Its definitely not for everyone. I play with the black market mod so the economy is less bad. The basebuilding is really cool. At least we have varied experiences and people will eventually find what they like.

Going into gamma blind was relentless, there are some decent guides out there, but if you're at all familiar with a lot of anomaly mods (and in particular anomalies base weapon condition system) you'll find it's really addictive in gamma

yes... but at the same time, there is a posibility the game could have never made the light of day and never have stalker ever again because the x-ray engine didnt have the tool to make the game release, the x-ray engine + update would have been the best case scenario for alife if money and time wasnt a problem.
But UE engine has so many tools to speed up developmenent, that an AA studio like GSC cannot say no also taking in consideration their financial stituation at the time (2022)

thats your opinion, i think to play stalker 2 with friends , and experience the zone just like we experience the zone with other npc is right up the alley of the stalker experience. The very stalker movie from Andrei tarkosvky is about a group of men experience a foreign location and finding meaning in it. Stalker 2 online can be a group of friends visiting a foreign place and finding meaning in it. Maybe is the campfire chats, maybe is the horrors, maybe is trading and stealing, maybe its just walking with friends in a radiated wasteland saying few words or none to each other.

it has way too many complex mechanics compared to fallout games, programming wise is much much harder to replicate a stalker game , thats why there are almost none, only similar games like stalcraft or "stolen assets" game , but they copy the aesthetic not the enviromental hazard and npc reactivity and autonomy

ah yeah im asking about s2. been playing on the "stalker" difficulty and the AI does too little damage it seems.. Especially since the game has such a nice auto saving feature i think veteran difficulty is fine

Atom RPG is much like FO, it uses a similar formula but it may be easier to approach since it's a more modern game made in unity and natively works and is supported
it should get you accustomed to how CRPGs work and the basics of build creations, it isn't hard if you know what youre doing but it can give you a kick in the butt to make sure you're paying attention, it's a good choice for begginers if they dont wanna deal with FO1
