I think the PKM ammo choice is deliberate. If it was 7.62x54r it would share ammo with the SVD/SVU, and that would result in SVD ammo being too commonly found (usually in batches of several hundred in some stashes) or PKM ammo being too rare.

Rostok has a major memory leak issue, probably the most game breaking bug currently besides the bug where your Stash can crash the game if you put too many items in it and sell them.

For Rostok I found that turning off DLSS Frame Generation™ helps with the crashes a lot. I have only crashed once there since then, now I just turn off frame gen when going there

Rostok has been surprisingly good for me, a little stutter when I first went there, but it's gotten better. Medium graphics (with some bumped up to high). 3060 on an otherwise 5 year old pc. I don't use frame gen though, not there or anywhere else.

Rostok is definitely the worst location in terms of performance. I run on max settings, with frame gen it's 120+ fps stable everywhere except cutscenes, but in Rostok even with frame gen I only get 80-90.

I really hope they fix the inventory crash tho, once you have too many items in your inventory and it starts glitching out with icons overlapping and sorting being all weird you must keep 1 item of each or the game will start crashing when looking at your stash

Ward playthrough is probably the quickest in terms of gameplay cause some of the missions get shortcuts due to being affiliated with Ward

The only shortcut I know of is the one in Pripyat where you're searching for the co-ordinates of the foundation. You find the coordinates a bit north or northeast of Pripyat base near a crashed helicopter

But definitely worth hoarding some specific red guns with high base values for when you get there. I use modular hard mode on medium settings. One of my favorite things about the balance is that it makes the combat generally harder, but more fair. Spongy enemies are removed, mutant health is reduced but they’re more aggressive to compensate.

Repair costs are drastically reduced, but upgrade costs are increased- which means things become much more expensive to repair if you’ve upgraded them. Items sell for less, but artifacts sell for much more, encouraging artifacts hunting if you need koupons

FG works better the higher the frame rate you start with... But at that point, what's the point in it? Why turn it on when your FPS is already enough? and if you need it, cos your FPS so low, then turning it won't help due to input latency...~

I got mine a deal, for motherboard and CPU, I think the bundle was £100 cheaper. For ASROCK PG Lightening B650 and Ryzen 7900... My Ryzen 7900 with PBO, is faster than a 7900x 😄
