Skif got his new home he got out of the zone etc I think that’s definitely the least bleak ending. In his mind he got everything he wanted and asked for by doing what he had to🤷‍♂️

except he ruined all of the stalkers lives, C-consciousness agents can now be used to do whatever dirty work those who control it want, Skif is also implied to be one of them now too, also you had to kill Richter, the man who saved your life and the monolithians will likely remain enslaved to the will of whoever control them. seems like a very bleak ending to me. the best ending is arguably skifs ending as the zone is free, the monolithians can potentially be set free by skif and as the doctor(who turns out to be faust all along) theorized the zone was only hostile becasue the people were treating it liek a test subject and once freed to do as it wants it coudl make the world a better place.
