Here’s how I like to put it, shadow of Chernobyl is the most linear but also most challenging of the original trilogy intentionally.
Clear Sky is a bit weird overall, and the shortest if you focus on just the story, but the gunplay sucks due to weird bullet spread.
Call of Pripyat is the most open of the original trilogy but it is also the easiest by far

I honestly hate the way psydogs work in S2. They just feel unfair and tedious. In the original trilogy, if you got the jump on one, or found out which one was the real one, they really weren't a challenge. It wouldn't be so bad if the real dog didn't teleport between its copies, that's just BS.

Chimeras just need to not be tanks. Sure they should have some degree of toughness just due to their size and strength, but in COP you could kill one with a sawn-off if you knew what you were doing.

There are also apparently some mutants that don't have headshot damage multipliers, which is absolute horse shit imo.
