I’m no expert on optics so I can’t say.
But it feels impressive to be able to be able to condense a 6x scope into around a third the size within 50ish years.
Not to mention the fact that you could now actually make a decent number of them. They would no longer be extremely rare often times custom sights.

I’m not saying that improving optics was by far the most complex revolutionary advancement for warfare.
I’m just saying you went from a handful of soldiers using these massive scopes with no field of view. To marksmen being placed all along trench lines on all sides, often times using these (relatively) small scopes.
And now you have guys hitting targets 4km away. That would be incomprehensible to an 1860s sharpshooter.

i think when 1.8 released, there was a laggy pda bug when you had some graphics option set to ultra, maybe shadows... but that affected only the pda, not the game fps itself

The game still has an issue on weaker systems where FPS can fluctuate (although the 'Rostok' factory was fixed, at least for me). The 100-meter NPC visibility bubble is still there. While NPCs outside of it are doing something, you don’t see it. The game still doesn’t have binoculars, but they will be added over time. Sometimes there are bugs where LODs are only visible when you get closer

I know there’s a way to Malachite through chemical plant (region south of Yantar and Rostok), there may be one for Yantar too.
You don’t need to get in the facility itself to get the armor, it’s in the exterior.
But you get a lotta coupons for the mutant parts missions inside too.
