You can do fine with or without stache
Just never cut the stache and left a beard
Aye its either full thing, stache, or nothing, beard alone isnt doing it
Just embrace the Korushnov look, never have to look back
He looked so cool too, ill definitely feel great joining his forces next time
No hair to worry about, no hairfall too
You can even have the same cool scars if you don't want a beard to trim
I wonder if he could get a custom fit, memory foam helmet? No hair advantage I guess
Wonder why Scar wears a hoodie throughout the game. Do we ever see him take it off?
Thats to make it obvious he has more to hide than would appear, concious about it or not
I can't wait to put a bullet in him
Pretty sure the actor who plays him is bald, so I think Scar is too. He also kind of looks like me, and I'm also bald. I'm claiming Scar for team bald.
He'll give you a piece of bread
Leave Scar alone you monster
Yeah, the loot on enemies is abysmal. 3 bullets across 2 broken guns, piece of bread and if you're lucky, a sausage
He is doing everything right
And all the grenades you could ever need
Character design is always calculated, just about everything in a character has went thru many iterations and design choices and meetups, to tie down the character to the story and a backstory, where he is from and what he is about, all should come clear just by looking at them, and you can clearly see Scar has a lot to hide, clearly crazy and doesnt take care of himself, hence the yellowed teeth and gaunt cheeks, hes utterly devoted in only one thing, and everything else is secondary, this comes true thru the story. this is what i got from first look at the character
Yes indeed
Lost the count of how many I got
No, you'll literally will loot something that looks like bread from his body
I wonder if that was a strelok with hair on the roof in trailers
So yeah the characters are all fantastic, i could never write better ones myself
Yeah, it seems like strelok had a lot more hair in 2021 gameplay trailer
The Doctor also has more darker hair and doesnt look as old, im kinda mixed about this, he looks more regular now, which i like, it implies even a regular person could be dealing in something so utterly dangerous as the C-con
Made him more approachable in a way, just a dude in a hut but way more to him
Who Scar?
I wish there was a mod that would let you spawn a weapon all I find are broken guns
Protagonist of Clear Sky
A different character model was used as to not give away too much of his involvement iirc
The fact that swamp doctor turned out to be kaimanov shocked me, I thought he is a good guy
But once I understood that he is the creator of brain scorcher, I felt disgust
The moment I met him I was like "Richter ffs why you lead me here"
UE5 tools mod exists, adds a console to give commands to, i used it to give myself some stuff that didnt spawn where they shouldve, like the SVD silencer in detention center
I'm gonna be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Richter
Agreed
No, you, by killing the Scar, he deserves it
I wish there was a consistent indicator before you pick a gun up showing you the state of it. I see some guns on the ground hage a red symbol on em, wish more had it. Would save me tons of time
They'll probably include this in their QOL changes
Richter mostly seems to just be a reflection of your actions, as a guide in a way, to tell you if you have steered from a path or not, its kinda confusing, but its how i interpreted him, i liked him a lot and the Spark ending really gave him life
Thank you. See @wintry pumice ? This guy gets it
Yeah seriously
He seemed pretty damn happy in the Strelok and Kaymanov ending too
After a skirmish or a bigger battle, seeing two dozen guns and checking each none is too time taking
Yeah, i think hes a narrative tool to just reinforce the player actions, its kinda clever, he does make you accountable for your actions in a lot of scenes and constantly questioning you, its as if hes your morals, but from outside
Kaymanov ending moreso. But the difference wasn't huge between the two as far as Richter goes
I wanna find out how he lost that group he was leading, what happened etc
Or a vendor that actually has more then a double barrel shotgun and a viper I have plenty of coupons but I only has the silenced pistol you get at the start a viper and double barrel
I think red guns should be indicated, but yellow ones no, it is not so easy to say in which state the weapon is without good checking, if gun is super bad you'll notice it without picking up, but with yellow ones and better I think it is valid that you need to pick up weapon first to check it's state
During Spark ending even Skif sounds unsure of himself (at Orbita) whereas Strelok and Kaymanov he seems content. Kaymanov especially
ADD THE VEPR SHOTGUN
Still. It’s nice to to have information for final authority decisions
So I have this problem. I'm 40 years old and modded the shit out of soccer to make it as real as possible. But now when I start gaming like 10 hours fly by and by the time I look at the watch it's already 4:00 in the morning and I work at 6 :00 and I'm 40 lol
In fact everybody seemed happy with the Kaymanov ending. Not counting Scar, Korushonov and Strelok obviously
Valid
Sounds like good times, im 35
I'm 23 and the time flies while gaming
In my experience any time wasted enjoying is not time wasted at all
You're never too old to sweat a good ole gaming sesh
Y’all don’t put on some deodorant?
For me when the kids and Mrs are asleep and I've got that time it's a release and an escape. No more responsibility, just a blissful escape in whatever world I choose
naw i aint even showering (i do is a joke, i love showers)
Pfft. Throw yourself in the nearest body of water like a real (cave)man
Exactly why my sleep schedule is so messed up
Lynx Africa?
Reason: Bad word usage
But sometimes these seshes grow a bit too long...for such an adult, like last weekend most i did was sit down and play this
?
Id do it again
Yeah I go to about 2/3am because these are all asleep by 10/11 week nights. The sleep deprivation is worth it though
Why does time fly by in stalker so fast? And I started drinking energy drinks again. They work like a thousand times better when you're old lol
Did you guys know you can get into the dead valley with a vaulting mod? And there's actually a bunch of stuff there.... some sort of above-ground path to X7, and everything.
My wife divorced me with two kids because of this game. It's all your fault guys
Same. Been grinding stalker and shooting drills irl. I have no free time and I’m ok with it
There's a pathway to just.... walk into the generators. And its acctually very atmospheric and well put-together. I had no idea the area wasn't supposed to be inaccessible until I beat the game and started to look up spoilers
Idk how spreading the zone everywhere is a good thing, we'll have thousands death before everyone knows where these zones are
Kaimanov told that current zone is like this as we only showed it violence, but what makes him think that spreading the zone won't lead to showing only more violence to the zone?
I don't regret it one bit 😂
I used to hate energy drinks but after doing client work for Red Bull games and getting their sponsored free energy drinks i grew into a bit of an addict loool
Im a black coffee enjoyer
Coffee man. It’s saved my tail waaaay too many times flying long haul night flights. And it’s not speedy
I don't think it's a good direction personally, but everybody else is content in allowing the zone to be free and allowing mankind to shape its own form of path and survival through the/those zones. After analysing the ending a second time I did find some bliss in the previously foreshadowed (throughout the entire game) fate that this particular ending brought
I was and am for Strelok above all, but the Kaymanov ending makes sense, but would undeniably not have the desired effect
I prefer coffee, but an energy drink is easier...
Especially when your workplace has it stocked 24/7
Eh. That stuff isn’t kind whatsoever to your body. Coffee isn’t great but it’s better.
I use energy powder

I dont drink a lot of it, maybe few cans a week, not everyday, but i should slow down with it still
?
Anabolic steroids or go home
Folks in Miami in the 1980s did the same thing
Yeah, I'm with strelok here too, but I felt like strelok ending showed the least of consequences of this ending, it shows you what happens in next 2 hours and that's all
Also, with kaimanov, he turns to faust in the end so it seems faust might tricked you, or faust means that you embraced your role as minolith messenger, I'm not sure with this faust moment
Unfortunately, that has gotten too expensive recently

Isnt the Strelok goal for everyone just to leave the zone alone? not much more revelations there
Think he said as much
I don't think Faust was ever Kaymanov, but this is a vision that Skif had and perhaps may be showing us that Faust's goal was not evil after all, and was actually quite alike Kaymanov's own visions and goals, however Faust went about it all thr wrong way
Yes, he wants to contain the zone, but I thought it won't be like that
At least I hoped he'd release monolith guys as Strelok understands that you simply can not brainwash people
Scar is innocent, it's Marshall who you should be blaming
His goal is dumb as all can be, all it takes is for him to grow old and time will then defeat it all
I don't think we're supposed to take it literally in the sense of Kaymanov =/ Faust. It's more than that
Strelok is fighting against such forces of human nature theyre going to eventually win, unless you give him the edge
Bring back Strider
But what happens then? the zone will still be there, will be in future, whats to stop future forces of doing just what he is trying to stop?
All of the dialogue and extra documents later game and even very early on in the game indicate the game was foreshadowing Kaymanov's ending throughout though. We may not like it but no ending was meant to be perfect. It's the message that hits the hardest though and is why it will probably be canon
C-con kept zone close for quite a lot of time, and only strelok with help of kaimanov could figure out how to sneak past by
So, as there is none left alive to help to stop strelok, I think he has quite a good chance to isolate the zone
Its a futile fight against eventuality, kinda reflects how us humans have to constantly fight a futile fight against the forces of entropy, to keep order, falter a second and it will crumble down, But its what makes us human
Skif is Strelok's biggest threat which is interesting in itself
It can be easily put forward that no good endings is good writing, and even somewhat realistic writing. Seldom ever are the results of conflict good for all parties involved
C consciousness will stop them
I don't think the writing was bad tbh. I think they did a good job keeping consistent and foreshadowing throughout the entire game. There is consistency if you look deep enough
Bro can't even survive an emission
It' barky they think tha6 are lemons
And this is also very much down to interpretation, i took the Spark ending as the best ending i couldve taken in that situation, even if there was a possibility it was all a lie, its still a very nice lie, I also lied to Strider, no way i was going to make him suffer for eternity with the guilt of losing his brothers
I told Strider the truth at first during my Strelok ending, the truth during Spark. N/A for Kaymanov as my save was reverted to cabin
But the cutscene with Strider in Noosphere really make me feel like he knew I was lying... man what a powerful scene... oscar worthy'
It might be a nice lie to those experiencing it, but its still a lie, and arguably even brainwashing, which sort of fits the whole theme of Spork
Strelok closed the zone with big ass deadly anomaly on the zone borders, so I think it doesn't matter if he lives or dies, zone is sealed
Yeah, but to the extent all kinds of brainwashing, between factions, noosphere, agents, c-con, you just really have to pick your poison, or just leave
Or get in the tube 😄
i added u lets be kids again 🙂
Added you back bruv
I told him the truth and it visually and emotionally broke him, this moment with Strider is one of the best in game for me
https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/101 any one try this reshade i want to game to have fear
But the Zone is ever shifting and you cant really ever know, someone might find a way, its what we did after all right?
Awww 🫂
u speak Ukrainian ?
I am from finland, but i know a lot of ukranians, my dad owns a strawberry farm funnily enough, and we employ ukranians every year
all these reshades makes game for me look so unrealistic.
They get a whole year´s salary in like 2-3 months there
feels like someone just dropped tint and put contrast +50%
because of the difference in economics, and buying power i think
UE5 Lumen system doesnt need Reshades at all, youre only gonna break it with them
i like the amd fidelity fx in reshade
Its already very vibrant and great looking game
Problem is, he used monolith to form a guards to stop people coming in and out... Whilst Strelok might live for a long time, everyone else will die... Who guards then. Streloks ending is very short sighted.
A bit like the missing to turn on the air vents again at noontide base after the ISPAJGGHT incendent... Whates the point in making the place nice for the people there... if no one is there?
It's stuipd, it makes no sense.
it is very rare to find a good reshade. 99% of them are crap.
Yeah, i made the point earlier that Strelok´s goals were dumb and shortsighted, just because times change, you cant really keep it up forever without destroying the entire zone, someone will eventually find a way
You can bury the whole thing under concrete and rebar and someone will dig under
And whos to know if there are other ways and other locations to access Noosphere
It will fall about after 40-50 years, maybe less.
Concrete an rebar need constant maintenance... There is an abandonded concrete island in Japan IIRC. Every left it like 50 years ago and the thing has fallen apart
Also the new sarcophagus, mostly because the first one was put together too fast for permanence, but also that it just doesnt last that long
Without constant maintenance
I will have to make it a bucket list goal to visit pripyat just once
I always that that ending where the zone expanded would be the one to really make sense... Ties in with DLC, and just makes the playable area so much bigger.
Uses AI on maps to accurately recreate the forests and fields...
But also add the dimension of having civilians stuck in the zone and the dynamics that would bring keeping them alive... Or kill them, and sell them for meat
Creeps AF, apparetly, Top Gear went there and it was well, interesting
Havent doen that ending but thats what Scar litereally said in Spark ending, that if we dont do the thing the zone will not stop and detroys everything, dont think he was lying, he was doubting himself around the same time too
Because we turned on the big rotating thing to access representative
Who knows, I just found all the endings wanting, so never completed the game as they sucked.
I was fully satisfied myself, even exceeded some expectations, which is always a plus
Only played thru once so dont know the other endings yet, no spoils pls
I was expecting a much more grindy and monotonous assault on monolith like in SoC but it was pretty cool fight scenes instead, lots of crazy twists and turns
And that is fine, different strokes for different folks, but for me, I wanted more, and the option of continuing to play... Like Streloks ending, why is there not an option to keep playing and trying to survive in this no permantnly closed of area
Sooooooo....Duga went to shit. However, since I get attacked whenever I go near it, is that a viable way to farm gear to sell?
Yea the game should let you play afterwards but i can totally see how that would completely conflict with some of the endings, breaking narrative
NG+ is a must
no food supplies, no ammo and weapons getting in, medical supplies... Bloodsukers and all you have is a bow and arrow? Do the safe zones become the places where ammo is made etc, as there is lots of factories and machinery lying around.
What this game needs more than a freeplay is a more random access to loot drops like weapon attachements, like the 20 round drum mag for a Saiga is too late for being any use, by that point i have an iconic SVU and a gauss gun and a Dnipro in 7.62
Whoa easy there. This is stalker not green hell
But those would the consequences of Strelok closing the zone off.
Never played green hell, it looks about as interesting as watching grass grow.
Then what? All the guns immediately disappear? The Zone is a miniature Texas. More guns than people + mutants combined
I like the kind of semi casual approach the Stalker games take to survival, its there but its not an annoyance
Like I said, bases and camps would probably recentre around old factories and race would be on to convert them to make ammo and spare parts...
Sure a Gamma style simulator has its place, but if you frontload a story heavy game with also such heavy systems as in gamma it can take a lot away from the narrative
I don't mind some survival, but too many games take it to the extreme. Want it extreme? Make it a whole new difficulty where you run around butt naked with a stick and a stone. Rust post wipe style. But don't make it default/post game default. Way to push 99% of players away
This time i just wanted the freedom to explore without taking too much care about taking care of hunger meters and such, felt kinda relaxing
As I have always said, as real as possible, within the realms of common sense and gameplay.
It needs to be a game first, but nothing wrong with making it a realistic as possible.
i did that with mods its almoust like dayz now lol
And this is from someone who had spent thousands of hours on Anomaly, EFP and Gamma before this launch, i think theyre all great but theyre not really STALKER
gamma 2 in works ?
Also, like I said. For hardcore realistic freaks, make a new difficulty level. I'm happy the way it is now
S2 was so similar to S1 in all its core mechanics and core loops i love it, why change a formula that works
Its like diving back into Half Life 2 but in a different universe, classic game design
I find the more hardcore it gets, the less realist ic it gets most of the time.... As things are made overly hard fort the sake of being hard.
Yea i understand that aspect in a free form sandbox game like Anomaly/Gamma, since you gotta keep the player interest for as long as possible and the faster you get all the gear the faster it diminishes
Even know, why do I need to eat 85,000 sausages a day for every 10 feet I walk... It's BS... Yeah, I am hungry, when I wake up, but let me buy a big breakfast in the bar etc
But in a story heavy game like S2 it would just make the game way too heavy, with too many mechanics
And i felt great breezing thru a lot of the end game content because I could, didnt need to grind, it leaves a lot of stuff to explore for more playthrus
That is fine, but once you have done the game, then allow players to just roam the zone without the story... I don;t want to have to be force to complete the game and do main quests to open things... I just want to chill and explore
Yeah but it would be dependent on the ending you took, with the Spark ending it would make no sense to freeroam afterwards, its not the same zone for you anymore
I believe a New Game+ with an optional choice to crank up the difficulty each time would solve the realism problem for many, and those who want an ever increasing challenge would get it
It's nuts and its silly and unrealistic
I really don't think NG+ would gel well with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. tbh, but that's just my opinion.
I'd rather have a separate free roam sandbox mode akin to COC/Anomaly/GAMMA.
But it really made the point where you can actually have a working gun, way more worth it
Either or, I'll be happy
More than likely free roam would follow whatever ending GSC decides to make canon.
I would kinda like NG+, but as an option to start a new game with, with more HC mutant spawns, more enemy encampments, and all around more anomalies and nasty things
But only after they fix the mutant tankiness
They can do it regardless of ending... Congratulations STALKER you completed teh game... Would like to start a new game "story" or "free roam"
And wouldnt that be immersion breaking if i ever saw one, would immediately remove any and all investment you had for the ending
"you decided to spend an eternity in noosphere, here, you can still go out and play"
That defeats the point of the Shining Zone entirely, its a place without violence and darkness
Which is why I think free roam should be a separate game mode.
Yo do you guys think that 3 fans are enough for a 7900xtx or will it over heat or something
What?
This, i can get behind, why not have a fully accessible freeroam mode of it, might as well? some like it, some like story heavy games
||The Shining Zone is a lie.||
You sure? 100%? 150%? and even if it is, it is a nice lie, and as far as endings goes in the Zone, its as close to good ending i can think of
@maiden grotto I want to play stalker but I don't want my PC to go boom boom
It's not going to go boom
all amd stuff needs water cooling 20% more goodness
Yes, 1 million percent. Play through to get the Strelok or Skif/The Zone ending and you'll find that out.
Yea been a bit spoiled already, dont want to know more, but this is the lie i believed in fully and what if the nice paradise is a lie, were still in it
I got an all AMD system, I get all the goodness I need... I undervolt to around 1010/1020...
Just...go get the Strelok and/or Skif ending, I think both reveal the truth to you.
Why insist? Maybe I just want this one ending and feel contended?
Are you on about case fans?
It depends on how you have got them...
Yes 2 intake 1 exhaust
Well then watch the cutscenes on YouTube?
Ofc ill play more endings, but you saying theres only so few right ways to end the game, when you can do so many interpretations
What case do you have?
Jesus, you really dont understand do you
Monotech xr
I wish I could find a single cutscene in Ukrainian with english subs lol
No I don't, I'm having a difficult time understanding what point you're trying to make.
Ok lemme break it down for ya, I like this ending, because its immersive, it was the path my Skif took from one point to another making a lot of decisions on the way, he ended up at the ending he did, I dont want any meta stuff spoiling my fun of the game thank you very much
Its ok if you want your immersion broken by meta knowledge or not, its not me
Yes it will be perfectly fine, just need to get the fan speeds right... But it looks as though you have 3x 120 fans which is more than enough.
If you are still worried about heat, you can always undervolt the GPU a little to keep the temps down.
Or limit fps to 120, and upscale with FSR 3.1 so your card doesn;t use more than it needs
I personally don't like upscaling so I'll just cap FPS probably
evening gentlemen, sorry to interrupt but does anyone know how to toggle the grenade launcher on the s15? or in general
on keyboard
I think you hold the fire mode select button
Upscaling can actually make some games look better, like some foliage heavy games such as Stalker2, that has a lot of aliasing around the edges of said foliage and stuff, DLSS artifacting and dithering can smooth it out to a more consistent look but it also blurs out the image some, pick your poison kind of stuff
That's fine, I wasn't trying to force you to do anything it was just a suggestion. Sorry if I came across as forceful or overly insistent.
However, be aware that you're going to be in the dark regarding a lot of the game's lore and story if you never pursue the other endings or watch their cutscenes. (This will matter more if GSC ever decide to make one of the endings canon, especially the Skif one.)
omg ty
"B" key if I remember correctly.
Never fired a grenade in game... Just never figured out how to fire the dame thing... And in protest at the overly joypad optimised game.
Why can't I bind a key to load the nade launcher? Why am I forced to use this BS wheel garbage
Hold down the fire select key to switch to the grenade launcher. I haven't had to use the wheel once.
yeah same, i forget that the wheel exists sometimes
Ah no, sorry if it felt like i was being forced to, ehh, im not thinking that, i just said my point albeit in a bit blunt way, apologies
It never makes it look better imo but you do get more frames
Thanks, games only been out a couple of months
I think the original trilogy did it the same way too actually, but I don't remember for sure.
It does help with aliasing thats just as simple fact of the dithering effect, it blurs it out
i think it was "V" or something, its been too long
and back then i didnt have the extra mouse buttons that got auto assigned
And i hate looking at sharp jagged edges flickering around gives me migraine
Dude have you seen birds and stuff when they do upscaling they look like 3 pixels orbiting each other
I'm going for the Skif ending personally just because I think it's the most interesting and I've read that doing it provides the player with the largest lore-dump, which I'd very much like to read.
It might have been? I feel like I remember having to hold down the fire-select key back then to switch to the grenade launcher.
Ill do Ward next time, no idea how to do "Skif ending", i want it to be a mystery i can solve
I remember it being a sperate key... Was easy to use back then as it was optimised for mouse and keyboard.
There are ofc drawbacks and depends also on the settings
And how well the DLSS is implemented, the best implementation of it was in the game called "Control" by Remedy Games, where it actuall made the game look better
You may or may not need to look up a guide as I think it's the more convoluted ending to get. I think ||you need to not overly support Ward, Spark or fully ally with Strelok, but I'll avoid going into too much detail.||
Well, it depends on what you are upscaling from
I have amd
They have their own systems for upscaling then, wouldnt really compare
Or itd be an NVIDIA lawsuit since its their only direct competition
In my opinion I think AMD upscaling is cooler because it's literally just entirely a software there's no hardware requirements and I think that's really cool and maybe eventually it will get better than old versions of dlss
I use upscaling, looks better for me. Running a 7900xt I get about 100FPS with upsacaling, whilst using the LOD mod, that basically massive increases the draw distance for trees and grass and prevents poppins.
Its a beautiful Mod
Software based will always fall short on hardware based though, which is why the NVIDIA DLSS is better
And it's for everyone, not hidden behind nVidia BS
Yes but also people don't upgrade or at least most people don't upgrade every generation I'm saying that I feel like FSR is already really good and the fact that you can just slap it on like a GTX 1080 I think that's pretty cool
Yeah i have a 3060 RTX and a 5 year old toaster, i know
Game runs allright on medium but wouldnt mind an upgrade
I feel like lower than 45 FPS it really just gets annoying to play
the 9070 is sounding interesting, but wait for the reviews to come out.
That gap between it and 60 is a difference if you hit a monolith in the dome or not
Sure you can dome with stutters but is it reliable
I have a 9700xt, I play on epic with a LOD mod, that massive kills FPS and was still getting 60fps native... you have a much better card, you do not have a thing to worry about...
You can play this mod and get 70/80 fps native, if not more.
I can comfortably play on 30 FPS as long as it's consistent. I'll take lower FPS over contstant stuttering any day.
and 1440p
Pretty sure yeah, imma upgrade soon enough for KCD2 although i heard the game is far better optimized than the first one, which is not surprising since theyve only improved on their existing systems
I'll probably get a little bit more than 80 potentially
See I used to do the same thing but once I started playing games that looks decently good at like 100 FPS or whatever you really just can't go back 30 FPS kind of looks like a slideshow to me now
You ain't got schnizzle to worry about... Your GPU, is going to do some home cooking and cleaning at the same time, to keep itself busy
60FPS minimum, and you want your FPS cap at your monitor refresh rate anyhow or reach it even to get potential
I can send you a picture of the PC once it's done if you want to see that
go for it.
What CPU you got?
But most above say, 90fps is just placebo
Graphical fidelity has never been the highest on my priority list tbh, I'd rather have a good aesthetic over a high pixel count.
Ryzen 7 7800x3d
There is 0 way a human can notice a difference between 90 frames a second and 140, its on a non linear curve
Yeah but I can notice it between 30 and 100
I got a 7900, which actually runs faster than 7900x, when I switch my PBO on...
Yeah for sure, like i said, on a curve, but a lot of people keep flexing their 144 refresh rates and FPS counts, when it does basically nothing
Compared to say 90 fps and refresh, youd have to be a human camera to start noticing difference
All the sitcoms and tv shows we watch are in 48fps, do we notice any lag?
Not true, and it doesn't work like that...
and more imporantly the computer can see... I can't remeber the in's and out, but it explains why in CS2 etc, you head shot someone and they run away... LTT, done a great video explaining.
To be fair I said 30 and also a lot of the time it's harder to notice cuz it's not like you're controlling the character you're watching a show like I'm pretty sure cutscenes that are not in super high FPS still look pretty good it's just gameplay that can look a little funky
So you mean your client side FPS is tied down to server side? no way
I've always been able to notice the difference between the FPS used in film, the FPS used in soap operas, 30 FPS, and 60 FPS. I'd need to see a comparison between 90 and 100 FPS to see if I can tell the difference.
Yea film uses 24 FPS, so its entirely noticable to a say, TV show, which are commonly in 2x ratio to it
no, that is not it... It is something to do with aiming at something that is not there, but looks there on screen... I can;t remember the in's and out, you need to watch the LTT video on 240mhz monitors and are they worth it.
Well soap operas use an even higher FPS than your standard TV show, can't remember what it is though.
They tried to do a movie with 48 FPS with the hobbit films and they flopped in theaters, everyone said it felt like watching a soap opera, action does better in prerendered film or cutscene in lower frame rate as it adds impact to frames and movement '
48 is just too smooth, it fits the more casual setting of say, FRIENDS TV show set
Oh yeah, I forgot about that whole stunt!
The new Puss in Boots movie, does all its action scenes in like 12 FPS or less even, it look almost like a comic book ,and it has so much impact, its stupid how good it works
Nobody liked them, because they was bloated fluff over three movies...
They could have done 3/4 hour movie and just did as was written in the book, but no... Needed another trilogy and BS love story between a dwarf and elf... F Off
I didn't hate the Hobbit films. I do still need to read the book though.
For sure, but im only talking about frames a second here
I had the original book from the 60s, with Tove Jansson illustrations, the gal who made Moomins, i borrowed it to my sister once and havent seen it since
It's a film and whatever the FPS was for last 100 years, it done us fine, it still does us fine, and anything new is just gammick to sound cool, over something that never really mattered.
Although, the quality of the film 72mm or whatever it was, did make a difference, but expensive though
yea the conventions are the same still now after all the years of movie making for a reason
I would be happy to take her out, if you want it back...
I am not as expensive as Sidorovich
I hope the inevitable weapon rebalance involves some changes/improvements to some weapon upgrades as well as making weapon damage and penetration more tied to their caliber.
At least in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, pretty much every weapon was viable all the way to the end game; AKs weren't useless against exoskeletons.
She married though haha, and kinda crazy
2 for the price of one, and free Sidorovich chicken special.
did stalker 2 wiki launched? before release there was a promo about it
I'm also sad that I can't turn the G36 into a low-recoil, almost-zero spread/laser accurate, bullet hose DMR like I could in CoP.
*insert "Look at how they massacred my boy." GIF here*
I'm sad that haven't included the SA80... Booooooo!!
We need more weapons in general tbh. We have the most SMGs we've ever seen in the (vanilla) S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise, but the number of assault rifles seems kind of...lame. Like there aren't as many levels of progression as there used to be.
There's HOC additions in the Stalker wiki but it's definitely a WIP. Coming along though
yea, i found it they will release on march 20
In the words of Luca Brasi, I hope your first Stalker DLC is a masculine DLC
He's sleeping with the fishes
my issue with the guns is that a lot of them feel kinda the same when shooting and also using a sniper in most situations seems like kneecapping yourself. i found that the entire game i was just clicking heads with a semi auto rifle or a pistol.
I think using a sniper in non ideal situations irl is also like kneecaping yourself
yeah but with the encumbrance mechanics i just found no use for the snipers at all tbh. it just seemed like once i got the clusterfuk there was no use for much else
Btw does this server have a stalker radio or something? for work ambience
The clusterfuck was my go to as well, other than the degrade rate it is top notch
yeah it just seemed to outclass all my other guns which was a little lame honestly. i wanted to have some variety i suppose but it was so much better and the ammo was everywhere
Late game the 7.62 upgraded Dnipro and The Whip was just the thing, i think i sold the clusterfuck pretty fast as it fell down in damage
Original trilogy assault rifle progression:
Warsaw Pact:
AKS-74U, AK-74, AN-94, OTs-14 GROZA/AS VAL
NATO:
SA80, that M4 stand-in I can't remember the IRL name of, SIG 550, FN F2000/G36
S2 assault rifle progression:
Warsaw Pact:
AKS-74U, AK-74, Fort-221, OTs-14 GROZA, AS VAL, Dnipro
NATO:
HK-416, Fora
So...Warsaw Pact is actually eating really good, it's the NATO weapons that got shafted in terms of assault rifle choice/progression.
The "ukranian Tavor" is the Fort-221?
Couldn't remember the name, I think that's it.
The Dnipro is good too I guess. idk i wish the high caliber guns felt a little more high caliber though i suppose.
I think its funny how many get the gun wrong, think even Drewski thought it was a different gun
The 7.62 upgrade and using AP ammo absolutely shreds the end game enemies, its stupid good, i ran out of durability though
also im kinda sad that the vss is dogshit but that's okay it's kinda dogshit irl tbh
Naw they slap hard, the entire 9x39 series does, theyre slower bullets but they pack a whole lot more kinetic power than your 5.56 or 5.45
Too bad 7.62 is such a pain in the ass to find and as far as I know no vendors reliably sell it.
i was using a fully upgraded version of the preorder vss gun and was very unimpressed. compared to dnipro or clusterfuk it just felt like an L
You can go to certain stashes to get a lot of ammo, by the end i had like over 5k ammo for the Dnipro and ended up only using 500 of it
Yeah, all of the 9x39 weapons in the original trilogy were all end-game weapons. Really want to see that brought back.
Its my fav caliber and seeing them guns being done so dirty is kinda shameful
Ah damn, I've been selling all of it.
Honestly, I'm probably going to use the Fora for this playthrough because you can attach a grenade launcher.
i keep all my ammo every run so if i run across a gun i wanna try out i can do it
Please GSC, make 9x39 end-game viable like it used to be.
These games made me fall in love with the Vintorez, it's honestly one of my favorite guns.
I sell all the FMJ ammo for the guns i rarely use and keep the AP ammo only, theres plenty of it around, and it just makes the guns feel a bit more special
I never planned on using the PKM or either of the Dragunov variants, so I haven't bothered to keep their ammunition.
I wasn't planning on doing the caliber change for the Dnipro either because I didn't want the durability hit.
i ended up only using AP at the end but couldnt bring myself to sell the FMJ lol
The PKM is way too clumsy to use in the zone, i never used any LMG in any variant in any variant of Stalker games, they just dont belong in the zone where you have to be nimble and quick in your movements, they do fit Ward/IPSF personnel though as theyre not stalkers
pkm should be stronger imo
The best gun in the game was a .... the funny look gung with built in grenade launcher... and handle on top... But it was converted to use the AK rounds... Just melted everything insight... Only ever found it once on a random stalker.
I think I have every variant of the 9x39 ammo. I finally switched over to the Vintorez and so far it absolutely slaps. Hopefully by the time I reach the end-game, some weapon balance will have landed by then.
Probably not though.
There really isnt a justification to use one now as is
yeah it's lame. with the price of the bullets it should make you into a killing machine
The OTs-14 GROZA/S14 Tunder?
The 5.45 Groza? Yea i had that in my earlier softlocked playthru and it was so good, kinda dumb though hbow it was better than the 9x39 version when the bullet is bigger in the other one, so is the powder load
Looked like the Grom's S14's
i hate the way the groza looks so i never use it 😄
I like it, it has that stalker jank vibe to its look, and it sounds cool wthout suppressor
Couldn't remember the name of the unique 5.45 variant.
Kaymanov's PKM on the other hand had me feeling like John Wick
AK74, all the modern AKs use 5.45 except the AK-101 and 103
Yeah, great weapon. Found it on a dead stalker once.
That's something I really like about S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it uses so many weird, experimental or never-left-prototype-stage weapons that you would never see in any other game.
No we're talking about the GROZA.
I would love a p90 in the game it would fit the scifi aesthetics too
they shoulda put the VSSK in the game and made it one shot
Oh right sorry yeah its the same name but with 15 and not 14 in the end, or something
Where's my H&K G11 GSC? I want my Kraut space-magic gun.
Might as well throw the Pancor Jackhammer on the list too.
forgotten weapons enjoyer
Naw a proper 7.62 rifle first, an AKM or the AK-103
walther 2000!
Why not all of them?
Also the NATO assault rifle line-up needs new additions more badly than the Warsaw Pact line-up. Like I pointed out, I think we've only got two NATO assault rifles in S2.
Lots of great weapons
FTM 200
SGI 5K - which was my go to weapon
SA80 - Another of my Fav's, becaue British.
VLA Special.
Oh, I brought this up the other day; why the hell is Skif's service pistol a Makarov and not a Fort variant? He's a former Ukrainian serviceman, not a former Soviet soldier.
Sure more weapons the merrier, i was thinking in terms of balancing out the ammo type since now theres only the PKM using it, excepting the Dnipro upgrade
And for most the Dnipro upgrade comes in too late to be of any value, if youre not googling its location
Good point.
Also an SKS and a Mosin please. Hell, you could probably even give us the Mosin bayonet since we have weapon melee. They'd have to make up some new animations for it, but that could be fun.
on the topic of sks, an m14/m1a would be cool as well
Yea SKS pls, even the modernized versions
Don't we already have the modernized version of that? (Can't remember the name of it.)
I enjoy single shot large caliber carbines a lot, too bad you cant really take off or change the scopes on the SVU and the likes
I want my close quarters SVD bruh
i think the most modern version is the m1a? not certain. the old version is the m14/m21
We really should be able to remove the scopes on the DMRs and sniper rifles.
Also give us canted sights so I can turn my Vintorez into a proper special forces weapon.
I love the game but how is there still not an update?
Mol1t says it's coming, no specific date though. Hopefully it's a big, juicy one.
Too bad the gun is kinda misrepresented in the game, i had a 1:1 airsoft replica of the M21 and in no way is the gun that bulky irl, they did something to raise the gun up too close to the face where it looks like its a log of wood, and handles just as clumsily, its only like 4+ kgs, not that heavy really
...wait. Is the reason these mercs keep having red condition weapons because they buy them from Ragman?
The Vector in the game weighs just as much if not more and is nimble, makes no sense
Seriously, canted sights would work so well on the Vintorez and the Clusterf*ck.
Naw keep that tacticool bs in Gamma, or Call of Duty
Nothing makes me hate a gun more than canted sights and overloaded with RIS/RAS rails
I don't care if it's "tacticool", I think it would help add to the versatility of certain weapons and make combat more engaging.
I'm not asking for a full-on Tarkov-esque attachment system, just one more thing for two specific weapons; the Vintorez and the Clusterf*ck.
Im sure a modder will help with that
Though tbh, it could probably work well on a couple of the assault rifles as well, but the Vintorez and Clusterf*ck are the weapons where I'm like "Man, I wish I had a way to use the long-range scope and a back-up iron sights or red dot.".
Yeah you should be able to use irons on a dovetail scope mounted on an AK, its how they work, but this game is pretty arcade in its mechancis to gunplay and immersion in that aspect
the smgs in this game feel kinda weak as well. i was hoping the vector or something would be a serious endgame weapon. they need like a p90 or a ump
I hope they can improve the bullet ballstics to be as good as they were in the original trilogy.
@jolly canyon Seriously, I've sold every SMG I've found because I've realized that they're effectively pointless.
A bizon will outclass just about most assault rifles except the two end game ones, so theyre literally overpowered
I know something is coming. I’m sure it will be juicy. But it almost feels like they’re already slowing down a lot. They always say “it’s coming” basic pr
I think it's just the Bizon that's OP and not the rest of the SMGs.
oh really? i didn't really use the bizon that much
Well, the differenec in stats is still too close to be realistic in anyway
The holidays also just happened a week and a half ago too, so that probably slowed things down temporarily as well.
Apparenly the Ratkiller (unique Bizon variant) is brokenly OP.
True
We need more pistols too. Like we finally have a dedicated pistol slot and you only give us 4?
We had around 10 in the original trilogy, where'd they all go? (There's also no 9x19 pistol in the game as far as I know.)
Sold it cause it looked like a peashooter
9x18 weapons are absolutely broken right now.
9x19 USP unique I believe
And yes I slept on the aspb, it's devastating with 9x18AP
Only one 9x19 pistol and it's a unique; that's lame.
I love my acog dnipro
Reason: Bad word usage
whoops I really enjoyed the 5.45 groza
Think my second playthrough will have to be a challenge run. Iron sights ak with just a pistol sidearm. No shotgun or two primaries.
Stalker difficulty is exactly hard, but it can be more exciting when at a handicap
I'm not eager to try a Vet run because the difficulty scaling seems arbitrary. Balances are already off, but manageable, in Stalker mode
@reef iron Yeah I used that thing for a while, I just wish you could attach a PSO scope to it like you could in the trilogy. As far as I know it has no longer range option.
veteran difficulty is fine. not hard since the mutant nerf
You can slap the acog onto it
I don't think it has a sidemount
...what? That's like, gun sacrilege.
It’s amazing lol
An ACOG on an AK platform is like marmite
I was sad to pass up my vss but it felt like 9x39 wasn’t cutting it late game, always was running out as well
It's a 30 year old Warsaw Pact weapon, putting an ACOG on it is objectively wrong.
Disagree there, Veteran does too much to f**ck the player over for it to be enjoyable imo.
So do the 2 dead freedom guys on the old science base have random gear or are they always tooled up with mac 10s remington 700s spas 12 and so on?
i like it 😄
Im excited to see what DLC weapons they will add tbh and how they bring dlc in
AS long as they are lore friendly and not silly stuff.
Im just expecting guns from previous games, as they’ve already got the bases covered for west/east guns so
Artillery mod is crazy. I just turned rookie village to ash but somehow Sidorovich is still alive.
I want it now.
Waiting to get close to end of game before using bugs to get to Reactor 4
I did some exploring in the fog using uetools
I'm xbox

Feels bad man
Finally finished my first run through. Dont know how to feel abt the strelok ending
There’s no way that they are going to leave that many areas. North of Sircaa seems to be some sort of DLC placeholder. And there is an old map of the entire sec world on Reddit that shows future plans though it can change at any moment. But gives you an idea on where they want to go with the game
I finished the ward ending, and I actually liked it.
Keep hearing ppl mention skifs ending but cant find any info on that, is it called smthg else in guides?
Also @reef iron im excited to play thru the rest; though i think i might watch them first because Im to impatient. Tried to avoid spoilers til now. Streloks is slowly growing on me as I think abt it more. Ive heard there's no clearly good ending n I lowkey appreciate that as frustrating as it is
If you look closely enough you can also see the connecting Darkscape from Cordon to the Swamps, so that might be also DLC territory, who wouldnt want to visit Darkscape again huh?
Overall I loved the game n the story, probs one of my top 5
For me its in the top3, i was stunned by the level of writing, its is so clever and well thought out, there is only one plot hole i can think of and thats saying a lot
Some also call it the doctor/Faust ending ||take streloks path then don't kill the doc for this ending||
Oh my god thats what i was gonna do initially but I switched at the last minute. Annoyed at myself, wish i got it first ngl. Appreciate the help!
I think skifs ending is the bad one lol
Yeah!! I was really curious how theyd play out some of the character's stories and while Im not happy with Scars in that I wish he got better, storywise it was such a good twist.
Also is it? Ive heard a few ppl say its the "best". Idk anything abt it yet
Also I hope the blind dogs in doctors house as well as tiger (was that his pseudodogs name?) Are ok. Hated leaving them behind.
Salty abt Star (not scars) fate too
I might watch em all tonight and then playthrough that one first because I think I have a save for it? Also yeah :( i did first bc I have a crush on strelok like a dumbas
unfortunately I have to do Strelok’s ending bc much like Strelok i too have the tism
Idk about the other endings but the ward one makes sense as it explains why the characters are how they are
I’m not killing Strelok
The fight with Strelok was so annoying
The only plot hole i could think of was the ||ward playthru part where they drag Strider there inside the experiment chamber|| for no reason, just to have him ||take over and make monolith ||happen?
I bet itd be, I struggled with Scars so I cant imagine how hard his would be
Also yeah, killing any of the big 3 would suck but esp Strelok. The only reason I got through scars so easy was bc its not really him ig.
You could chuck it up to human hubris from Dalin to prove Strider how wrong he is but thats petty, and petty doesnt really fit Dalin, hes science first
||Killing Richter hurt the most.||
Patch today?
Oh god im not looking forward to doing that i think ill cry. I hope its not needed for the endings but. Ig if it is :(
No idea what you have to do to make that happen and i want no part in it! dont spoil pls
||he spawns anomalies, and has super speed so it’s just a pain to hit him at all||
||and I thought korshunovs jumping around n his m scars shield were stupid LMAO thays. Funny but also ssounds horrible||
so you cant worhship or join monolith without being a zombie or brainwashed?
I struggled so hard at the end bc my armor broke n i was not going back so i ended up running thru a lot
||I didn’t mind scars fight when I figured it out, makes sense since he was an agent of C-con too||
Yeah it seems so, ik in one of the other games they mentioned they have a way of telling who's actually part of the monolith n Im sure the brainwashing stuff plays into that so it avoids risk of traitors n spies. Also more control
i do like the word monolith
sounds cool to say idk why
when i heard monolith thought they the like big baddies army didnt know they were zombies
Yeah, still sad bc i got spoiled by a comment on youtube by accident for that "twist" (i think its hinted at way before) but I thought it was a cool fight. Loved the way they incorporated the ||tvs|| into it. Took me a minute to realize there were multiple things that needed triggered tho LOL
I hate that the ward ending makes me ||question if it was good or not||
Im torn on that stuff. On one hand i like the ambiguity of whether or not smthgs good and how its up to ppl to decide bc the world isnt black and white, but on the other hand I want concrete answers. I wonder if theyll ever release another game/confirm what ending is the "most canon"
Still havent seen the other endings yet so I cant have a good opinion, but I will say if they end up anything like streloks ill be pretty torn on em.
wards ending is bad to bc dont you become a c-agent??
whole world becomes c-con agents
oh! imagine a monolith ending
i was hoping there was a monolith ending
Not sure honestly, it’s a weirdly open end, though I think it has the best end to the OG trilogy, ||scar and strelok are technically c-agents, though less so strelok||
hv stalker ever had one?
Should be a hidden ending where you get brainwashed and zombified tbh.
Alright, gotta bounce but I hope ypu guys have fun. Gonna watch the rest asap bc all this talk has me curious as hell. Thanks for listening to my ramblings bc god do I have thoughts now. Great game
arent monliths zombies for the c-agents?
C consciousness; the agents were undercover stalkers working for the ccon if im understanding correctly
and monoliths hv no like as ward does right
Naw Strider was himself atleast directly controlled by the Monolith, and even if that wasnt the case, it would diminish the power of Monolita in the narrative if it was just some dude in a pod
Ig their leader would be the c-con
monoliths for me are the most interseting faction tho are they most dangerous no/
Yeah but their Psi installation, The Monolith, was designed to work without their direct input, that was the idea right? as a permanent casual warding off device that would defend itself?
You can see that he’s technically an agent in the files from the labs however it seems like it failed on him somehow?
But in the flashback scenes you can literally hear him gettting directives from The Monolith
I didn’t see that, did the ward ending and killed strelok
True, i completelyspaced that! Ig ccon is more the creator n then they had the monolith do the actual leading
You see that the first time you meet Strider in Noosphere, he tells you his story
My bad must have forgotten lmao
Yea it should be same for all playthrus unless im mistaken
A lot goes on in this games, its easy to get all ovet the place LMAO. Ok fr now see yall later and have fun
And also easy to miss and forget things, but it only adds more value for more playthrus
I hate when im being hamfisted a story, without needing to think at all, this game made me think a bit too much i think
wasnt strider just a side charc in old stalkers
He was in CoP i never played CS for some reason, i will when they do the remasters
Him and Richter are my boys, Strider´s story somehow hits home hard and its incredibly sad and harrowing
They did a world class writing on his character, dont know many examples i can think of that made me feel this way for a character
the scene where your in the pod talking to him is fcking amazing
I legit cried the moment i lied to him and saw still in his eyes that he somehow knew i was lying, but wouldnt say it, it was just somehow way too sad and melancholic... loved every bit of it
his voice actor did so fcking well
I saw from a video the other option by accident, if you dont lie to him, he goes ||absolutely mad with laughter and just walks off||
my strider was mad at me then i pissed off scar
Its as if all of it was a big joke, man that was rough to watch
ive seen the one that he crys n takes off his shoes it hurts
Reason: Bad word usage
Oh sorry, expletative, Wolf, will you please forgive me? Now ive already forgotten my point
what does wolf do in old stalkers
He is a tutorial kind of guy in SoC that gives your proper going out mission
Sid tells you to meet him, he then tells you to meet his guys near the car park where bandits and Nimble are
Man, OG nimble and S2 nimble are not the same guy hahahhh
oh nimbles in ld stalkers to
They look soooo different, but i prefer the new look
being new to stalker idk sht i can see that the game has a "cult" or fanbase following
Yea ive been a full time addict since 2007, nearly a yearly thing to play a stalker game in some form or another, be it a modpack or not
playing s2 i didnt know sterlok was in it i thought they dead in ol stalkers
Naw he is in CoP too, Which takes place much later
story wise what order are stalkers like is s2 tory ahead of the others?
SoC - Clear Sky - CoP right? Or you could say CS and SoC are happening concurrently
Kinda confusing, but you understand if you play CS; i never did but watched someone else play it
so s2 is ahead of others story wise?
No way later on, the first games happen in around 2011-2012 or some such, cant remember exactly, while Stalker 2 is in like 2027, or something, cant remember again
i thought s2 was 2021? but im not 100% sure
Im prett ysure i saw somewhere it was a bit later than our current year, not by much, could be wrong
So take with a lot of salt
I gotta play the trilogy
who do you play as in the old stalkers?
SoC: Strelok, Clear Sky: Scar, CoP: Deggy
clear sky- scar
shadow of chernobyl- strelok
call of pripyat- deggy
i hv no idea who deggy is
You meet him way late in the game
wait wasnt he the guy with richter in pripyat?
yea
I do think it’s the best game in terms of bringing old characters back
It kinda makes the game feel surreal having played the originals for most part, seeing my past selfs as my potential antagonists
deggy is not an antagonist
richter new right?
Depending on your choices in the game he can be
but you dont fight him tho
Strelok and scar were my antagonists so
But he doesnt really play a part, only gives a warning if you meddle
Atleast in my Spark ending, could be different in others dont know
AA-12 or USAS-12? Which looks sexier?
Saiga-12K
i love me the saiga shotgun but ram-2 is the sexiest lookin shoty
the ram-2 isn't even a shotty
Skif’s diary says 2021
Ram is pretty nice but ill never sacrifice the ability to magdump real quick to a double barrel functionality '
recently got the texan n the guide didnyt say what was there lmao
two fcking psudogiants
"Wow, these guys sure hit hard, I wonder what they had."
Yeah it's just, another group entirely armed with RPM-74s.
5 guns using rpms n exosuit walking tanks lol
Saddest part of the ward ending was ||listening to Richters music ||
I recommend the ballistics mod, the one most endorsed in Nexus, it really overhauls the entire thing to a nice balance, you take a whole lot more damage but you also deal as much back
It also makes so you cant so easily one shot exos in the head with jsut about any AP ammo, but only larger calibers making them more scary
imo saddest ending is scars feel bad for everyone
That’s the one I’m gonna do on a veteran playthrough
I seriously think the Spark ending was a good one, even if its a lie, its a nice one
scar reminds me of VAAS
Them wanted just to chill forever in the zone in peace, and so they did, forever around the campfire...
tho man did suffer 3 emissions somehow
Vaas was just crazy, Scar has depth
We can all agree that Project Y is the bad one right?
took me ages to figure out how to kill scar then realized the tvs
which arch artifacts are worth using
Weird water all day long
that's in zaton?
i wan get the weird pot tho i forgot what it does
The weird pot is pretty useless imho
doesnt it help with weight or am i thinking of something else
Weird water is for weight, weird pot is for hunger I think?
only legndary artfiact i hv hte blue poppy
I got them all, I spent way too much time getting the most out of the zone lol
Wait, if the marked one is strelok why is his mission to kill strelok
Weird water when traveling distances, protection artifacts only when inside in tactical situations
I can be as slow i want when i can as slowly creep up corridors as i want, makes it also less resource intensive, i see so many players play too quick too fast and getting shot a lot
And then they complain about being shot a lot
im so glad there are no timer sequences in the game, i hate it with passion
They really did learn from their past mistakes i love it
Play SOC
Yeah you just gotta play it my man...
You get all the context, even more if you play the other OGs too
Ward playthrough tomorrow. Get that 4th ending by next week maybe
I think ill do Ward next too, but kinda want to wait a while and play KCD2 in between
Some clean up achievement hunting whilst I'm at it too. Would like to have STALKER sit at 100% which I don't usually bother with
I'm telling myself not to buy KCD2 @ release because my backlog is huge
I really need to get through some of the games especially when many are part way already
Im a medieval nerd at heart and from all the news and early access reviews its probably going to be my all time best game ever, if its going to mostly improve on the first game´s mechanics
Maybe for later, I want to do at least one run fully modless.
Which might mean missing out on some things. I'm trying to get the last collar for Schmear Man Science Guy but I don't see the snork at the brood spot.
Hmmmh, odd, i had an issue of a mutant not spawning at some point in the story, think it was a poltergeist i had to kill in Orbita but it never appeared
I need to finish CP, BG3, Dead Space remake, the Ward playthrough, and then got a bunch of fairly linear indies on the list to get through too
weird pot does Psi buildup i think so it's really bad.
I think I might have killed it before but not taken the collar
Could be yeah, for me i got the collar beeps for all of them so i collected them
I got a bug where the snork was dead and couldn't hand in the collars despite having all 4 lol
Its a fun side mission, unlucky if it bugs out, but wont really affect much
4?
GSC replied saying they're on it so can't complain. Will just avoid the areas in Ward playthrough until given the mission
Depends on how many you have before you meet Dvupalov i guess, you could have more than one and he takes them
i wonder if they're going to fix the RPM-74.
Wym 4, there aren't 5? I gave him 3 already and have 1 on me.
Oh you mean Dvupalov. Technically he only needs 1. There's a side mission later where the collars make a comeback
I mean schmerber
There's 4 for him. There's 5 collars in the game but you gave 1 to Dvupalov
For the in the name of science quest
Yeah it bugged out hard for me because the final collar (which for me was Snork @ Garbage) had already been killed by NPCs. So it didn't register that I took the collar
I fought the psuedogiant 4 times through reverting saves and trying to self diagnose the issue lol
I thought i gave more than one to dvupalov but i guess i was wrong hah, but yeah, if the mission is bugged out, the rewards you get, youll soon get similar or better
It's not about the rewards, it's about completionism
It was the achievement that bummed me out tbh. But I'll get it during the ward playthrough so no harm done
still haven’t beaten the game tbh
And at least they responded and said they're gonna fix it. Can't really complain with that
I'll just slog my way over to slag heap with my pile of RPM-74s and stash this loot
I can both understand completionism in a game like this and cant, i had to leave a lot of places and areas unexplored so I have new places to discover thru new playthrus also
i've done like, 1 playthrough but 2 endings.
Like, i didnt even enter Cooling Towers, therye all unexplored for next time
had like 7 whole days of playime on my save, almost 8, when i got around to actually finishing the game lmao.
My second playthrough is what I'm saving for artifacts hunting achievements. The get all artifacts one etc. So then I'm not just doing the same thing or solely doing missions, but at the same time don't need to revisit every single POI
For me it would be total pain to go thru all the side content and little areas and stashes, so i want to change things up on subsequent playthrus
I really am slogging right now, hauling 125.2kg of stuff lol
Think i left also half of burnt forest unexplored
I managed 3 endings 1 playthrough. Strelok, Kaymanov and Spark. Ward I want to side with from the very beginning though
Because from an RP standpoint it doesn't make sense to wipe out entire squads of Ward to then say "you can trust me I'm not your enemy bro!" simply to side with Ward late game lol
will I beat the game? maybe once the bugs are fixed
Wait what, Spark and Strelok endings are literally countering eachothers, its not possible
I had a save from Orbita where you make the decision with or against Scar
i wanna do a ward run where i try to only stick to them
Unless you cheat you dirty dog
same fr fr
When it comes to containers, whats the best setup for the Falcon? is it 4 total with 2 lead... or 5 total, with one lead?
Yeah stuff like that i can never understand, why even attempt any immersion in a story when you can fast pass thru meta systems, boggles the mind
Considering you side with Spark for a good 75% I didn't see the need to do 3 whole playthrougus so reverted back there. Then had a save at Kaymanov's fate for that one
Eh, 5 with 2 lead right? The leaded container and extra container aren't mutually exclusive I thought l?
5 total imo, get the weird water artifact when you can. removes the need for anti rad artifacts.
But arne't you drunk all the time?
Spark ending was very bleak and it was interesting to see Scar second guessing his own fanaticism
They are... I have always been forced to pick between one of the two
And its not technically one playthru, its 1.5 playthrus, youre cheating with meta to just get to all the good stuff without much of the effort, i guess each to their own
it's more like tipsy like there is a wobble but it's a small one like you wobble harder from 1 vodka and it only does it if you're over 50kgs. it also increases carry capacity by 40kgs so it's totally worth it
How is it?
You side with Spark anyway up until Orbita. From there you make a decision. The following is Strelok or Scar. Then Strelok or Kaymanov. Why make an entire playthrough dependant on a choice made near the endgame when you side with Spark up until then anyway?
If you have a suit with increased carry weight I think you can get to 140 max carry weight without needing more than maybe one carry weight artifact, possibly none.
I find it very boring to explore regions without bases
I find them more fun since it then truly becomes a game of resources, what you can bring back and what you can still go and loot
Well, I haven't got that yet.
So I need to have a think about this.
I don't think I have a falcon in my stash. I've got a Hawk.
Maybe even find a temp stash to store the stuff you cant bring all back? It was how stalker used to be
To choose Koroshunov before the cage is right with what you're saying. Reverting to Orbita is not as you'd been with Scsr up until then anyway. You don't cheat out of any path. Before that you did not have a choice to side with Strelok. You had only just met the man
Not sure I like wobbles at all, find them all very annoying
Yea youre only skipping past the first half the game to see the endings real fast pass like, without more effort
I've gotten used to the weird water wobbles
It's the jog back that makes me stop exploring those regions. Without vendors or stash it's just annoying to keep carrying stuff around.
Why would I replay half of the game to yet again side with Spark and repeat all of the same choices only up until Orbita instead of reverting a save?
Then youre no true stalker, seeking comfort like that in every region as if its a crutch, im being real here
Nothing like a vodka addled play through. Though the world actually looks more colourful when drunk that sober
I was able to scour thru all of chem plant and Malachite in one or two passes, it was actually quite easy without much back and forth, even when i was hostile to scientists
I wander around with weird water on and blast enemies with the rhino I have. Wishing I had a unique one.
A subjective view, not universal. I take everything from the people I kill. I am the true stalker
So a loot goblin then, a real stalker treads lightly, choosing their gear and loot carefully heheheh, but the zone can fit many types of stalkers in it, maybe i havent yet met a stalker like you
I am not making multiple passes to Yantar or Burnt forest or Duga. It's incredibly annoying to keep going back and forth
I need those guns for money. Ragman is my source of income
How many glass bottles in your inventory at the moment
What's that?
I find it so hilarious, watching others play, when they complain about the weight system and how unfair it is, then theyre also carrying like 50 glass bottles all of vodka, water and beer
I think I've gotten at least 1 or 2 hundred thousand coupons from ragman so far
Curious question, nothing but, i want to know your vodka load
ummmmm undecided XD
Just the one, Weird water
red gun runs are so good if you're getting mid to high tier guns
Sometimes when checking my inventory I'll find 15 to 30 to okay 40 or 50 kilograms of just, ammo for guns I'm not using/medkits/bandages/grenades and vodka and beer.
Based
I find vodka all the time in the environment i drink most all i find, why carry it though
It pretty much removes all radiation but I keep a vodka or beer around in case someone needs it for a quest or something
I don't bother with Vodka and instead use the anti-rad drugs
I have great memories of playing SoC and assaulting Dark Valley bandit base and raiding their Vodka stores, then go at them so hammered out you see triple
Also trips to Bloodsucker village at night drunk on many vodka bottles with just a Toz to fight suckers, that was the jam
What a boring way to play
Toz snipers are annoying
Based way is to not carry vodka, but drink every vodka you see
Think i took a couple vodka breaks on my trip to generators
I sell them in bulk in case I need money for upgrades. Gotta start upgrading Diamond exo
a part of me is considering not being as much of a loot goblin whenever i decide i am ready to commit to a 2nd playhrough of S2. it just took so much time to haul EVERYTHING back between traders.
But honestly i hate Vodka, irl, tastes like shit, even the high quality ones, rum is far better
I like that when you open the bottle you can see the import sticker falling away
I hear 100% alcohol is good for health
But so far, the best drink I had was beer mixed with fruit flavours
My dad has a farm that employs a lot of ukranians, we had a lot of parties there, some with a full banquet of goodies on a table, so i joined in, but what i didnt know about slavic drinking and eating culture is that you have to leave something on your platter or drink to say "i dont need any more thank you", if you drink your glass empty it is going to be filled and you need to drink it, so i did, and more drunk i got the more i forgot not to empty the shot glass, and later found out itwas 60 proof vodka
?
I got blacked out and had the worst hangover of my life but man i had a blast
The old man who keeps me away from bankruptcy
Ragman pays a lot actually, for red broken weapons, if youre close to a hub you might as well pick them all up and stash away for a Rostok trip
Even moreso late game when most they drop are Dnipros Kharods and Gauss guns
Who is ragman and where do you find him?
Rostok Bar, check map there are two weapon vendors
Especially close to the end game you get a lot of high end weapons which sell for thousands a pop
Youll drown in money once you hit Pripyat or yaniv and get all the best weapons in red condition, they sell for quite a bit for Ragman
wow! didn't know, I use a friendly discounts on repairs, as I think the repair cost and rate of wear is just insane and the sign of poorly designed economy
Kharod, saiga & many more weapons drop a lot from the enemies. Half the monolithians are snipers
Yea i found about him much later too, and i still dont go out of my way to abuse him buying red condition weapons, only those that are hassle free to get there
Still drowning in coupons not knowing what to spend it on
thanks for the heads up
Maybe buy a life buoy to save yourself from drowning
Also true about life
And I did save myself from drowning by reaching the Shining Zone
Doesnt sound such a bad eternity around a campsite with friends
The latter part left a lot to digest though, not really sure what to make of it
But maybe ill be happy as is, oblivion is bliss afterall, knowledge is hell
I kinda wished the game let you have one final choice when Scar steps into the pod, to betray him, after all this, i was kind of expecting it
I wouldnt have, but still
Shush
It was super cool seeing all the people you had killed on your way to generators
The game really cares about your decisions and i love it, little things like this
Such is the will, of the Monolith...
hello, maybe a fair yard from my former message,
zalissya town bug after sircca;
||from sircaa, run straight from there and enter the town before an emission strikes. otherwise, monolit will take refuge within the hall and softlock thyself from combat||
good hunting, compatriots
Yea on my first softlocked playthru this happened and it made me so sad
what was your fix ?
Starting over with new life goals
On a second try it all worked as it should
for reference; zalissya bug, zalissya , zalisya
fret not. just enter the town before an emission strikes—it seems to solve the bug. also, luring a bloodsucker from the village south also works a wonder so it seems
Im sure they have it fixed when i play again, ill take a long break and let it bake, play some upcoming medieval simulator :)
Kingdom come deliverance 2 to be specific
I thought i was hype about stalker 2 but i think this one takes the cake for me ...
heh..iv alrdy complet the game =3 it is a wonderful story. i truly commend the developers. ofc iv had my grievances yet here all is forgiven, i trust in their continued development. also i may so try your suggestion ! iv heard a very meny good thing about KCD2 =)
Im a bigger medieval nerd than i am a soviet scifi post apolacyptic simulator nerd
Though both have their own special places
These snipers around Duga can seriously Feck off with the BS... I have died 10 times now, regardless of how far or close I am to the wall... The snipe you through the wall, or a mile away... And I haven;t even done the CIRCA bit or whatever it is called.
Please devs... FECK OFF WITH THE BS YOU ARE DOING.
adore the medieval me....so you reckon the game is worth it ? i sm adore the medieval lol, i might add you as a friend if thats okay ? i sm value a genuine opinion. iam just limited by slowmode and here wish to not besmirch the chat wiv irrelevant discourse
But why though, you dont have to interact with them at all if you follow mission objectives, afterwards the Duga is freeroam area
Reason: Bad word usage
Its mostly doing what the first game did right, but improving on every aspect, which really makes me feel its going be big, why reinvent the wheel, all the pre-reviews so far have been extremely positive
Reason: Bad word usage
I am free roaming, even running away from the fecking wall you just fall down dead, it's BS... It's just Devs doing d*ck things....
Reason: Bad word usage
Morning everyone
And KCD2 has doen something that doesnt really ever happen, they pushed the release earlier than was planned! That never happens in games industry, its either complete stupidity or a real confidence in the product, i believe the latter
LOL git gud brotha, take shelter within the pines [forest] embrace. "im up—he sees me—im down." take shelter for goodness sake. circumvent duga via the mist anomaly. you can do it mate. also to @sweet root — i get you. i think that i may try it ))
a blessed morning to you my fren
You can shove that attitude where the sun doesn;t shine... Like I said I am getting one shotted on the other side of the pines away from the wall... If skirt along the lake, I get one shotted
Youre clearly doing something wrong and trying to push the game boundaries, on my playthru i didnt encounter a single sniper one shotting me
share for us a recording ov your tactics ?
feel free to add me. iv complete the story on veteran
No I am not, I am clearly dealing with BS mechanics
ngl, iv suffered such sentiment. shot thru 6ft concrete kekw
Reason: Bad word usage
Nope the game is just telling you shouldnt be there, any sniper worth their salt could take a careful shot at your dome and kill you, its to prevent meta cheese to access late game areas too early, sure some other accesses exists, but the fact you can stack so much phys and rad resistances thru gear and artifacts and spamming healing items you could literally go about anywhere, without those instakill blockers, so no matter what you are going to meet a boundary.
such bulldoo
@maiden grotto The fact you found the boundary doesnt mean its stupid, it just means its there for a very good reason
Other games would just erect a huge wall there or just do invisible walls instead that just block you from walking further
If youre losing your mind trying to force yourself thru that barrier, all it means is youre... ehhh
Well, leave up to interpretation
also my friends, remember, "im up—he sees me—im down" — the developers hav acquired sentiment from genuine soldiers. this is not an arcade shooter imho. take it wiv serious faculty. steady your caution and admire your step most cautious. the zone is a perfidious mistress. exercise extreme cautious. thats just how it is =p
In the books the stalkers truly had to dodge sniper nests, be glad we dont have it here
Book*
What like shooting through solid walls?
I don't mind boundaries.... There is a solid wall you can't jump over, but just cut out the fecking BS
Havent seen any walls that i get shot tru at, no idea what youre talking about, i never met any boundaries except in pripyat where theyre somwhat more blurred
you too can also shoot thru walls =3
Youre clearly just trying to push the game where it doesnt want you and you find ways to complain about it
OG games too had areas that required some legwork and even wetwork to do to access, so it is in this
youv read the books ? iv not been afforded the opportunity sadly
Only the Roadside picnic, you can get it off of amazon for few dollarinos, its worth the read,
yoss iv read roadside picnic, is among my favourite reads. im also aware of the other books
verb eludes my sudden articulation as of rn [iam durnk] =3
I love that book, its pretty simple and light read but also very heavy at the same time, I ||hate Red with a passion|| after learning the ending (book spoiler)
It has an amazing ending
yea.........prettie fukt./ i fink maybe here it wasnt his fault ? i maybe misremembering it for its astonishing ending lole
such romantic grandeur
He ||sacrificed the guy he brought with him into the zone, because he knew that he wouldnt pass the certain anomaly without someone else going thru it first or something, its been a while, but yeah hes pretty much murdering a person for the chance of saving his daughter from turning into a monkey, by making a wish by the Golden Sphere|| (more book spoilers)
So your running south from the north part of the Druga walls, litterally up against the wall, and then you suddenly fall over. I am out exploring, I went around the back up the north end and it's all sealed apart from one spot with a polti on top... So I skirted along the solid wall to head south... then all of a sudden I started falling over dead, because the BS snipers in the towers can aim through walls
Is this pre duga mission?
Do you really think, a fortified wall, with plenty of sniper nests, would let you just casually stroll by even if it was Monolith? Common sense is a thing and it should be employed more often
You're going to have a bad time if it is. You're best exploring Duga post mission where it's accessible in its entirety
As long as they can see you... But they can't The wall is like 10 foot high and solid with no gaps until you get firther south
Roggatron youve been complaining about the most obvious things that arent really problems at all in this game for like days now, do you seriously think this is the game for you?
And people are being nobs with him for no reason instead of giving easy answersn
Honest answers only please
Sorry for not accepting BS
Yeah and keep complaining about the things that run entirely contrary to the game design, or get a new hobby, i dont care, im just tired at seeing the same guy complaining about the game all the time
Or just stop thinking you're above someone with an abhorrent attitude.
Save Duga for after the mission. No one shot snipers after that Rogg
If youre not having fun why play it in the first place, seems like you hate the game
Theres a whole cavalcade of games catering to any need why pick this and complain in every breath
You also don't need to comment on everybody who chats in here so maybe just stop being a nob and let him ask, vent or whatever he pleases. This is a public server
Trying to bully someone into submission is a horrible trait
Yeah its a public server and im just getting tired of people complaining and whining about how the game sucks but they still keep playing and complaining in the same breath day on day out
U can like a game and not like everything about it
I'm getting tired of your attitude but here we are lol, do your thing @maiden grotto and pay no mind
And you can also not make every opinion to be in everyone elses face all the time, meaning the ones who complain
Well, I heard there was a mission that you can only do before the SIRCA things, so I is going looking for it and exploreing the game, to see what it is like, before it all go t*ts up.
Seeing as it is an open world map, why the hell not?
Is it from within Duga you're being sniped or from outside?
I mean idek what u guys are talking ab but if ur in a server dedicated to conversation about a specific game then there’s obviously gonna be some complaining. It’s not just gonna be a massive circle jerk 24/7
Seeing this guy complain the 5th time about instakill barriers and hes stil ltrying to push their limits knowing its not gonna result into anything is just hilarious
But also tiresome when sustained...
Let’s be real it’s impossible to know what’s intentional and what’s a glitch in stalk tuah
From within, there is literally nothing outside.... apart from friendlies and snorks here and there
Naw its pretty clear where the mission objectives are i had no issue navigating around the Duga barrier
Give me a sec
I haven’t touched the game since I got to duga bc I hit a game breaking glitch where the next objective won’t start so if you leave the area u get insta sniped and ur just locked in the area so like
THAT IS IT [roadside picnic ending spoilers]
It was such an amazing twist holy crap
The intenetion is exploring, and to avoid snipers you stay in cover, the best cover is a 10 foot solid wall, and you hug it very tight... I mean, it was a piddly mesh fence with that I could be see a mile off....
Or not have an entire wood to see through....
then yeah, I would be giving a million miles.
But nah, insta-death BS, just because.
For everyone else who havent read Roadside Picnic, i wholly recommend, light read, done in two evenings easily
guys, is there any ways to stop the insane memory leak in Rostok?
Wait for an update I am affraid, they are working on teh game, and it will take time, but that is all you can do.
As far as I am aware.
Not as far as i know, only place my game crashes at, so i try to avoid it
I mean to be fair, (Roadside Picnic spoilers) || Vulture's son isn't just a guy, but a perfect child he wished up. Along with that he BEGGED Red to go into the zone with him on that trip. Not even mentioning that yes Red didn't stop him from running into the anomaly, but Arthur DID strip as he skipped to the orb? Not much like someone who wants to keep their skin in the zone and that's not even mentioning that Red saved him from that fire anomaly without even thinking. Only after he had saved Arthur did he start thinking in his head how he was a key to unlock the path to the golden sphere. ||
Might listen to the audio book, whilst cooking at some point...
Oh man i need to re-read that thing again, ive forgotten just about all this, except the big twist at the end
@maiden grotto Are you using the Southmost road and entering via the east entrance/wall?
It's going to be difficult but quicksaves and trial/error + use of interactive map to get to the grocery store are going to be pivotal
It is doable because people on reddit are saying they've managed it, but it will be difficult. It's locked after the assault on duga mission, not sircca
Lucky i have a copy of it in the shelf right there :)
Im sure if i read it now its going to give me a whole new perspective and context than when i read it in my teens
Can someone help me out here I’m in the red forest near the bridge to limansk how do I get across the bridge??
It's so good, I've read it maybe three or four times now. Definitely worth the extra reads to pick up on things you missed before, or just to see if you have any new ideas from the same passage you read before!! (I also have it on my shelf next to me :D)
Lymansk is inaccessible
Okay I just know on the world map there is the beryl 5m armor suit over there was trying to figure out how to get to it
When Red was mentioned in the context of the game (the dude who saves you from the death truck in SoC) i thought it was the same guy, but he would have to be in Canada, and its aliens, but its probably just a fun callback to the book
Man, imagine if the game was more like the book, itd be the Goldsphere mod right ?
That was my plan... I originals went do the back of it and ended up at Crystall SCS site with the polti... Had a look around there and you can run up along the wall they don't shoot at you... So I followed the wall round to go south and enter through the southern most point as everything else was blocked off.
Then as I started heading south along the wall, I fell over dead... So the barrier is only along part of the wall....
Saw someone play it and it was so fascinating
Best bet I'd say look to see if there's a video on YT where you can follow a specific route. I missed that side mission and need to give it a go during my 2nd playthrough so I'll have the same issue soon lol
If someone did what the Goldsphere mod does but as a AAA game, man, what potential
insane
go through the south entrance, it's still the only way in.
You are fine up against the wall until just south the man hole for the later mission with a bed in it... Then after that point, you just start falling over for no reason.
It really makes no sense how it is implemented as for vast chunks of the wall, your fine, then other bits your insta dead
There are friendlies and bandits wandering the place
roadside picnic spoiler ||an amazing TWIST forrel brotha||
my favorite part is when he says "this ain't no roadside picnic"
So any news on the next update for Stalker 2?
ya, that there isnt one yet
What is this, some suicide squad?
None yet, just gonna have to wait for it... Would rather have them take their sweet time and get it right, rather than rushing it and making a mess elsewhere.
Funny how Wolf doesnt censor the word suicide
And I think I have found that mission. Well I found one, from Sledgehammer about missing people. Is this available after SIRCAA?
He is very particular about the f'cks and 'sses though
Wolf is a weird one. Think he has been controller blasted one too many times.
If I killed the snork with a collar on it and didn't loot the collar, will the body have just...despawned?
I had to block him he dips into my DMs way too often
Maybe something a moderator can look into because the bot is seriously spamming everyone´s DMs unless you block him
With level ups, its effing stupid
He's a stalker XD
But he also told us hes no shepard to this flock... while hes being the shepard to this flock...
It's an oxymoron alright
Bluntest of tools cuts the sharpest
I do hobby crafts a lot with WH40k and yeah a blunt tool has cut me more often than a sharp one
Think its because you know the one is blunt and the other is sharp, thats when it gets ya
Grwew up playing 40k... I was on the gravey train back in 1988 when rogue trader came out.
Is the ward always hostile towards you at the factory area?
I first started collecting the Lotr table top miniatures back when the movies came out, i wish i still had all those miniatures, i found some but not all, ill have to repaint them at some point mostly all has worn off from time
If you go against them then yeah'
I never shot the ward tho
But plenty choices in story to join them or not, how far in are you?
however I didn't give them richter info in zalyssa. And at the mission where I need to go to the detention center. Note I have not done anything with the ward just yet
I'm guessing when they are roaming they are not hostiile but if you enter their factory base, they will shoot on sight cuz its their territory regardless if you are "neutral"?
If youve pissed them off by accident you should get a mission update in journal something like " The Ward thinks im the boogie man", otherwise i dont know
But you should be able to finish the game without being friendly with them at all, but sucks if you miss choices
I think those choices still come at you because theyre scripted
yeah not sure what happened. note I'm talking about htis area https://imgur.com/a/RlTJWYn right to the left of the detention center quest
OHHHH thats a Ward Base, they dont want anyone in there, youre on a Spark mission right?
Isnt that the entrance to x-18?
oh shoot on sight I see. No was just wandering by and saw a bunch of wards over there and thought I was cool with them since I was nuetral. apparently not. Was just going around exploring areas that had a question mark
Yeah and I remember the game telling you if you pissed off a neutral faction too. I've done it many times on a test playtrhough as zalyssa when shooting at ward and loners
They are things of beauty. I actually had some of paintings in GW's window a few times that I did for people. I love it, I love the lore, just hope they don't ruin it like everything elese.
anyone know what aruba is
What are those weird big ass bubbles that float? Are they dangerous?
You know what im talking about right?
I fear its inevitable :( although they did fallback on the female custodians just recently
Yes. If you shoot them, you make things worse. They wont kill you outright, but they will do damage.
Or was it rumors? im so tired of following media news its mostly trash
Good. The thing is, everyone loved it for what it was, the only people that complained where those that want everything to be about them and most of the time, they don;t even play the damn things.
Theyre a balancing thing, if they completely block you way, its better to shoot or throw bolt first, the entire bubble deals only a certain amount of damage, if you hit the big bubble you take alll the damage, if you hit small bubbles you take only little damage
you can pop them and take none, but its a waste of ammo though
It was a nice funny touch seeing the Laundromat being taken over by the soap bubble anomalies, becaus you know, they wash clothes there
And most soap is alkaline, kinda dangerous for your skin if its the laundry type
That came out of nowhere
The ladder that leads to Pripyat underground has collapsed and blocked.
Yea i understand, the entrance from Jupiter underground to Laundromat
I wanted to see it too, didnt really even think of looking for it hah
But there's no Jupiter in S2
X-8 wouldve been nice too, but theres a lot of reasons why the old X installations are blocked off, like Miracle Machine and Brain Scorcher, to prevent any accidental startups
Or just not relevant to story and better invested budget elsewhere
Feels weird looking at old Stalker maps then compare them to S2. I know S2 maps are made based on real life Chernobyl exclusion zone.
It kind of gives this dreamlike surreal feeling, where things look familiar but wholly different
How Cement Factory is part of Jupiter but it's far from Yaniv station now.
They also merged Dark Valley with Garbage.
And how Jupiter is mostly in Red Forest, think i can also see the curve of Darkscape there under the clouds leading up to the swamps from Cordon , that used to be the dark valley entrance thru there
I got headache the moment I entered Garbage for the first time. Something feels off but I can't grasp it.
I should really explore the zone now.
Yeah its all jumbled up but at the same time recognizable
Well I became a fool and died to radiation trying to go to the doctor coordinates
Go through the river.
Path is right beside the bridge.
Im at that giant bubble where you get rads
Go to the bridge, follow the path from there.
I both love and hate the new red forest, its incredibly beautiful, reminds me of lapland in autumn season, but so spooky, too many casual Psi fields making you go mad
I see... So it was red forest that bricked my 2nd playthrough. I got hit by psi effect and for some reason it was permanent.
I had to remove it with UEtools but after that, cutscene when meeting Scar for the first time won't run.
Ohhh, i had a permanent thing happen too but on a reload it went away
Dear god, i had to use UE5 tools to get the Sawmill scene work out
Trying to sell 200 hours of collected red gear in rostock, so far 10 crashes in 30 minutes. So many items overlap in the stash, not sure why they are like that.
Rostok for me crashes constantly when im in inventory screens, so i save often and avoid that place like the plague
The trader in Rostok accepts red gears?
Yup. Ragman
yeah but for all the runtime I avoided Rostock until the main quest took me there and collected red guns everywhere. I was waiting for this moment, I must sell all the red guns. Inventory is glitching all over the place too.
m... maybe you just collected too much
For me money hasnt been an issue i only take best guns in yellow condition and sell ammo stacks past the one collected
At the end i had like 500k nothing to spend it on
Id love to be able to make your own hideout and buy furniture for it or something dunno, but something else that isnt directly tied down to what yo udo in the open world and something to invest money into
Best moments in Anomaly and Gamma were those when i made my own hideouts in places i shouldnt have, like in the tower over Yaniv, i made a base there , then a controller spanwed nearby and aggroed on me, didint know he aggroed but all i could hear was Psi nonsense that was all the time creeping closer and closer and all i wanted to do was hide and disappear, until the controller came up too close and my guy ate the barrel of his gun
Scariest stuff ive ever been thru in a game
yeah probabléy a good strategy, i just wanted to see how much i can hoard. Did not know that inventory starts glitching out after a certain number of items. Anyways, another crash
I can do one run to Ragman, next time I open the stash the game crashes to desktop immediately
Damn, as of now id avoid the place, its not like it has much to offer apart from bread and circuses (literally)
I was expecting a lot more side activity in such a huge hub area but now im glad there next to none, less crashes for me
There really should be some side mission where you play politics with Ragman and Eugene, in some form, they mention it a lot but its not really a thing
What does the weird pot actually do?
slower your thirst and hunger (basically useless)
if you eat/drink there's a chance you get a psi attack
I didn't even know you get thirsty
You dont
Sounds like some dump stat that might well be left there for future mechanics maybe
Those water bottles are 100% useless really
More stamina from energy drinks and enough food to go around to compensate
yeah, game has surprisingly little side content. Especially if half the bartenders bug out and stop offering you the basic quests
Energy drinks should be a long lasting buff theyre stupid in their implementation, the amount of time you take to sip one you gain most stamina back anyways
And more rare
but yeah, i will sell my red gear and leave Rostok for the time being
damn memory leaking into oblivion again
combine stamina regen upgrade from armor + thunderberry + drinking water = when you run, you gain stamina for 5 seconds
Or 3 Thunderberries
They do stack up but i notice theyre mostly useless past 3 used at the same time
is there any point in visiting the kindergarten cuz it seemed like every monolith in the zone was there and it seemed strange that there was no reward
Or that its more worth having stuff like Compass there instead of 4 thunderberries lol
Also what does the Heart of Chernobyl do, it tells you a lot but explains very little
thunderberry max stack is 2... above that, you gain nothing
Nope, this isnt true, i tried and tested it a lot of times, the third one does a huge amount
well, there are also many other people who tested that (myself included) and it only reach max 2 thunderberries.
I haven't seen people use datamine source code to debunk this
Even with 4 and 5 thunderberries, they lose usefulness past the third
What can i say, other than youre wrong, i can ofc go and take video, maybe ill do just that
Although discord doesnt allow for video size, you have to compress it down so much, have to find a way
i tested it before but love to be proven wrong, i have more than 4 thunderberries and it just sitting there doing nothing
yea dunno, 2 does already a lot, its kinda hard to test without some editing software
To see how the stamina bar actually refreshes
Could be just placebo too and im just wrong
a life fixed yet?
No one here knows more than what announcements, news and patch notes tell you
Just waiting for the game to be fixed before buying
Id give it a couple months, its not going anywhere
You can follow their updates thru the steam page, all their updates will be visible there
Everything else is just rumors
I love my Ram-2. I hear a sound, I start blasting, a dead bloodsucker appears before me.
Its great! cool looking gun and fits in the Zone, too bad the Saiga magdump beats it still
Not much can chew through buckshot like the Ram-2. Yeah, probably, but I just...like the Ram-2 better.
I want to like the Ram-2 better, its the cool option in my opinion, maybe if shotguns were all over more powerful, so you dont need to magdump enemies
Eh, the bloodsucker only took like, 3 buckshots to go splat. Then again I'm playing on easy because it's my first run and I wanted it to be...easy, so I could get a laid back run through the story.
Just that nothing kills a sucker better than a quick side step and emptying the entire magazinge to your very right where they usually hit
Or maybe its because im always side stepping to the left, its a pattern
People blow over how nasty they are all you literally have to do is walk sideways and majority of their attacks will miss
Unless its two
You try out the underbarrel shotgun? It's got a real kick to it, and by a real kick I mean the recoil is insane.
Not worth it, the amount of time it takes you to switch you couldve switched over to a Saiga or something else
The underbarrel shotgun´s idea is that you have your supporting arm, ready on the trigger, you can fire it as soon as you want, but the game doesnt work that way
It would be better if there were a dedicated button to just fire the underbarrel weapon. UGL or UGS.
So its 100% pointless, all youre doing is adding extra weight unfortunately
Yea thats what i meant by having your finger ready on the trigger, should be an instant pull
Say, short of exos, which armor do you tend to wear out and about?
The Falcon, from Malachite, easy early get
Huh. People talk about that. I haven't got one.
Yea you need to do some parkour for it
I'm wearing the fashionable SSP-100 right now, swapped the Bulat out for it. I'll toss on a compass and hypercube to shore up physical defenses and stop myself from bleeding when shot.
Its a very nice suit for artifact hunting and psi fields
...repairs tend to be on the expensive side, but I loot enough to make up for it and then some.
Plus I like how it looks. Hmmm.
yea i always preferred the Seva suits but some of the exos also speak to me.. monolith ones especially
I just love the monolith Camo, it look so cool
I'm thinking about swapping my gun out again, maybe. I'm running with Valik Lummox's AKS-74M right now. I got a Corundum suit from you know where, but I'm pretty sure that's not an exo.
I've been hoarding armor variants in my stash. I like to keep a collection, a gun/armor library.
Corundum suit is great i ran it most of my playthru before i found the falcon
What's really great though is the examine artifact feature, even if it's a beacon for wild dogs to come poke you.
Yeah and they all look so unique and cool too, its really rewarding to go see what new pops up, especially how all the anomaly fields are a bit more friendly than in previous games where nearly all of them dealt flat damage to you per second when you were inside no matter what
Theyre now mostly a gimmick game and its nice
Softlocked at Dvupalov trying to give him the blueprint, any ideas?
I had that too, I just ended up going and doing something else for a while, then getting a guide to take me someplace far. Yaniv, in my case, and then I slept and went back and managed to get him to talk.
Tried exactly that, Yaniv, sleeping and everything to no success
Could there be a console command you can do to advance the quest?
That sucks hard btw, i hope you get thru it
You can do it with UE tools stuff but I want to try every other option before resorting to that since its not a perfect fix and requires more console commands down the road
I used UE5 tools to fix the Sawmill bug, it shouldnt really affect more than what you do with it
I'm tearing my hair out at this since things have been going great so far and I'm invested but whats the point if the main story is softlocked
I recommend the UE5 tools, usually these things happen because of missing a trigger to make a thing happen, they shouldnt in anyway affect further missions
Its still better than just saying its softlocked and giving up
When you went back in, how did you go?
What you mean?
I think you might have to really book it into that room. I really do keep forgetting about slowmode.
Huh?
I full sent it and jumped also so I landed right in front of him. Tried the mashing F trick once the dialogue ends but didn't work
