Stalker 2 modding community is indeed large as heck. The people who made Stalker Gamma of which is free IIRC, are also the same people looking to use Stalker 2's engine and available assets to make the game itself a whole lot more fun. The fact that the devs support modding is also a huuuuge thing. cough cough if they had the money, they could hire the modders XD

Let me add in more context, main devs of Arc raiders are planning to add a PVE mode that is offline and solo only

So without the thrill of meeting other players, I say fighting arcs alone will be tedious as their AI is freaking intelligent

So if stalker had that kind of AI where it adapts to the situation on the fly, wouldn't that be tedious also? They would have to buff guns to or make them do the same damage to them as they do to you

There is a lot of balancing issues that would arise if we had actual smart AI

Like im okay with being caught off guard because of a smart Flank, but not when AI adapts to flanking and at the same time flash while pushing, you would have to find something that would counter their tactics, and currently in stalker 2 there is no option that counters any of that

My main issue is that I have seen AI with snipers engaging combat at short range. They should be hanging back from the rest of the squad. I've seen Monolith do it when they had guass rifles but I am pretty sure that's scripted to a quest.

Not always. They still apply the same squad AI tactics just got better gear. So far the AI from what I see is good. Shotgunners rush in to maximize damage. Those that use rifles or smg's tend to stay around medium range unless in a building.

Still it's not great. The HECU from Black Mesa got some great combat AI.
