Guys 😭 I am today years old that i found out that HW AV1 in 7000 Series is bugged

They can even fix it cuz it hW related. If you encode video in AMD HW AV1 you will get left and right black bars. They are really smal but kinda sucks

If you set profile 1 to manual OC, 5250 on all 8 cores and then voltage at 1.25, it shouldn’t be constantly running at 5250mhz, just 1.25v

Mine runs anywhere from 500mhz to 1500 when idle, but runs at 5200~ under load depending on how heavy the load is

Unless Ryzen master is lying to my face and it is actually constantly running at 5250, and just displaying something completely off on the dashboard

You need to set it to fsr native or dlss or whatever your gpu supports

Yep, if you use them in native it works as Antiaaliasing
If you turn it off you have no AA so the game looks rough
Using them as AA will only reduce like 2 or 3 frames compared to no AA at all and it will make the game look better

I remember Cyberpunk releasing 4ish years ago. I was at 3440x1440 with a 2080 Super. That wasn't enough to allow me to play with the RT effects. DLSS allowed me to do it, even though DLSS 1.0 was hot garbage.

Since then, especially now at 4K, I run DLSS in every game its available in using the Quality preset. Though now, i'll be experimenting more and more with the Performance preset given how much its been improved.

If just using XeSS to do AA on a native resolution with no upscaling, it would stand to reason that would look the best.

You lose having it as a backup in the event of a GPU failure or for troubleshooting purposes. Also lose Intel QuickSync video encoding which is VERY good on the iGPU, would be useful if you streamed/recorded gameplay.

AMD Ryzen users survived for many years without an iGPU (until Ryzen 7000) just fine so ultimately its not the end of the world.

Steam showed the 127gb was today and it finished around 12:20 pm EST. Now this 11gb patch is coming. We'll see if it fixes my performance issues. The performance went down for me. And I can still cause the 10 fps drop by opening inventory or speaking to an NPC. I have only 6gb VRAM so I'm wondering if this game is just not built for it. If so, they need to up the min requirements.

I stopped playing this game weeks ago. I've actually gone back and I'm playing Doom 2016. I want to beat it on Nightmare and then Ultra Nightmare. Man, that game still looks awesome on my GTX-1660 and I have the graphical settings maxed out and I get 60 fps constantly. No weird artifacts or jank in the graphics. And yet, newer games look like garbage sometimes. Ugh.

I'm sorry, but Unreal Engine 5 is a mess. Every game I've tried to play with it is just not good, even though they say my GPU is supported. Yes, it's a GTX-1660, but supported to me means I should not be experiencing freezes or FPS drops to 10 fps and then have to pause and wait for it to recover, or exit out of the game. This happens in every UE5 game I've tried: Silent Hill 2 Remake, Robocop, Hellblade 2, and this game. I guess the only game I haven't seen it happen in is Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, but that has all sorts of other jank in it, and I cannot get a consistent FPS out of it, even though my card is above the min specs for that game. In fact, a GTX-1080 is the recommended GPU for NG2B.

I can attest that the performance mod I'm using, which tweaks further UE5 settings that aren't available in the game settings, definitely helps. I see increased framerates with it. It does reduce the graphical fidelity more, but depending on which ones you tweak, it doesn't hurt it too bad, so that it still appears like it would at all low settings, but with more FPS. At least on my GTX-1660 it does.

I was using a mod for my GTX-1660 which helped with FPS. I decided after this latest patch to remove those settings from the engine.ini file. I am getting better performance without than with the mod, which wasn't the case before today's 1.2 patch. So maybe they did fix some optimization issues? Pripyat was one where I was getting sub 30 fps. Now, I'm getting over 40 fps.

so I changed my settings to low with DLSS performance and inside a building I'm getting ~45fps with around 25ms frametime

before these patches the game would literally freeze my computer if I went near a specific trader

the way windows works it use all the cores it so not optimized

it has to be, because switching settings barely affect my fps, it only really makes the game dip lower more frequently if I set it to Ultra for an example, but it normally stays in the same range

my fps really takes a hit when i visit warlock, that's where it used to crash almost every time for me
