Either with the ODST armor, or the green Light Armor, that’s what I do.
I creep around the edges of Bug Hives and close the holes with a shot from Autocannon, sprint.
I enjoy moving faster than the bugs. It makes my hit and run feel good. ODST armor doesn’t suck.
But I hate the rifle.

But I personally cannot justify using that MA5C.
It feels worse than its inspiration.
To me, that is.

Whenever anyone calls up a Charger or a Bile Titan, I just swap to AP rounds on the Autocannon, and stun it.
Give the team time to drop their favorite Orbital and get away.

It can also blow a Charger’s literal ass off with three AP rounds.
One shot most mobs smaller than a Charger, with Flak rounds.

Military should be similar, except you rarely see them. Why would they send patrols deep into the zone? Their deal is to protect the checkpoints. Perhaps.once in a while there will be a squad sent out on some mission, but as above why would they waste time and resources trying to kill everyone instead of proceeding to their objective. It would make sense to have patrols a few hundred meters out from their checkpoints however, but again they wouldnt just attack everyone, although they could be made to tell you to back off or else

TBF, Mercenaries are paid to do a job...meaning they ensure their own survival and the fact that they don't want some random other mercenary to steal their job from them.

I tend to respect Korshunov's loyalty to and care for his troops, even though I reckon he + The Ward are being used by SIRCAA and the board/Agatha to further their own agendas. I have to check this again in a future playthrough maybe. I only recall them warning me to stay away, and not be hostile like Ward snipers from Chemical Plant can be when they are 'red' to you (similar to Monolith snipers when you shouldn't be somewhere where you aren't supposed to be). 🤷‍♂️

The point is that, to them...they're in an active threat zone and anyone who they don't know approaching is a threat. Considering how many times the protagonist can get ripped off and/or led into near-death situations by basically anyone, it makes sense for them to shoot any unidentified person on sight.

IPSF has the same clothing as Degtyarev's Corps, and their job is to keep you out, since anyone that's not SIRCAA/Ward/Malachite are basically illegal inhabitants.

Feeds in to late game when you get a rep, bandits more chance to run off if they recognise you. But maybe not, good rep if you take him out right

Would be cool if 90% of the time mercs are neutral, but sometimes they do go after you if their objective is the same as yours (or you are the objective) so you keep your distance just to be safe

I mean, we already have someone making special 'Zone Vodka' in the game. I don't think it'd be a huge stretch for some Zone bandits to eventually become Narco-like groups, creating basically hardcore drugs or whatever with a sprinkle of 'Zone magic', and ending up as powerful and as a well-geared of some real-life Narco orgs. Bandits faction doesn't have to be just like low-life losers. Actually, Kalina's plans would've probably led to something like that (although I've never sided with her).

Bandits are sneaky and keep back unless they feel they have a good chance of winning, military stick to their areas but sometimes will have a specific mission and will kill anyone in their way

Haha, my experience with Mercs is similarly different to yours. They always attack only after I've slighted them in some way (like messing with that one guy in Rostok or messing with/trespassing on their mutant operations)

I remember in my very first playthrough, Mercs didn't spawn as much as they are now.
There's a warehouse in the game where one of the cages has a snork and a bag in it, the Mercs there are neutral/friendly/not attacking until you release the abominations, now they're attacking you regardless.
Something went horribly wrong at some point.

Something bugged after an update I what I thought, I'm pretty sure it also bugged some quest like that one where you help some guy, heal him with medkit, and he allow you to loot his pal's corpses, you can get 2 modded viper 5, one of them even have the Pistol Silencer on(Vector compatible), still piss me off til now
