I dont know what to tell you, you must be playing it wrong if you have that big issues. Even on veteran the economy isnt that punishing. Just bring a shotgun for anything close up, loot all ammo and stash it, switch to different stashed weapon if you run out of an ammo type. You should be perfectly fine on shotgun ammop always from just looting. Never shoot mutants withy anything but shotguns, the rhino (or snipers from far away)

Im almost at the end of an no shotgun run on veteran and its much more punishing as mutants costs you thousands in ammo, but doable. Especially with the rhino revolver

🤷 i manage to build up like 30k roubles and then i have to blow it all on $17k for my seva, $7k for my AK, and ~$6k for my shotgun, and then using the remainder on ammo because even with straight headshots i still run into an ammo deficit since you only pick up like 2 or 3 rounds from unloading downed enemy guns

I liked hardcore ranger. short t2k made the gameplay less COD like and much more tactical and methodical - as old Ghost Recon fan this is what I like. (even made damage mod for stalker shoc, that boosts damage of all weapons by like 60% and playing that on master chefs kiss untill your save game breaks in NPP and you get insta murdered the moment you load back by all the NPCs whom now and forever know where you are and laser aim at you from every possible location xD

I have not yet tested slugs in stalker, it doesnt make sense for me, like the scattered pellets are nice for pestering and compensation for poor aim. Might as well use a sniper instead of slug?

well normally i would probably agree but the thing is that Shotguns can do follow up shots faster than a sniper can, and this was about a gun that is mounted onto an Assault Rifle. it's not a full shotgun but it's a shotgun you can get without bringing a regular shotgun.

Buckshot loses a little damage like 8%. then it's being split into each pellet and then it also loses 8% penetration.
Slugs lose 28% damage but gains 50% armor penetration, leading to more damage done to armored enemies. and while you might think a sniper being better for a single shot, the thing is that almost all shotguns hit for 140 before downsides. some of them 150-160 and one for 180. that means that it shooting a slug still makes it do more damage than almost all the "snipers" like the SVD does 70, the SVU 80, MK1 only 55.

Clusterfuck breaks quickly. like you only get 600 shots from 100% to 0. and it also takes a good bit of condition loss on damage. however it is worth noting that it's strong really strong for shooting 556. it's very good against humans

Dnipro with the 7.62 conversion can barely burn trough 300 shots before its severely damaged. While anecdotal, it feels significantly worse than pre conversion

I'd say conversion would be worth it still, as 1721 shots at 29 damage per is more total damage output than 1807 shots at 23 damage.

Only change I would want is for the cost of installed upgrades not to be factored in for repair costs. That would make fully upgrading armors and weapons more feasible for the mostly small bonuses the upgrades often add.

Repairs are cheaper where you have good reputation, so it's not limited to certain locations.

@dense sandal Being a stalker just means the collect artifacts to sell from the Zone. It's not really a group with rules, more like a nickname for a freelance occupation. They don't have to work alone or with groups, as a rule. They can live where ever and befriend whoever. The Loner faction is a loose group of Stalkers who choose not to ally with any specific faction in the Zone.

Found one compass in the gravitational anomaly just north of slag heap, and another in the grav anomaly on wild island. So I know at least those two fields in particular can produce those artifacts. No savescumming required either, just randomly checked the anomaly fields and got compasses out of them.

It's already been discussed as most likely not happening but if the game does get a co-op I hope it's a shared loot system and not one where each player gets their own loot pool. It'll be more realistic and imo much more fun to have to strategise and work out splitting looted ammo and gear.

what i mean is not to fix economy, for me economy is fine, its the feeling what i am talking about, the feeling of opening a hidden stash is underwhelming as hell, 99% of every stash i found, even the most well hidden and trickier to find , all have 2 bread, 2 sausage, 1 vodka, 10x 9x18 bullets its the feeling of finding complete trash thats really awful in a emotional level.

The game runs so much smoother. I’m on Xbox and it’s a fairly decent 60 with vrr. Visuals are also really nice with shimmering cleaned up there was a bad bug about it. Before it was beyond choppy.

It’s not a super locked doom or cod 60 but still very good. I’m guessing 50-60 which with vrr is nice

There is a bit of a stutter problem where it dips I’m guessing to like 45. Worst is when turning a corner or in gunfights

Never having texture popin and tons of ultra realistic foliage that looks great at all distances is definitely a huge aspect to the game.

The lumen illumination as well. It all makes the game atmosphere super well. Do wish it was ue 5.4 which is a lot more performant than I think their using ue 5.1 about 90% sure maybe ue 5.2.

its not really cpu expensive to have a proper alife system, in reality a proper alife system would be less performance taxing than the current version of the game, for this reasons... having 1 npc in online mode is way more expensive gpu and cpu wise than 20 npc in offline mode.
For this reason, a alife mode like stalker 1 in stalker 2 would have more things happening in offline than in online , so the cpu would have a rest instead of the battlefield that is in 1.1.3 , dont get me wrong the current version of the game is better than 1.0 but there is so much war happening every minute it honestly immersion breaking and also takes a toll on the cpu

Its possible, it needs NPC running in a performance friendly offline mode more than online mode, putting npc in the background unrender , keeping them alive from faraway just by making cpu calls every 40 seconds.

Do you have vsync turned on? i had the same issue back when S2 launched - my 3060 was hitting close to 100% utilization and was causing bad stuttering when it did. I ended up forcing gsync through nvidia control panel, disabling it in-game and then adding an fps limit in-game

Its been fixed now for me since the last two patches dropped, however.

Honestly IMO it's not.

It's dependent on yellow gun selling; pushing players towards looting and looking for them rather than focusing on anything else.

Artifacts, which are supposedly the main things that should be driving the ecnonomy are practically nowhere to be seen, and stashes mostly contain tiny amounts of ammo that are used up in and the occasional vodka for the most part; stuff that's fine for finding just put away somewhere, but not in actual stashes that are often placed in out of the way and hard to reach places.

It's really a pretty bad economy IMO. Workable, sure; but still bad.

i hate how i cant sell stuff to random npc's, or from random npc's. like, a-life isnt really that big yet. it could be bigger. npc's hanging around anomalies. catching a random artifact. or having actual loot on them. the deeper you go into the zone, the richer stalkers should be, since they survived up till then. you can only do that if you have decent gear, and some buck to your name

maybe the developer will expand a-life. adding more stuff for npc's to do. the promise of npc's fighting each other over territory isnt exactly visible. right now, the npc's and mutants are just random groups spawned on the map, randomly wandering around, hard coded to simply attack everything hostile. and thats pretty much the end of their code summarized together.

i want to see an actual war between freedom and duty. they say "yea, duty will get whats coming to them!" but you dont actually see groups of freedom leaving to purposefully attack duty positions. which they dont have, cause a-life isnt that advanced yet. or attacking the duty base. which never happens, other than a random group accidentally having duty's base in hteir path.

this is why i think the devs oversold their game. empty promisses. its frustrating to see alot of 'modern devs' treating their game like a no man sky. thinking they can make every game like a no man sky. yea, we just release a beta, and then expand on it. gaming shouldnt have turned into this soulless hobby man

The one other potential solution is going to the place where you originally triggered the psi effect and then leaving, but I didn't try that. Everything else I tried didn't work. Sleeping, reloading, dying, etc

Yeah I wasn't able to pinpoint where it started, either. Unless you have max psi protection you're gonna run out of psi block and it's gonna be a huge pain in the ass. I say load a save before you started taking psi damage, you can make it back to where you are much quicker than you think but it's extremely demoralizing

Ideal weapons are the Rhino, Kharod and Saiga 12 imo. Keep a spare 7.62x54R or .308 rifle, a VSS/AS VAL for swag purposes (also good pen, good backup weapon) and buket S-2 because... I like the buket idk

@stark fossil I think if they did the LODs properly it should be okay. The NPCs are already persistent, like you can run after them when they disappear out of range and they'll come back. I can't imagine rendering them would be that much more taxing if they're optimized properly

Also, I think the cooling tower fire tornado at night is the perfect place to show off how good an OLED display is lol. I've had my OLED for four months and my jaw dropped looking at how gorgeous that anomaly is in HDR

A lot of NPCs died in Duty's camp. I tried to save them by reloading saves but they just kept dying to the emission

the mod page has specific uninstall instructions, if you follow those you are ok. or just reinstall the latest version and see if that fixes it. if you had none in your inventory or stash or traders you should be ok

if you havent updated mutant loot for latest patch could be that too. but im using the descriptive ammo boxes and mutant loot with no issues. i think this patch did introduce some general inventory crash

so even after removing mods, game crash in stash .. i moved everything from stash to inventory, it doesnt crash when im in inventory, it crash only in stash, and only if i mouseover on ammoo

yep.. seems like it .. removed all mods and havent mouseover on ammoo, nothing crashed the game until i scrolled up to ammoo and mouseover on one of stacks, seems too much ammoo in either inventory or stash cause this, which is stupid since you need a lot of ammoo for fights and some ammoo are not purchasable from vendors

I have the cutscene bug on my game, xbox gamepass pc, tried to verify integrity of game files and deleting my mods but not resolved.
On cutscenes displays are all white, like the one on the dangerous liaisons
Did anyone face with this bug, does it fix when the game is reinstalled. All the time after cutscenes I am watcing the same cutscene via youtube
