I think armor in Stalker 2 is very weird in terms of it's distribution.

8 exos, yet only 3 of them are acquired before Pripyat. Arguably the worse ones.
And then all of them you can get within a relatively easy walk. But once you're in Pripyat, you won't have things to do with them, it's the very end of the game.

Question is: If the obvious best one (and fan favorite from the looks alone) is right there before the other ones - why other ones exist and who will use them, for what reason?

Same with general armor.
Why would anyone bother wearing bandit jacket?
Why would anyone wear Sunrise, if it's just easier to get SEVA-D or whatever?
Why would anyone wear X7 suit, if there are just no helmets that are good, and also, hey, Diamond is right there?
Why would anyone bother upgrading mediocre suit, when it's so expensive and they won't have funds to upgrade all the suits they find and switch to?
Why would anyone change suits once they find new ones, if cheaper but upgraded suit would be still better than plain more expensive, and again, no funds to upgrade everything?

-Falcon on Malachite
-Exoskeleton (I've got Operator free on a corpse in burnt forest, cool find, didn't use, I've got Shturm when sneaking into Pripyat early actually upgraded it to check it out, but in the end switching to Diamond anyway)

Sure, it's a fair amount of switched armors, but also... not that much compared to the amount of armors in the game?
And I also keep finding A LOT of other armors later, than just infinitely inferior to my current ones.

I havent tried master yet personally but thats a really cheesy mechanic. If my gun is "100%" (i.e ive cleaned and maintained it properly) the chances of it jamming should be incredibly low, as is the case irl. Just raising the chance for bad things to happen with no consideration for whether it makes sense is a bit silly

I understand the frustration. I've shut off the game several times due to dying over and over on boss battles but that one didnt take so many tries. Find a corner to camp, focus on the rechargers and pick off the npcs from the right side of your cover. Keep an eye on the left side too in case an npc gets too close.

I think the weapons break too fast, and they do based on real life statistics. AK supposedly can go for 50,000 - 100,000 rounds if looked after properly, and supposedly "immortal" if used on semi a lot. But if you used those amounts in a game, you'd NEVER notice a need to repair or so, so there is a balance to be made

Though I recall the final usage of it in the game being super underwhelming, utilizing it to get into the Troposphere Command Center. The guards let you in, they accept the badge and then they don't go hostile until you have the unavoidable dialogue moment of mentioning being there for Project FIBER instead of whatever ruse, and then they they ask for a moment, the conversation ends and they just immediately aggro with the sort of lightswitch jank you'd expect there lol, leading to the exact same altercation you'd have had if you used any other entry option sans the dialogue of that scene first

When you go to the Boat and get the Tools, you are sent here next. This is what most people will see.
However, because I went to this location first, it has massive changes if you go after getting the Tools.

If you’re looking for context as to what the zone is and the factions are before getting into Stalker 2, I wouldn’t say SoC is the best game to do it, you kinda need to play all of them to get a good idea of the lore. But SoC provides MOST of the storytelling that the other two games expand on

Yesnt, most of stalker 2 is pretty much just continuing off of already established info from the trilogy, but it adds new things and retcons others. To say it’s standalone isn’t correct but a new player can pick up what’s going on pretty easily

Man I'd been saving every single mutant part i collected because i assumed Viktoria would buy it like she does the 3 "quest" parts. Apparently thats not the case so i sold everything except Buyan, Chimera, and Armored Elk and got 110k Koupons

I actually had been by there very briefly when I was first trying to get the radio signal to start the quest, had an emission happen and in a panic found myself nearest there unable to get in the main building it was saying is safe, and then settling for a different location & hadn't returned so I didn't pay it much mind in that moment & forgive me if I'd missed the obvious (_) there already lol
