I just honestly love this game

Now I won't say "it's the perfect game ever and you should go buy it" its far from it, to me it's just another Bethesda universe I get to explore

And from recent titles this actually has more depth than oblivion and skyrim, the combination of ship and base building, armor mods are way better, legendary buffs are way better, choices have a lot of impact

It can get repetitive, like a lot

Stalker 2 is the only game in the franchise I’ve played, as the originals and mod pack are on pc, but was the A life better in the originals? I have seen videos and they typically act the same somewhat… besides that of gamma/anomaly of course.

S2 a-life is more advanced in some areas, lacks some features in other areas

Clear-Sky was a very visualized system where you could see squads on the map a lot of the time and who owned what area, it's what some people want to see, though the genereal idea of factions capturing areas and expanding from them does actually exist in S2, just less visualized.

Made for some cool gunfights but also frustrating when I’ve been sneaking and moving methodically for awhile just to get jumped by enemies in an area that I had just scanned before moving to

stalker 2 is more like open world but most of the file size is the animations specifically all the weapon animations

yeah, there's currently essentially two ways enemies are spawned, the a-life system, where every 12-16 minutes a squad is spawned by a faction to expand, these squads have their own needs, their own tasks, etc. They are spawned in the offline sphere, so they don't actually pop up in the game until you get close.

The other system is a sort of "director" which spawns events like fights around the player, these do not exist in offline. At release it was only this director spawning which worked.

Mostly had to do with performance afaik, it had to run on xbox S series. The squad system is essentially the most advanced we've seen in any stalker game, squads have their own needs, and more importantly can also dynamically change their members to other squads, so squads can split off and join together, this never existed in the originals

animations are information on sequential bone movements, they are literally just a bunch of coordinates, usually, they weight not more than 50kbs

It might not be up to them. Sony is very strict about modding on their platform like they don’t allow you to use new textures and other code things not already in the game iirc. Its why like Fallout 4 mods are so limited
