i did a lot of walking around zalissya while shooting once a while (mainly town hall to warlock's bar back and forward) until they pushed themselves to the door (weren't fully out of the building yet), then i squeezed myself through them and made the door fully open so they could get out and i finished them one by one (you don't have to kill everyone) until i was thanked by gaffer

If you're playing on vet, what it took for me was hopping on various crates to find one where the mutant pathing would get confused and it would sit there perfectly still. Then I pot shotted the same main head on single fire. I killed it with 10 bullets left.

I was experimenting with a glicth where if you upgraded an armor outfit in your inventory with the +10% weight capacity upgrade at a technician, it would apply permanently without having to put the armour outfit on. The PDA that nestor had is an old monolithian pda. A group of stalkers who became obsessed with the zone and eventually created the rumor of the wishgranter. In 2011, they disappeared and walked into the Brain Scorcher proclaiming they were the protectors of the Wish Granter. In the Original Trilogy, stalkers who travel too far north become brainwashed, have no free will, no emotions, and high pain tolerance. They are forcefully converts of Monolith. They served the Wish Granter (which is just the C-consciousness) However monolith hasn’t been around since 2012, since the ccon was killed. Many monolithians began to regain their consciousness and free will but a decent amount were still religious zealots about the monolith (even as it began to lose power). The ones who were free do not remember who they were before they were monolith, as the ccon wiped their memories. Now fast forward to STALKER 2. Now many former monolithians either ditched the patch in order to reintegrate as lone stalkers (since many people hate them for the amount of deaths they caused while brainwashed) or they became noontiders, people who recognize they won’t be welcomed in many places and so keep to themselves while trying to move on from their past as zealous soldiers. The reason you are going is because if a monolith pda belonged to the guys who now have the scanner, it must be noontide. But you’ll see that there’s a little more going on and all is not as well as it seems amongst the former monolithians.

Strider is ex monolith soldier, he was one of the characters in CoP and represented some of the first monolithians trying to return to life in the zone just as any stalker but like i said, many didn’t like them so he grouped up other monolith soldiers and they moved into wild island which acts as a sort of commune for them. They’re isolationists and would rather be left alone. His group is Noontide.
Scar is the main character of CS, the prequel. He was originally a mercenary working for a group of scientists who were small but wanted to help understand the zone. In CS he survives multiple emissions that killed many (and even seemed to result in the convert of other stalkers into monolith) but where he was quiet in that game, the emissions, experiences in the zone, and a (secret third thing) have resulted in an eccentric new group called Spark. Similar to clear sky, his goal is to understand the zone but to do that, he believes they need to rid the zone of the “bad” noospheric thoughts, which is why the zone is frankly a terrible place to live. He thinks that it’s these groups and their ideals that result in the zone producing its most dangerous inhabitants. He wants to reveal the “shining” zone, the good side of the noosphere.

I don't know why anyone would want post-campaign freeplay without functioning A-Life. Seems pointless without that feature.

Also: ||Considering how all but one of the game's endings has Skif either: becoming the new God of the Zone, trapped in a hallucination, or leaving the Zone||, I feel like it would be too jarring to suddenly be in freeplay after that, and locking freeplay behind a single ending doesn't seem like a good idea either.

Frankly, if freeplay was a thing we would firstly need functioning A-Life, and I think the best experience would be to make it a separate game mode on the main menu and go for an Anomaly-esque style start where you choose your starting faction, location and equipment.

Are there any plans for difficulty mode balancing? The economy in Veteran makes me feel like I'm playing Misery or Anomaly, but then if I go down to Stalker difficulty everything feels too easy. I feel like the game would be improved if each difficulty was more closely modeled after the original trilogy. What I liked about Master in the original trilogy was how instead of outright gimping the player, it just removed or reduced the player buffs and put you on a more balanced playing field with the rest of the game, whereas Veteran in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2:

* Reduces player damage

* Increases NPC damage

* Increases enemy health and/or damage resistance

* Makes the economy punish the player

And that might not even be everything.

This doesn't make me feel like I'm being challenged, it makes me feel like I'm being punished, and it feels like such a step backwards.

@true void A-Life is the artificial intelligence system in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. that allows the world to feel alive and real.

As I've always understood it, the system is made up of two components:

1. The "Online" proximity-based spawner that spawns in NPCs and mutants around the player. The proximity-based spawner in the original trilogy had a MUCH larger radius compared to what we see in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.

2. The "Offline" activity where non-rendered entities do stuff i.e. hunt for artifacts, hunt mutants, get in firefights, etc. All of this is happening in the background as basically calculations on a big spreadsheet. Only when the player gets close enough do the NPCs and whatever activity they were doing spawn into the game.

I have hope that A-Life in S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 can be fixed, it's just going to be a matter of waiting. One hopeful piece of information is that Dmitiry Iassenev is still with/rejoined GSC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and has an active LinkedIn page. Unfortunately, he's actively deployed in the war and I hope that he and everyone else still deployed can make it home safely.

Some people save scum a drop, by saving 150+ meters away and running in until the artifact drops, since any anomaly can drop any artifact on it's table, and being 150+ out makes sure it loads only when you get close enough. Some people make loops around anomaly fields for farming. As long as the field can drop an artifact, in this case a gravity one, you have a chance at one. The dump heap in south Cordon near the rookie village has a gravity anomaly as well.

SPP is basically modern SEVA, where as seva is 2012 tech

I would advocate for the SEVA-V for artifact hunting though due to its high resistances

SEVA is good to upgrade, 5 artifact slots, 2 leaded, 10% carry boost, 5% stamina regen boost, plus physical isnt even very important, and you can get physical protection artifacts

With the amount of medkits you get thrown at you protection matters even less since you can just outheal a lot of damage sources

No im saying physical protection of the suit itself isnt that important, you can offset it with an artifact. Anomaly protection matters even less yes. Psi protection is good but seems like it doesnt do much and I gotta pop a psi blocker anyway

Hey in case anyone else is having bug with 'A Minor Incident' quest where it shows to meet Richter at the Slag Heap after retreiving the collar. He is not actually at the Slag Heap, but he will spawn after a while at the same 'Boat House' location where you got the collar.

After Monolith "returns"... after heading to the Sphere again, to turn off the emitter there and clear out the monolith forces, the starter town Zelissia is putting out calls for help, go there, town is ruined etc.. but everyone is all inside the former Ward building.. Door is locked, nothing to do or respond to... What do I need to do at this point?

man, one of the most annoying things about this game has got to be the random ridges and cliff faces that force you to spend 5-10 minutes walking around to find a way up or down it, because you can't climb them and you can't jump down them or you will die to fall damage

My playthrough through one of the endings took 60 hours more focused on Story and less on side missions, so you'll probably squeeze another 20 if you focus on side quests

i'm at about 150 hours and i've pretty much full cleared the map + did one ending. i'm loading saves to side with other factions now but my only endings left ||are ward and star, since i did strelok||. i would say the average player that doesn't 100% the game will probably get close to 100ish hours only exploring a few locations between main story objectives

I came from Bethesda puking stuff all over you to complete, so I’m alright with squeezing everything out of the game I can first time around. Got the ultimate edition too, hope the dlc takes us to the CNPP. GSC does Fallout better than Bethesda. But I love bethesdas side quests.

FWIW I've had two Compass and like 8 Hypercubes in my second playthrough just from running from one anomaly to another when i need money, they're RNG based, you might get good ones, you might get not so good ones, but they're not hard to get

yeah, in shoc and clear sky you could join factions. it was pretty cool, clear sky had a whole faction war mechanic where you could basically define the reach of your faction by taking land and killing enemies

It comes with a mod that tones that down ever so slightly. They can and will still absolutely delete you, but it won't be instantly, use the older version if you want guns to behave like, you know, guns. (IE; you shoot someone they die/you get shot, you die)

i REALLY wish they didn't nerf the RPM so much as they have in this. i really hope that it will be fixed at some point because i used to really like it in the other games but it's just a bit..weak now that they've changed the stats for reflect it taking 7.62x39 instead of 7.62x54 like it used to. it feels like they nerfed the damage and range but forgot to look at the recoil and so many of the guns in the game seem to be listed with the same Fire Rate stat while it's not really correct either.

The CNPP and iron forest are probably dlc locations, but as I said people are saying that Skif ending is canon because “the devs said” so there’s posts speculating that we’re going to leave the zone and stuff, so if that’s the case then it’s unlikely we would see the CNPP, but I have my doubts, I’d really like to see this dev post people keep mentioning on steam
