I've said this before, but 15 years of modding plus people having shit memory has led to a lot of misinformation and mythologizing surrounding A-Life in the original trilogy.

Right now I just push people towards Vatislavovych's video on the 1.7 patch, because he gives a really good breakdown (with demonstrations) of how the system worked in each entry of the trilogy, and how it's working in S2 now.

The thing the devs need to do, is mark items as stolen... For example, walking into a ward base and stealing everything that isn't nailed down... Picking up weapons and ammo... No one cares... If NPC's acted accordingly to you stealing their stuff, the game would be so much more immersive... I know, there are a couple of places this happens, but it should be everywhere.

I'm finding that I really like the 12 gauge conversion for the Rhino, yes capacity and ROF are limited, but it punches as hard as the RAM-2 and frees up a primary weapon slot for an SMG or sniper, adding versatility to my loadout. Skif's pistol is good, but it's a backup, and in most cases that I'd be using 9x39, I'd rather be using 5.45 or 5.56

It sounds like your mod staging folder is in the wrong drive

It doesn't matter where Vortex is installed, just click on the game, and then under general click on settings, and then click on mods

From there you can set the staging folder as the same drive as the game, regardless of if Vortex is installed in a different drive or not
