Thanks for your help earlier went and bought a new GPU just to get better frames lol
Literally no CPU can escape from this lmao. Look at his average framerates, pretty high right? Then look at how inconsistent his 1% lows are. It's not JUST that they're low, it's that they're fluctuating in a very volatile manner. Literally nothing is going on where he's at, yet look at how much his 1% lows fluctuate and how low they often get to
He’s got something else going on, not even my 13700K jumps that much at 3440x1440 with DLAA and FG, stays steady between 8-10ms with 1% lows in the 80s
https://youtu.be/dwrXG3vqCBM
Go to 26:05
Temps are high, frametimes jumping between 15-33ms at 2160p with DLAA and no FG…
Whatever he’s done to his system, it’s suboptimal
Yeah to be fair mine isn't THAT bad either, but it is pretty bad compared to what it should be
What I’m seeing is a GPU at 99% usage pegged, which means the main render thread isn’t choking, which means the CPU is holding up fine.
The 1% isn’t caused by the CPU here
In general, I've seen people with about the same specs report largely different results (even at same resolutions, upscaling, FG) so I don't really know.. any other game runs as it should for me. Stalker 2 has great average fps for me but the 1% is very strange
If you have abysmal 1% lows paired with GPU usage dropping from 90-99% to 80 or under, that’s when your CPU is causing the slowdown
They're not "abysmal", they're weird. They fluctuate alot even when I'm just idling
35-40fps for 1% lows is basically guaranteed for me. It goes from 90-100 1% to 35 then back to 90 and it's just so weird because (visually) nothing is going on, not even near NPCs
This boils down to every end user’s software being set up differently. I have a rather barebones copy of W10, 210 hours and no major issues so far. Even in Rostok my GPU stays between 90-99% usage, 1% lows between high 70s and mid 80s, average between 100-110.
While on the other spectrum, we have people with the same cards and CPUs struggling to break 60 in Rostok with the same settings
What CPU do you have?
5800X3D 4090
A fresh windows installation could be interesting, but too much of a hassle right now
You run anything else in the background while you play?
Not really, I should mention that the CPU and GPU utilizations fluctuate alot too, neither my CPU nor my GPU are maxed out, at least not always
A CPU should never be maxed out in a video game, atleast not yet. S2 uses between 4-6 cores, and SMT seems to make little difference from what I’ve seen
What resolution do you play at?
1440p, non ultrawide
The less your GPU has to do, the more your CPU has to pull. While the 5800X3D is a good gaming chip, it’s no pro-athlete at CPU intensive tasks, which unfortunately S2 very much is with Nanite usage instead of traditional LODs.
You’d benefit a lot from pushing your 4090 harder, leave upscaling behind, jump to 2160p etc
Turn hair down to medium, render distance to high
I've played around with every single setting, including performance mods that are supposed to help with stutters, I've tried all the popular ones. No matter what I do it won't become butter smooth :(
I mean that's true, but I don't think it would solve the 1% lows. It could make it less intense because the average framerate would be lower and so the drops would be less severe. I could just limit the fps for that, which I have, but when it's running at anything below 90fps it's not smooth enough for me
You should give a run in 1080p and pull up telemetry, see how your 5800X3D is handling it, at epic settings.
From there, I would turn down settings that have a bigger impact on CPU utilization, and increase those that impact GPU utilization.
Hair is an absolute killer and doesn’t provide much visual fidelity beyond medium in my opinion, render distance is obviously a personal preference
Here’s a silly suggestion, find a way to turn Reflex off
"find a way"?
I can just turn it off. Unless you mean some kind of trick to also use FG at the same time?
Reflex limits the max frames rendered ahead, which is great for input latency, but the moment something “spontaneous” happens, the CPU isn’t ready for it, causing a small to substantial stutter based on the size of the instruction set
I.e ;
You’re walking around garbage, all is well.
A-life spawns a group of NPCs that have just walked into your visible/online bubble
Reflex has caused the CPU to not be able to anticipate this, thus having to send the instruction to the main render thread on the fly.
Stutter.
I could get behind that, and I'm not sure if I've tried it before
I wrote a 3300 word essay for SPT Tarkov on optimization/why things run as bad as they do, Reflex was a major offender in people’s stuttering experience during raids.
Because anytime AI Scavs/PMCs would spawn, the limited frames rendered ahead would cause a massive stutter, as opposed to reflex off
Are you using any parameters on steam?
Nope
Any optimization mods?
https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/17
this one IIRC, requires some manual tweaking to your specific hardware
Exactly this for me as well
7800X3D tho
Otherwise same settings and same results
and I use Frameview to check PC latency which is in the 40-50s
My 9800X3D arrives today and I am struggling to contain my excitement, mostly because I can now also get my server rig back up and running
Ooo very nice! Apparently it has really nice gains in Stalker 2 compared to the 7800X3D at all resolutions, I know you're coming from 13700k but either way
Yeah, the 9800 is an undisputed beast. And a worthwhile upgrade as I get a jump on my main rig, and a massive one for my server rig (5800X)
The little 8 core champ has quite literally ran out of cores to give
And while I’m sure the 9800X3D would be no slouch compared to the 5800X, it’d be a massive waste to let it run servers, especially the ones that require upwards of 6 cores to run at full speed
lol Yeah would definitely be a waste as a server CPU
I’ll let the 16 on the 13700K sort that one out
One of my servers requires a physical core per car to run at full sim speed, we usually have between 12-16 people on at any given time
and you were using 8 before
Which I'm sure was fine but still
Probably a bit of server lag from time to time
It wouldn’t run properly, so I’m having to host the dedicated server and client on the same machine
Oh okay
Seeing 80-90% CPU usage is truly something while sim racing
and toasty too
Especially for something that came out in 2014, still looks amazing though
55-60c, contact plate + 360 AIO
Got a contact plate for the 9800 too, I’m sure it doesn’t even need it, but for 15$ I’ll be happy if it makes a 2-3c difference
I could breathe on it and it would stay below 50
Lol I'm the same way , plus it looks nice even though you can't see it
I was just rambling to a friend on what a shame it is that you can’t see them once they’re on, they look awesome
https://imgur.com/a/pMQ3Ptx This was mine when I installed it awhile back
Stuff looks clean🔥
I’ll send one of mine later today when it’s in
Damn, guess I’m staying on W10 for the motherboard and CPU swap
yup stay on it, that's what I should have done but too damn lazy, I'd prob revert if I actually played anything
issue was confirmed back in like early december. some games had to do hotfixes to not crash. other games much worse performance. mainly ubisoft games but apparently others
Yeah just gonna copy my license key, back up my server files onto one SSD then nuke my OS drive and reinstall W10 barebones again to clear all the Intel and Z690 stuff out
i actually don't think there will be a fix. they'll just remove it when all large partners have updated their games to not crash. thats what I think 😄
cause if these issues are due to kernel level changes, like, what are they going to do, revert those changes? doubt it
Red flags when AMD has to come knocking on MS’ door when they figured out their chips weren’t performing equally to what they should
yeah it seems gaming is secondary. which for anyone owning a gaming pc, feels a little ridiculous
at the same time, theres a shit load of games running different code, so it kind of seems inevitable they'll break shit anytime they do large fundamental changes but
feels bad
real question is was this due to security fixes or was it due to totally stupid shit we didn't even need 99% of the time?
Usually the latter
how much you wanna bet it was changes in prep for copilot 😀
Atleast 50$
Its turning out to be a trend with alot of software had to deal with Western digital telling me I'm losing my mind but all 3 AMD systems I had the software doesn't work but works fine on intel.
Who knows when western digital/SanDisk will ever fix their software
ah yes when intel is bribing companies to botch performance on AMD
Believe less so that MS is intentionally undermining AMD, as Intel chips got a slight uplift as well, just not as big as the Ryzen chips did
wen patch wen wen
waiting for steamos to become mature & support nvidia 🙏🏻
It is time
Nice
Low end
Do not worry, I also bought a Ryzen RX4070TI-SuperXTX to go with it
XD
@pure ibex
Got em
Thanks mate
Consumers: wtf you doing amd?
Amd: i dont know either
Me and my friend, we both had absolutely broken GRAPHIC drivers after upgrade to 9800x3d
So u can try to ddu drivers
I always nuke my drives and start with a fresh OS whenever I swap motherboards
Hel nah xd
I tried to keep old, waaaay to much work to reinstall everything.
I tried to do that by taking my old m.2 to my new motherboard but there was so many issues and bsods i had to wipe it and install windows fresh to fix it
For now i manage to keep same drive and system for like 7 or 8 years.
i went from a dell prebuilt to a msi z790 pro, so that mightve been the issue
Oh jesus. Yea, prebuilt os install is ads infested cancer
yeah it was an, experience. 3060 11700 build for $1100 when the gpu prices were peaking so pretty good deal tho
On amd you have to bruh lmao
The windows install will be totally cooked till you do lmfao
Hit your pc with a hammer it helps
Should have seen me trying to get pcie raid to work
You gotta add the driver during windows install
Or it won’t work
Ever
It works for now. Pretty stable (for overclocked xd), proper performance. I will reinstall if it will be required, but for now it works good
In my experience the old chipset drivers will totally mess things up
But if it works it works
I never had intel with this os, from 3800x, through 5000 to 9800x3d
As far as i know moving from intel to amd is guaranteed reinstall
Nuh uh
Nh d15g2 has to work with lid xd
Us the water block for it
Directly mounts to cpu face with no lid
Maximum possible performance
Not guaranteed. If you're savvy enough to know what to remove and prep beforehand, this works most of the time. Windows is pretty good about it these days.
What trips people up more often is MBR/GPT mixups.
Normal people just pulling a drive and slapping it in hoping for the best though, that rarely goes well.
Best is that, there is no point xd
Under 70⁰C, 5,6 all core with just -30mV
Yes, u can. But windows really doesnt like that switch.
Well, having done this numerous times with modern Windows, I disagree. All about the prep.
Overlock higher than

Record is 8,02
Sooo, there is a chance xd
almost had to do that to my 14900kf, would throttle with a tower cooler
had to get a contact frame and AIO so i could actually run games
Get a cpu with v cache blows the intel out of the water
I use it for a lot of workstation stuff
only things faster for non-gaming are threadrippers and really expensive server based cpus
I mean the Ryzen 9 vcache are a good balance in my experience
Shame you won’t be able to see the contact plate once the cooler is on
Intel still is good for some applications like freecad since it's purely single threaded
lol i like the way people say get a better cpu to people with a 14th gen i9 lol
But have you tried getting a better CPU? 9950X3D is releasing soon, chop chop
For gaming it's perfectly fine. Workstations is also good but if another CPU can make it run 10% faster in work tasks it can be worth it
if someone already has a 14th gen i9 you dont change that... its just plain stupid
And the 9950x
They oc to be faster than 14900k
Unless it has issues, in that case I would definitely change it.
Otherwise, if your CPU works fine, why upgrade?
If it wasn’t for my server rig needing an uplift, I’d still be running my 13700K in my main rig
any sort of upgrade is too expensive and its good for what i need to do, nothing really holds me back cpu wise
i think the only upgrade I could do is password/hash cracking by getting a threadripper lmao
Gaming you are right workstations are debatable depends if you value time or cost more
im running a 4070 ti/14900kf on 1440p@180hz, pretty much runs perfectly fine for me
only lack of fps i ever get is stalker 2 or a few games with ultra settings/ray tracing
You got the 14900k for workstation not just gaming right?
workstation yeah
i wouldve went with amd if all i did was gaming
pretty much a really good workstation that is also pretty good with games build
24 cores is nice since my fps is stable even when im running a virtual machine or three
Don't blame you I went with AMD for being a jack of all trades with their 7950x3d. Does workstation tasks perfectly and gaming extremely well
im more of a if it works it works guy, amd/intel fight doesnt matter to me
I did av1 encoding with the 7950x3d and it still did amazing for being CPU only 70-80fps
i9 is really good at password cracking too and i usually do it for friends/ctfs
Real. for me and had the cheaper option bundle than intel had
brings down the time from like 8-10h to 1-2h
https://youtu.be/37yHH3YR7jM?si=C3LCQzBFff5xiKjF this thing is gonna be beast. Fully Metal Shroud
My friend did this but his target was my Roblox account he finally got in
im surprised he didnt get ip banned from roblox for brute forcing lol
Professional pentester and what does he do in his spare time attack my roblox
Not password crack he did cookies by putting a keylogger on my pc
Funny they finally using thermal pads now, I been using these for my CPU and GPUs
yeah never trust stuff from tech/cyber friends lmao
refuse .pdfs
He put it in my pc right before I rebuilt it and I caught it lol
Ngl it was pretty funny to get a video of him playing Roblox on my account
thats sick
My favourite thing to do when a friend's pc is unlocked unattended is make a task to have a 1/20 chance to swap language to Arabic or chinese
Then it just starts a week or two later
Is it worth after beating the game to load a save before the last part to explore the stashes and places i left behind? Or i do this wen the next patch comes out?
i did it to get the rest of the achievements
i always change their discord/pfps to a train and download random shit lmao
ah crap just realized that i am in that part that i can't explore anymore, door locked, guide wont travel... even at the ||cooling plant with Ritcher|| cant scape from there, deleted my saves before that.... Will have to wait and hope for a patch that players can explore the zone after ending or will start a new game from zero but not now
Im gonna go for achievements after I finish all the endings
only you can answer that question
most of them will just have sausages and vodka and medkits
i'd save the rest of the content for next playthrough tbh
She lives
Just upgraded from my old i9 9900k / 16GB / 4090FE to 9800x3D / 32GB / 4090FE and what a difference. Smooth as a 21 year olds ass 🙂
the 5070 will have 4090 perf
with 3 quaters of the frames being fake
and 50% VRAM
got the 9800x3d?
Wait for the 11800x3d
wonder if they are going to keep the same naming structure or change it when they do the next gen ryzen 10000 or go ot ryzen ai naming scheme like their mobile
outrageous sentence
Aye
Now just fighting Microsoft nonsense.
Logged into account linked to previous windows license

“Can’t activate because used on previous device”

Windows is free if yk where to look
I know, but I have a linked account and a key, so theoretically it should be a one click thing.
If it works
But this is MS we’re talking about
Yeah changing motherboards made it want a new key and even ms support didn't help
it's been a minute but I seem to remember having to log into my ms account and removing the previous device from there for my key to work on a new board replacement
Yeah tried that already
Weird thing is, on the exact same MS account, in my system it shows completely different systems than on my MS account through the browser… Tried removing the account and logging back in, etc etc
Just ended up brute forcing it, screw MS
hi all, thought i'd throw my specs into the mix, 13700k, 3090ti fe, 32gig runs great
I know this is kinda odd but... is there ANY chance deleting older saves improves/stabilizes performance?
Bruh the memory leaks are killing me, I play the game 30-40 mins and then all of a sudden frames drop to 10-20 fps and the game is unplayable. I heard that disabling frame gen helps with it but tried it and it didn't change anything but drop my consistent frames from 80+ to 50-60. I hope they patch this in the next update
The Microsoft experience
Real
i hate one drive and how it dumps my old files all over my desktop on a new pc
very unlikely. save is just a snapshot of game's state saved into a file. the game doesn't keep them in memory all the time. it just scans for save files when you load last save or when you're in save/load menu. other than that the game does not touch them.
in theory the only time it would benefit is when you click load save button when it scans for saves. but it is gonna be so small it doesn't matter
did you get a cpu and mobo upgrade only or did you get more ram as well. i saw the x870
god i have done nothing productive this break
Sometimes thats the most productive action, doing nothing.
should've been working on python to understand the basics better since im doing deep learning for a class next semester and i have no python experience lol
Split my 64 gigs 50/50 between the old board and the new, so 32 gigs for the server and 32 for the main rig
god bless the server pc. it craves more power
https://imgur.com/a/AL1dFj7
Don't forget about drives
15 yr old drives are still going strong in this pc and my server where i got 10 hgst drives
I’m hoping a single 970 EVO will be enough for now, 2TB should be plenty for the servers I’m running currently
heads up 1 sata ssd can handle 2vms and as the OS drive for proxmox before it activly attempts suicide
if you got sas connectors ebay is your friend. servermonkey on there got lot of 10 3tb drives for 90$
i bought a set and only got to 4% usage and plan to 1.5x the size again but not for raw storage but to get redundancy so i can lose over half the pool
I mean I still have my NAS collecting dust, I don’t really need more storage
Server rig will be focusing on game servers anyway, which usually aren’t that big
All in all, my current lineup is about 75GB worth of dedicated servers, and ~30GB of data
I got one server doing everything. Proxmox as the OS the pass through all my HDDs to a truenas VM for Nas and then use cube coders amp for game hosting
Nice to make the entire pc all in one solution. Works amazing so far
What's the best upscaller
If you have nvidia
Dlss
If you have amd then you can choose between fsr or xess try them both and see which one you like the most (i dont really like tsr on this game)
https://youtu.be/ORXoOKND1Tk
I always love these
One nuked NVME and W10 barebones install later, we’re so back
Nice, I recently did a BIOS update and fresh install

Feels good, feels speedy
Gonna be some good old racing for me tomorrow, practice for a 12 hour endurance race on spa with a mate
Damn that's a sick setup , what card is that in there?
Is that an Aorus model?
Thanks mate!
4070Ti-Super, Gigabyte EAGLE OC
Ah Eagle model ok nice
Was on sale for 830 a year ago, couldn’t let that slide as the wife wanted a new card as well, so she got my old 4070 model
Which is also an Eagle OC, just non-Ti/Super
Ah yeah definitely, very nice tho
I used to have a Gigabyte Gaming OC model and then sold that to a friend an got an ASUS Strix
Is the shroud on that metal?
It is for the Ti-Super, normal 4070 was plastic around the fans and sides with a metal backplate
This one’s metal all around except for the fan face
Kind of surprised it hasn’t started sagging yet, forgot how heavy it was until I held it again earlier tonight
Yeah , that's how the Gaming OC was too, just metal back plate which was kinda disappointing to me but whatever lol, that's nice that yours is tho besides the fan face
Nearly dropped it too
Bet that felt good lol
I mean, honestly glad the fan face isn’t metal, any heavier and I’d be worried about it snapping the PCIe slot
And due to the upwards facing fan duct on the H5 Flow case, I can’t put a support in there
True but pretty much all PCIe slots are reinforced nowadays and do you use the support bracket or stand or nah?
oops nvm lol
Damn yeah that'd worry me a bit too then lol
Nope, card’s too long + the duct leading straight into a 140mm fan
Yeah cause on the Strix everything is metal
That’s gotta be heavy I imagine
Aye, thing looks amazing not gonna lie
Right lol , not even an ASUS fanboy tbh but that thing is sick
ROG definitely wouldn’t be my choice of card/brand, but they look phenomenal
I wish there were smaller aib designs
With how small the PCB is on the 5090 founders edition, surely we’ll get a small board partner variant.
Surely…
2070 Aorus Xtreme is probably the best looking card I've used
So far all 4 slot monsters
Are they actually 4?
Surely... right?... surely.

yeah they all over 3 which basically means 4 lol, like the ROG Astral is 3.8
I mean I will take any 5090 I can get closest to msrp
Yeah I haven't taken the time to look at all the models yet, I know LTT and HUB and some others have videos, need to go watch em but so far I'd be happy with an FE or that ROG Astral lol
Rog astral is cool but I don't want such a large card. If the FE doesn't overheat I am extremely happen with it. But if the astral is slightly better oh well. Depends what I get my hands on
Probably wouldn’t even fit in my case.
Hell the 5080 might even be too long
I didn't even bother to look at length, I just was looking at the thickness lol
There’s a silly bracket running from bottom to top of my case where most of the cables route to the motherboard
The 4070Ti-S is already like 2cm off from hitting it
And the bracket extends to about 1/3rd depth of the card
Is it one of those brackets that attaches to the mobo or whatever?
Worst part? I don’t see any rivets or screws, it looks bend from one piece of Alu
Not necessarily, not sure if you can see it in the previous Imgur link I posted, it’s right against the end of the card
nah the reflection on the glass blocks it, I was just lookin at it for reference
Gimme a sec, I’ll get a better picture
Sweet
where the 24 pin passes alongside
Almost as tall as the DIMMs themselves
Oooooh I didn't realize it was an NZXT Case, yeah those things, so you're saying the GPU almost hits that?
Pretty much, one more pic coming up
I didn't realize it poked out that much on those cases
Okay not half as bad as I made it out to be, but it’s still in the way of a longer card regardless, unless I bend it backwards
just remembered you said this too lol, shoulda known it was NZXT case but whatever
Pre-Scumpany purchase
and ah yeah okay that is pretty close
I will say, the airflow on this thing is absolutely amazing for a midi case
You mean before their recent scam thing that happened with the rent a PC or whatever?
That’d be the one
Would have bought an H11 next, but I don’t support those practices, regardless if they affect me or not
Yeah iirc GN (Gamers Nexus) did a review and said NZXT actually made a good case lol
Compared to those old Alienware looking cases, like coming across a Type 3 civilization
There’s still one of those white barcode stickers around a cable in my case, it’s comfortably being send along at the speed of light.
Amazing way to measure airflow
Dude, those things were so bad, and it was just big pieces of plastic slapped onto like an OEM case
thermals were atrocious too
One of my long time gaming buddies bought one of those fugly things around the same time I got my Fractal Arc Midi R2
Oh the endless hours spend crying from laughter hearing him complain about how hard his stuff was throttling even with a decent noctua tower cooler
And he didn’t even get a bad setup, I have no idea what got in his head for the case choice though
4790K, Z97G5, 2666MHz DDR3 16GB and an R9 290X IIRC
One of my buddies had one of those as well and same exact thing lol, always complaining about temps and throttling
and yeah idk it was really hyped up stuff at one point
I can sort of understand wanting a nice looking case, but it didn’t even look that nice, cheap if anything.
There were far better picks out around 2014
Definitely
It's been long time since I played last time, are there any new fixes that I should download for better performance for the new patch?
If it was unplayable then, it's probably still unplayable now unless the reason you had bad performance was related to memory leaks or other stuff and not just general performance
** MY JOURNAL, DAY 1 **
*** Day 47 in the Zone:
Dear diary, something weird is happening. All the bloodsuckers have started wearing tiny bowties and monocles. I saw one sipping tea with a Controller yesterday - pinky up and everything! They were discussing quantum physics, I think? Hard to tell when one's trying to eat your brain telepathically.
The Duty guys have converted their base into a modern art gallery. There's just a single burnt bolt in the middle of an empty room. They keep calling it 'The Essence of Radiation' and stroking their chins thoughtfully.
Freedom's entire base smells like lavender now. They swear it's not weed - apparently, a Burner anomaly started spitting out essential oils. The hippie levels are off the charts.
Sidorovich has started accepting interpretive dance as payment for supplies. My moonwalk got me three bandages and a can of tourist's delight. My Fortnite dance attempts got me shot at, but that's fair.
The zombies have started a book club. They only read one page per month, but their discussions about comma placement are surprisingly passionate.
Oh, and I found a mysterious artifact that turns everything into cheese. EVERYTHING. My gun now shoots moldy cheddar. Send help.
Confused Stalker
P.S. A pseudodog just asked me for my Wi-Fi password. I don't know what's real anymore." ***
Anyone noticed when using DLSS things in the distance when moving look blurred until you stop moving then it corrects it self. If you use AMD FSR, I don't see that problem, it's sharp and does not change. I want to use DLSS but I'm having to use FSR for better image quality.
can i run stalker with these Specs: 8gb ram, GTX 1650 2.60 GHZ CPU 11th gen intel core I-5 11400F (i know i can arleady Run anomaly since i played it and it runs just fine, my expectations arent high i just want 45 fps on Medium)
you can get pc gamepass for a pound and try it but its quitw cpu heavy my pc sometimes struggles and it has i think 4.8 ghz
and also inteseive on ram
I upgraded my rig the other day from an i9 9900k / 16GB / 4090FE to a AMD Ryzen 7 9800 X3D / 32GB / 4090FE and I must say it's made a MASSIVE improvment in the games proformance. It was good before, more than playable with the odd stutter here and there but now it's butter smooth. Shame I can't progress with the main story as it's bugged out so I'm just wondering the zone
ye im cooked. sticking to Gamma and Anomaly i guess
I mean theyve got this frame gen thing in stalker 2 it does increase performance quite a lot
s2 is way more resource hungry than anomaly. I'm not even sure you can run it and get 25 fps with your specs.
steam gives you 2 hrs to try. i think that should be enough to find out if it's playable for you.
maybe you would get the 45 fps u want but the setting itself is still kind of buggy too
DLSS is just like that
I wouldn't risk it also without upgrading my rig
i know about 2 hours, but i dont really want to waste time downloading when i arleady know the results so probably wont Play.
as it takes WAAAAAAY more temporal smples than FSR so DLSS often ends up with better fine detail reconstruction and is often more stable
for fg to work smoothly you need at least 60fps as a base. otherwise there will be huge input lag
But that can lead to being more blurry in motion
Ohh, i guess that explains why the game is feeling much smoother now since i turned it off XD
Is there an optimization guide that people generally use or am I going to have to wing it and figure it out myself?
you could either just play with the settings or get some of the mods off nexus
Okay. Thanks
With that gpu you cant get to 30 on this game but there are potato mods out there
Leave Hair and shaders on medium for more stable framerate too
That's a big help, thank you
I used this: https://youtu.be/FzOP2ZXoM2E
The guy in the video walks through each of the settings and shows the difference in FPS and visuals, so you can decide for yourself what you want.
Perfect, thanks
16gb minimum of system ram, 32gb recommended so you're already below the minimum requirements there. As far as Anomaly, that is not using Unreal Engine 5, so I would expect it to run fine on your machine. You're going to need to upgrade.
I'm on a Ryzen 5 3600, 32gb dual channel DDR4-3200 RAM, GTX-1660 with 6gb of VRAM, and I can "play" it on low settings with FSR 3.1 Quality and get around 50-60 fps out in the Zone. When I'm in settlements, it's a different story. Usually 40 fps, sometimes lower. I can get it to run at a steady framerate of 30 FPS if I lock my framerate to 30 via RTSS, but it's too jump for me.
I have enabled FSR frame gen, and I can get 60 fps pretty well, even in settlements. I can't play with mouse and keyboard as the response is too slow that way, but with controller, it feels okay. There's still some lag but not bad.
With FSR FG on or off, I still experience the same amount 5-10 fps drops in Settlements, so I just leave it on. What I have noticed is my VRAM nor my system RAM are not maxed out, but my GPU utilization goes to 100. Usually, the VRAM is around 5.6gb used out of 6. Normally, that's not an issue until I get into Settlements. So not sure why that is nor what is causing the GPU to spike, while the CPU doesn't. So I don't think it's A-Life, it's something else.
btw 32 gb isnt that much anymore i -got mine for £50 if you want the link
the best thing you can upgrade on a pc imo
sometimes with stalker 2 I feel like I need 64gb ram already lol
is this game significantly more optimized yet?
hesitant to reinstall since it seems quite unlikely that they've 'fixed' the performance :/
yeh lmao upgraded to 64gb as i got another 32 for christmas feels so smooth now
but so much better to buy now after the pc depression of 2020
can get most pc components for cheap
yeah ais alot better but i found the best way to optimise is to follow a tutorial on youtube with simmilar specs tried there presets and all where pretty poort
also frame generation isnt that bad
i can send the vid i found if you want it
no i've tried those, i've tried the engine edits on nexus, none of it is really significant. I've lowered the hair settings lol
ah when was this
back when it was maybe 1-2 patches post launch
might be worth a second try
one big thing is putting it on an ssd, an hdd will tank any abiltiy to play
I have on ssd
m.2 or usb/sata. either way should still be good
Have ryzen 5600x, 4060 and 32gb ram
odd
sata
i cant quite rember how to but a function of nvidia geforce experince is automatic overclocking lets you juice the cpu without any risk
do tell how you got cheap 64gb kit tbh
I currently have 2 16gb cl15 3200mhz tho
2 32gb kits of these had one for a couple years
bit on the slower side but looks quite nice and fucntion really well
well I want 2x32gb tbh
and with good cas latency
ah fe im running four sticks as it was cheaper but heard that if you want to run high preformance or ddr5 stick with 2
go with royal trident heard there very good
I'm on AM4 platform with ddr4
Its about the same for me as release
A lil bit better framepacing tho
If you want the best get SK Hynix A Die RAM and adjust the timings yourself
And before you say you don’t know how, there’s Google and YouTube
if you can find them either in amazon.de I'm down
I’ll try n look for ya
found only ddr5
need ddr4
Samsung B die then
Those are SK Hynix CJR die iirc, still good but can’t do as tight timings as the Samsung b die
That’s if you care that much lol
I mean I don't plan to go am5 or x570
it's pointless at this stage since then I need new ram cpu and motherboard or just motherboard and ram
I currently am on x470 motherboard
ah nvm ddr5 is only on am5 still pointless to change to x570
Yeah you’re fine then to just get those, what I’m talking about is really for OCing
I already have 32gb ddr4 from corsair at cl15 3000mhz stock oc to 3200mhz
timings are 15-17-17-32
Oh you want 64?
yeah but as dual stick since no space to populate all 4 slots 1st is covered by cpu cooler
and AMD cpus don't like quad anyway
I didn’t even pay attention my bad, and yeah they don’t at least not with the higher frequencies and timings
I mean isn't worst but it will just run as x2 dual channel
finding c15 c16 64gb 3200mhz isn't easy sadly anymore
since c17-c18 3600mhz took over
https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Trident-PC4-28800-CL16-19-19-39-F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC/dp/B07WTS8T2W/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1BKBGICW7BE1Q&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.DOxTuUS4x80OKyYYFeIWigeg-5B3CpwJj45GNhQoPVsv0tB4M7Ac9jx5ewJx05KiTUNRCl0saoGU8ZrYKk2OmM60UKoHmdqNm2BRoZmJmfD36M7CrA9KlXyJB43fFfw8KC9yRW3qyU0-LNgoo8e1FShfYvqY7jlQJD7kXp7tysJFzU4uq4lzq1DqbXtCX5XCqgYmimQ_1OQP_UUljlUDftXh2PfCl03XDOSzGtyNBiQ.ngMG7vlfCLpsfudtY7fZbWmWDV_tLKU0DkvOh76YJUY&dib_tag=se&keywords=ddr4+3600+c17&qid=1736625447&sprefix=ddr4+3600+c17%2Caps%2C163&sr=8-2 this would be decent set but again only 32gb so same as I have now
only difference 3600mhz and 16-19-19-36
but then I would also need to source it locally where I am
and again back to 3200 and worse timing
so quite bad comparison only for double ram with worse timing ig
3600 with low cas at 64gb kit would be perfect
I found these, I was looking for C14 but hard to find in 64gb https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-ddr4-3600/p/N82E16820374061
if only I was in USA
Can you look those up and find em tho?
not the best timing tho 16-22-22-42
I've seen c16 with 16-19-19-36
can I dm you?
Sure
Anyone else excited for the 9070xt?
I am sad that they are abandoning the older cards. So no FSR4. And i am only gonna buy UDNA cards and skip the rest of RDNA
due to me already having 6800xt honestly not
at most I'll get 7900xt or GRE as upgrade and slot this 6800xt in 2ndary system
I was surprised with the performance of the non xt in cod but theres really nothing else notable to go off of for me
from what i seen it is gonna be rdna 4 only for a while they are trying to get it on rdna 3 but their reasoning is they are doing what nvidia did with ai models. they can't guarentee that it will work on older cards as well as it will on rdna4
I feel like they did this with fsr or afmf on 6xxx vs 5xxx or even 500 series cards
and also makes sense why nvidia locked MFG to their 50 series only. needs more AI TOPS for it to work as well as it does on 50 series
For either manu, there isnt any 3rd party performance reviews where they get to sit down and test a wider variety of games. I am waiting to see who all shows stalker though
honestly i am really happy with the rtx 50 series yeah no major performance gains for native gaming but 3x the performance for tensor cores is amazing
i......am
Thye showed close to 20-30% native gain I think
we dont know...... yet
i'll keep the hopium going for my brother (who is on a 7900XT )
also everyone on RDNA 3
5070 = 4090 + 75% fake frames:)
i just hope they price it reasonably
like 480-400€ that is what i expect
leak in philipines says 600
600 for 9070xt which honestly is fair
"leak" in this case = photoshop
: i will NEVER belive that a storesite would "accidentally" put an unrealeased product on their website
it happens more than you think accidently pushing a website update but it has the product pages avalible before they are
I think they would drop to 549 before it was release for 600
IDK : it would prolly not be waaaaayy faster than the 5070 so and the 5070 has + 50% fake frame capabitlity sooo + DLSS 4 will look bettter than FSR 4.....
from the benchmark leak it was slightly better than 4080 super
🤔
are you talking about the..... BO 6 "leak" (backrooms benchmark by IGN)
no 3dmark
then....
maaaaayybe they can price it like a 5070
but the 5070 has + 50% the fake frames capability
so the masses might not care
BC of the whole 5070 = 4090 BS
theres always ali express
it might be price drop since they are launching afterwards and no offical msrp probably due to waiting for 5070 permance embargo to be released
ebay/ facebook best bet ngl for ddr4
yeah........
also i am 90% certain that those "native" bencharts NVIDIA showed were also cherry picked
well duh they are. its their job for marketing
why would they care about showing worst case scenario their goal is to sell not the opposite
and HUB Steve tweeted that he was gonna stand on a roof..... (for the 5070 one)
and if you didnt know : HUB Steve standing for a reveiw = BAD product
if he is sitting he is at least mildly exited
and if he is lying down then he likes the product a lot ( think 9800X3D )
that could just be BC NVIDIA LIED
i never buy till i see GN performance breakdown. nobody does it better
same
then again im skipping 50 series.
❓ i think if you wanna get a relative perf thing HUB is the way to be go....
i mean they didn't lie just it wasn't clear it wasn't native performance but rather dlss performance
well.......true
technically
but either way they were being misleading
and HUB doesnt take too kindly to that.....
honestly nvidia has suprpassed their goal for this generation. they weren't focused on native performance but rather AI. which they did get 3x increase from last gen. and better tensor and rt core performance. overall this has been one of the biggest leaps in a generation. but for ai not raster
i'm also kinda (already) hyped for UDNA..
maybe AMD will finally be able to compete in AI / Workstation perf (on desktop)
most people could care less about native perf anymore lol.
yeah ima get a 9800x3d or something way before i upgrade a gpu
not for the first gen after this nvidia slam dunk
nobody gonna buy it for that though... nvidia is too good with encode/render
well.....i think this 6600 is a bigger problem for me than my 5600G ...... so i might buy RDNA 3 / RDNA 4 in the nex few months
everyone on nvidia for work station right now will definitely stay on it
yeah. i have a 4070S so its like, even in 5 years i could likely do 1080p on new games
so its whatever basically for me personally
i mean AMDs AV1 encode trades blows with NVIDIA's from what i've seen.... ( if thats what you meant by "encode" anyway)
yeah most likely only ai developers will upgrade for home workstations but cad modelers not as much since its really vram they need
stability. nvidia is locked in. they have to totally screw the pooch for people to change
im gonna need an upgrade : BC i think next year my RX 6600 a 720p card will turn into a 144p card:)
OK maybe not 144p but
still not gonna be a 720p card next year
now that nvidia has the most vram on consumer cards it won't change for sure until amd gets to 32gb vram
Why you say it's only capable of 720p
BC it quite literally** is**
I'm surprised how 3k series and 4k series consumer gpus from nvidia have less vram than 6800 or 7800 lol
(well 720p upscaled to 1080p but still runin games at 720:( )
I mean 3060 3070 4060 4070
i mainly speaking for workstation focused not to mention cuda being the best for them like intel has been for the cpu side
Nvenc is one of nvidias best ideas
nvenc is gonna die to av1 now
yea upscaling with 1080p looks so trash in this game for example. huge blur, needs 1440p badly to see anything
RTX was supposed to die with the 20 series and its still here
💯
ray tracing is a really good technology and has clear benefits in games just hard to keep up on the hardware side for now. still really nice for blender tho
and at low settings this game doesn't even look good really
lol
hell reflections look bad even at max settings without mods
i have gotten used to such things ( i played on a VEGA 3 iGP for 4~years)
yeah i played a lot of stalker 2 on a 2070 super. was rough
their goal was to bait everyone into thinking that a 5070 is as good as a 4090, and clearly they succeeded
man i was using my old 1060 rig for a month came back to my 3080ti rig and man this feels so nice to have the screenspace and responsiveness
and by the way : it was hooked up to a 3200U which had 8Gb of 2400mhz RAM
ive been testing out Anomaly and I can do 90fps seemingly regardless of location, max screenspace shaders, at 1440p. its sick
you think the 2070 was rough?😂
i used to have to play that at 1080p to get decent fps
it was, cause I still had to upscale from 720p 😂 looks bad man
but yes, could have been much much worse
yeah it does even with DLSS i imagine...
yes even with dlss, dlss can't fix that resolution
these are the settings i used to play ark evolved on : https://imgur.com/a/KD3iqyp
it also looks great!
ark is the most shit optimized game ever
nah : not as much as this is the OG version
when it came out it was still shit
especially the crash note😂 https://imgur.com/a/GmuvvyP
well
i get 40~ fps on my RX6600 W res scale set to 100%
meanwhile the remaster gets me that much fps when rendering at 720p
but that game also has FSR FG
so i usually play at 60+
But it does NOT feel like 60+
fg under stable 60 fps def seems useless to me
but i swear I've heard people who use fg at 30 fps 🧐
this stupid game just crashed again🤬
some people say they just don't notice the latency, idk if i believe them
i think the next big goal for Frame gen is a way to tract your movement during the ai frames
aaand again🤬
i guess if they're playing on a bad tv or monitor that has like 20 ms latency they might 🤔 tbh i think that or they're used to 30 fps cause idk how its possible to not notice that
i've thought about the monitor thing myself. like mine is like 4.3ms. but i know a lot of old ones are like 10-15 some tvs even 20 ms
Same kind of people who dont care how blurry the image is
real
I can see that if they play a lot of games with mouse smoothing enabled. Smoothing has that bit of latency as well; fairly similar anyway.
makes sense
tho blurry you can kind of get used to, if you're stuck with it, but i cannot get used to bad latency personally
high latency just feels awful, rather play at 30
the peolpe that said DLSS 1.0 looked good
tho when I was younger i def played fps on consoles with like 30 fps so...seems at some point I was used to it, but thats insufferable now
yeah for sure. even 30 fps tho just feels bad haha
It really sucks to notice the blur since UE 4 is absolutely abysmal when it comes to that and UE5 havent really improved on that aspect
yeah lesser of two evils tbf
i've just stopped playing for now
idk i remember playing like the outer worlds and thinking it looked amazing, plus had high fps, great performance, but maybe if I go back now ill see the blur 🧐
it was good for how early on it was. wasn't good but a good start in the direction
for anyone on lower specs this game would be much more pleasant to play on if it were ue4 tho thats for sure
it doesn't help its on 5.1 which simply put, has bad cpu performance
5.5 in comparison has like x2 the cpu performance
But hey one good thing about everyone flocking to UE5 is that you basically for the most part know performance after playing 1 game lol
real
is that why I see only a few cores getting any real utilization in stalker2
so sick and tired of ue5 games and the dogshit performance that usually comes with them
more or less
its the rendering

render is kind of cpu bottlenecked in 5.1 for whatever reason
Good times when UE5 came and everyone was busy demanding that every UE4 game "upgrades" to it
12900k here and the load is like two or three cores tops, most % util i've seen on any one of those was 50
but yeah I wish it was 5.5, I wouldn't have any complaint about performance (tho I'm lucky enough to have a good gpu tbf)
tho obv thats quite an extensive upgrade for devs to manage. should go without saying tho. since gsc did their own engine work as well
Until i see 5.5 improvements in actual game its just snake oil to me
i think if devs put in the effort UE 5 would run just as well if not better than UE4
nah check like cpu performance on games that upgraded or tech demo perf, its much much better
you have intel to thank for snake oil
🙂
Reason: Bad word usage
Well then. Intel can go kindly perform certain questionable actions to itself along with its big.LITTLE
My 2 cents
their cinebench accelerators 😂🤣😀
lol
i mean that is quite literally what they are
I mean maybe we just should be happy that they finally got off the skylake++++++
And managed to make even more abysmal product
14Nm +++++++++++++++++++++++++
whih one? i dont dont which because there are so many:)
Pretty much anything running on that big.LITTLE
i would exclude Alder lake (12th gen)
those were and still are.....good
I mean good tech for laptops and such but pointless for desktop pc
those were fairly competative with ZEN 3 WDYM ?
Theres no real need for efficiency cores on desktop since we are not limited by battery
i mean....those arent even efficient..... those are just intels version of C- cores
(AKA: dense cores)
14900kf my beloved
But in the end doesnt really matter what people use. I wont buy intel until those "efficiency" cores are trashed
it aint the coldest but it doesnt run too hot
A 14900k not running hot? 😭
well IDK if i 100% belive you but.....good for you
~70c for games ~85c for super intensive stuff
Lol for sec i thought -70c
thatd be crazy
Not if you run with that intel peltier cooler
It wont even turn on at that temperature lol
mid tarkov run
Best AMD was those old Phenoms and Athlons for which you could unlock more cores
Thats what i would expect if they use dedicated AI Cores. But if its just faster like RDNA3 did than i cant understand that. They said that they dont have plans for RDNA3 or older. So AMD coming really late with such tech and making it only for there Newest card is bullshit.
they dindnt say that "they dont have plans for RDNA 3 or older"
The head Engineer said: We dont plan on Bringing on older GPUs but maybe in the future we will.
And if somebody says maybe its mostly a No
when FSR 4 launches it wont be on thoseolder cards but they never said that they wont do it
Sadly seems to be bit of a theme for AMD GPU's to come late to the party
also : RDNA 3 doesnt support fp8 which is required for FSR 4 while RDNA 4 does......
Yea that what the head said but a maybe is just maybe. And even if they bring it it could be like the Xess for other cards. And thats just bad for consumers.
iam not sure on how well it would run on RDNA 3 though
but IF AMD decided to make server and consumer be on the same architecture we wouldnt be speculating on this RN
as CDNA 3 supports fp8
Yea for me i am gonna skip this gen cuz it does give me no uplift in performance. But just want to know is FSR4 really using FP8? And where did you found out?
in the leaked FSR 4 files it mentioned fp8 (the optiscaler guys told me so)
oh yeah and the files have been leaked
they just dont work:)
and i also think there was some other leak saying so too...
Bro no joke I wish my first PC in Ireland was actually last gen of Phenom not the trash that was FX line even tho I had FX9370 lol
FX was such a scam lol
I mean even if FX was quite shit FX9370 was alright
I forget codename but it wasn't early FX
I mean marketing really did its works when managing to sell 4 core as 8 core
I mean no hyperthreading 8 core
kinda like 4 cores 8 threads
Also it did hit 5ghz
But crappier
exactly
But in same time due to how shit FX line was Zen line came out and put Intel to shame lol
5ghz with 2 instructions per clock
I still don't understand tho how AMD came up with so bad cpu line
DIK but 1 thing is certain : someone was an intel spy
Literally AMD made first x64 cpu first dual core cpu and then made that abomination lol
I mean now they are also first with chiplet design
and then they made RYZEN
Zen was quite the lucky break for AMD
And CES that new mobile apu man what beast
I think I saw LTT cover it that die is absolute chonker
which oneeee?
i cant remember
dont think i was paying attention back then
ohhh so "new"🤦♂️
i thought you meant something from 2017~
😣🤦♂️
up to 16c cpu with bigger GPU die than last gen whole APU package lol
thanks anyway
im waiting for ZEN 6:)
here took ss of it for anyone not wanting to look at video and timestamps
i'll go from ZEN 3 to ZEN 6
I mean am waiting for whatever will be almost end of life for my current system
as long as 5800x3d isn't bottlenecking GPU I have no reason to upgrade lol
as it is am rn in x5 labs in stalker 2
cpu is at 40% util and gpu is 100%
Whats your gpu?
6800xt
now what is your setup slinger?
that was my setup last year
same gpu and cpu
ryzen 7 7700
rx 7800xt
32Gb 6000MHz Cl36 RAM
and now im thinking abt buying QHD monitor
So what you have now?
Honestly barely better
Hmm, seems FLCK is no longer a 1:1 to MLCK but Asynchronous now, interesting
Gpu is so small margin different isn't even fun
Kind of disappointed with amd on that
Getting much better latency with FLCK at 2000MHz as opposed to 2167, 65ns vs 93ns
You can manually set FLCK
yeah difference is not that big, but still a little bit better. anyway i upgraded from 1660ti
Well, yeah, which is how I found out Infinity fabric is now Asynchronous
Well you have older amd system?
Well yeah from that huge gap but should have looked at benchmarks and price difference could have gotten probably 6800xt for less
I'm not sure if on am5 can do it I know on am4 can at least I can on my x470 board
Yeah, server rig has a 5800X, on AM4 FCLK = MCLK, it was a 1:1 ratio, no longer is on AM5 which caught me by surprise.
Other hand, makes sense as DDR5 is so fast neither the Infinity fabric nor Memory controllers can properly keep up with it
benchmarks that i saw had abt 5-10% difference in performance and cost was almost similar, even though i bought nitro+ which is not cheap
I got 6800xt powercolor fighter brand new last year for 500
4080 super
Could have gotten 2nd hand for 350
in ukraine both cards were maybe abt 550$, so not a big difference for me
no, i remember, the difference was actually 2k or 40$
Not bad price 7800xt same time in Latvia was 700+
I talk euro but roughly 1:1 to usd
thats why i chose 7800xt. also at that time i saw 0 7900 GREs
Still happy I snagged that 5800x3d when I did under 300 euro lol
Now if in stock is more than 500
same, saw a deal for about 250 gbp and didn't hesitate
Now best for am4 is 5700x3d
i bought my 7700 for roughly 270-280$, but motherboards and ram is pricey for am5
I have Asus rog strix x470f
I have no reason to upgrade to b550 x570 really
If I was on b350 x370 maybe I would have
But even those some of those boards are too good to not use
and i bought msi b650 gaming pro, one of the cheapest motherboards on am5
Another thing that's great for me is I have 32gb ddr4 at 3200mhz cl15 15-17-17-32
Yeah no reason to upgrade the board unless it's gonna be the new socket
I could see upgrade from x370 or b450 but x470 when is better than b550 yeah nah
i guess for the 3-5 years u will have no problems with cpu like 5800x3d
also my past cpu was legendary 3600, that will outlive my entire bloodline
My previous was 2700x
I mean even x370 to b450 is debatable. Cuz that would mean upgrade of CPU and mobo which you could get first gen am5 platform chips for a little more which would justify the upgrade more.
I will make 2ndary system with it and if I get better gpu for this one this 6800xt is going to it also planning to upgrade to 3600mhz 64gb cl16
well, we will if games like stalker keep coming lol
I meant if you're on x370 or b450 your path would be be x470 or b550 or x570
Stalker is on new engine aka ue5 most others will follow it for few years now
honestly, stalker is simply very poorly optimized game
hopefully things are sorted out by the time cyberpunk releases, that's all i'm worried about
New cyberpunk?
I heard witcher 4 is first
It ran too well on my system till 1.1.3 tbh
Considering most if not all 370/470 boards support 5th gen Ryzen, with or without a BIOS flash, any upgrade to your motherboard wouldn’t make sense unless you’re moving over to AM5
1.1.3 ruined it tho for me
not sure if witcher 4 is pretty soon or not. i saw tha 5090 did the render for the trailer
What I know x570 supports pcie4.0 so that's only upgrade for me
thats why i completed the game in 2 weeks and now im waiting 6-12months to replay it again
Not one you’d notice, and definitely not worth 120+$
oh no i doubt it'll be any time soon, just saying that witcher will come before cyberpunk
And it's so minuscule it's not worth it
I’d save that money for a switch to AM5
Same tier mobo I have now is closer to 200€
Due to how good vrms etc. Are on this board
2026-2028 is the window it seems
oh they annouced full production last month
hoping to see cyberpunk by 2030
but also scared of how well it'll run on my current pc
thats the funny part. it wont
we all know witcher 4 and cyberpunk 2 will be nvidias show horse
Hey now I ran cp2077 on launch on r9 290x and it was playable
my 1060 just about handled cyberpunk at 1080p, so i'm hopeful
At 1080p actually hit 100fps avg
on now pre historic gpu lol
only saving grace was my 290x had 8gb vram
most had 4gb
rest in peace that old 290x it actually kicked bucket
295x2 was a messy card overall
when it ran it did great but when didn't was just single 290x performance with 10% penalty
so more of 290 card
God damn thats impressive. Those cards had massive memory bandwith iirc? Probably the saving grace
Ati rage pro 4MB all-in-wonder was the 1080ti of the 90s
thats sad that we will never see cards like 1080ti anymore
it will anywhere there is a lot of of stuff to render like settlements, wild territory, pripyat
512bit
i need to repaste mine. been a hot minute
maybe not with your gpu tho 😄
guys, do you think its worth buying new qhd monitor when i have rx7800xt?
yes
yes
QHD is 1440p
its easier
i have one that looks pretty good (msi mag 274qrf qd e2), cost same as asus rog strix xg27acs
i dont use the 2k term but its easier for some to understand.
what?
first monitor price is the just like the price of second one
so you already have qhd monitor
unless you want 4k one
no, those are the ones that i currently can name as good ones and thinking abt buying one of them
I'd say solid oled panel with 1440p and at least 165hz is good
neo g8 is nice i just make my game 1440p yeah its not a 1:1 match but best of both worlds watch 4k movies and still game with high fps
now i have samsung lc24rg50fqixci and lg flatron 2043s i guess
they costs like kidney
I mean I have Asus tuf VG27AQ HDR
it's not oled but panel is good
since is 165hz 1ms
miniled from ktc is also an option
its abt 15$ cheaper then those that i sent
now to explain how that works is different thing out of box won't work with ELMB
at least on amd gpu
elmb?
damn exact one i have lol. i dont overclock it to 165 tho...i leave it 144
so it lowers amount of motion blur?
I guess you run it on hdmi
no.... DP. .... its 144 out of the box
not sure what I did but mine runs 165 lol
yeah its in the panel settings...just need enable it... i kept it off
and it should work on this frequency
I suggest turn it on
especially if you run gsync or freesync
Reason: Bad word usage
nah most games i play max settings barely get 144 locked.. no need for 165HZ if i cant reach it
ah yes HDR10 messes up on win 10
plus... i never use overclock features.
my only issue
I push frames more than quality some times so that 165 is noticeable also due to freesync it's good when hits more than 165
or in general hdr
I do wonder why entire screen goes green screen with hue of purple if I turn it on in game
so msi one i guess has better colors(i guess) and samsung screen itself. but asus have some technologies
get samsung odyssey line if is good price
on ips or va?
and why? is there any particular reason?
one that i sent here also has ips, just like msi
TN always had the fastest response times.
IPS always had the best color stability.
VA always had the best contrast.
so i have here samsung odyssey g50d (ls27dg502eixci) for abt 250$ ips 180hz
and another odyssey g5 s27cg550 165hz va for 200$
I like TN because fast response
i have tn second monitor. its awful.
Probably should be as first
Anyway 3am imma sleep
goodbye
Honestly I'd say get whatever suits you best
I like TN panels due to response time if is 2ndary and running as multiple monitor it will suffer
Wish i knew what suits me best
Max out in fps first 1 monitor and then think about 2nd usually is rule of thumb
If you split on 2 1 image if you use for different tasks not same issue
At least not tn, but va or ips is hard question, like i dont care abt black being dark-blue or dark-grey, but ips i heard has better colors
Im just using my old main monitor as the second one
Honestly i prefer anything above tn
Oled is go to tbh
Yes, and i would love to go to the oled, but its x2 my budget
Sounds good, i will do this and make my friend suffer with me
It's best way to see what you prefer since on Internet can't
It's like what's the best keyboard or mouse
Or headset and for everyone is different
I dont want to ride to the store by taxi or bus, so i will ask a friend to go with me, and he also knows something abt monitors so then i will decide
I have ips screen on laptop(which im currently using) and va on my pc
But i still think that it would be better to compare both types of screens in life
Thank you for your help
OLED bringing back the screensaver
42" LG OLED, One Oled TV To Rull Them All
TV not as good as monitor regardless of what panel technology used
aye nice
honestly seems too good to be true
oh how fortunate ... nvidia forgot to announce the DLSS4 mfg will work on 40 series cards also
well they didnt forget thats for sure
AMD forgot to tell you that you can actually use AFMF + FSR FG
i mean its on par with my 12gig 4070ti for RT performance
but we will need to wait and see
i hate they dont bother showcasing the non super 4070ti cards in benchmarks anymore
that leak has it as fast a the TIE super but i imagine it is waaay faster than that in non-RT stuff
ah true good point there
id agree
im excited to see
i mean we saw some benchmark for COD BO6 where it was faster than the XTX
thats wicked
and that was raster where the XTX was generally really good
dont use frame gen amd/nvidia it's shit
#scam
try both then pick which one you like more
look same_ish
i use taa with no blurry (modded) working fine except in some city, and I'm recording so 5-10 fps less
@pure ibex is this against the rules? (it seems really skechy)
user must be banned asap
well this @median heath guy is already off this server
Banned them
Saved the day I was driving
oh,sorry😅
i wanted to tag the mod role but it wouldnt let me
never use phone while driving : rule 1
🫡 they dropped that porn link in #🔩┃trilogy_modifications while i was talking about cotz so hit them with insta ban lol
oohhh
if the role doesnt work for pinging feel free to ping a red or purple staff member you see online discord can be wonky when it comes to role pings imo
ok, will do next time😅
no worries haha its gotten me alot on other servers
well i will ping someone that isnt driving😅
wow im not driving all the time
would be nice if i was though
yah

The video card partners went off the rails last generation, and with the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Blackwell GPUs, they've continued the spiral of marketing inanity. Even still, in between all the marketing text, we can find some useful specs and information about upcoming GPU partne...
why your loaded with the thing and mine didn't lmao
he is a first class citizen
he also doesnt have slowmode aplied
galax has not dropped the HOF 5090 yet
we all sleepin till then
no leadtek 5090 either
AYE
they dropped a 5090 gainward
he is monolith while we aren't even worthy to be humans as Roosevelt told me in Cordon lol
🤣😂
bro is also sending pics here
i killed that guy
Praise the monolith
monolith is lame and cringe
Reason: Bad word usage
damnit I killed Shah because was unreasonable aggression and then Varan because he deserved it anyway for starting that whole war there and Roosevelt was only one who was reasonable to some degree lol
honestly my only gripe is why was noontide killed off so quickly lol
bad plot or something
0db mode aka my HX1200i which is old as balls had it already long before it's called not enough load fan stays off
my 2 best psus are a 1600i which i use in my main rig
and an evga 2000 watt i use in my workshop
man I love this HX1200i thing is too good
considering my system at most draws around 50% on it that thing is 95% efficient lol
this psu is kinda silly expensive for no reason
so many people RMAd them when they released originally since thought that fan is broken lol
I mean efficiency is not cheap
we could return to early 2k lol with psus that were so inefficient it wasn't even funny
they also just were terrible
try plugging any old psu into an oscilloscope and you will see horrors beyond your wildest dreams
honestly if my hx1200i kicks bucket which is a big if if ever will happen I'll probably get superflower one
so
most modern psus
are rated for like 20mv of ripple
on its power rails
some older psus
ripple like 200mv or more
oh right now am wondering did Nvidia stick to that crappy atx3.0 plug lol
they did
but apparently its been improved
it now has some lights on it
ah man can't wait for some people to burn their gpus lol
that will tell you if the connector is plugged in correctly or not
and if not
it wont start
well that's good to hear tbh
Skill issue, always make sure it’s all the way in.
This is about PCIe cables
i mean
the funny thing about 8 pins
is the sticker power rating is like
1/3 of what they can actually draw
one 8 pin can on paper draw like 400 watts
bro some people simply replugged too many times adapter and poofed the gpu
which was supplied by Nvidia themselves
i miss the era of people just sanding off the power delivery system on gpus
to weld on a new one
ah man good old AGP
I wonder what the threshold for too many is, 13 times seem to be fine so far
I do not suggest to test that threshold lol
man we should go back to molex tbh
why cant i buy a gpu with like 8 molex connectors on it
the pcie 5.0 cable? its alot more than 13 times.
Already thoroughly tested, 13 times in 8 months is already a lot.
If you’re having to remove your GPU more than 13 times in a year, you got other issues to worry about chief
132 watts per 1 molex so for a modern gpu maybe need 6
12v 11a lol
gpu also needs to convert the 5v
so it needs dual vrms
now if we power it on 5v 11a that will be way more as that is 55w
back in the day they did that
motherboards would take cpu power over 5v
so boards could when overclocked consume upwards of 40 amps over 5v
oh I remember that
I had one lmao
like I think was very first 64 bit one as well
biggest scam of that era imho was 64 bit cpu but mobo limited to under 4gb of ram lol
12VHPWR/ATX 3.0 yeah.
If you’re wearing the pins down so far with 20 decoupling cycles to the point where they’re flash soldering from too little contact area, I’d suggest taking a paid course in anger management
well
getting over 4gbs of ram
with ddr1
was damn near impossible
by ddr2 though was pretty easy to do
I had 3.75gb ddr1
or was it 3.5
I think was mixed up to hell ram tho but it worked lol
that bloody pc ran till 2012 lol
nf4 ultra
nah had old gigabyte dual bios board
actually that feature saved it few times due to how sketchy back in day BIOS flashes were
it still had nforce chipset no?
yep
but man that driver lottery of early 2k lol
people crying about drivers nowadays have no clue what they say
