I have put in 400 hours, as I just like wondering around zone, but a huge chunk of it, is replaying the same bit over and over and over again to try and beat the bugs.

• The AI is awful in combat
• A-Life is non-existent. It's just a spawning simulator that make zero sense at all.
• Food mechanics are insane. Most of the food should be rotten, with fresh food mainly in camps and very rare finds elsewhere
• Ballistic models are mess.
• You can't walk over longs.
• Enemy x-ray vision aim-bots.
• The most awful, broken stealth mechanics.
• You stand up when you look in your bag.
• Anomalies are pathetic
• Using a knife is the equivalent of running a marathon.
• Every NPC carries 700K
• No dynamic economy
• No dynamic Techs the specialise things, which should better tied to faction ranking. If they like you get Advanced upgrades, if they hate, you get told to do one.
• No real faction mechanics.
• NPC's are brainless zombies, with processing power of a cabbage... The walk through anomalies and kill themselves... and literally do almost nothing, and not much interaction with.
• The most basic of basic side missions, that you can only get one ever few days...
• Not to mention all the bugs still in the game etc etc...

The game is not good in any capacity, it's playable, but good? When everything is so basic and poorly implemented?

Maybe in about 4 years when we are out of beta testing.

A-Life is effectively non-existent for one thing, and that's a feature that is intrinsic to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. experience. We're also missing a myriad of features, gameplay elements, etc. from the original trilogy. Additionally, the game is riddled with bugs and is poorly optimized/unstable even on top-of-the-line hardware.

As I said before, it is effectively a downgrade from the original trilogy in everything except visual fidelity.

My personal theory is that GSC was at risk of going under so they had to release S2 as it is for financial/company survival.

Yeah, he'll call you up after a certain main mission, fairly late in the game (but still pre-pripyat) and has a side mission for you. If you do that mission in a certain way (the way he specifically wants you to do it) he'll call you back later again for an additional reward - but that starts another side mission. Then you get the gauss.

Like make it a good 20 mins or so in RL, before spawning again at POI... Not the 1 minute, forcing to run like a nutter to search the area.

Or spawning NPC's squads outside, 2 secs after an emission... Every single one of those NPC's should be dead... So make it 5-10 mins before it spawns squads etc, give time for NPC's look like they have just left shelter themselves and have just getting on their way.

With FSR3.1 frame gen I get around 100 most of the time just running around in nature, around 50-60 in places like Rostok, and it does dip down in the 40's if things get really hectic. Half of that roughly without FSR.

i5-9500 CPU is definitely my bottleneck though (tfw 5 year old PC)
My RTX3060 isn't exactly state of the art either, but still has 12gb VRAM, so I don't think it's the thing holding me back.
