When you are modding your suit, obey the different ways to upgrade, there are sometimes 2 ways to walk but only one possible. E.g. when the suit is very good against PSI, you could give more attention to electric or chemical protection

IIRC theres a signature SG named sledgehammer, already equipped with some externals, also a good start if found

Bloodsuckers are sometimes hard to kill, because of their invisibility and just shooting the blur is costing ammo. Just retract into a corner and let them come, when unveiling, shot their heads. Prefer if possible armor piercing ammo or alternatively expansive ammo. But last listed is damaging your weapon more than others

What really makes the difference at this point is radius and small immersive oriented features like dynamic life sycle, mutant/artifact hunts, and stuff like that. Combat-wise, it's quite good now (issues related to damage are 99% due to balance issues, so we can't really put it on AI mostly.)

The damage issue is because stuff is locked behind story progression, and all the mutants are just bullet sponges, because the Devs really don't have the ability yet, to create the nuanced AI, that would allow the mutants to have behaviour that actually suits what they are.

No that was fine, that's what i got. I think when not on sale for the ultimate it works out that the upgrade is $5ish more then straight buying the ultimate over the standard

I remember getting ambushed my mercs in rostok, there was like a whole platoon of them, and there was a freedom squad just going for an afternoon stroll right in front of me. The mercs bullets just went around freedom somehow and I was trying not to hit them

I believe how the factions work in stalker 2 is that everyone is basically neutral to each other with some exceptions, bandits in some regions are hostile to most other factions, mercs are mainly hostile to the player but I believe I’ve seen them get in a fight with another faction. Military is hostile to the player only, I have seen military strolling around with freedom, duty, ward, and loners

But of course in some regions military is neutral to the player

And I have seen freedom and duty patrolling together so they are neutral

I genuinely want to get back into it, but it's still far from what was promised. and initially I was looking forward to be able to upgrade to deluxe, but with how we've been treated by GSC, it seems laughable now.

no communication, took them several months to release a vague and half-assed roadmap, no faction war dynamic because of some weird plot device, and the map.. I loved exploring it, hunting for artifacts and such, but after the initial excitement subsided, it just feels so empty and lifeless.

I actually kinda like that there’s no faction warfare in stalker 2, the whole idea of it in SoC and CS was very silly, well, in its silliness it was kinda realistic. These factions would rather fight each other than make actual progress, and their reasons for fighting are rather dumb which reflects many organizations irl. But still, it overstayed its welcome and I much prefer the uncertain peace in stalker 2

I do think in the wild though, factions that are technically neutral should fight over things like an artifact site or loot, or simply one squad from a faction just wanted to ambush another squad to take their stuff

Maybe not always fight, but it has a chance of happening

Their so called “conflict” in soc and cs was basically just a disagreement in power and resources rather than actual ideals

In CoP, well, yaniv is the only safe place, so they kinda had to make do, they did fight outside of yaniv though, it’s the same with skadovsk, loners and bandits shared it, even though the conflict between loners and bandits isn’t really a conflict, more just people from both sides being aggressive with each other and of course competing over resources and power. Bandits is a group of different gangs, and when you think about it, loners is also a group of different gangs

And there are opposing factions in stalker 2, they just don’t burn down the whole zone just to get at each others throats like in the trilogy
