher than 1080p with 8 GiB of VRAM 🙂
I'm not playing. I'm playing with the default settings and the game runs smoothly. It's in these moments that the game simply crashes, especially near NPCs that you have to interact with.
This is annoying. And I'm loving the game.
I had this issue on Windows and its completely gone on Linux. So its either AMD's Win drivers, Windows itself or the way UE5 interacts with Windows. Who knows. I've seen this problem being discussed before and have not seen a solution.
So this is due to Windows?
Oh wait NVM I see you got an RTX card. So its a different problem then.
What problem?
I didn't read the initial post properly. The issue I was talking about involved the drivers crashing.
thanks for the help, it looks like going to -300 might have fixed it? Going on 3 hours without a crash 👍
Still no crashes?
Nope, so far everything has been good, thanks again for the help
Can anyone help me with the issues I'm having that I posted in #❔┃seeking-for-advice
That's concerning.
In the past I remember the app breaking custom DLSS presets and stuff on unsupported titles, and I could imagine it blockading other stuff like that.
Theres still workaround to get it back
@little tide Might just be the area 🤔 Some places in the game are still iffy even with the undervolt
Not even a flagship kit

Here's why Steam Deck pricing's insane, whose fault it is, and what it means.

Does anyone know about this problem?
Have you done any steps I suggested you to do? Lower settings, monitor VRAM usage.
I did what you said and the same thing happens. At certain times when I get close to certain NPCs, or it just happens out of nowhere, the game freezes completely. Monitoring shows the GPU usage is at 100% during those moments.
GPU usage at ~100% is actually a good thing - this means you have no CPU bottleneck.
The point is that when the game is running smoothly, its usage stays at 70%, 80%, or even less. When it starts to lag and becomes unplayable, its usage jumps to 100%.
Nothing changes in the CPU when these freezes are occurring.
What res are you playing and what settings?
Do you use DLSS? FG? Something other? Do you got any other apps open in the background?
Also if so what DLSS version are you using
That just means that PC as a whole is cooked in the coming days, months, Years. No more PCs only CCs
Eh
From most reports a lot of prices are coming down
Valve is just seemingly unable to adapt to the current market
Ram is still bad. SSDs are bad. GPUs are bad. Now they want to increase the price of CPUs too. Getting good PC under 800 is going to be hard. Like prebuilds are costing over 950€. Under that price they dont have dGPUs lol.
Ive running much PCs and some servers and im hoping every days nothing is dying. To get new datacenter SSDs as example would hit my pocket like a rocket right now x.x Everythin so hard right now for PC enthusiats :/ had already to buy a replace 22TB Harddrive and was half dying on prices.
I hope prices coming down way more too, but GPUS are got cheaper after bitcoin too, but not like before..so i fear its with the other components too ... slight cheaper and then stays forever on this new pricesranges..
