It got popular in recent years because of Gen 4. It was actually just a well-written, well made show that ended up appealing to teens and adults, not just children. It's the same thing with Bluey; good writers who understand that teens and adults will be watching these shows with their younger siblings/children, and put in the actual effort and work to make them genuinely good and appealing to all who watch them.

nah, 9x39 is quite common and far cheaper
closer with 7.62 by 54r, but it's much more common. Think about how many npcs have svds over mark 1's
it's quite non-viable in every stage of the game, especially in veteran considering the damage and ammo cost

besides, 7.62 by 54r ball is FAR more common than cheap .308 considering the pkm gives you like 20-30 every time you kill someone with it

That's the thing...the 'progression' system is the 'entire new system of gunplay into a game not designed for it'.

STALKER is where guns are realistic, meaning yes, the AK-74 and the Malyuk do the same damage ballistically, with minor differences to account for other factors. This is exactly how it was in the trilogy and GSC ruining it for S2 is ridiculous.

Never felt that; all guns were basically equal to me, except for the over-powered Gauss Rifle.

in SOC the AK is worse than the AN or the Abakan, the TRs301 is worse than the SGI and then both get superseeded by the Ft200m
in CS this also happens but the game gives you the ability to bridge the gap of a gun with its next of progression, but will still be superseeded by better guns down the line

i do agree it would make more sense to have guns of the came calibre do the same/similar damage but that's not how they've designed the game, introducing that system into s2 is putting a circle in the square hole, so to speak

besides, there's not enough range in the game currently to make guns of the same calibre perform differently balistically have a real affect on gameplay

for instance, how is a remington 700 and a m14 EBR supposed to show their balistic differences over 100 mitres or less? that doesn't fit with the game, so they gave them different stats to make them different

I think it's not how it's designed to be played, that being said I will be trying it on my next playthrough coz it seems everyone in this server is obsessed with it
