The VSS Vintorez is an integrally suppressed specops sniper rifle, not made to be modified. AS VAL equivalent (I don't know the fake gun names) has you covered on a scope rail + it has full auto capabilities and larger mag capacity if they're being realistic

Played all of those you mentioned, but theres still fewer of those than most games out there. So why does stalker, a long time story game, have to suddenly be immersion over story focused? Look at every other IP out there where the companies tried to stray away from their original intent and it ended up absolutely blowing? Take mass effect andromeda or the newest dragon age for example. You got so focued on trying to change things you forgot what brought people to your games to begin with, and they end up sucking because the OG fanbase is like,,, pfft what is this slop?

That “first time you use consumable it doesn’t work bug” is poo yeah. To fix it you have to be still, or walking while doing the animation, and letting the animation complete its course, basically no running. After that, consumables should work properly. It seems to trigger completely randomly, or when your consumable options switch, if that’s what your referring too.

dunno what a Lavina is but IRL the VSS Vintorez and a Val have the same barrel length, same suppressor, same caliber, but it's full auto and has a skeleton stock. One gripe I have with this game is that the gun makes the damage not the ammo. Really throws me for a loop. "A cheap gun with good ammo is better than a good gun with cheap ammo". Waiting for a mod that fixes this anachronism

The genres whole differentiating in playstyle have the same gameplay loop. Games like Dead Cells, Tales of Maj-Eyal, FTL.

The graphics are low but the gameplay quality is superb.

Hey, So I am playing via the gamepass and just updated to 1.03 patch that came out.
I am still having the same bug as before.
I have just finished the SIRCAA quest after which I have to went to talk to Prof Lodochoka and save him from mercenaries. Since that location is so close to Zalissia, I went there to offload some inventory when I heard Gaffers message regarding Monolithians attacking Zalissia and him requesting for reinforcements.
When I reach there, there are ambient sounds of gunfire, but not a single stalker or monolithian is is present or could be seen fighting. When I then go to City Hall, there is a Stalker outside who says we held them off and to talk to Gaffer. But the door is locked and I can't get in.

What to do? How to move past this? I thought this would be finally fixed in 1.03 patch, but evidently it hasn't.

I'd still prefer if each faction had their own voice lines like in the OGs. Kind of hard to tell them apart when there is only army, freestalker, bandit and monolith audio. They have variation in voices... but since duty, spark and freedom share some voice files so it's hard to tell them apart in battle.

I was looking forward to porting over the Ukrainian voices, instead of the Ru dub for Loners Freedom Ecologists and Military, I used in CoP. The Ukrainian audio files sounded far more natural sounding.

Out of battle tho, It's top notch voice acting still in Stalker 2.

Sorry dont mean to sound impersonal but the way discord/game server staff operate is pretty standard. These issues come up all the time. Really not worth losing too much sleep over. In the short term - if you are really having problems with another user - the block function can do a lot to remove an issue until it can be dealt with properly.

It is in the Generators. You can't take it back with you once you enter the Generators. It is considered the "no return" point so it's just kinda there. HOWEVER, there is an extended BOX mag for the RPM 74 in Pripyat but I haven't found an RPM 74 aside from once.

Personally I like using the glutton LMG and the SVU plus the Mac 10. Far enemies, mid range enemies, and clsoe range enemies. If you learn the Mac 10 recoil and get good at aiming at heads, it'll shred a friggin bloodsucker.

My upgrade path probably looks really messed up to most people. Went from ak74u to ak74n with the welded PSO-1 to G36 that I fully specced then I took a trip to Yaniv after talking to noontide and bought a Malyuk. My secondary slot was double barrel, remington 870 -> the free one you get with a mag, then the saiga 12k (also Yaniv, used it for my secret not-allowed pripyat trip to get my new exo)

You get your first EXO through the story line depending on where you are. If you get to meet Strelok in his lab with Dark, there is a standard EXO in his work room you can take. It was my first exo when you attempt to look for what the STALKERS call "The Oasis" Or you can skip through using game design to Pripyat where there are I think maybe six or seven exo suits to pick up. You can find a Diamond exo there.

GP37 reloads a little slower than the combatant, combatant with double AK mags will get you better results in a CQC environment. Combatant has better damage all around too cause GP37 is at 0.8 and combatant is at 1.2 damage. you'd do better with the combatant than the GP37 for CQC but like I said, it entirely depends on where you go. I have a kit for every occasion cause I'm playing on veteran so I tailor my kit according to the situations I'm getting into.

Also worth pointing out most of the main missions are in CQC environments so I have mostly CQC dedicated kits in my stash

Don't think this is right. You may be thinking of the WARD version is awarded to owners of the Ultimate Edition. Its called the PSZ-21W Shturm exo. Freedom and Duty each have two exo skeletons in the game. Freedom is LIberty and Bulwark while Duty is Cuirass and "Shield of Duty". SoD is one that hasn't been found yet (I've probably spent 12 hours total of just looking for it). I'm starting to get curious myself. Cavalier was hidden really well when I found that while looking for SoD lol. I submitted a question for them to confirm that its in the game and not spawning through the floor or anything like that. You can see in console commands that it is in the game. You can spawn it/equip it. However; I have no idea where its at. it is good practice to force nvidia reflex on ultra, force vsync (plus set up gsync if you can) and also limit fps to your monitors refresh rate, all through nvidia control panel

then turn off vsync in game, and unlimit fps in game

basically a little trick for better performance through nvidia

Also the millisecond differences between 60hz and 144hz in a competetive game are definitely important, its a diminishing return though, 60 to 144 is a big gap in frame timing, but 144 to 265 is not as much

in both Xray and Unreal Stalker versions Alife is an illusion.
Xray sells it better because of details like further distance spawning and PDA functions like stalkers nearby, factions tab and Leaderboard - where you can see a simulated leaderboard that tells u names and their armor and faction choices in a avatar picture with arbitrary number go up or down.

spawning is similar as in unreal. thing is... Xray has levels, unreal is always loaded openworld.
if u sit in SOC cordon for years, that poor dude getting mugged by bandits at the entry of garbage wont save himself. he wont get assisted by other npcs. hes frozen in time just like the rest of unreal world is outside your play area.

in fact, go to cordon, can be in anomaly even.
then go to the bridge, get to the farm on the small hill where the technician sits and stay outside at the fence. look with a sniper towards the death truck near level exit
you will have a chance to see bandit squads spawning there and start swagging towards you to take the farm.
look left towards the electro tunnel and there is a small camp near an anomaly field where military and monolith spawn. just wait at that fence and they will turn up to take the farm aswell.
u can fight military and bandits all over and over again at that position without moving - because just like in unreal, they still do spawn around you.
Yes the spawn distance in unreal is too close and due to a visibility check, they tend to spawn in your back which is annoying at best, there are mods that alleviate that issue

Go into a new level on xray, see an npc squad with vadim milkman, go back to the level u just came from and go then back to the same level yet again and Vadim milkman is not there anymore. ALife is loaded for each level anew.
Hitman missions have a target icon on the PDA map but u switch the level and there is a chance the target did so too - to simulate them roaming the zone
but
only when u and target both are in the same level that target marker in PDA map becomes active and moving. - because only then does alife exist.
Sidorovich doesn hand out quests to NPCs, other NPCs dont give each other quests.
What you mean is offline warfare and that only really worked to some degree in Anomaly. a modpack.
SoC didnt have that at all.

there are two extremely simple ways to tell that this is false: one, in clear sky, there is an entire faction war system that simulates each individual squad and what they are doing in terms of their objectives in the war. this gamemode would straight up not work if there wasn't persistence offline; the squads would just be made of different people or have a different composition, breaking some parts of the faction war (you could essentially permanently reroll squads to be exo squads just by walking in and out of their "online" a-life radius)
the second is that if you load up anomaly, go into the debug menu to enable the debug PDA hud, and then look at the map you can see extremely detailed information about every single squad on the map that is verifiable by going to the squad in question and looking at them. early versions of anomaly even had bugs with NPCs where they would lag your game because if they survived long enough they would vacuum up loot and cause load-in lag when you walked close to them and their inventory with 50 guns would load in, something that wouldn't be possible if it was faked.
what you are confusing a-life with is scripted, static spawns for things that are story related. the alternative, if you didn't have some things that waited until you got close to start, is that every single event in game would be missable if you specifically weren't there when it happened. if you took your time getting to places you would probably miss 90% of the cool scripted stuff that happens, which would create an actual feeling of emptiness because everything would be procedurally generated at that point

These PDA messages literally dont exist in either SoC, CS, or CoP.
Alll the stalkers you see in these vanilla titles are random generated stalkers that have no real connection to anything. they dont do quests, they dont follw a real path, they wander aimlessly and give you the impression that the zone is alife.
thats the whole goal.
and only Anomaly(+gamma) or lost alpha try to restore what Alife claims to have been before it was castrated down.
most of these alife features really do only exist in mods and vanilla alife was very simple in reality.

there are then some simpel calculations done of powerlevel vs powerlevel in case the chance hits that 2 squads "meet" and the one with higher powerlevel and more members wins. thats all.

and you literally explain that Anomaly was much more advanced bc the squads there had more sub-mechanics like loot and biographys. they actually did have a purpose and path.
And the point of not scripted events are missions that are missable is LITERALLY the reason why they castrated alife. bc the game was able to play itself and finish quests from the player by npc-itself. but that didnt make for a great game, so they had to dumb it down and that created that huge bugfiesta that we know and love today

depends what kind of crash your getting, the error code that has like 9 numbers (this one 887A0006) is fixable if you increase your paging file, the exception access error is ether memory leak related or 13/14 intel instability issues or a bad ram problem, and sudden freezes is a bug/memory error (the ram usage randomly spikes to insane amounts, over 70gb) also I use borderless windowed cus it seems to be more stable then fullscreen.

there are multiple faction storylines, with almost every war having it's own unique missions and decisions to make. there is a bandit faction that is ONLY interactable if you do specific things in the loner vs bandit war, with side quests and an entire base of unique bandit NPCs to meet. you unlock an otherwise-hostile faction, which is incredibly interesting from a gameplay perspective. there is a sidequest chain on the loners side of helping wild napr and the flea market that affects the other loner bases like the one in agroprom. you're saying all of this serves no purpose just because the writers decided to make NPCs call him a merc, as a shortcut to avoid writing multiple dialogue triggers in case he's not actually a merc?
the a-life description you give also doesn't make much sense, because you are describing what it is but trying to make it seem like it's a bad thing. what would the alternative be to making it predefined? having variables randomly change independent of calculations? that would mean that it has to calculate things that didn't actually happen, like the equivalent of someone magically spawning in a new gun while they are sleeping.
plus, there are plenty of variables it actually changes that does make them dynamic. the calculations are not simple, squads can retreat after taking losses that dynamically stay; if you go to them in game you will see that there is less people in the squad and which npcs died. their calculated power levels will go up if they pick up a new gun in a level because it calculates it based on the NPC in the squad, and not the other way around

yea but not really, the endings are determined by a couple of choices that all occur within a couple hours of eachother. The only one you have to revert far back to get. @mellow stag deus ex has tons of mechanics and tools to reach those goals? Choices and endings don’t mean imsim, thief is an imsim because you can approach the same goal in multiple ways using mechanics, not dialogue trees

Ending choices start in the "Subtle Matters quest" left choice goes down that ending route, right choice advances to the next split, until your on the 3th set, which lets u choose between 2 diff endings, I actually have a flow chat for it.

I ended up just reloading a save. The nearest shelter marker was 180M away, and it just led me to some underground bunker that I couldn’t find the entrance to. There needs to definitely be improvements to the shelter system

not according to my friend that did it, when you choose to side with them via the ending path it prob resets the negative faction so you can actually do the ending. Or just try not to tick them off if you plan to do their ending.

Well, RPG stands for "Role-playing Game". It doesn't need to have stats or skills for something to become a RPG as long as you can play on the role of the character and make the choices that the character would make.

Even though there are many games with choices that aren't RPGs, i still consider Stalker to be an RPG due to the sole fact that you can choose to play the protagonists in a specific a way and be immersed in their story and development across the zone.

Today is the longest I’ve been able to go playing stalker 2 on pc without any memory leaks. I think yesterday’s patch finally fixed it. Like I can maintain 120fps. Max settings. 1440p in zelysia. I have a 4090 and top parts. But then using the pda before would bring it down to 8fps. Like come on. It still goes down to half the fps to like 80fps in the pda but it goes back to 120 or higher in game now. Before it would just continue to go down.

ok ill explain an immersive sim to you they immerse you in the role of the character stalker immerses you in the role of a stalker with systems and mechanics that support that role so by definition its an immersive sim not every imsim has the same systems they all try to immerse u in a different type of character deus ex has different systems to prey yet they r immersive sims they also share nothing with arma which is also an immersive sim for a military rp

Played 5 hours yesterday, no crashes or bugs other than being given something after a quest and it taking about 10 seconds to let me continue.

for me every time i get a cutscene or i open map it drops to 5fps so now i do a no map playthrough :D

This was my issue before. But now seems to be fixed. See my post above yours. @dusky sonnet damn I hope I don’t see the same. I played on series x instead due to this issue. I had like 2 crashes on Xbox and that’s it. I beat the game. Got all 4 endings. Like almost 100 hours on series x instead. Way more stable.

Then there is something else going on since I have not had any performance issues. 4090, I9, 64 ddr5 ram. outside of bugs
