1. Too little done on the technical side of things. Community-made patches and engines fix and improve more things than any official attempt at doing so.
2. Almost 2 decades of mods do not work on the Enhanced Editions, and most of them cannot be upgraded to work with the EE. Furthermore, the modding guidelines are pretty restrictive, so consoles (Xbox, Playstation, Switch) do not get the same modding capabilities as PC.
3. Enhanced Edition is practically abandoned at this point.
4. There is no Switch 2 upgrade.

Why Enhanced edition is good:

1. It makes vatniks cry that "there is no russian" in the game.
2. It forces everyone to play the superior Ukrainian localization, which actually does have the Russian language, but the whole world is stylized in a definitive version that makes the Zone actually feel real from a cultural standpoint. There are more layers to the Zone's lore based purely on which faction uses which language with which accent.
