Understandably this could not be done for every lost soul, but as we look to Stalker 2 & its world being a sort of future foundation of this IP & community, that would be a really beautiful way to immortalize and allow paying respects to those who've fallen. From the iconic gas masks atop crosses to any of the candlelit vigils with religious icons placed throughout the map, there's no shortage of ways this could be represented respectfully, to both the game world of S2 itself and also to those real souls they pay tribute to. Just an idea but thought it was worth sharing

I do have the 1.7 update info in the main menu

but-- there is no patch from 1.7.1 to 1.8.1
the latest patcher doesn't run, "version mismatch"

I think it's been very well implemented in DayZ & understandably the smaller map here may mean some greater density ultimately 🙁 but regardless, not like you are going to be tripping over them left & right, and if done well they just become one more piece of detail amidst the Zone's scenery while also standing as real tribute

Basically i didn’t want to use their galaxy launcher for automated updates, because I’m sitting on linux and their app doesn’t bite well with my setup. So the frequent updates gave me headaches, and i bought second copy on Steam, and there i made two more playthroughs

Yes, because of the app design, feels like written in monolithic form. Unfortunately till they not release a native for linux, there isn’t much we can do. Apparently from testing how that bug works, so far all I've gotten is that if you sprint and press the inventory or quick menu while simultaneously oressing sprint, you'll be in full jog to sprint permanently until you reload your quick save

Yup, saving is your best friend, but it won't take you away from the experience

And also as well, play how you want l, there will be people saying "Play all.of them on Master difficulty" but from like constant testing the difficulties on my own time, I found that Damage is boosted slightly, but playing on normal is still adequate enough to have a good experience, especially with the updates, Damage is pretty much wel balanced across the board

I've actually found controller aim to be leagues better now than the various issues at launch with poor center & axial deadzones. Now that we can set deadzone values & especially custom aim curves (takes some learning) ala bezier control it's actually pretty great & I have even turned off aim assist completely, honestly now it's up there with one of the best console titles for me as far as potential accuracy with thumbstick aim is concerned. I've found much greater ability to have precise creep while still maintaining the ability to quickly snap around & between targets, though I do think the max turn rate still needs to be increased for console, related I've found the act of tracing small circles has been great for really practicing this precision.

I use: controller sensitivity 100% aim sensitivity 55% both deadzones < 3% and my custom aim & movement curve settings are as follows:

The bolt attacks just stun you for 1s and they dont even try to get closer after using them

I guess the idea was they stun you for other enemies but in most cases the location is designed in such a way that the controller appears after everything else is dead or its isolated from other threats

GSC has got quite a different vision of what vanilla Stalker 2 should be vs. some of those more sandbox freeplay mods, plus Grok seems disinterested in making mods for S2 & rather focusing on GAMMA itself. Just can't expect all of these various features to get baked into vanilla, but it is great to have mod support regardless so end users can curate their experience. I do wish that S2 looked a bit more to Anomaly & other freeplay mods rather than sticking so strongly to what the old games had mentality because I mean after all these years it's more that kind of modded experience that has kept Stalker in the limelight & gamers do tend to understandably expect more these days in every sense but hey that's what we have mods for & a lot of already great "anoma-like" mods are available already

It’s not just you, plenty of people are experiencing the same issue, there was also some busted spawn points that came with 1.7 but a few of them have been fixed already, not sure about all of them. Burers and poltergeists are still launching objects through solid walls etc which should not be happening. That’s been around a month or so now.
