The one we were just talking about, Dvupalov and the blueprint in the "In Search Of Past Glory" mission

I did this later on after the conversation, I went and did a side quest and slept at a far away base. The issue is that Dvupalov, the quest guy for getting ||the suppressor blueprint||, becomes unable to be interacted with when it comes time to turn in the quest item.
The issue I'm having now is that I must have killed the snork with the collar on but not collected the collar and now I can't find the collar to do the science quest.
Essentially softlocking the main story. Fixes I've seen are charging and jumping in, loading a previous save, going off and doing other stuff/traveling, etc. Tried them all and it hasn't worked

The Ninth will give you a blueprint if you sided with him. If you kill him, you won't get it.

Fang was killed by either Leshiy or Nimble. The theory was made by Tejas and Anomalous Dugout made a video about it.

Is that near the drain entrance, with the bed in it that you use to meet up in? During the storming Duga missions?
The one at the watchtower just outside of the western checkpoint, I would assume the tunnel with the bed in it you go to with Spork for the first attempt on thier quest path is the same though I've not tried it, that being said, the door might just be closed on that one so maybe not
The drain is open and you can go into the first room, but the door to second room is locked.

You can still get in through the south entrance and loads of friendly stalkers about, I haven't found a way in to where the two Psuedogiants are though
Did you do the scanner at the Chemical Plant? It confuses some people because you can only open it at night, otherwise it looks like you already used it during the day.

How come? Most of them are'nt gonna break stuff as UE5 is pretty robust when it comes to mods working between versions. If the files they touch arent directly modified within a patch, they will work across versions

It's a constantly moving target, with quite a large area to hit, so a spread weapon will work best
What shotgun do you use? If you're encountering a poltergeist I assume you're like what, 25%, 30%+ into the game? If you haven't already, do yourself a favour and grab the Saiga 12 shotgun 😉 it'll help you massively

No probs, if you're sticking to the cracker, try to close the distance to the poltergeist and hip fire. Watch out for his attack where he phases through you and causes damage
meanwhile me running around with either a Saiga or the Texan after reaching Pripyat early
it cant kill me anyway and its just a waste of ammo, its guarding somekind of loot and it kinda annoyed me

They're not as tough as they seem, they're just tough to hit. Shotguns are most effective, but short controlled bursts from your AK will do the job too. Early game, expect to dump at least 2 mags in em

Yup you have to complete the main quest where Faust leaves the island. After that Quiet contacts you, after which he gives you the side quest

Ah, that one. Access to the loot is by jumping down from the cliff on the Rostok-side of the road (access through rostok region). It's easier to kill the poltergeist from there too. A good shotgun does the trick, 3 shots from a Cr*cker or better, with slugs if you can't get into its face with buckshot.

No, but it is nuts how little ammo they give you when you search them
Normal enemies have low ammo. But zombies have whole stacks 
not all the time, not even most of the time. they do carry more ammo then normal however.

I would go over to malakite and get one from the electrofield outside the base... I have got most of mine from there, seems to be a luck spot. Also some good armour near buy and weapons

well i just checked an electro field but the artifact bugged for me and wouldnt appear so i closed out the game
try the electro field near reloading point, east of the Slag Heap... Good gun around there too. you can also go on towards the Cement Factory and meet up with Duty.

Well, your better off targetting the electrofield... got more chance to get one.
I would save before evrery anomaly field, not for the purposes of savescumming (rerolling which artifact you get), but some times the artifact will glitch through the ground and you won't be able to get it.

You are not going to get early in the game... IIRC, artifacts get better the further into the game you get... Although , if you get to an area later in teh game, you get a chance to get one.
That is why I bravely ran away to Malacite and searched their, luckily getting one.

I got my Thunderberry at the reloading point, just south of cement factory. Involuntary savescumming; first artifact glitched through ground, reloaded and second was a Thunderberry. Also picked up Liquid Rock from the acid field just west of cement factory, and compass from the grav anomaly just north of slag heap. This was all pre-SIRCAA too

Hilka has 100m range but bear only has 50m, Veles has 60 but you need to wait till a certain point in story to get it

Before Veles I just use Hilka for long range and swap to Bear once I'm within 40 meters like I imagine most stalkers do
I just use the Bear and get closer. Didn't even get the Hilka until after I had the Bear, so I just ran with the Echo until Wild Island.

Most reliable respawns i had with emissions, but also travelling long distances sometimes seemed to reset them.. hard to say if it's a timer, but emission seem to reset them reliably

Yeah no kidding. Finally get the Steak artifact for boozer, then game crashes when I run back to slag heap, and I didn't save. Only time I've save scummed artifacts was trying to get that one exact artifact again.
2x compass + 2x hypercube + the weird ball for combat was my go to setup, that prevented me from getting one shot by some gauss campers. altho I did have enemy damage turned to 1.2x

If you have an artifact that you have detected that glitched under ground, it won't respawn or despawn. It will be there permanently, blocking that anomaly field from spawning another one forever. The Electric Field south of Slag Heap is like that for me. So now I save before looking for artifacts, no matter if I intend to savescum or not.
I got all the special artifacts too, but I also discovered that the weird bolt bricked my save at the same time

They really are, I was on a main quest that I probably won't name, went into a room without registering all the fallen weapons without bodies on the ground, looked at a lock I could shoot, then turned around to see a Grom floating in the air that immediately magdumped me to death.

that's the weird part, I can't tell the difference, sometimes the NPC's let you sneak up right behind them with the flashlight pointing at their bum but the same enemy might sense you with the lamp off from 5m away after a reload, and vice versa
Idk about the flashlights, but detection is absolutely broken atm
it was fun for a while, but since there's no "progression" in that department it felt stale really fast, if the lamps range was dependent on the suit/headgear i'd be fine with it, but as is it was just painful, especially since I cranked up the enemy damage

I was running around at malachite, on some pipes, a bandit squad with shotguns spawned about 200m behind me... last time I bled so much was in stalker clear sky. they did absolutely 0 damage but each shot they fired, was a hit, and instant bleeding.

I felt that way after early game but the more I got stuck into bigger/complex + darker "dungeons" I appreciated the challenge of the flashlight. That said, NGVs would be appreciated eventually

Well this is weird. So Sidorovich wants me to get a broken rock for him, and he'll give me 10k. But if I just sell him the broken rock, he'll give me 13502 for it. And yes, I'm playing on easy. Because I wanted my first run of the game to be easy easy.

Suppression effect would be interesting. Like your screen goes darker around the edges, and your gun shakes more when trying to aim under fire

this is hard to balance both ways, in singleplayer games usually this turns out to be only annoying because the enemies are constantly shooting at you
And proper bullet crack audio FX and sound travel speed, so you hear the gunshot later depending on the distance
Yeah, like suppressive fire from a PKM or from the SVD at a distance. Or just in urban combat, to give yourself enough time to toss a nade in the enemies direction while their heads are down
when SDK drops I presume jsawyer will drop a sick sound overhaul to fix everything

When mods come to console, I'm definitely tweaking those values. Less nades, and maybe tier based accuracy system? Some low bandits and leather jacket stalkers wouldn't have much training, therefore they'd have shitter aim. Faction like Freedom would have better aim (they're stoned anyway lol), Ward and Duty would be above them, with Monolith being most dangerous

Without freeplay option the endings wouldnt really affect anything in the world except what youre getting in the cutscene, but those are entirely personal to Skif, kind of understand it from a budget standpoint too why they didnt do it, would be pretty tall order making a faction turn again and all the consequences of it and all, for a thing that only happens at the end of the game

I hate it because it's essentially adopting some of the bad (imo) elements of "hardcore" mods like Misery and Anomaly/GAMMA; in an effort to stop the player from steamrolling everything too easily (which is something I support), they made Veteran objectively unfair, (especially when it comes to the economy) and turned player progression into a tedious slog.
Master difficulty didn't nerf your damage or even touch the economy, it just put you on a more even playing field with the rest of the game world.
I'd prefer if Veteran's settings were adjusted a bit and then relegated to a hardcore mode of sorts, something in the style of how New Vegas did it where survival elements are tuned up, etc. (I do think the game's base survival elements need adjusting though; I'd rather not have them feel pointless like they do now.)
you can usually turn them in for someone or the pda contains information about a puzzle nearby or something, most often related to side quests

I like the dingy flashlight! headlamps arent these beacons irl theyre used to light up enough to see where you walk and check maps and such, for a proper torch we should have weapon attachements which i think somone mentioned there is a file reference to a weapon attachement flashlight in the game so maybe its coming?

UE5 was also the reason the game was made in the first place, systems like Nanite and Lumen take so much workload off from the technical artists its ridiculous (i use it at work too)
I wish they'd stuck with their own engine. Like with Metro: Exodus using 4A engine - the modified x-ray.
The game wouldve been in a more unfinished state otherwise and never launched probably, and even when the systems are so "easy" it still take skill to implement Lumen well especially, since i can see some issues on lower end settings like flickering
Not saying it didn't have an affect on the game's development because it absolutely did, but not all of the development happened during wartime.
There were also other difficulties GSC faced during the game's development e.g. server room fire, flood damage, the pandemic, etc.

i don't want to invalidate your opinion but the the shortcuts are definetly hurting the quality of the products really bad, maybe it's a huge time saver but it really shows in the end result, most UE5 games look about the same as the games released in the past 5 years but don't run well at all

Naw they got their heart in the project, its a small team in comparison to many but they were able to still achieve a masterclass of narrative and atmosphere here very true to the originals, so they seem to care a lot of both their product and their audience

So at some point in the story I noticed 100% of NPC's in exo-suits, 1 this make me shoot alot more 3/4 headshots 556 or 545, 2 it takes the immersion out of the game..

yep, that's the endgame for you, only non exo characters are the rookie village dudes who are there always, and bandits. everybody else has an exo, even if they have a double barrel shotgun
the door you go into to go in the tunnel is locked and theres no key to open it, because the prompt is greyed out

Monolith Camo btw the coolest camo ever, the colors are so cool and fit the theme well, it only suits the Pripyat city, which is theyr main point of defence, nothing else matters and it is reflected in their camo design too, its really clever

Yea there is a role selection channel where you can pick one, but my monolith patch turned into the experienced stalker patch as i leveled up i want the mono patch back

Exoskeletons should only be more frequent for:
* Ward
* IPSF
* Monolith
* Freedom
* Duty
These are the largest factions with the greatest amount of resources and are the only ones who should realistically be able to field exos in decent to large numbers, especially for troops in high-danger areas like Pripyat, CNPP, Generators, etc.
As for Spark, I don't know how large they are as a faction but considering they work closely with the scientists they probably have access to decent funding and can afford to field exoskeletons in decent-ish numbers.
For Loners, Mercs, and Bandits it would need to be a case-by-case basis since they aren't centralized factions like the others. Basically you should only see exos being worn by squad leaders, long-lived, battle-hardened veterans and what have you.

I think you should be able to put exoskeleton on any compatible suit. But with no power source, like some mods do, cause power source doesn't make sense in the zone. Everything runs on artifacts.
The duty armor looks cool too so its nice to see it it now in its all glorious detail
But exoskeletons were never a Monolith-exclusive thing; they weren't being made only by them.
Love they kept all the classic suit designs and just made them look soooooo good

I've seen IRL ballistic arm protection and it doesn't look like that. What you see in S2 looks like it was ripped off of a suit of medieval plate armor.

There are quite many materials you can make a bullet proof plate out of, one being steel one being ceramic, or soft place from kevlar and stuff but yall already know this, i think the arm plates look fine

Huh, sounds like a bug, i had the badge too on my first playthru and they called me out on it but didnt go hostile , i sided mostly with Spark after the Slag Heap and i showed Korshunov the monolith PDA and Spark still didnt hate me, they had nasty things to say but they didnt hunt me down or shoot on sight

It has the best twist, yep. Also it was my first ending and it left me shocked.
Ward ending has a very insidious tone to it, which is definitely intentional.
Spark/Scar ending is just depressing.
it was after some mission, spark sent a hitsquad after me for the badge, the rest of the faction remained neutral but I still lost my faith in them, or maybe it was sent by spark rather individual decision, but anyway
Spark ending was nice too, i got all i was expecting from it and a lot more
The late game dialogues and scenes with Scar are amaaaaaazing
And Dalin also turned around for me, i like him now, he found his true purpose again after i crushed his ego, and this is a nice ending for him too

The Skif/Doctor/The Zone ending is the most interesting and has pretty serious implications for the franchise as a whole.

Scar ending reminds me of that part in Soma, where people are connected to WAU and are seeing dreams where the they live "perfect" lives. But in reality they are just being kept alive and slowly rotting.

Strelok, closed it off, so the zone is left alone... But the writers didn't think very clearly about the long term viability this choice... Because Strelok, so sticking with this one.

I'd have loved to see them make more games like soma. Amnesia Rebirth was a pile of dud and Bunker was OK but not great
I think all the sides and factions do a great job of giving you enough compelling reasons to join whichever side, even the Ward for how great the commander is and how he clearly cares, and how it is a force you would want to be a part of in real life zone if you were there, because duh
I'd like to believe he got out ok in ward ending. Unfortunately he's their agent now. So who knows what they'll program him to do.

I mean, there being more than one Zone shouldn't be surprising since the Noosphere covers the entire planet.
Additionally that whole ending pretty much confirms that the Zone is sentient to a degree, I mean the whole point is that Skif is allowing the Zone to make its' own choice about it's future.

The single most reason that had me defy Scar first time around is the generic "can't you see I'm busy?!" lines when talking to him
Both Duty and Freedom need leadership changes.
Voronin is ineffectual and causing the faction to stagnate, while Mykluha has caused Freedom to fall fully into hedonism and degeneracy.
yeah It wouldn't, but I still don't think the ending meant that new zones appeared, the whole scene was a bit too flashback style so maybe some anomalies spawned around the world temporarily but mostly it seems that you are now in control of the zone, you are the monolith or something like that

Freeplay would be sweet as so many endgame gear come in too late to be of any use like the Saiga drum mag, when most enemies you fight are too far for a Saiga there, but depends also on the ending, imo it should be its own game mode, because a Sparker ending for example, doesnt make any sense to continue freeplay narrative wise
He didn't seem that effective in SoC either tbh. I think at that time both Duty and Freedom were pretty much at a stalemate. I mean wasn't that Duty squad in the Army Warehouses there because they were disillusioned with his leadership and felt like he wasn't doing enough?

Replace Mykluha was Loki, the CO of Freedom in Yaniv during CoP. Dude ran a tight ship and made Freedom respectable.

They still hand contacts in the military though, it's where they got the majority of supplies. They were even able to get helicopters this way.
I like the concept of NG+ but ive never completed one, they feel too grindy and similar once you allready have the best gear, youd have to somehow be able to still upgrade
Yeah there's a bug that prevents emissions from happening or even permanent weather conditions. Hopefully it will be fixed soon

@sweet root That is where new missions, area's, faction progression comes in... Use emission to way more RNG to the world, making it feel more alive.
I recommend a parkour tour thru Malachite facility, its very rewarding
many NG+ experiences do feel grindy, in too many cases the early enemies are just replaced with stronger versions or given double health to make it a bit more challenging but the spongines gets old really fast

I'm slowly clearing out Burnt Forest (god I wish there was a base here), then I'll head over to Malachite and clear out everything, then loot the Duga, and then head up North and clear everything out below Pripyat.

Dark Souls 1 had a nice take on NG+ not really making the normal enemies too brutal but adding in extra super evil dudes mixed in that really beats your butt unless you got gud
well unless they overhaul everything, i'm going to give my self the veles, you get it way too late in the game to be of any use, and the X7 suit just seems like something that NG+ would spawn you with
Supplies is one thing but if there's nothing to pay your soldiers, you can't really motivate them other than to pull on their heart strings and since their goal is to destroy the zone which seems to be the exact thing all other factions want to avoid at all costs maybe one of the reasons why they're so underfunded

For the best detector in the game it makes sense to have it in middle game, but i still use mostly Hilka for its better range and switch to veles when near
I don't think ng+ works in stalker. If you want freeplay, don't do main quest. If you want other endings, make a save before major choices. Stalker is all about progression. I'd rather start a fresh playthrough than spawn in prologue with all my maxed gear.
Over 1000 hours across the entire Dark Souls trilogy and don't know what you're talking about. Dark Souls 1 NG+ was very basic; enemy health and damage increased and that was it. (I think the Three Kings got more spawns too.)

At least you're able to play. The game was crashing whenever I booted the game and loaded a save some time back
side quest reward for returning the collars. By that point I had already explored the entire map and had every artifact I would possibly want, i used the veles like twice after that, felt cheated.
I didnt play it long and it was like 10 years ago or something, so might remember it wrong, think it was my first NG+ i attempted too

There was the Gravelord Covenent where people could "infect" your world and cause it to have suped up red phantom enemies. If you were playing online that might be what happened, but it could happen in any NG cycle.
When i got it had like more than half the world to explore still, i focused a lot on the story as i like to do it in first playthrus and leave a lot to explore on further playthrus, i didnt even enter Cooling Towers on my first
So now im still very excited about the next playthru as there are a looot of mysteries still, not just the story twists

I think i poked my head around the edge of it and found that Groza on a corpse, funny how an almost 4 mil smaller round deals more damage and penetration than a 9x39
In Prepare to die edition, there was a bug that prevented Gravelording from working in ng 🙂 they fixed it in the remaster
Sure its a faster round but a 9x39 packs so much more kinetic energy behind it it slaps haaard

Pretty sure the Loner ("Default") exo is technically the lowest tier one, but the Cuirass can never get the sprint upgrade for...reasons.
In all of my playtime I actually managed to encounter one of those Vagrant enemies. That was so freaking cool.
