Stalker 2? Do what you wish, probably beat it without mods first. But I was talking about Anomaly - gamma or EFP.. The gameplay depth there makes S2 look like Jazz the jackrabbit game
Anomaly and GAMMA are awesome good fun. They aren't peak stalker experience, but have a different aim. Doesn't mean they aren't great mods.
so when the actual hell is the full fix for deadzones coming? i had to move my Xbox to my PC desk and it cut me off from my PC for a while cause hooking up my xbox and unhooking my PC with my set up is a pain, i just wanna sit on my couch and enjoy STALKER 2 with my gamepad but i cant fkin do that cause its busted ATM... Sure if you’re after a good story mode - play S2. If you’re more interested in meaningful progression and mechanics - play modded Anomaly. Also alife will be an awesome experience if you haven’t had it yet

Eg. You have a 50 round AR, needs about a full mag to kill a bloodsucker. A SG could do it in 4-5 shots

i dont know what other people do but i like having 2 automatic rifles different calibers, and a shotgun for mutants with slug. Maybe if i can carry more artifacts i would carry 2 automatics 1 shotgun and a sniper
I mean, that would imply that carrying a shotgun is the better method, which I agree with. I think I jsut misunderstood what his question and your reply meant. I took it to be a recommendation NOT to carry one, and I would argue everyone should carry atleast a Rhino shotgun

Under barrel SG is also available guys. If you wanna rock an M700 and an SMG - you can attach the UBSG on the M700. It’s a 5 shot semi auto shot gun

Given there is only 1 size of shotgun shell in S2, I understand why they don't have it this way, but the Rhino would have to use 410 shotgun shells to look even remotely like it does with the shotgun conversion applied.

I believe that refers to the speed with which you can swap to that weapon. Like the SVD2 has super slow draw speed.

Depends on what weapon, but if you're firing semiauto, flatness is winner. If you're mag dumping, then slowing spread.

Honestly depending what build either can work I used the dnipro like a DMR so I went for flatness but automatic also works wonders due to low recoils
I wouldn't recommend mag dumping anything but maybe a shotgun, so if you're using semi auto or controlled bursts, I personally would choose flatness.

Endgame, against hordes of CQC exo skeletons, just mag-dumping can be a valid tactic.
Oh I'm not saying it's never valid, but as a routine strategy I would say it's inefficient, expensive, and wasteful of ammunition. But if you're caught point blank with a big bad guy, a mag dump could save your life. Might not though, and it rapidly damages your weapon and eats ammo 😛
When generally roaming the world, aimed, single headshots are absolutely the optimal strategy!
Regrettably GSC mentioned in an interview that they have no plans for implementing a coop mode for Stalker 2. There has been no more recent announcement that would seem to contradict that response. I wish they would, too.

Co-op isn't really something you can add once the game is released. Every single element of the game needs to be designed with co-op in mind for it to work. They'd basically have to recreate the entire game from scratch to add co-op at this point.
it does not have to include the story or any parts of it but it could be something instanced seperately from the single player and just be on the same map with maybe couple other activities to do or such
Everything from quests, to how mutants and npc act, the whole AI and "A-life" thing, how time passes, everything needs to be changed to take more than one player into consideration. It is a HUGE undertaking.

Please go do this yourself and see! Doing anything with fine motor skills with adrenaline in your bloodstream, let alone while flat out sprinting at top speed, perhaps while bleeding or with injuries, is exceptionally difficult. Ask a combat vet!
they make regen faster, the fastest regen is by not moving or press the walk toggle while moving, so u constantly swap sprint>walk>sprint>walk

Artifacts, once you have the ones you want, may also be a decent way.
@stark fossil they're taking up positions awfully well for randos; pretty much manning the checkpoint.
You can stash like 20 of said items, keep 5/5 meds/bandages on you when heading out cause you’ll be coming back with 50+ of each. Also fetch artifact quests have decent reward money. So might wanna keep every artifact you find

Then you must be a more talented rifleman than a lot of professional soldiers, bc this exact topic is a known challenge for deployed military service members. Reloading a long gun while running, especially sprinting, is dangerous for many reasons. It takes your focus away from terrain navigation which can make you an easier target or make you slow down to process two tasks at once, not to mention the fine motor skills compromising that adrenaline causes. It's not parkinsons, it's human physiology. This is readily available and documented science, as adrenaline is a big part of the combat experience. Managing its effects is an integral part of military training.
Which is all just a long way to say that sprinting and reloading is highly impractical and unrealistic.

It's individual. Some folks don't get the bugged missions. As for the Zalissya defense bug, the stopping point would be the mission that sends you to go inside SIRCAA. Once you do that, it's a straight sequence to that stage of the game, about 1/2 way through.
I've been fortunate so far. Haven't had any bugged missions. Or rather not bugged to the point they're incompletable

I wasn’t man my friend has an AK and a hunting rifle so I was playing around with them. But I did try to run and reload and with AK you just flip the old mag with the new one and slide it in. It’s not that difficult really. I suppose it would be for a proper reload - new mag out old mag in the rig..

You are continuing to ignore my repeated reference to the effects of adrenaline and potential injuries in combat. You don't understand the challenges facing someone trying to do what you suggest in real life. It's not your fault if you have no experience with combat, but take my word for it. It's not realistic.
reloading while running irl will slow you down, may make you trip or drop mag. reloading requires focus. running on uneven ground requires focus, sprinting requires focus. you cant do all 3.

as an experiment, go to an open field. or woods. sprint like someone is trying to kill you while trying to replace batteries in remote, or changing cartridge in ds/gameboy. remember, focusing on your hands means you arent focusing on going as fast as possible or not tripping. this means focusing on your hands increases your chances of messing up without much benefit.

Personally I would have prefer if you had to run around to evade mutants than hopping on a high box to reload in peace but that’s just me

imo, everything in this game is way too tanky. bloodsuckers and poltergeists should be 1-2 shotabble with shotguns. they are ambush predators, not tanks. same with most other things, by the time you get to your 15th pump shotgunshell, the fight against giant isnt scary, just boring...

That's a common sentiment regarding Bloodsuckers. I agree with you that unarmored things made of flesh should be more vulnerable to bullets and buckshot. I imagine that the math of damage is harder to balance than we might suspect (especially across multiple difficulties) if this is the resulting experience. I could be misremembering, but I believe I saw a GSC question answer in this discord that stated they were going to work on balancing weapon damages. @hoary crest might have more info than me.

i may be weird, but coming at it from an evolutionary perspective, it makes no sense for bloodsuckers or poltergeists to be tanky and stealthy. if evolution lets you avoid damage (invis) why would you also be evolving towards tough skin. once you get one, you stop at the other.
i dont think they should change their damage profiles between difficulties, i think their speed & detection radius should change. like on low difficulties, you can walk near them to get a decent shot and oneshot before they see you. on high difficulties, must stealth really well, but can do same...
You can actually sneak up on poltergeists - just like in anomaly (except the first one which is scripted to know you’re there) Others you can walk pass by
you can sneak up to the upstairs window of teh boat on the first poltergeist.

Regarding GSC's balancing decisions? I do not. Only mods to fix that. Moreover, I don't think the approach I find tolerable for balancing is something the company would even consider as it would probably alienate a good portion of the newer fans
dont we know for a fact some other games endings are cannon? like SOC cannon is decline offer? clear sky is taht strelok is incapacitated cuz otherwise scar dies? and we know some of the cannon endings of call of pripyat like whaty happens to the boat... we will probably find out which endings now are cannon if we ever get a sequel

You've got it right from the evolutionary perspective, at least by my opinion. To my knowledge it is not expressly explained in the lore where Bloodsuckers (or most mutants) come from, but it is generally theorized that radiation damage and DNA degradation has led to their creation. If that's the case, thicker skin or resilient anatomies can arise as an unintended consequence of the genetic alterations/mutations that led to their rise in the first place, as the Zone is an exceptionally harsh place to survive without technology or human intelligence. Now, if the bloodsuckers were created in a lab, then all bets are off on the logical evolution of the species, of course. Personally I don't think it matters if they evolved from mutations or were lab grown, bc the lore itself states things like Bloodsuckers don't appear to have skulls due to skin flaking off and exposing brain matter, as well as they suffer from necrotizing flesh, so any resilience to bullets and buckshot is purely a game mechanic, not a story point.
i just like to think the bloodsuckers are a failed experiment from someone that played too much halo 😂
we can also compare to older games for other examples of bloodsucker durability... also i thought it was confirmed that they are made in labs as bio weapons or smthing
I read that they are influenced by Cthulhu fiction and possibly D&D and Fallout, but I don't have a solid source to confirm that.
Its a hard pill to swallow that they can have skin resiliant to buckshot and intermediate rifle rounds, no matter how well engineered they are. They don't have exoskeletons, and even the thickest skinned animals don't tank big rounds, we're also talking about huge creatures that take big-bore rounds to drop, not something with the rough dimensions of a man.
I get that they wanted them to be hard to kill, but I can't help but feel having them be capable of dodging shots instead of being tanky would have been a better approach

agreed. but i also think that headshots should kill controllers and burers and everything else way quicker. a shotgun slug should go thru the skul... i burnt like 60% durability on my pump shotgun because i had to use slugs long range to kill a burer
You on PC? Download Fubar if you want guns to feel like guns, is on Nexus. Its not perfect, but its better than vanilla, don't wimp out an make sure you download the 1:1 damage file

That is fair to say. Like I mentioned above, it is my opinion unarmored flesh should be more affected by bullets and buckshot. I'm just trying to explore any alternative explanation angles, though its thin. At the end of the day, ALL of it is dev math choices. They set the values for all game variables.
I use that yeah, not many, but yeah a few. Mutant Loot is good if you have economy changes to make the game a bit harder, else you'll end up more minted than you ever need to be an it kinda makes the economy a joke

ngl, i give devs lots of slack here, the game is mostly playable and they will figure out the balancing soon enough. as long as they keep their promise and actually finish the game with stuff like a life to make monster encounters less abt them spawning on top of you...

humans with armor = armor
mutants = health
mutants with armor = armor
simple as. your choice which is which. its impossible to tell imo. it doesnt even matter tho since headshots are always best choice regardless of ammo, so just use cheaper bullets. and mutants are either grouped (meaning you want more bullets and less durability for buckshot) or solo, so you use slugs to kill asap
Personally, I think that the devs should make ammo more abundant, yellow guns pay less, and put a cheapo artifact (or 2) in most stashes and stalkers as the main currency that players actually go looking for and storing.

I would argue the opposite for ammo I wont lie.. Its everywhere and because of that, you have very little need to interact with merchants. It needs toning down some. Agree about artifacts being in stashes tho
How are people having problems with ammo? I have over 18k rounds for guns I’m not using, and as for my Groza the 5.45 is so abundant that I never have to refill from stash or buy

@stark fossil It is possible that many players are not adept at headshots or controlled aiming, especially those without KB+M controls, and so they rely more upon body shots with automatic fire to kill enemies. In that case, I could easily see how ammo would burn fast.
Honestly, I've found the opposite to be true.
Sure, you accumulate a fair bit eventually; but you're always hoarding it because you're never finding enough in the field.
It's also odd AF that stalkers carry like one bullet on their person.
What this does is push the yellow guns (over everything else) as the main sale item in the economy.
More abundant bullets would encourage selling them, and adding in artifacts would shift the focus of the economy onto selling those as opposed to hoarding and selling yellow guns.

Not gonna lie, I think they need to make the general loot access way fckin harder. Bullets should be a precious resource, currently there are so many you'd think you were the only guy who ever looted the Zone. Food, water, bullets, meds, they all need to drop in accesibility a LOT. Currently the game drowns you in loot an it hurts the immersion of the game when the core premise is that the area is harsh and pulls no punches. No point in having survival mechanics if they're half-arsed and superflous for the most part
I'm just speculating, I can't explain it from my personal experience. I loot more ammo than I use.
I can relate to this perspective, due to how frequently I find boxes of ammo and medkits in every room of a building. It's very Fallout-esque, which as a fan of Fallout I don't hate, but your point about overabundance is valid.
Guys you can collect like 20 meds/bandages/vodka/anti rads and sell the rest. When heading out take 5/5/1/1 with ya. I left Zalisya with almost 200k while fully upgraded 4 guns!!
thats fair, but would also have large consequences on the fights in this game. killing monsters wwould be basically impossible. group of 3 boars is minimum 6 shotgun shells. 1 bloodsucker (may even spawn in pairs) is 6 shells alone. i lost count against giants after 10 shells. i dont even bother with rifles, cuz its multiple mags...
Oh don't get me wrong, mutants need a rebalance to fit in with loot scarcity, for sure. But the concept should be that you don't pick fights with every mutant you see. There needs to be a level where they feel fair in resource expenditure if you absolutely have to fight one, but the game should, and to a degree, already does enforce staying the damn hell away from them.
Same should go for humans too, you should'nt always charge headlong into every fight, that should be a careful weighing up of potential loot vs resources spent

The Pseudogiant you encounter in a village as a side quest for the Musician took me something like 30+ shotgun shells from close range. Mind you a lot of them were body hits bc he was facing away half the time, but it's still a lot. I use shotgun Rhino vs mutants and Clusterfack vs Humans

Remember canned food and water was always a premium resource in Stalker. You rosted mutant meat and dealt with rads from it if you didn’t have imported food
Not really, just a harsher version of what we have now. Though it could scale through difficulty for those that don't want thier balls stepped on, but many of us don't play this because we want yet another looter shooter. We want to survive in the Zone, and eventually thrive, not have it all handed to us on a platter by a butler

I am no game developer and I have no education in game design. That said, I think the problem of item economy and plentiful supplies in the wild is made harder by the way you can change difficulties mid run. It would be far more controlled if you could only choose your difficulty when you start the game, and the loot economy and availability of loot in the wild reflected that level of challenge. Like Ranger mode in Metro, I would love for a hardcore experience that isn't just enemies with more HP and DPS, but rather a skill check for ammo conservation, stealth, and clever solo tactics.
I think he means that Bandits shouldn't be firing at you on full auto in every encounter and then only have 3 bullets on them when they're dead. Either they conserve ammo and have very little, or they go balls out and have a huge inventory. For realistic expectations, I mean.
Yeah would've been nice to have this option, I'm sure mods will help in that aspect sooner or later if they haven't already
minimum you carry is food, 1 med, one mag of ammo for gun (assuming you have good spray control). if you kill a bandit, each one should have at least that. so every good fight against a small group of bandits should net you 3 guns (that bandits think are reliable enough to stake their lives on in a fight), 3 sets of half used ammo, 3 sets of food, maybe 1 or 2 sets of meds if some were used.
thats basically quadrupling your loot.
assuming you sell this for like half their buy value, (idk abt this bit) you are getting enough money to buy an additional 1.5 your minimum gear.
so you are doubling your value for your first successfull hunt.
im saying that this would be BAD for the risk reward and bandits would havee to be made much harder (should be harder than a blood sucker)
It would be fine for them to drop one or two mags, IF 95% of the ammo scattered around the world was absent from the equation. One compounds the other too heavily else and we end up in the same situation were you don't need to interact with merchants or worry about resources

Guns are already pretty well balanced in mostly being broken and not very valuable. See above for ammo issue.
Food and meds though? Maybe you get one sausage between the three of them, and meds you basically should'nt get off bandits, at least not more than a bandage every once in a while. Medkits should be reserved for the inventory of enemies that are truly capable of pushing your shit in, and even still, should be rare. Not on what is effectively fodder. You can balance inventory drops very easily under a scarcity system, what you're describing is what we have currently, not what it could be

i dont know if i agree with your analysis of what bandits should have (at least if we want to have a semblance of realism.) there is no way in hell anyone with a sense of selfpreservation is going out to rob someone else (that they know is armed) without out gunning that person. So if the average stalker/loner has an equipment level of 1, there should either be 3 bandits with equipment levels 1 each or one bandit with equipment level 3. otherwise there is no rational sense to risk your life like that. Its like going to threaten your peer with a knife, knowing he has a knife. you wont do that unless you have 2 buddies with you, or a revolver.
so to balance the need for self preservation, the bandits would really have to be a big threat. the player should really consider paying off the bandits for a time. \

Thats the thing about guns, is when balanced properly, they tend to be pretty lethal, when you have three armed guys with even SMG's, they're threatening enough to be able to rob lone stalkers.
Play with Fubar a bit, don't wear an Exo and don't wear phys resist artifacts and see how quickly you get dropped with the 1:1 damage file. Thats how dangerous enemies should feel. That way you can implement these features and have them work properly

Wear something like the PSZ-7 armour, don't go balls to the wall with stupidly OP resistances, and you'll get dropped in one shot sometimes if they hit you in the head @lethal kelp

If you’re leaving Zalisya with less than 100k in your pocket along with all your guns upgraded - you’re doing it wrong. Sell every orange med, bandage, vodka, beer, water and anti rad you have - keep 5 meds on ya, 1 vodka, 1 anti rad and a few waters or energy drinks just so you can reach the next poi faster

For reference I play with the PSZ-7 armour, which is basically the same as the OZK armour and I use Liquid Rock and Thunderberry artifacts, nothing else, an thats to preserve the balance of being able to drop enemies in 1-3 shots, but allow them to do exactly the same to me if I slip up
You will never need them, all resources are plentiful on the spot especially if you haven’t been there yet

This is kinda why the loot system is problematic, there is so much that you never worry about making it back from somewhere and all the risk is basically removed from engaging enemies because you know the next room is gonna give you back more than you used

And I’m finding that my first play through which was about 95% of the whole map deeply explored I am just now seeing things I haven’t been able to find - and perhaps the reason is that some of those things are not even available for the player in vanilla. (Nobody seems to have found a drum mag for the Groza yet by legit means) I have it tho illegally… Who know maybe I find NVGs too this way😝

I am not very sure…Stalker games were instanced - the ai only had to be ran in your current sector and other sectors would have been simulated in the background. Not sure how this is supposed to work on one huge ass map. But I mean, older games figured it out so..

Because until they reach render, they're just a marker, their animations and actions arent simulated until the player enters their "bubble", the game just keeps track of what their position is at any given time. The FPS issues are due to optimization, not the AI. Not to say the actors, when in an active and rendered state arent intensive, because they can be, but in terms of them navigating the map when you arent there, not at all
alife shouldnt be only in fight mode while you running in forest or something. AI should take empty bases, bandits should relocate to different buildings. now if you explore map before main mission. half of the buildings set-up like someone is living in it, but they all empty. but campfire is on. food on tables etc... a bit weird

The thing i love about stalker and it's long lasting community is that no matter what og stalkers stick together and it gsc don't fix it the community and the modders will be the modders have been active for decades I remember playing call of pripryat and driving around in a car running over mutant dogs

One of the things I crave for is a more gradual progression. I mean you can pretty much get a Kharod and a exo in 10 min and upgrade them fully both in like 30 min of gameplay.
Ideally you'd be wanting actors to be rendered outside of the player's sight, ofc that does mean they have to "spawn in" in some respect because you can't have all the actors on the map rendered and commiting to actions at the same time, even workstations would'nt be able to run that, but doing it dynamically so the world feels alive is very possible to do and have it feel immersive

Yeah dunno how they're gonna handle that, I just hope the end result is different for PC/Console. Modern PC's should be more capable of longer render than consoles, though that can ofc change depending on the users hardware age. Hopefully they find a way of doing it that works for everyone
i mean they dont need to render actual AI outside your visability. they just need to render nodes(some kind of data) which means this partical is moving and than player is near this node they render event

this is how OG stalker worked i think. on PDA you could see enemies in the map. i doubt they rendered it, it was small data nodes
Yeah, thats what I mean. Though the actor still has to be spawned in place of that marker, it just has to be an appropriate distance away that the player doesn't see them spawning in, or when the player doesn't have LoS at longer distances

Everything is super simplified. Mods can fix that even now but in order for it to make sense overall is to change the whole progression
We need the SDK before we're gonna see a full artifact overhaul to give them all unique effects, or at least more than likely, but GSC might do it themselves at somepoint, who knows

No PDA statistics, no faction patches, some factions have very similar suits/colors (hard to identify longer range) etc.

The fines of progression and complexity of medical system and consumables was added with Anomaly. That style of progression is far more in line with survival aspects of the game and ofc scarcity of loot

I have a mod for AI with modded weapons…that bug gave me a Dnipro with coupled mags😂
in my case during a firefight vs monolith, the bug decided to give me a dragunov on the other slot when i already had one on the other slot lmao
The mod (AI modded guns) is kinda balanced because the drop rate is very small however when it drops it can be a nuke😄
The difficulty balancing was weird for me. I am currently playing on the lowest because the one tier above that I had bloodsuckers spawning on me constantly. Like randomly every 30 mins or so. The game was practically unplayable at that difficulty
Worst thing: some attachments are available on multiple spots in game, others are either end game only or not in game to be found at all it seems…

I think there’s only 1 special secondary for each quest giver, others are pretty generic like find x artifact or kill some bandits. The unique ones are like the one the r has you kill Beard and Sultan and so, find Sultan’s stuff... Those are one timers, and then you get the usual generic quests.
It's a bug. Try to start old/other save.

system from the original stalker trilogy that effectively simulates NPC activity even while the player isn't around such as overland movement/travel, battles between them, etc.
I want more warlord weapons. I got shah's and honestly don't even remember where I got the stash location from but I killed shah, the other warlord in that area, and the dude who wanted them dead. Shah's mate has been my go to weapon for the longest now.

Limansk is not there, Lab-X16 neither, Warlab ? Pripyat Undergrounds ? there are many areas that are not present yet in S2 i think they might release another story DLC later or who knows

I'd rather wait for proper A-Life before they added in Freeplay. Also it would probably be best to have it as a separate single-player game mode to avoid story conflicts with the game's endings.

I mean, that bridge is literally the road to Limansk from Clear Sky. Plus there's that radio at the top of the building with the creepy-ass you can listen to, along with the PDA stating that the signal is coming from Limansk.
Would be cool if they added in some elements of the original Dead City map to that too.

I mean the faction system is so vague id honestly wait for a full on flesh out of many of the games ''barescratch'' systems.
Alife is also one of them. The current status quo provides a decent gameplay loop for the game, but multiple places on the map have static spawns for monsters that are supposed to be there taking prio for actual inhabitants of that place (Army Warehouses being the most known offender, but there are many more).
||I wouldnt realy say Skif has anything to do with being a god in his ending, I rather see it as him being manipulated by Faust and letting the Zone decide its next step with it leading to showing that the Zone wishes to expand. As per previous expansions its possible you might play somebody else than Skif. But who knows.||

original stalker games are classics but are really dated and quite old now, not sure if they're really worth playing in the year of our lord 2024
Original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy is 100% worth playing nowadays, age be damned.
Clear Sky holds up pretty well, even Shadow of Chornobyl.
The original games are more of a story experience shooter with very interesting shooting mechanics with a hint of sandbox. At least if I remember correctly the unmodded Shadow of Chernobyl doesnt have many systems the later expansions have.
If I remember damage is set based on the difficulty level, so if you want to deal the most, you need to get hit the most. Also guns are hella inaccurate.
For more of a sandbox experience youd need to mod, like Anomaly and Gamma.
If you are a complete newcommer, S2 would be in my opinion the best.

yeah yaniv tech, exo suit is only worth using with the sprint upgrade after all. you can get the duty exo early on from cooling towers but no sprint makes it not worth using

Yeah you need to roll the box over to one of those protrusions and then you jump up on that, I think one more protrusion, and then you're on the roof.

That's another gripe of mine: why are even the large anomaly fields only spitting out a single artifact? It wasn't like that in the original trilogy, you could get two, sometimes even three artifacts from an anomaly field back in CoP.

Well just finished the game after 78 hours and all I can say is wow what a game! The story, atmosphere, gameplay all top notch only ever let down my a few glitches that were more annoying then game breaking.
My largest criticism would be the last few hours of the game feels like a real slog 😅 even though there are reasons and story beats for it. One of my all time favourite games now.

RX 590. I get 45-60 FPS stable. I was getting stutters and I deleted my drivers with DDU plus amd cleanup tool and reinstalled again and solved it but crashes increased to the point that my PC keeps crashing every 10 minutes.

Yeh so malachite is most likely overrun by the ward. And the ward is hostile to you. Which makes everyone belonging to the enemies side. When you talk to the trader ect there then their symbol turns white I think. But you cannot leave the building because the doors are shut. You only can leave through the guide again

several? I only had 1 single side quest lock me out on my first time beating it
I only had 2 minor issues which were fixed. I had basically nothing stopping me from the start to finish. I'm playing a second playthrough and combing through the entire map and I've encountered more issues however.
tbh ive had several side quests get soft locked on me, the only thing about this game i dislike is some items cant be discarded especially from side quests, and even if you abandon them youre stuck with the dead weight
the biggest one for me was the Zalissya quest, it just didn't work for me in general. I also couldn't loot one of the mutants with a collar, it wasn't letting me
the most recent one that fortunately got fixed for me was the faust fight, i had won the first time and choose to take his hand like a dope due to last time i pulled myself up, once i respawned i couldn't walk and could only look up and down until i restarted the game

Yes, its the same exact bugs i had the first time i tried to do this quest before the patches. everyone is stuck inside the town hall, one or two monolith will wander out if i run around like a dumbass

This is precisely how you get past this bug. If Monolith are stuck in the town hall, you run out of Zalissya (I went South) and then run east and west for a little while each direction, and retrace your steps back to town hall. A monolith or two will pop out and you kill then before they kill any residents.

If you have bad luck and no Monolithians run out after a turn or two, run a lap around the outside of Zalissya and begin again. It worked great for me and I was rapidly done with the quest. It’s important that you stay far away from the town hall for about a minute. Sprinting out and back rapidly does not work.
for me, the entire town has zero NPC's and the first set of doors aren't even open/ are locked, then i've heard of people who were able to defend Zalissya, but once they leave the region they get a message on the radio saying everyone is dead
Yes, this is the indication of the bug. Look inside the windows. If you see townsfolk and Monolithians just moving around but no one is shooting then do the method I described to overcome it

If you leave the Lesser Zone, it will resolve badly, yes. Do not do this. Instead, try the method I mentioned. The Monolithians will walk through the closed/locked door and come outside where they can be killed, 1-2 at a time
Resolving the quest and getting past the bug took me maybe 10-15 minutes total. Hardly a major ordeal. Very easy. If you would rather wait for a patch, that’s your choice of course. I’m just here to offer you a path forward. What you do with that knowledge is up to you.

That is correct, they fall through the floor. Has happened to me in three separate areas. And since the artifacts are persistent and stay still after you uncover them, that means three locations are off limits for artifact hunting for me
The only good thing about the trilogy is you can get an abundance of ammo so all you have to do is just spray thorax level and you'll kill them anyways

I kind've gotta agree, the new exosuits look too crude and simplistic to actually do what they're supposed to do. Doesn't seem like there's actually enough there to meaningfully enhance the user's total strength
they need to put some kind of PDA chip with x amount of credits, so they can replace the 700 stashes around the whole game with 3 breads , 2 sausage, 5 bandaids each . and put instead (20 5.56 bullets + 300 credits + 1 granade).
i would be so happy if they put just a small amount of credit to replace the food

I think as soon as they add this hunting dude in rostok they need to rebalance economy anyway. now they adjusted the economy for the people as the game is but I feel like there should be more miscellanious quests with no limit and cooldown, what you said and the mutant loot. and then they can go back to a harder economy so you can kinda do side quests and loot money on the go even though you only loot like 200 coupons or something but the whole exploring should give you enough then and would make looting more viable.

mutant loot is actually fine as it is, i already got used to no mutant loot. its just like an anomaly, sometimes you will take damage, it will cause some resources. Its fine, its the stash thats the main problem, not because you will dry out of credit, i think the economy is fine as it is. But the stash is so underwhelming, that everytime i open one is just "oh wow spent 7 minutes to reach this stash , took damage from anomaly and got more bread, amazing!"
New monolith might have a squad of exosuits in every nook and cranny of pripyat. But it's hard to find them as scary when you've left an trail of bodies behind you because of it. So old monolith for sure.
since there is a hunters area in rostok they will add mutant loot for sure I think. THe economy is too easy on stalker difficulty and its ridiculously bad on veteran difficulty. veteran is better after the patch but I feel like they need to adjust some stuff anyway by adding new means to loot.
im playing on veteran and its quite fine for me, just loot every weapon thats sellable , do artifact run , thats it . i have more than enough

i feel like they made certain sources of income more lucrative like artifact farming to help compensate for other drains on income like mutants but then what happens is new players who dont know the importance or even know that said income methods are a thing end up just getting resource drained by mutant encounters with much less ways to recoup

was way worse before the patch, as I said veteran is ok now but its ridiculous that you loot half broken weapons and artifacts to make money and its not really rewarding. you have a rifle that is worth 14 k and you get around 2k for that. mid game I feel like the economy is the worst on veteran because you aquire more expensive gear but enemies can still drop toz and stuff depending on where you are in the story. in the last 75% I feel like money is no problem anymore. artifact runs are also pure luck. you find an artifact thats 12k worth you get 2k for that, on stalker difficulty you get 3600 for that.
like im not gonna lie the game seriously doesnt teach alot about what artifacts are and how theyre made
like they just tell you "oh artifacts have abilities when equipped" and "artifacts appear in areas with alot of anomalies" but then i dont think they even tell you they respawn or that emissions are what cause them to appear except in random tips (?)
would be nice if mutant loot would exist to just slow down the money drain because of them. doesn't have to fully make up for it but make at least as much money that you can pay 50% of your maintenance with it.
just do what I did and grindf up 10mil. Use only skifs pistol and no armor and go explore everything in sight. No repairs aside pistol for maximum profit,

players who know the concept of anomaly fields, artifact respawns and artifact routing can easily take advantage of the now numerous farming routes in Stalker 2 to make FAT stacks but the new players are gonna have a bit of a curve even knowing how they work as they get fleeced with every mutant encounter and whatever expenses there is
It's less that you NEED income from mutants to manage to fund your repairs but more that it makes them a resource draining annoyance that simply aren't fun or rewarding to fight. There's no incentive to feel anything but "oh not again" whenever you encounter them
I had a time in my vet playthrough where I only went with a decent armor, one full upgraded toz (without slug upgrade), and the .45 pistol and skif pistol. was great to earn money. but if I would've imagine this with full upgraded armor and full upgraded AR, Saiga what ever I would've had a really hard time mid game

oh well in my experience (in stalker difficulty at least) proper artifact farming makes ALOT of cash. easily paying for my exo and maxed Kharod maintenance and bullets while netting >40-50k coupons in profit, so you wont need to worry about it if you know what youre doing
I find them as a slight annoyance. They're sponges with no reward. I put about 200 rounds in with shah's mate and sometimes that's still not enough. Bullets are plentiful but it's still tedious

stalker difficulty is actually incredibly easy to make money. its I think even 20% too easy. could be 20% less for stalker difficulty and could be 15-20% more income for vet difficulty.

rule of thumb is to always use shotguns against mutants, all shotguns have maxed damage in point blank and i suspect its cause theyre deliberately designed to counter mutants. pretty sure thats how it was even in the OG games
In the case of a chimera or pseudo giant the answer to that tends to be not very fast lmao. I mean I'm kitted to the absolute teeth to the point only a chimera is a true threat to me. But it's also simply annoying to constantly have 4 blood suckers thrown at you and just get nothing, not even the satisfaction of eliminating an extremely dangerous enemy from that area of the map. Because there's just going to be 4 more right around the corner
I like to use shah and a sniper so I often don't carry a shotgun cuz it'd just be extra weight and a pain to equip in a hurry
you can consider eventually transitioning to a scoped AR and a shotgun
rule #1 of mutants: "Tried and true, carry a shotgun with you, mutant and fat, expansive for that, far away, flat to stay"

Some variant of this has been my most effective loadout for most the game. The shotgun for deleting mutants while the scoped AR let's you tap heads on humans with the option to go full auto or spam shots whenever the sudden rodent plague or cluster of enemies demands it. My latest loadout of choice in that style has been the dnipro in 7.62 with AP rounds and the Texan or Sledgehammer/saiga

I've actually been using a gauss rifle and Texan shotgun with the APSD pistol as my latest loadout though. 9x18mm AP is stupidly easier to find and lighter vs 7.62x39 AP rounds and I've literally 1 tapped exosuits in the head with that pistol before.

See I try to do that but most of the time what ends up happening is the guns are either so low tier that I still get a net loss or all the best guns are in pripyat and the combat super hard there so my armor and stuff just gets even more damaged and then enemies just spawning out of nowhere psidogs are my worst nightmare

dont ever buy equipment, no joke, theres endgame level equipment that can be grabbed completely free such as the Falcon suit and the Kharod/Dnipro, a simple youtube video will give all info you need

Artifact hunting is by far the best repeatable method of earning coupons in all stages of the game. Another youtuber recently gave what seems to be the most updated list of all areas where artifacts respawn, all you need to do is to choose a spot with alot of spawning areas, go to all of them, head back and sell. you'll make fat stacks in no time

for my personal recommendation, grab the falcon first, im not joking it literally has physical protection that matches or even exceeds Exoskeletons and is easily nabbed with some running, then proceed to youtube "stalker 2 artifact routes" and just follow the route given OR make your own. i also highly recommend buying a better artifact scanner if you have the coupons. trust me the first one you get will eventually drive you insane
OH and save often once you go artifact hunting, you'll quickly see why

I have the falcon armor fully upgraded dinipro a fully upgraded unique siaga and two thunder Berry artifacts one compass artifact and strange water I also have the liberty exosuit
It doesn't help that the beginning detectors make artifact hunting feel like a massive pain in the ass for something you don't even know could be worth it. I had artifact hunting down to a routine back in the old games yet it took until I got a bear detector to start hunting for them much
ohh okay well youre already familliar with artifact farming so that should be easier to do. just keep doing that whenever you need a cash injection
the best way to farm artifacts with the first detector is to head to the anomaly field, save, then completely disregard your health and just run till the artifact appears then memorize the location and load the save 😎

Weirdly enough, a group of Duty (you'd expect it to be Freedom, since they control Rostok) fighters come in and man the checkpoint once you've killed off the mutants.

I just fought off a pack of zombies seemingly guarding a really tall concrete silo looking structure, climbed what felt like forever up a ladder just to only find a skeleton. No loot. Nothin. Just a dead dude up there.

Also if you're soft locked from the story, why not run around and explore some? I'm 150 hours in and have barely even got like 40% of the map explored properly in the nooks and crannies
If you’re referring to ||Defending Zalyssa side mission|| I experienced a bug myself but got lucky in that ||I killed some monolith soldiers outside|| and the rest are just permanently cohabitating inside of Zalyssa but the vendors are there for me just have like 9 frenemies glitching out in there
Because I did just that too. Now there are no side quests left for me to do as far as I can tell. And no it’s not the zalyssa mission

I enjoy the rad protection and PSI protection it offers along with gas mask built in so it’s less gear needing to repair each time
SEVA V SUIT - Best looking out of all the suits imo.
Only took me like 40 hrs in to realize why I kept taking on radiation damage and then once I found a good balance of artifacts I eliminated the annoying constant need of popping anti rads or constantly carrying vodka with me
Yeah, its for sure one of the most well-rounded suits before an exo, doesnt take much to get it upgraded either, BPs are easy to get

As a fan of both Stalker and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, it's fun to see the overlap between actors. For instance Trapper is Captain Bernard in KCD, while the Ward Colonel is Sir Robard. And Skif will play several characters in KC:D2!

For loot progression and balance reasons. If you'd get near perfect weapons every time you encounter enemies, the economy would be bust, and there'd be no reason to buy weapons, or search staches.
I mean absolutely, but every single person ever doesn't have to have a broken weapon Econ sux anyways cuz of repair costs, hence my grinding of 11 million cupons so i never have to worry about them again.
I have no issues with the current repair costs. You have to have SOMETHING to spend money on, and most, if not all your equipment are found, not bought.

There isn't any reason to buy weapons, veteran stalkers already know you can find them by just playing the game and even people that are new to the franchise can piece together that weapons are too expensive. One way they could fix this issue was looting bodies gives a small amount of coupons, which would make selling guns less of a thing.

I must admit I bought that highest tier 5.45 assault rifle from Yaniv when I first got there. Was like 26k while I had 400k-ish. Was easier then eventually running into one and having to fix it up for the same amount...

Nah I agree. Gear should be out in the world, but it should require effort to aquire. Though it would be hard to work into this game without going through stashes one by one and picking and choosing the hardest ones to access to put good loot in.
Currently, between both the static loot and the avaliability of ammo and meds particularly, you can be fully stocked with no effort at all.
Remove 90% of ammo/meds/food from drops and placed out in the world, we instantly have a progression that is based around a players ability to survive. Stashes could do with almost limitless randomization per playthrough too. For instance some having meds, some having ammo, some having guns, others artifacts, etc

By the endgame, you can do whatever, money is no issue by then. But early to mid game? Yeah, the game throws enough 100% guns and uniques that you can repair so no need to buy armor or guns

I know but literally everyone suffers some sort of optimization, bug or crash problem in the game. They are killing their own game themselves by not putting out a patch before people refund the game or stop playing and forget about it. If the next patch doesn`t fix the crash problem I will move on to some other game myself
