From benchmarks it would appear that S2 isn’t making great use of 3D v-cache currently. It seems core clocks matter more. I’m sure optimization regarding that usage will come SoonTM

Likely boils down to lack of optimization from GSC towards AMD’s chip technology, I.e 3D V-cache, and the all familiar story (which I have experienced first hand multiple times) of AMD Driver/Software issues and latency of updates. Software lumen is mostly handled by the GPU, but your CPU still needs to send the instructions to your GPU for it to handle it, which can kick it in the face

Which means so long as you/we are CPU limited, offloading Lumen to hardware won’t improve things massively

Iirc GPU busy tells you how much of the average delay between frames come from the GPU, in the ideal scenario GPU busy=Frametime (GPU bottleneck). For example in Zalissya/any npc dense area, when GPU busy<Frametime then only a portion of the "frame delay" is caused by the GPU, the rest is caused by cpu/system (CPU bottleneck). This means the GPU had to wait before displaying the next frame.

Even when GPU usage is at 100% you can still have a CPU bottleneck, the best way to check is your GPU power consumption. For example a 3060 tdp is 170W, if its pulling below 160W while showing 100% GPU usage then you have a CPU bottleneck (GPU is NOT used all the way)

YAY more evidence. I've been testing stuff on a single savefile, constantly reloading it and restarting the game and my ram usage has gone up by about 7gbs

I think the memory leak has sth to do with reloading savefiles (I haven't died more than 3 times so I've never had any issues with it). And reloading the same savefile over and over might either make ur ram go crazy or brick it completely (:

biggest impact is probably setting vsync to fast and low latency to on to fix input lag, getting Ulti Engine Tweaks (testing out if Opti S2 actually does anything on gamepass soon), installing newest nvidia drivers, increasing pagefile and the most important thing to encourage your dying struggling pc and hug it once in a while and tell it how good it looks and what a good job it does

Regarding the memory leak issues

I've been reloading the same savefile for 10+ times by now since yesterday to check out optimization stuff and my memory usage went up by 6gb to 30gigs now
I've never really experienced memory leaks before and I've only died 3 times so far so maybe this is actually why. Memory Leak might also be related to having dlss/framegen enabled.
I've seen people saying their savefiles got completely corrupted too (something about the map reloading and adding onto it again?)

This is all speculative, so if you know sth about this pleeeeaaaase let me know

What you can do about it until it gets patched?

• Switch from DLSS to FSR (this does actually help), disabling Framegen might work too
• Restart the game every few hours
• Increase Shader Cache Size + cap your fps!
• Increase your pagefile (NOT ON HDD) if you have only 16-32gbs of RAM (I have it on 40gb which uses 40gbs of drive space that you lose out until you disable this again) on the drive stalker 2 is installed on, helps if you're running out of ram and your computer gets really laggy/crashes https://www.nolvus.net/appendix/pagefile
