dynamic factions, that you can join (consequences thereof)
Mutant parts to be collected and sold.
Stores specialize in different stock.
Better food economics, most food in zone is rotten, bars and safe zones sell fresh food, from impororts.
Longer days.
More RNG of anomalies when emissions occur.
More sensible ballistics
Sensible wear and tear levels.
Things to buy in shops to help reduce wear and tear when travelling about... Slowing it down further.

I have not kept on with the updates and such since release.

On release the game had…. Complications, No A Life, and many described the zone as dull and blend.

Now in Feb 2025 is it worth the price tag? Should I buy it ?

It just seems to me, the later shops just sell more stuff than the early shops...

It doesn't feel like they specialise in stuff... Or the techs do... I mean one tech might be able to do advanced mods on Dnipro, but only basic stuff to like AR416, becasue he hasn't had much experience with them.

Some of these things I don't view as issues at all, like jumping.

My own list of things that needs improvements, in order of importance:
-Fixing faulty event triggers.
Stuff like missions not properly registering as completed, NPC's and cutscenes not appearing when they should, scripted enemies (not A-life!) not spawning in or spawning in too many (like Rogga getting too many Pseudogiants at Duga).
It's the number one issue that makes the game impossible to progress for some, like Scar not appearing at the Sawmill.

-Fixing artifacts clipping through terrain.
Artifacts will sometimes clip through the ground or into terrain, making them impossible to get. Because they're still there, new ones won't spawn, permanently "breaking" and anomaly field.

-Various performance improvements.
The game doesn't run as badly as some make it out. If I can play it fine on my 5 year old PC, you obviously don't need a supercomputer. But it can always be better.

-More A-life improvements.
For all intents and purposes I think A-life currently in game is decent, and it provides the expected ammount of encounters in between missions and stuff, but it can also be improved in some ways, like A-life NPC's not all suddenly wearing Exo Suits after a certain point in the main quest line.

-Longer NPC draw distance.
Sniper rifles etc. would have more of a purpose if we could engage at ranges longer than 100m.

For me, not being able to get over things that any one, who is able bodied should be able too, sticks of development laziness, because the they couldn't put the effort in the be clever and original about it.

I know they released the game early for various reason... They sold 3+ million copies and now have the time to go back and address it.

No device controlled Monolith, it was C-con, when they were in the Pod's. Strelok killed them at the end SoC... After wich the zone got more wild and crazy, as C-con wasn't fighting back. They may have had equipment to facilitate that, but they died... If they didn;t die, then Monolith would have remained all this time a Noontide would never have existed...

What SIRCAA turned on was the Wish Granter, they could have taken what ever they wanted from the sarcophagus, but they turned on the wish granter. And the wish granter never controlled Monolith. C-con did, and C-con got destroyed.

If C-con remained, then Noontide would never have existend, it would still monolith

If C-con died, then Noontide would have been able to exists, but monolith wouldn't have been able to come back until someone got in teh Pod (Like Strelok).

It's just one giant stinking mess story, none of which made sense....

You're right about C-Con controlling monolith. Though, no one controls the monolith directly in S2. Faust tampered with X11 experiment, sent the signal that rebooted the brainwashing aka the program that was already implanted in monolithians. It's just their pre-existing duties that kicked back in. Once Strelok entered the pod, direct control was resumed.

Some times it feels like I'm playing a different game to a lot of you other people. One of my favorite things about S2 is precisely the huge amount of content, and it feels like there's more of it in general, including sidequests, than the OG trilogy combined. A lot of stuff I just bump into at random when exploring.

The pattern seems to be that the harder a loot bag is to get to, the better the loot inside it is.
If it requires hardcore parkour or some Resident Evil-like puzzle to unlock, it's usually good.

Yeah with a bigger map things will be more spread out, in the OG games things were more clustered together. I don't see that as a negative though, feels more rewarding and natural when you come across stuff, IMO.

I agree with this though, but on the other hand it ensures that people who aren't total loot goblins and well stacked with everything will always have needed consumables close by, if they just look around a bit.
For those of us who loot a lot, it does end up with medkits food and bandages feeling worthless. Got hundreds of everything already in my stash, and 1.3 million koupons.

i cant play since December (unless i want to skip Rostok area all together) dont play now, also there is a big battle with a boss where i was using scopped weapon post 1.1.4 patch and my frames dropped to 5 for few seconds every time i used to scope... issue reported and support are looking into it they took my saves.
