they already said they went to unreal engine because it’s cheaper and easier to hire devs for it

they make their engine run on literal flow charts and such basic things that it makes optimisation non existent

the flaw with it is making it so easy to make a game because they try to make it so easy that they skip people learning the things they need to learn to make good optimised games instead of just relying on unreal engine to do it for them

Especially due to the electrical fire they had a couple years back which basically forced the game to be in it's current neutered state with some lackluster mechanics compared to the old games. The seeming majority of Stalker fans being unaware on why S2 came out the way it did is also another reason. Best not to say much to avoid getting more unjust hate.

top 3 reasons why you shouldnt

1. horrible penetration, the gun has horrible penetration and its basically an ammo waster (theres better options) soon youll run into monolith that tank 14 9x39 bullets out of that gun from after sircaa all the way to pripyat, and trophy will not last through the end game sequence

2. it has a fixed sight which kinda makes the gun worse in a way, people use a 2x or a 4x acog for better target acquisition and allat plus it helps when shooting through thin gaps between barricades and allat

3. 9x39 is weirdly a little expensive and sucks

basically they put a fatter bullet on a 7.62x39 casing

the idiotic myth surrounding 9x39, 9x21, 4,6x30 and 5,7x28 that they are meant to have some sort of extraordinary penetration characteristics stems from a misunderstanding of their history and parroting the word armor penetration by everyone
all of these cartridges were meant to retain as much armor penetration as possible for different reasons however because they are either pistol calibers or subsonic their penetration remains quite low compared to even 5.56 or 5.45 because they just lack energy even if the projectiles used in them use exotic materials like tungsten carbide
