is the ram-2 any better?
the Saiga and the Ram-2 mostly perform similarily. one is weaker, and shoots faster and reloads faster, and the other hits harder, shoots slower, reloads slower but holds more ammo, has a better range and less pellet dispersion making it more accurate.
i feel like mutants should have hp from easy mode, but damage from hard mode
alr, funny enough i haven’t actually used either despite finding a saiga, it was in red quality when it dropped from nimble and costed 13k and i didn’t wanna part with 13k when the SPSA is good enough for me currently
all the mutants are kinda easy if you just get in their face and mag dump them with a shotgun but i feel like that’s the only really effectively way i know of

it's also costly to upgrade and i think the earliest who can is the Tech in Yaniv. so you're not in a hurry.

Im still currently in the swamps in the main mission so Money is still kinda hard, i did a return trip though and farmed anomalies, just got enough for repairs and Seva suit upgrades lol

i mean, it probably did but the facts are the game has SO MANY ISSUES that one update or a few just simply is not enough

Gp37 is a poor gun, by the time you reach swamp you should have better weapons like clusterfc or Decider, I use clusterfc for its penetration and abundant ammo but very expensive to repair

i remember feeling like the GP was better than the Fora.
i do know the unique Fora in the base game, does slightly more damage than the Normal Fora.
Fora outshines GP in any possible scenario in stalker 2 specially the Decider a unique Fora

better stats and much cheaper ammo
or maybe it's the other way that the Fora does more damage than the GP.
yeah so according to the sheet, the Fora does a whopping, 1 point more of damage over the GP.
hopefully we can get some sort of balance in the future making earlier guns to be viable in late game
and then if you make it use 556 it then becomes 1 point weaker than the GP.
they also seem to share penetration stats but the GP has more range, like it has 35m and drop off at 25m compare to Fora's 30 and 22
GP also has a higher accuracy stat
the way the weapons are balanced currently makes the game feel very linear, you can feel once you found a better gun on the next area. It makes the previous weapons obsolete
are we talking about the 2 guns fully upgraded or its base stats?

likely just base stats because some guns have different upgrades and you can't really list things when there's 2 trees on most of them
tbh i havent used/upgraded the GP and Fora but I used and upgraded the Decider but ditched it for Clusterfc

Clusterfuck has less than half the durability of a normal AR416, but does 34 damage instead of 16, and has double the penetration.
revisited anomaly sites here and there for money, upgrading the seva suit costed me a ton
yes, that also means less ammo needed, the less you fire the less you repair

I just use the saiga for closer ranges and CF for mid to long range encounters, the +50 ammo drum is God send

it's like how if a gun takes 3 rounds to kill, but 2 with AP, then AP means your gun is less worn even if the AP rounds have an increased wear rate because the increase is not = to another shot's
yes you are right, because you shoot less and do not waste your shot because that thing needs alot of money to repair

the VSS does have a little more than double the durability when it comes to wear and tear from shooting it but that seems like it is the only stat that really matters here that it has over the Clusterfuck

you pay less for repairs/upgrades and they also pay more on the stuff you sell
because i had a guy in Rostok as green, noted down what i paid for a 40mm and it stayed the same until i got past a point in the story where it seems the value has gone up slightly

i am almost certain that you do not pay less for upgrades nor buying from them.
try selling/buying on a different area beside rostok, and compare it to zalisyaa or slagheap

i also noticed that when i accepted the mission it said the pay woukd be 5k, but when i finished it, i got a pop up for 8k
They increased how much you get from some missions, but I guess they didn't update the dialogue text when you accept the mission

no the markers are gone too, they full on despawned as soon as i killed the last one. i tried a few times to get their stuff by leaving one alive and i did it because 1 got wounded by the RGB i threw into the room.

oh wow. so in Rostok, there is an encounter between a loner and a freedomer where the freedomer sold some bandits a stash but they used the guns in the stash to kill their friends and the freedomer is saying it's not his fault but the loner is livid and starts shooting him, he won and then when i talked to him he says he's going to kill a kingpin that idk the name of, Pedal something maybe, turns out i already killed him so i told him and then when i got away from there he calls me up saying he checked and the guy really is dead so he thanked me and sent me some coupons. i wish there was more of this stuff in the game, i like that sort of thing

like realistically you wouldn't be able to just whip up fresh Radaway from some herbs, you'd need the tech and stuff. so your supply is limited. Ghouls don't need it to survive when coming back with loot from an irradiated place.

In lore they sort of do actually, Ghouls use radaway sometimes to prevent going feral or offsetting it

Well as its put radiation has no immediate effect on them - It doesnt heal them off the cuff either, like Charon doesnt heal off Rads - But it does other things
They get varying results, but radiation is definitely canonically known to accelerate ghoulification
well in Fallout 4, if you're in a place with radiation ghouls literally heal. using the Gamma gun on them? heals.
and there is literally the whole thing about the Glowing Ones too who literally heal Feral ghouls in 3 and NV iirc.

Man I'm really looking forward to the expansions. I want to do more dungeon delving in weird laboratories and metros. I loved the feeling of almost being lost in the later facilities in Shadow of Chernobyl.
I'm not sure if anyone will get this comparison but it was like in OG ES2: Daggerfall, with the generative dungeons being one of the purest survival horror experiences

main thing i heard is its stupid easy. which is a big turn off
I've finished the game twice, and the only progress block I had on the first playthrough was in Zalissya when the doors to the townhall wouldn't open during the attack.
while i haven't looked into or much, that feels like the first i hear of it in terms of difficulty
The co-op system is bunk, the game is over priced, the performance is bad, bad-faith microtransactions, and it probably should have just been a new expansion for MH:W instead of a new game.
dont care for co-op tbh but yeah the performance thing is something else ive heard a lot about. but i played through stalker and loved it lol
reviews are hard to trust nowadays
I'm biased too because when the game comes down to just grinding for new gear, it gets stale fast. After the main story or quest is done, I don't stick around the game too long, so it's just not for me really. I enjoyed Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak a lot, but again the endgame is just not for me unless there's new activites or story.

even with a Thunderberry, if you're in red while trying to stab some dogs or Rodents you're screwed. if you're not standing still or have toggled walking, you're taking forever to regenerate th stamina needed for a knife swing and i don't like that it works that way. especially when the game can just decide to spawn in a Rodent horde while you're hauling loot

back when i did the mission sometime in uh, prolly Dec, i was able to find the gun and the tools just fine but Hamster would die as if scripted.
The first time I played it went fine other than one quest
The collars bugged out as I had all but 1. The snork near garbage was already dead and game didn't register me looting the collar
That really wound me up at the time
but now i got the tools just fine, then i kept the gun, Hamster died as soon as the assault starts as if scripted annnnd i CANNOT GET RID OF THAT DAMN GUN
It felt like I was being punished for doing heavy exploration as I'm unsure if I did in fact kill the snork but left the collar for later
i am literally in X-5 and this damn thing still is quest marked.

According to the chart it should need 8 hits to kill a Pseudogiant, but I've taken them down in 3-6. 3 with all hits to the head (the one at mobile labs, never even got close to me before it died). Again, chart says it has no headshot multiplier, but it seems like it does to me.

What really irks me is the Lynx. It has a scope that you can't remove, and, while having more penetration than its normal counterpart, it has reduced range. Using the scope at long-range feels awful because of the insane universal bullet drop, but not being able to remove the scope makes it awkward to use in mid-range engagements due to flinching when shot.
i mean i looked at the range stat and it's not really that bad
it has 50% more pentration but 25% less range it seems
It feels like the bullet drop is worse than the fully modified AK74 with a scope.
i don't think i ever really shot at people from far enough away that i noticed drop....
It could be that I've not found much ammunition for the rifle yet. I do have about 70k saved up, but I'm going to dump it into upgrades after progressing the main story a bit further. I'm trying to refrain from buying ammo.

Probably not. The weapons are not at all how they would realistically perform. 9x39 would behave somewhat similarly from weapon to weapon, with some variations based on the weapon's design, but a modder poked through the game files and basically found that weapons use no such logic whatsoever. Guns in S2 dictate overall stats, rather than the ammunition.

However, it does still have the grenade launcher and I don’t know if the grenades are worse than 40mm but they’re lighter so it probably wouldn’t be bad to use if enemies are grouped.
I still need more practice with the launcher. It's been tricky trying to guesstimate the arc. I recall the Grom (Groza) having some bullet drop in the prior games, but you could compensate for that with upgrades. From my experience so far, it's difficult to discern which ranged upgrade (muzzle velocity/damage falloff/range/flatness) is best for any given situation because they are all appear really similar to one another, but seem to impact overall performance in small ways. Maybe I'm overthinking it when trying to optimize any given weapon.

Despite the game's many flaws and questionable design decisions. I think it's going to shape up really well in the coming months and years. It has really a good foundation. The community is going to go nuts when modding support is released, if Anomaly/Gamma is any indication.
generally i'd skip on velocity if you can because unlike the old games, Stalker 2 only has a draw distance of 100m and most of your fights happen well within those 100m

anyway so i took my Glutton PKM with me for the Duga raid and i've almost run 500 rounds through it and taken hits while i used it and it's only down to 72% condition, not bad
havent played since launch is performance better? are memory leaks gone? does the game still run horribly after sirrca?
i put some bursts into the thing with the PKM then switched to my Saiga
the first time i did it i had to fill that thing with mags while having doodoo performance.
it was much less of a struggle this time somehow despite me being on Veteran diff

then now, on Veteran, using a Saiga and some PKM bursts did it quickly enough, still had to take out some monolith to live but it went much quicker. but just 12 shots of a rhino feels like less than i spammed with the saiga lol
the lantern is the same as the ones that u shoot at the beginning it takes like 7 shots to blow them up u just got to be very accurate at hitting it on faust

and for whatever reason, using Buck you lose 8% of the damage.

Every few steps FPS tanks and input delay goes through the roof. How is it worse than last patch?
Weirder yet, opening and closing PDA sorts it out, then it crops up again ten feet later.
there's a google sheet from someone who's been doing datamining or something on the game, where he lists out damage numbers, armor pen and other stats that the game doesn't tell you very well.

man, i was checking out a place with the hallucination of artifacts, then a group of like 5 IPSF spawn and then an emission happens and i run to the nearest marker

and it's like only 1 room in the building that counts right and it starts damaging me while inside and then when i get to the room, i notice the several npcs there are hostile mercs..
happens to me all the time i love camping a building during an emission and seeing losers try and get safe not knowing im aiming at the door

the first run i did i helped basically all the factions but for Malachite i was against the Ward, then after that i couldn't get back in.
and now i have helped the Ward but the people who was there is no longer there and i was wondering if they come back because it feels a bit annoying if they don't when it's a place i would do repairs maybe and sell my loot and now i can't even travel from there either so i gotta run all the way back to Rostok when i'm done with looting the now opened parts of Duga.

I've noticed that certain quests or encounters haven't triggered on this playthrough. Not sure if its an RNG thing, or maybe a bug the devs are sorting out.

More and often did I need to fire off a 3rd shot today.
Slugs make a difference. Buckshot disperses in a cone. Slugs are a single projectile.

This can be extended I believe but I had times where it didn’t feel like it was working
I've noticed that some shotguns have upgrades that make the buckshot dispersion "tighter" and more accurate over longer distances. Considering that most shotguns don't have much range, its damage falls off considerably over a distance. Buckshot relies on being close to the enemy because you end up hitting with more of the pellets.
Meanwhile the Ram-2 has a 6.5m before dropping damage
The saiga is really good in close-combat, but I've not really found a tech that can upgrade it to bother using slugs. I just use the Rhino for tougher mutants - considering its crazy damage output.
Well I’m never really sure if it helps with Aimed shots or not but the Ram-2 can get so tight in hip fire it’s crosshair becomes a ring lol
Sometimes when shooting snorks when I was in X5 I also felt the Saiga had too much spread
So far, I think the best mid-range weapons are the Fora-221 and the unique Integral (Riemann, I think its called) you get from getting the special edition. The Fora has an absurd amount of spread reduction and recoil reduction, making burst-firing headshots great.
I just use a fully kitted Kharod. Full recoil control.
Welp, got to the stash on Wild Island and swapped my Saiga for my Dnipro till I can get it fixed

I do feel like the devs should look into how attachments work on guns like it seems if your gun has reduced weight, that will carry over to the attachments too.
And then there’s the issue with at least the 203 where switching to it for no reason, makes you like 1kg heavier. This was able to lock me in place too when I was going around with like 139,5kg of gear.

I think an Emission has always started everytime I’ve entered that underground part with an SVD in it
If you’re worried about it messing with zali then quick save, load earlier save, hard save , load quick save and see if it did mess with it.
It’s unlikely to really mess with it though as you’re in another region

The quest says he’s in it but he isn’t
it does that most times a character bugs out lol it'll tell you to go somewhere but nothing is there or nothing happens, at that point you either use a mod to force it or load a prior save
I’ll reload a quick save and wait for the emission to end before grabbing the emitter then

Hey i have a question, i played stalker 2 when it first came out and kept playing all the way until ||faust fight, i lost zalyssia and overall the game was super buggy at this point|| since the bug fixes and patches are implemented, should i restart and give it a new perspective? or continue playing on my save currently. I think im at the halfway point but if im not i would rather restart and replay it with the new systems
restart would only make sense if you reeeally wanna save zalissya or wanna try a different spark/ward path, IMO

man I completed all the side missions for zalissya after defending it besides one and when I left to go do it the quest just failed, not sure if it’s because I left the lesser zone or just another bug

I've been playing a lot of Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts the past years, and compared to it Stalker 2 is a diamond in the rough, while UAD is just... rough... (and 3 years after release VS 3 months for S2!)
I've enjoyed almost all my 200 hours in the zone immensely, despite some bugs, so much so it might be my favorite fps of the decade.

I love seeing all the moths flying around lights at night. makes the Zone feel real.
One of the things I love the most is just coming across places that aren't really part of a side or main quest, but they're almost set up to be and it turns into a little adventure anyway. Like the Lischyna Facility and the big excavator in Red Forest, or getting the codes to open locked safes and doors at various places through puzzles or something.
Oh yeah. I'm big on all the places you get to go, that are exaclty as you say. No main or side mission involved, but a dead body here, some supplies there, a location that you would otherwise have no reason to go to.
I like how you can be in the middle of nowhere, and come across another party of Loners, Duty, Freedom or Ward, and you can join them in whatever direction they go in.

It might be because I went there very early on. There's a simple "puzzle" to get inside the bunker.
I noticed that some areas are utterly abandoned if you go there before a quest leads you there.
Probably some weird A-Life shenanigans that the devs are trying to work out. It's better than it was, but it is still rough.

I still haven't done the main mission entering Garbage, However I've been to the Slag Heap, Cement factory and Rostok. Just doing lots of side missions.
Same, i just finished ad astra per aspera (psi beacon in Swamps) but have been to basically everything south of the red forest. Duga is my next stop after doing some artifact hunting in Zaton
Rostok is awesome. What used to be Wild Territory is fun to explore and see how they changed stuff. So far, my favorite places are Wild Island and Zaton.

Visiting classic locations and seeing how they've changed is an experience.
Zaton has always had a beauty about it. Just something about sunrises and sunsets in that hilly swamp of a region is cozy.
I've been to Quiet's Camp (Noontide) as instead of leaving the Lesser Zone for Garbage, I went to the Cordon, explored the Noontide Trader's base and then went to Garbage.
I've kind of branched out all over the place. There are a few regions I haven't been to yet. The Chemical Plant and the southwest areas I've not touched.
Red Forest is also pretty cool. It's drastically different.
I don't have an Exoskeleton yet as I am wearing the Wolfhound armor.
Can Red Forest be entered before a certain point in the main story? I just assumed the radiation was scripted to kill you if you weren't far enough into the main quest
I entered the Red Forest last night with armor that had no Psi protection. The radiation didn't kill me but I got phantom Stalkers that were attacking me. I had to leave.
Yeah, you can wander up there after you're able to leave the Lesser Zone. It's not as ptsd inducing as it is in the other games. It's oddly tranquil.
I assume Pripyat is locked though, definitely gonna check out the forest

Yeah, Pripyat and a few other places on the map are censored. You can try to get into Pripyat, but I don't think that's going to work out very well.
Noontide sold me an Ecologist suit with Psi protection but it's terrible for combat. that's why I'm wearing the Wolfhound armor I got in Rostok.
I know there are helmets that provide a great deal of psy protection. I've been meaning to test whether or not its better to use those helmets with regular suits, rather than full-body suits that have the helmet included.
I've been using the Wolfhound as well for a while. I've stockpiled a bunch of money to upgrade a helmet, a suit, and some weapons once I progress further in the story.
I was wearing an upgraded Monolith Zircon suit (no psi protection) with the Duty Sphere helmet (psi protection) but I jumped to the Wolfhound since it had 2 shielded artifact slots and better combat protection. Downside is no Psi protection.
I should just carry the Ecologist suit to switch to when I need Psi protection. It has 5 artifact slots but only one is shielded.

You think some of the armor should get re-balanced? Like buffing some of the exo-skeletons so you have more of a reason to use them over Diamond.

I decided to start a fresh game and only side with the ward.
It's just sad there are so many low-level and mid-level armors that people never see because they rush through the game straight to the Exos.
For that, they just have to patch the game to where you can't jump the fence to pripyat or jump on top of the spark bunker.
If that happened the only exo you could get is the one at the cooling towers which is the worst one.
I guess they are easy to get for the type of person that is more interested in the destination, than the journey getting there. In other words people that only care about the ending.
