After upgrading from Win10 to Win11 a couple weeks ago, I’ve noticed a recurring issue. When I alt tab out of a game, the desktop glitches out sometimes. Like I’ll be scrolling a web page and half the screen is scrolling whole the other half is stuck frozen for a few seconds. This never happened on win10.

Any ideas on what this could be? I was thinking about doing a clean win11 reinstall to try and fix it.

Hopefully you can keep it for longer. Just know that’s just a bandage. The damage is already done so the lifespan of it is shorter than other 14900k without damage.

I was able to download the new update (30 GB) 1.7 and I got to say with an almost 8 year old CPU (Ryzen 5 2600) and a MSI RTX 4070 8GB, and 16GB 2933 MHz RAM, the game performs much more better for me that the previous patch. 1.6 . I was having some serious stuttering when I was in Rostock. for some reason it was struggling to load the buildings, NPC, etc. other than that it is awesome to finally play this amazing game. In some games you could bur you'd already be getting more than 100 anyway. It'll help you get less noticeable fps drops though in stalker.

It takes a while to actually get a 100% stable oc. You have to test it in multiple games, multiple settings and other benchmarks. It's probably not worth it unless you just do it for the fun.

FSR4 for RDNA3 works on windows and it’s very easy. It’s just dragging and dropping some files and there’s little to no performance loss but a massive increase in visual fidelity via INT8. I thought I remember giving the files to you at some point. They’re just sitting on my desktop. Takes me about five minutes to get FSR4 running in almost any game I want.

The real difference between 30 and 40 fps is alot, and it depends how stable it is. But it won't feel great.
If I were you I'd wait to see what happens with the engine upgrade. You might have a better experience then.

Ideally you want to atleast reach a smooth 50 fps in the open world. Feels fine enough in stalker.

You can set the power setting in 2 ways. Either with just a Intel preset so you get 120W for the most time and sometimes for short time it will go up to 253, Or you set it manual and put both to 120W or 150W
