Is anyone else still get a crash for Quiet's "Light in the End of the Tunnel", it gets worst the closer I get to Paet to the point that getting anywhere near the old military checkpoint it crashes.

i tried smuggling an rpg into the rostok arena and managed it, but the shooting of it doesnt seem to do anything. its like it disappears into the air........but when i fired in the ground under me to test it, it did go boom. whats up with that? trying to kill the chimera...

It can only be given as a side-quest from the NPC named Mityay, that is hanging out in Hamster the Trader's building.
speaking of missable missions, is "The sound of music" doable late game? I've never encountered it. Apparently it's at Duga but I assumed I couldn't get to duga earlier with the area being inaccessible

Late reply but afaik it's only doable pre-SIRCAA. You can access the Chornobyl-2 area of Duga as long as you take the far south entrance by burnt forest

are the side quest for Hera in cement factory still bugged in that it doesn't remove itself from the journal after completing and talking to Hera?
The side quest where you should kill a few bandits is bugged, when you are approaching from the edge of the cliff and the npcs start running around, one of them is falling through the pixels (so to speak) and shot you from below and hits you, but you are unable to kill him. When coming from the left side around the small hill and shot said npcs, they wont disappear and the quest is solved.
So if you progressed after SIRCAA and didn't save Zalissya from the Monolithians that means nothing related to Zalissya is gonna be available anymore

Howdy, I got a gamebreaking bug. In the mission "Down Below", Degtjarev simply won't start conversation in that big room after Dalin contacting me. He simply replies to "Get moving" and other generic replies when interacting with him. Any idea?

No one really needs a no weight limit mod.
No one needs to carry every weapon and armor.

i load back and did it 10 times now
i shoot them even when they are just spawning in and standing up high to attract gun fire
the best run i did i only see 1 dead stalker
i even pulled out the Clusterf with AP to one shot every monolithians

But maybe it's not. As I did everything that you did and I got green check mark.
Can you replay Zallisya from the beginning? When you visit it and help with defeating monolithians at first time.

Sometime later, i walked by and Gaffer announces that Zallisya is holding against the Monolithian
Scripts broken. I remember bug when you protected Zallisya, went out and then audio played that Zallisya has fallen.
luckly that I stayed in Zallisya for all the quests to trigger and playout
so the only thing i'm puzzled is that neutral complete quest mark

hey I just started playing stalker cop enhanced edition on win 10 22h2, on a fresh save I ran into a bug where i cant talk to awl by the boiler anomaly; when i interact with him, he tells me to "talk to the boss". Any advice?
nevermind, fixed it by starting another fresh save
also tip for anyone wanting to adjust your viewmodel/weapon fov, use the command hud_fov 0.x (0.1-0.9 is the max I think)
Nah i played it on 1.4 and it had some issues, especially with radio messages of gaffer
Not a single issue in my playthrough. Spawn points were fine. Npcs didn't get stuck, and all parts worked with no issues.
Zalissya stalkers all died in mine and gaffer said even though they killed all the Monolith attackers zalissya is dead
Funnily enough, only one stalker died. I made sure to tank them all and execute a reflexes rush on them. The one that died simply did in the second spawn point behind the building cuz I took too long getting around it
I did the same the first time and they still all died.
Reloaded the save and did the same thing, everyone survived. Not even one casualty
Yeah. I think what really makes the difference is them focusing on you as a primary target. If not, they'd simply destroy them as you try to snipe from a far
There are a bunch of rookies there, so aside from the couple exo boys, the rest are easy to die, considering the arsenal the monolith guys are carrying

I’m meeting all the requirements and I’ve picked up all 14 out of 27 artifacts that I need to pick up, but in the trophy menu on my PlayStation. It says 13 out of 14. Same here, the marker is shown on the map but ||Zhakar|| is not showing up. ||I've searched whole slag heap||, reloaded game multiple times and slept for atleast 24 in game hours.

Im actually playing the side quest for Owl, where you have to find 4 dead bodies or bagpacks and loot their pdas. Have already 3 of them but at the last stage, the body is missing, consulted a youtube vid, where the body was placed over a wooden box. Into my game the boxes are present but no body to loot. Any ideas? There is nothing else around, even a x for the assumed body location is missing...
hey guys can I get a hand with 'on the edge' quickly, my issue is a bit different from the bugs other people are reporting:
Basically, I'm at the point in the quest where I have to fight off the monolith attack, but whenever I kill a monolith, a sidequest icon appears on his body (exclamation mark in a blue diamond), and nomatter what I do I can't complete the quest to fight off the attack.
Any help is much appreciated, I've also tried running away from Zalissya but I just fail the quest and Zalissya falls to the monolith
Just to make sure that you aware a green dot for the friendly and a white one for the monoliths? Asking because shooting own people is very possible with the attacks. Also, try to apporach the village from an other angle and try to counter attack them from behind or an other spot, just to figure out if this happens no matter what you try
Bro I go on this fetch quest for this dumb Sgt at Icarus for a Psi suit, wait around for him to be done, then spend 40k coupons for a suit im already wearing -_-
Had done this silly thing too, sis^^ After awaring that I own the suit already and the bought one was not better, I reload the game at last point and refused to buy that suit, 40k saved.

Look further, into the game you have the opportunity to find suppressors for nearly all weapons. I wouldnt stick not to that only one
I want to find that silencer for free since there's no known place to pick it up at the moment, I want to use it for the Integral A (somehow there're 4 extended mags around the map but only one side mission give you for free lmao)
Also I can't seem to find anything about this specific mission on the internet, like I'm one of the 0.1% that encountered this quest or something.
There is a "Viper Monolith" on top of the Lesser Zone, located right of the broken bridge into the old facility but its only there, if you own the ultimate game edition.
How much is the map involved in quests? for anybody whos completed the game. How much can i expect to just explore vs how much should i wait for a quest / side quests to bring me to areas i havent been to ?
trying to figure out if i should go explore regions quests havent taken me to yet or not
in general, there are prompts that leads you towards certain regions that you would likely stumble upon side quests (and some regions are not on story critical paths), so I'd say go explore! since some side quests may be locked after certain main story progression

(i don’t actually know what counts as a spoiler) Im at the ||scientist helicopter by Rostok|| and a guy yelled “||watch out loner, theres a blood sucker||” but i insta killed it before he could finish, and he didn’t say anything after. Did i mess up/glitch it? Where is he hiding?

After getting back there i found out ||he was on the ground and instantly dies once he’s done talking. I probably looted his body while looking for him. I also couldn’t heal him, even though i was right there||
Also ||i think the blood sucker was weakened by his team, because it died in one burst of the APSB||

I'm starting to think that a certain action would cause the quest/activity to bugged since I did encounter it during my first playthrough, and curiously,I don't find information about this quest anywhere online.
Within my first playthrough I didn't go loot-hunting frenzy like I'm right now, I went to a location, do all side quests there, then go for the main, rise and repeat.
I don't really remember whether I encountered the quest before or after the Signal though.

For what pistol do you want the silencer ?
Because you can find one for skiff pistol at the beginning of the game. At the very beginning, after meeting Richter, go for Zalyssia's, then, you may encounter a stalker assaulted in a house by bandits. Help him and accept his request to save his friend. At the end end of this little quest, you may find the silencer, an echo detector or hide, and some beginner's weapon.
Diamond exo by far. You can fully upgrade it without any blueprints.
Have to fetch a skipjack artifact for S2. Where to best find?
identical chances in chemical anomalies, if you're cheeky or can't be bothered, save 100m away and try for the artifact, not what you want? reload the save until you get it

I can't deliver them to the scientist. Also when I was getting the last collar. I couldn't attack the soldiers who had it. Otherwise my game would freeze and kick me out.
You're save might be just bugged sadly but try loading a previous save and see if it lets you then
You may have to wait for the scientist to contact you as it would say on the objective screen, but it could just be bugged out

i took a side quest from warlock. says pick up warlock's order but when i got to the marker there is nothing

^went back a save, started again and this time saved the dude at the ambush. Progressed fine after that

I think you need to start a new game, because the journalist quest trigger when you first come to Zallisya, by spawning a key inside your chest.
But this chest is unavaible after Monolith attack.

so the army warehouses code I think you are referring to, you get that key from the old Freedom base and there is another building nearby a warehouse and the code is scratched onto a wall in there
and then I'm pretty sure the one you are talking about with the waste processing station goes something like this, you find the 2 corpses in basement and tape players near them. There is a bus not far from the area which has a bunch of related tape reels sitting inside and you derive the door code from a puzzle there

anyone run into problems with the malachite side quest where the scientist at the shop asks you to help with lefty's group and blizzard? For blizzard I found him but interacting with him says don't bother him, so I'm unsure what I'm suppose to do even though I killed the bloodsucker

yea, there was a fire fight going on so I just killed the bloodsucker first
I actually stumbled upon this scenario, before I got to STC Malachite. Blizzard was killed before I killed the Bloodsucker. On him was the chest of bones that Victoria wanted. I believe there was an audio announcement from Blizzard about what he was doing but I can't remember if he said that when I met him or on his body. I recorded the scenario, so let me review it and get back to you.

When I approached him from the east, I heard gunfire and the roar of a Bloodsucker. Then he said "Hey Stalker! I need a hand. I can't do this alone." (Audio and text on the screen).
As I got closer, he said "C'mon help me out What are you looking at?". I joined the fight, and killed the Bloodsucker but I found him dead. The chest in his inventory told me it was wanted by Victoria, who I had never met yet.
When I finally did, she had dialogue to give it to her. With Blizzard surviving in your case, it seems like you killed the Bloodsucker before any dialogue. Unless you make manual saves before you approach any scenario like this, you may be stuck with an incomplete action.

After getting my reward from Boozer at the Slag Heap, I took the Guide back to Rostok. I didn't stay long in Rostok, as I was soon out the west gate and then to the south-west to the train tracks going west. I went over the railroad tunnel hill and then to the south, going all the way to the river. I went west along the river, avoiding going ...
fantastic lol, looks like I'm not gonna be able to finish this quest then, I did hear him shout hey help me out but there was another group in the area and they all started firing on the bloodsucker, and I just ended up joining in on the fight to kill it
You could hang out with him until he is killed. Then you will get the chest of bones from his inventory that Viktoria wants.
This is just a good lesson to make a quick or manual save, when you arrive upon a scene, right before the action starts.
im in the poppy field, i keep dying. i need to hand weapons and ammo to that guy but i get overencumbered and cant run and then when i drink i die anyway. i dont get whats happening

Try dropping a lot of excess gear in the safe house right next to the Poppy field. That way when you find the three stashes, you have room to add the loot without getting overweight. Plus you need to drink the energy drinks often. Don't wait for the sleepy symbol every time.

The shooting sound is the ambient track for the area till you leave. Change is indicated with a whino sitting on the steps complaining about how dangerous the zone is now.
How many enemies are in the cave squint sends you to?
Usually 1 bloodsucker, but I have seen 2 down there.

What's the mechanism behind turning NPC green?
I don't get it, sometimes I didn't do anything and some of the npc goes green the moment I meet them. Some won't turn green even if I do some side quests from the area
Side quests, healing them, helping them to kill mutants or enemies
I'm stuck on the side quest where Squint sends you down to a cave, do I have to kill the mutant to get the Icon or can I just jump past the mutant? Because the part is making me a little bit mad as I have been on it for about 3 weeks straight
if you are referring to the quest Piece of Cake, technically killing the mutant is not mandatory - though it will be on your critical path; if you want to just run past it by all means give it a shot - your objective is only to retrieve the artifact and bring it back to Squint
I have tried running past it and it still goes after me (But I also don't have good guns not alot of amo and yeah.)
if you are not comfortable with dealing with bloodsuckers yet, I'd say practice with a shotgun out in the field where you can move around - you will come across them a lot so trust me it would be worth your time in getting better at handling them both out in the open and in tight spaces
Okay because when I first started playing the game I literally cried at the bloodsucker part (..It took me 4 days to get past that part) but I'm playing on Xbox one. Stalker has some fluffy controls for Xbox and stick drift when my controller doesn't have it
take your time brother and lower the difficulty if you need until you are comfortable with the controls; the zone experience can be tough at times it's part of the fun lol

there is a way for you to get in and have a conversation (as I did in 1.3.1) but I had not been given that opportunity in 1.5.1+
you basically get a side quest from the weapons dealer at the slag i think and you go down bellow to some old wooden houses at the marker but theres no one there
so you are doing No Honor Among Thieves and are at the part where there is a wooden house and a yellow digger - you need to find a way to jump inside the house through the roof on top of the digger (and if need be, kill any and everyone who's hostile)
if you want specifics, look inside the ||large red shipping container||

Hi, I can't progress first Nightingale mission, the dog with the collar is there and the white "pick up" dot appears, but I can't press F or anything to pick something up. Any ideas?
if you are playing vanilla, the angle that allows you to loot mutants is quite specific so crouch, circle around the dot, and spam F; if you are playing with mods some of them may interfere with this so disable them if the issue persists

I can't be sure which one but it has been reported by many that quite a few mods do not play well with mutant loots introduced in 1.5 so disable them and see which may be causing the issue for you

Its kinda zig-zag course but makeable. Just ensure not to jump too fancy because the NPC wont follow
for Shcherba's quest, there are specific coordinates for the mutants with collars; there is one at the very north of the Malachite region (not within the centre), so take a look at your map and see where the pins are

Hello, new to the discord, hope this is the right place to ask about a glitch with the new quest on PC-unmodded. I'm unable to progress with the new quest from Honta to ||save Zhuzha from the chimera|| where you need to meet Honta by the train with like 4 other npc stalkers around. I'm there but he just keeps telling me to wait whenever I try to talk to him, am I softlocked? If I go ahead and ||kill the chimera myself||, he runs over alone and says something along the lines of "oh no!" or something then just stays there forever unable to progress. My quest log says to speak to him but there's no map marker even though he's in front of me and talking to him just has him saying "wait" again.

ok, tldr. I went back, killed the respawned chimera (this one actually had life on it and took some effort to kill) and when i got back honta was there.

you know the idea is out there that you can fast travel across the map using the gravitational anomalies. but if this was intended or not is not known for sure to me. but i have single stash that appears that you have to use a gravitation anomaly to get up to it on top of a rock. but
if this is true why don't you put in an npc trainer to make it part of the game and use like premedding in other game to fortity you body to take the jump. or is it you need the physical protection artifact cause i have that one for maximum but i think i will still just always die.

if you have completed both Bullseye and Mysterious Case side missions, you have to progress the main story to a certain point before Sonya will talk to you about Three Captain
Where can I find the Guides PDA?
Is it just me or are the psidogs in the arena fight just way overtuned? Like, it’ll spawn 5-6 fakes and then one fake will spawn another 5-6 fakes after killing 2-3. I hate this fight so much. On the easiest difficulty, this fight was harder for me than the chimera fight on the hardest difficulty. I hate how over the top these psidogs are
Got through the fight by pure luck alone. Just beat the chimera first try without cheesing. Yea psidogs are way overtuned
Psidog is bitch. It constantly spawn clones, but the main body usually keeps its distance (around 10 to 20 meters). What I do is toss a grenade at my feet and then run backward — this helps reduce the number of clones chasing me. Luring them into anomalys near the artifact area usually works too, as it can get swallowed by the anomaly. Alternatively, keep kiting it with grenades. In the end, once the number of clones is down, use a high-rate-of-fire shotgun like the SPSS-12 to quickly find and take out the real one with rapid shots.
With standard 12-gauge rounds, it usually takes about 5 to 6 shots to kill a psidog. However, using hollow point rounds (the yellow icon in the top-left corner), it typically only takes 2 to 3 shots. So it's a good idea to carry some HP ammo. Just keep in mind that the SPSS requires you to manually eject all the shells to switch ammo types, so it’s often better to just empty the magazine first and then reload with the new ammo.
I have less of a hard time out in the world but the arena side quest with the double barrel against the psidog was absolutely miserable. It took me like 13 attempts on easy for my third playthrough vs the chimera on the hardest difficulty for my first playthrough
Oh, sorry—I didn’t realize it was the Psidog from the second arena fight. That one was really tough. With only two shotgun rounds and the nearby gas canisters not being very effective, it ended up feeling a bit like a random gamble.

I go to the location, right by the Bubla, and there's nothing there.

Due to the presence of Bloodsuckers or Blind Dogs's respawn point in the area, that person might have just been attacked by these creatures, or they could have already died. However, the reward for this quest is quite poor, so even if you can't take it on, it won't be a big loss.

Few people have this issue, it sometimes resolve by leaving the area and coming back. Otherwise, wait for a patch to fix it.
Does Kostya Dry in Duga have any side quests? Every time I encounter him, he's dead, but I saw in the 1.2 update that there was a bug where he was supposed to be alive after interacting with him. So, he should have some storyline, right?
It seems like there are issues with the side quests in Duga. For example, in The Sound of Music, every time I enter the general store, I can't see the NPC and the quest doesn't trigger.
Whats wrong with Lex the legend? everytime i ask him for a mission he dont want to be bothered but the map shows there is a side mission available on him :/ Ive ben trying every around 20 gamehours if something changed in his opinion, but no.
for NPC that got stuck with available side mission, what worked for me was simply save then load/restart game, and they should resume their dialogue to give you the mission
Hey, asking myself if it's a common issue : when I killed chimera before the Gonta questline, at the final stage when I arrive to the tunnel Zhuzha automatically dies.
Zhuzha's fate depends on your decision during the quest, which is right before fighting Burer. Gonta will ask you to have a talk with Zhuzha to guide him. You can choose:
- Do what you want to do.
- Lecture him.
Option 2 will ultimately lead to Zhuzha hunting the Chimera on his own and dying. There's also a trap here: if you choose option 1 but later tell Gonta that Zhuzha is going to hunt the Chimera in the tunnels by himself, it will force the outcome of option 2. The only way to avoid this is by lying to Gonta and saying, "I don't know."
You didn't get the good ending, so you missed out on Gonta's unique rifle. But to be honest, that rifle can't be fitted with a suppressor, so you probably wouldn't use it much anyway. So, missing it doesn't really result in any significant loss.

There’s nothing wrong. As for the question you asked, if you kill the Chimera first, no matter what choice you make, it will lead to the outcome of option 2, which is Zhuzha’s death. To change that, you’d have to load an earlier save before you killed the Chimera.
Hey everyone, quick question — is the Three Captains side quest still bugged during the part where you have to kill Sultan and Beard?
I’m currently up in the tower waiting to shoot them while they talk, but they never spawn on the second floor near the window.
Did they change the spawn point in an update, or do I need to reload an older save for it to trigger properly?
P.S. Just got back to the game — my last save is from 12/03/2024, so it’s been almost a year 
did you tune in to the radio by the rifle? sonya should be calling you as well. reloading a save would be your best bet if those doesn't trigger and if all else false consider submitting a ticket via #s2-support

Hello all. As I accept the side mission ‘light at end of tunnel’ from quiet, when I leave the the shelter I get attacked by 2 NPCs and I can’t go back to trade with quiet. Is this a bug or scripted?

In the side mission "Bullseye," I've saved all three of Beard's men. I shot all the bandits, but on the way back, they stop around 200 meters from the barn I rescued them from, near some anomalies. Is this a bug?

Further away, there are some bandits you need to get rid of. When the guys come to you, dogs are next. After that, they sit at a bonfire

Hey everyone, so I started playing again and I'm doing the "A School Of Life" quest. I successfully killed the Chimera together with Zhuzha and had a talk with him, then while I'm going back to Honta I get a new quest objective to collect Zhuzha's PDA. I go back and what do I find? TWO MORE Chimeras next to Zhuzha's corpse fighting some Stalkers.
Is this intended or is A-Life screwing me by spawning two more Chimeras? I guess I'll have to go away a bit and go back to Zhuzha before the Chimeras get him.

It's in the Duga, before you do the story missions there. You have to go all the way south of the fence to get in, but it's a normal free roam area there. It's pretty small, since most of the Duga is taken up by the part that's locked down.

Hey anyone can confirm: I got a sidequest to bring a body out of anomaly field in lesser zone, guy was called Bubble or something and I can't pick him up, only loot him. Did 1.7 break it or am I doing something wrong here? In previous versions I could grab him and take to his 'friend'.

Hey i've help the black guy on the tunnel,, that one that Sidor wants to kill and after help him he says that he will come back to the tunnel when he get some help, but after that i come back to the tunnel and find some bandits and the dude was dead with a pda, i loot the pda but there was no info on the pda and it looks like the pda only was there for the Sidor mission to count as killed if you pick up, cause nothing happen when i pick that pda after the mission, no notes, no voicerecord, nothing. Is that guy suposse to be dead even after help him in Sidor side quest or just a bug?

There is literally never a arc or alternative outcome. The missions are on pretty tight rails.

the tech will call you when it's ready (you need to progress the main quests a bit); if you already has a suit that has suitable level of psi protection, you may not need the one from Icarus

Not sure. I know the ninth was supposed to give it to you, but dunno for which weapon.
There is no notification for blurprints since 1.7 but the ones you get are valid - including the one from Ninth. You can verify that by looking at M10 upgrades and you should have the Rubber Layer upgrade available to you

so... this is my 3rd playthrough, I've tried both A Light at the End of the Tunnel choices, (Quiet's sidequest) and I haven't seen it has anything to do with the game, anyone has any info what the outcome of the choices we made in this mission ?
Done it 2 different ways, got shafted by sidorovic evertime. I also don't get it. All I can think is it's context for why there is psi radiation all over the place.

when i loot bodies and right click on a gun to unload i can aim while being in inventory menu to loot em plus when i scroll down i can change weapons, it is normal or i should verify my files? PS i can shoot as well while looting a body

I had the same problem few days ago.
I did manage to get the side quest by just throwing the grenade at 2 mercenaries that spawned on the other side of the wall left of the sniping spot.
Some of the mercenaries do spawn but they just wait there and do nothing even if the dialogue between Sultan and Beard finishes
I've just solved the bug by this guy's tip. Thanks a lot. In my case, I couldn't open console with UETools, so I used SimpleModLoader to open it.

I have an issue with the side quest that cpt senkevych give you at icare base in zaton once you get the Faust agent, i sided with no one ( didnt show the monolith PDA neither to ward nor spark) and i didnt kill the ward squad in the vent with the bloddsuckers. My issue is, if i dont get to acces the icare base ? Why does the side quest shows ? IS it a bug ? Or im i suppose to wait further in the progress ?

Nope its actually quit the opposite, the quest appeared juste After i speak to Richter about ||clear Sky|| and didnt show before so since i helped ward by not killing them squads even tho i didnt sided with them, i thought they gave me accès to their base, a bit like thé cément Factory that you get to accès later in the story

It’s a bug where the side quest from Cpt. Senkevych (likely “Like a Moth to the Flame”) appears in your log/marker even though you can’t access Camp Icarus.
Since you “sided with no one” and didn’t show the PDA to the Ward (nor Spark, the Stalker contact), you lack the badge. Guards will warn you to leave, and forcing entry (like sneaking) often turns the whole base hostile.

I've went for the Swamp one down at Clear Sky first as its the 4th one I would get (Because I had the Pre Order normal, not Ultimate or Deluxe)
And somehow the Log was not saved or taken at all, and the USB in my Inventory disappeard
I'm trying to "side with the Sultan and Beard" and I've been waiting a good 5 minutes since they stopped talking. Last thing they said was something like "let's make a deal, and this time as equals" and then Sonya said if I won't do it then her men will. I've been snacking on some bread and kielbasa and nothing is happening... I've reloaded my save twice now and still nothing is happening...
I tried going down the ladder but then the "side with sultan and beard" quest marker is marked grey as "incomplete"? and everyone starts shooting each other... By the time I run to the warehouse both sultan and beard are dead...

Did you loot his stash then loot his note at flea market? You must pick the note to trigger him to spawn in Zaton. At least in my experience.
The blue flag is in zaton but only one thug is there.

It actually made me discover something kinda funny. To help you find where the monolithians are supposed to spawn in Zalyssia, they play gunshot sounds on repeat on where they spawn them in for each wave

Seems I have a missing side quest stalker out in the field in Garbage. Any way of resetting his spawn - name is Vova Amalgam. Saw he could be bugged but did not see anything related to his not being there at all.

Does anyone know why the new side mission is not tracking? I spoke with a guy in the old mine and after that nothing is happening, there's a door which is locked and the mission is not tracking at all, so now I don't know where to go or what to do! Please help, thanks in advance.

There is a way down deeper in the mine and there should be a room with some kind of pump control u can deactivate the bandits will come looking why it stopped pumping and open up a door that leads to their leader

Hey everyone, I’m stuck due to what seems to be a bugged side quest and could really use some help.
The mission is not tracking and doesn’t appear in my journal
I’ve spoken to Banzai and interacted with the valve correctly
Nothing happens afterward
There are no more bandits
Both doors inside the mine remain closed, so I can’t progress at all
I’ve tried retracing my steps, but I’m completely blocked. Has anyone else encountered this or found a workaround?
It’s really frustrating to keep running into issues like this.

Cant you load a save before entering the mineshaft? If your on pc you could noclip through these doors
Also i remember there was a key somewhere there did u go down where the fire anamolies are? U can drop urself down there if you destroy the planks i think the key was there if i remember correctly
Also when you deactivate the pump 2 bandits should come through the one locked door

fixed captains quest by throwing a nade over the wall where the mercs spawn to trigger the. Hantas one is borked at the snork part, no audio and cant turn in

You know what is strange? When I first entered into the mine and went down underneath where the fire anomalies are and I've looted the bodie, the flash drive was there. Now when I reloaded the game, the drive is not there anymore!

When I speak with Banzai he does not mention anything about the driver, he just offers me two option, and then he is asking from to find his equipment. I follow his instructions to use the valve however no bandits are spawning, and both doors remain closed.

I would imagine with my coming across quest npc's in the field in the wild, potentially aggressive, both before & after their quests - I should selectively off them at my own risk?
(i don't think i've ever "off" a quest giver but I suppose you can do that at your own risk, sure)
I mean - unless ur familiar with every bandits name - randomly coming across them in the field shooting at you - how are you to know they appear later on as an important npc with purpose in a fixed position? One tends to defend themselves when shot at.
I did this mission literally 3 days ago before going to the swamps and everything went well without bugs, the sounds were all there, I completed the quest without a hitch, you see, every PC machine has a different way of managing the game, it's not easy for developers to fix it with millions of different PCs, in the end, did you manage to complete the mission or are you stuck there?
(quest npcs by default will not be hostile to you so you can talk to them, unless you make them aggro in the first place; ofc you should defend yourself when shot at but I have never experienced hostility from quest npcs)
I was on a fresh loaded save, at the windmill of lesser zone, just entering to start that quest & was shot at outside of it by a quest giver that appears on other half of the zone, randomly in the field.
I later, in another part of zone, ran across a fixed in place npc for another quest for Warlock's Debt, out in the wild fighting bandits - the one with the named scope rifle on the tower. He shot at me & I killed from a distance, not knowing it was him & he had an artifact. So it sounds like there is true randomness or reuse of the npc's. Makes me worried about killin anyone.
sure, all I'm saying is I'm on my third playthrough and have never experienced hostility from an npc with side quests; your worry is warranted if you feel you may be making contact out of order and certain scripts are not running properly (or if you are running any mods that may have caused these issues) - those 2 npcs that you mentioned have never appear outside of their mission area for me to have those fire fights
Oddly enough - on this load - The NPC quest trigger is in the woods right near his quest post & now hostile when I approach the spot for the quest trigger, i flee, he drops & I reapproach & he attacks again. He doesn't move to his normal area. Wonder if the update unhinged them as well?

I know of some quest npcs that would get hostile if you loot their specific stash; personally I have never experienced Squint nor Lummox spawned outside their mission area nor get hostile at me (you are free to take from the stash next to Squint no problem; Lummox would have told you about the stash himself)
Vova Amalgam is another that is hostile
he's the one with a friend in the anomoly field on the coast that he says "don't loot him. just rescue him" Did have a glitched PDA issue where u had to loot it to pick him up. Did not trigger Vova.
may I ask if you are using any mods? I had to loot the pda from the body so I can pick up the body - he did not aggro on me; neither did Vova Amalgam in the electric field (I helped guided him out)
i know there are factions etc in the game but I've not been on a looting or killing spree so I shouldn't be on the list yet?

there is a hidden reputation system sure - if you have killed a certain amount of loners for example, they may grow to be hostile to you in return; all these npcs you mentioned are loners so perhaps in a firefight you have a stray shot or two hitting them
would a certain amount be fewer than 10 be enough? I walk past lots of them in the wild. only actual bandits seem to aggro me

I have sneak attacked 3 ward & 2 roamers in the wild involved in firefights with bandits but when I last interacted with him, I had been on a spree in the wildwith ward & anyone else I saw.
I went out of my way to avoid killing for most part now this happens.

well hopefully after a while loners will return to neutral to you (or if you can, do some quests for Warlock to get on loner's good side) so important npcs won't be mad at you on sight

potentially. for Lummox and Squint, there is a chain of quests that leads to them, so talking to the original quest giver make help reset them; for others, perhaps by leaving the area and returning after a long time may help as well

(no, not in my experience honestly; if you play with the compass or simply look in your map, npcs with side missions will have a blue flag on them; when you see them, you can start the quest, there is no "too early")
Still stuck, im guessing it has something to do with my mods, which arent really game breaking… but i heard somewhere that the particular quest needs to be done a specific way or it breaks.. the audio thing im not sure why though.. its a newer quest addition than vanilla so im not surprisrd it broke

Hello everyone. So, I have an issue with the Three Captains side mission. I want to side with Sultan and Beard but I can't. When I fixed the radio and listened to their conversation, the mercenaries won't spawn even after waiting an hour. Does anyone have some advice on how to complete this mission without killing them?
I just had this issue, if you look to next to the tower, there is a brick building with a brick wall. The merc are spawned on the other side of it waiting. Throw a nade to damage one and as soon as one takes damage it will trigger the option you want

Save Vova Amalgam in Garbage - does he still spawn here / quest still active? I have an empty field & no emissions since entering Garbage to deal with. Collected all the loot from the 4 marked bodies in the poopy field AND the hard-to-reach one near his hut but the quest won't complete and Skif cannot deliver the loot. Am I missing something? guys, the mission "once upon a time at kazkovyi is bugged for me, i was here before starting the mission and disabled all threats while just looting and now i can not progress the mission, does anyone know how to fix?
summer camp objective is optional, so no need to worry ||if you have already clear the kitty||; for the other building, once you clear the ||rats, and pick up the info from the corpse, there should be a pseudodog spawn right outside the building|| - that is your last mutant to clear
all of this should not be affected even if you have been to the area beforehand (I've done so on two save slots and the quest progressed as normal). if you are playing vanilla (i.e. no mods) and reloading an earlier save doesn't work, consider submitting a ticket to #s2-support

Hello, I have a question regarding the battle of zalissya, I managed to save all the survivors, but after gaffer's speech, they all left Zalissya and only remained the main characters. I did the Sphere and nobody went back, is it a bug when nobody die or should I try to reload and do it again see what happens ?
Zalissya doesn't fully recover even after the monolith attack. The main traders and characters (except for ||Uncle Lyonya for obvious reasons||) will all stay in the main building pretty much. As for the sphere, nearly all of the IPSF was wiped out there so there's no real reason for them to go back.

Some happen to stay and guard most the main building, but the settlement wil stay pretty messed up after the vents of the story.
Is it possible to get green rep with everyone in Rostok?
I've done arena mission in Rostok as well as fully completing Barkeep sidequest to kill bandit and rescue Freedomo guy. However, I only have Barkeep as Green rep.
It's possible, I also tried to avoid the bugged quest from Barkeep, the one that complete automatically, "secure trade route" or something.
Burnt Forest now says it has a personal stash and bed in the fairy tale pioneer camp, but it appears locked. any ideas

yes, and you have to beat the whole quest line to have personal stash, first 2 quests only get you a bed
it is pretty good though, worth playing early on to guide you around the western zone areas, the traditional tool missions
Finally finished it myself yesterday, really hope GSC has more content updates like these planned beyond the larger paid DLC expansions. But I'm looking forward to seeing where its story thread continues hopefully in that DLC1 because while I think the questline overall was awesome, a welcomed edition with more narrative content as well as new hub, it felt a little underwhelming in some sense because I was following the related ARG so religiously, and then without necessarily spoiling anything for Stories Untold it's not like you truly get the answers you'd want with what Banzai was pursuing as related to the mysterious signal but then again we will likely be further exploring this, and I would rather that rabbithole go deeper than this single questline anyway 
Does completing repeatable side quests really give +faction rep to all npcs of that specific faction? The answer is yes for Rostok. Took me at least 4+ repeatable sidequests + arena to get green reputation. (Master diff)
We should do the faction side quests first for a better starting rep...
Also try sleep after these quests, sometimes rep status won't update if you stay awake

i have a weird bug where it shows in the side quest name Seek, and you shall find. I don't have the preorder dlc but only the ultimate and it shows i need to collect the preorder journalist stashes which arent on the map. I'm pretty far in the game on the down below mission and i want to get this side quest done. Any advices how to fix?
if you have deluxe or ultimate, you have the extended functionality installed & unlocked. All it will require is the right main mission progression & then checking ur stash for the usb drive after that trigger is done. That initial drive trigger will mark them on ur map.
If I am not mistaking, the quest description has regions left to clear, not specific stashes. Do you have only Swamp and Garbage (the only two regions with preorder bonus stashes) left there? If so, double check if you looted the other stashes in that areas, each of them has another stash for non-preorder version (one in southern part of Garbage and one in far south-eastern part of Swamps). If you still have only these two regions left, I suggest you contact support #❔┃side-quests message

it seems the game didnt register that i took the deluxe and ultimate stuff from the journalist stash
put them back and grabbed them back and these 2 locations got checked out
i visited the last stash in pripyat and it should've ended the quest

and then they will spawn there
doesn't work for me. it triggers but then immediatly Beard and Sultan die and the mercs spawn on the opposite side of the craneyard. i feel like every solution i watched doesn't work for me its bizarre.
fixed it. not sure but apparently visting the schevchenko and sleeping there solved the issue.
Im about 330+ hours in on my 1st run thru. In Yaniv, the small main quest to defend the town against mon forces can easily be skipped by just opening the tavern door partially and then stepping back inside and approaching the back wall. it will autocomplete lol.
then i ran outside and ransackked a gaus gun. --> master difficulty. 0 fs given
@fringe bear theres a place where u can throw grenades to trigger the enemy mercs.
@fringe bear it 100% will work just throw enough grenades at that particular spot behind the wall
Again, it resulted in an auto kill of Beard and Sultan and the Mercs spawned only on the far side of the dock
that's strange, this workaround was advised even by GSC #📜┃gsc-answers message
but anyway, glad you've fixed it otherwise
i used over a dozen grenades but then the weird ending triggered. its likely just one of those wild bugs that happens from time to time thats stuck on a playthrough or whatever.
you have to throw the grenades while still on the tower. The minute you touch the ground u autofail it. I had to toss them from the first platform you climb up on after resolving the sniper.
I had to aim at the bit of broken wall across from the tower, that has vehicle behind it, (aim at the point behind the wall in between the vehicle & wall) pointing to the building with the meeting taking place. Took me going thru 20 grenades to figure out the spot was not closer the opposite way towards the building. Just need to get them behind the wall.
bro, i already answered this same statement about 6 times already. it didn't work for me. the moment a grenade lands the sultan and beard are auto killed and the mercs ONLY come from the far end of the yard. I watched both a video of a non-bugged playthrough AND a bug fixed playthrough where i learned of this and mine didn't work. it always auto failed until i restarted the mission from the begining and went to the Schevchenko, slept and then came back to the craneyard for the mission.
Well then I dunno what going wrong for you. I did that exact thing personally & cleared it. Took a few reloads to time the location right. I had to wait until the end of the speech & have the woman freak out & get angry
again, i know. i did everything over and over for an hour. it only fixed itself when i slept at the Shevchenko and then the mission worked fine afterwards, didn't even need to do the grenade thing this time. i dunno.

the availability of some side quests are dependent on your main progression
I have been unlucky in finding several npcs again for side quests so I was trying to see if its better to look for them at different times than others.

continues to be my good friend: Yurko Fantomas. He apparently is part of the dynamic npc stuff & only appears in the lesser zone when he feels like it
in all 3 playthroughs (latest on patch 1.7+ vanilla) he's always at Deaf Meadow for me before Lesser Zone is out of lock-down
I had him there once. But every playthrough since, he's on walkabout elsewhere for me. I end up not being able to get his friends remains etc. nor the artifact. Just find a PDA on the ground.
There is a second npc in Garbage also not present for me: Vova Amalgam. He seems to have also gone off similar to Yurko
he too is at Electric Field for all 3 playthroughs (pre-SIRCAA)
when I walk by it I never come across him. have always wondered if they were triggered through other actions. The electro field is empty.
makes me truly wonder if the ps5 vs pc/xbox experience differs. it shouldn't as they should all be the same build. But there ya have it. I asked support & outside the vague nature of full answers they indicated the initiated dynamic npc system may have inspired them to explore the zone. I hate losing out on content because the AI in the game decides I shouldn't.

Starting to think Yurko Fantomas & his Bud Bubble have to be part of some random generator. I ran into Yurko cruisin around the windmill shootin at me. his bud Bubble was in the anomoly field this time fully loaded with 2 PDA's but no Yurko lookin for help. I wonder if I don't touch the body will it remain or disappear?
I can now confirm resolution to 1 of my two missing NPC's. Apparently Vova Amalgam won't appear in Garbage in his Escort position until you Locate Lex the Legend, he gives you a stash location & you retrieve it. Vova seems to be part of a chain - part 2 of 3 with Lex the Legend. If anyone was curious - hope it helps you!

Need some help with banzai tools mission, I have reached the boiler room parkoured to the 2nd floor small room and banzai tools are not on the table, the beep sound can be heard and its fast but the table is empty, I have tried reloading saves no luck

Question: I got Yurko Fantomas's friends corpse out of the anomaly field but when I leave he turns hostile? I'm rather confused. I did have to take the PDA off the corpse to pick him up but that didn't trigger any aggressive attitude?

Is A Big Score a timed quest? The quest after it (Deceive a Deceiver) auto completed?
yes, "A Big Score" is missable, although I am not 100% if it disappears after ||Ward takes over slag heap|| or after SIRCAA section
Not sure if "Deceive a Deceiver" is marked as completed or failed in this case, but you won't be able to complete it anyway
Plot wise I'm at searching the Technician's workshop.
I'm just confused as to why the quest chain completed out for order?

hmm, that's strange, probably the window for that quest is even shorter than I thought
I guess the best you can do is just to reload an older save when the quest wasn't automatically cleared yet
I guess that's expected behavior for similar timed quests

yeah if both your manual and autosaves don't have that quest available I guess then there's nothing you can do
btw if you are playing on steam, you can make copies of save folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Local\Stalker2\Saved\STEAM\SaveGames) before important story points to create an additional save slot for yourself
e.g. I highly suggest to make such save before you enter SIRCAA, there is a lot of content you may miss once you enter it

I am not really sure what you mean, but yeah, by default all mods disable achievements, although there are ways to bypass. E.g. if you're using something like dev console (Simple BP Mod Loader), I think you can just put .pak files directly into the folder with default .pak files or just rename ~mods folder into smth else (from what I've heard)
and also I've heard there is a mod that disables disabling achievements by mods

Hey guys, Got a huge issue with a bugged Quest. I started doing Once upon a time at Kazkovyi but i explored the Area way before i got Banzai out of the Red forest. Now im supposed to clear the Threats from that one building and i also already got inside of it Hours before the quest started and triggered some of the Traps. did i Lock myself out of the Quest now because it doesnt finish after killing the mutated rats in there and collecting everything of the corpses inside. i installed a method to access Dev Console to maybe force the quest to finish but im either too Stupid to use the commant correctly or it doesnt work. Quest ID is SQ97.
Does anyone know of any glitches in the Dead Frequency mission? I was trying to eliminate Alpha Team, and I did one, but the other guy leaning over the crack I talked to and he ran away. Kinda forgot I was supposed to eliminate them as I have a tendency to take a Lawful Good route in games. 😐

So I'm playing on master and I'm at the Three Captains mission. I'm trying to save Beard and the Sultan but no matter what I do they get killed and if I get close everyone shoots at me haha. I read it's possible to save them.
I don't trust this Sonya lady. I'm going to avoid it until they patch it lol
while on the tower, you need to lob grenades behind the wall along the road that heads to the building the meeting is held in. It's a known bug that requires the grenade to trigger the troops moving in. If you end up hitting the ground, its impossible to save them.

the quest is available only after "Hot Trail" mission (waste processing station) and before "A Minor Incident" (between Duga assaults I guess)

Its quite common like lets say dlc for Fallout 3 or Oblivion. Usually people have save files near the end to quickly jump into new content.
Yeah, but what if the DLC is gatekeeped much sooner, just like this mission ? Past a certain point you’re screwed, meaning you have to reload an older save. Would be upsetting, just like it is now

About the new X 18 quest, is this normal that, from one certain point i keep having psy effect and i cant remove them ?
If Cost of Hope launches alongside the 5.5.4 engine upgrade then it is possible all older version saves may be bricked anyway, or otherwise severely bugged when trying to access the new content vs. the clean slate of a fresh save.
So it is hopeful to leave some saves both right around the crumbling of SIRCAA & also the 1st Duga Assault with Cost of Hope info revealed so far placing it in the wake of the crumbled D4 Treaty ( not sure about if it will have a progress cap on the other end like Sealed Truth beyond just the point of no return). I had found keeping some scattered manual saves before major decisions was invaluable for playing through different sides of story bits & also goin for 100% completion.
But my major point here is that we may all end up restarting to access the content in Cost of Hope. I agree it is particularly annoying especially for that to have not only a minimum but also a maximum progress point at which it's even available, but also understandable that sometimes the narrative demands certain story point for its injected existence to even make any sense.
GSC could easily just not have locked out this new quest for 99% of the player base..I’d love to hear theories on why they did

it's most likely based on GSC's intention for roughly when the events of the mission take place canonically & in regards to those other major events of the main campaign.
They obviously have some idea of an established chronology for these additional story bits and are trying to deliver a parallel unfolding narrative through them. This narrative must be cohesive with the chronology of events of the main campaign.
Maybe there are also some gameplay design reasons for it, like not wanting endgame-equipped players to blaze through this additional content with their late game gear and then complain about its length or difficulty?
Ultimately, I agree wholeheartedly that the "maximum point of progress" trope is particularly annoying & they certainly should at least have let us know about this in advance; wouldn't have all this backlash of folks in same boat that only have saves right before the actual point-of-no-return endgame segment & otherwise need to restart the game and make some decent progress to even be able to see the quest, but doing so sounds counterintuitive with the engine upgrade proverbially around the corner and a restart very possibly required for that & Cost of Hope as well, which then ya that is pretty discouraging to want to start a new playthrough you may end up tossing out eventually, for what amounts to what is a single hour-or-less new quest
I deeply appreciate such a well-thought-out and intuitive response from you. I will say that if this quest came along with the full engine update and even the whole next DLC, I could almost understand having to restart, considering the enormity of the changes. In fact, I would argue that a restart would be in order, considering how different things could possibly be, but all of this for as you say even just an hour of content is ridiculous and rather disappointing.

Maybe with GSC facing more major delays with the 2.0 engine upgrade & even with wondering what to fix that wouldn't break again come 2.0 with this 1.9 upgrade before then, they had wanted to throw us a bone of sorts with giving Sealed Truth as a bonus now instead of later because of those further delays with the update pipeline.
I also thought it was a little strange that they had the ATB almanac & card collab dropping on the same day as Sealed Truth considering that it has some information relevant to it, but otherwise heavily covers some classic Zone lore & especially juicy details of the upcoming Cost of Hope expansion, this contains some information that is yet-unseen anywhere else, seemingly some of that even potentially lite spoiler information regarding certain things in the DLC that I wonder if we're originally intended to be revealed closer to or alongside Cost of Hope
So idk can't be sure but to me these details add some plausibility to thinking that some bump was hit along the way in getting those out closer together & generally sooner so we ultimately got the 1.9-ready UE 5.1.GSC build preamble quest with the pre-UE 5.5.4 & engine upgrade update + game version 2.0
I have saves right at the crossroads for all the endings, I did that thinking maybe one ending will come up canon sooner or later
I also have a few saves at various points … the one right before stepping into SIRCAA served me well for this Cost of Hope teaser mission.
Dang I’d be sad if my saves end up being bricked, I spent so much time opening every door and turning every rock lol
Definitely a smart move to do generally anytime manual saving is permitted! But yeah I am a little bit fearful that engine upgrade will make any prior save games incompatible or at least potentially come with a lot of bugs versus starting 2.0 on clean slate.

im doing his side quest "a school of life" for the first time, but im stuck on "return to honta" after defeating a burer
who is just idle in his chair and the only thing I can ask him is "what's new around the zone" no matter how many times/days I pass, it never updates.
If you have practically any mod on, Honta’s quest will be bugged

How do you actually start Sealed Truth?
You can only start it at the specific moment in the story, after the quest "Hot on the Trail" and before starting the quest "A Minor Incident"
But there are some workarounds, you can:
- install a mod, that enables this quest at any point in the story (called smth like "Early X-18 quest");
- find a save for your game edition and replace your save file with it (you can find one here #⭐┃основна-тема message and don't forget to do a backup of your save files)
- install a dev console (Simple BP Mod Loader) and trigger this quest using it

If you're hostile to bandits he'll attack you on sight, i had the same thing happen
oh i did shoot them up in the facility nearby, but hey they shot first lol

or B: breaks after loading a save and starts walking out himself
which only further makes it seem like the anomaly's kill zone is bugged
because I walked the exact path he took after bugging out and leaving on his own
but got zapped
I genuinely have no idea what I'm supposed to do here because it seems Skif and this guy have entirely different "set off anomaly and die" ranges

That new quest has at least 4 endings doesn't it? I did find it disappointing that we could just sell the stuff we found to any common vendor. I did like how if was integrated across the zone tho. Certainly makes you think about your politics.
Not sure on the endings, but I agree with the parts. Would've been really cool if not only we used the "Map" note, but we put together a make-shift key or something to open the doors, etc
