In a way, but not at all like the trilogy. In the trilogy, at least the most developed part of them, you could hear people fighting against others, against mutants, travelling to a location. They made the game a bit more rich in terms of immersion

Spark doesn’t need to put their recourses into higher psi protection because most of their members are heavily experienced in the zone and their main priority is thinning out the wards ranks and monolith if they stand in their way.
Sircaa’s suit is more optimized for enduring rough expeditions and gathering research, which sometimes requires said scientists to venture into psi infested areas.

little tip btw: think of the trilogy as more of an arcade experience than a hardcore one
And also, when you are shooting, try to not move, crouch and while using single fire more (it helps more than doing single fire bursts on automatic mode). SoC and CS's accuracy in early game is bad, so this will help you a ton (even at late game)

You can compare the fully upgraded SSP-100I Survey, that has 8kg more
carry capacity, than the SSP-100M, which has much better Psi protection,
slightly better anomaly protection but not as good physical protection.
Plus the SSP-100M SIRCAA weighs 7kg, which means the SSP-100I only carries 5 kg more.

Yes, when you loot, you will be overburdened. The idea is not to max it out so you can't move.
You need to keep your carrying capacity in the green range to run. In the yellow range to loot.
If you get in the red range, you really need stamina artifacts to help you when carrying loot.

It's just a different way to play your game and it's totally legit, but like, if you just want to grab everything and also be able to sprint everywhere, I don't think there's a rebalance you'd like short of making stamina/weight penalties go away
