@upbeat cargo @misty rain with how broken unmodded veteran economy is repairing armor is unrewarding. 5 slots = you can put weird water, so you instantly don't need any rad protection and get additional 42 Kg carryweight and have other 4 slots to give all the protection you need with the artifacts so you're protected at all times without having to repair, care for rads nor carryweight.

At 5 artefact slots it's just best to carry whatever you think looks better.

Thing is, what exactly do you mean by zone is alive in Xray?
The Leaderboard with some arbitrary score and Vilka Milkman the gruesome Monolith having the most points followed by Ben Dover the Mercenary? Kind of not fitting these days anymore. sure funny, but who tracks these points? do you input how many dogs you killed? who confirms it?

Or do you mean how you have loading zones that will unload one part and load another, resulting in only ever a small piece of the zone being actively loaded - which funnily enough, is probably smaller than the zone around your player in Stalker 2 without mods due to the zone having no loading sectors anymore

is it the weird PDA tab of being able to track and see every stalker around you - which probably for lore reasons is because Strelok has a monolith PDA thanks to his past with extended monolith functionality, while Strif is just some random loner dude with some random basic PDA. He doesnt even know really what factions are.

So what exactly does make the zone really "alive"?
Sure the spawning behavior should be a bit tweaked to not be visually in sight and not repeatedly, but thats easy to fix.
Xray Stalker spawned random squads all the time too - just far enough away for you to notice. Hell, in Cordon at the Bridge you will have militaries respawn if youre shooting from the farm.

Is it that you miss the Hitman missions? You know where you had to travel the whole zone to hunt down some random punk who mightve switched level by the time you got there? Yeah basic logic function. 25% chance dude has changed position. But then again, Skif has no advanced PDA, so he cant track the whereabouts of other stalkers other than having to ask random squads if theyve seen some dude with balaclava and black leather jacket.

Things Id like to see would be cooking, more interaction at the campfire other than listening to crappy jokes all the time(why is nobody suddenly playing the guitar anymore or a harmonica?) or propely having some mild conversations other than asking whats new to the zone for the unth-amounth of time. Being able to form squads with NPCs possibly. NPCs reacting your your weaponry or new suit if its expensive or trash. Maybe getting stinky looks when you wear Freedom or Monolith suit in Rostock. Stuff like that. But that doesnt make the zone more alive, just further enhances the immersion by details

By the way, they recommend the optimization mods because I go to 130 on medium and when the game feels like it, it gives me a drop in fps that stays at 30 or 10 fps for life.

Fair point - Warfare was hot sht, esp the earlier versions of Illinaru - before he tried fixing monolith pressure which often resulted in stalker squads spawnrate generally being kinda ass and no matter how much he tried fixing it and other people taking over - its still whacky.
And Warfare is a seperate gamemode basically which does not fit Storymode. Imagine youre getting told to a specific mercenary for a pass, but said mercenary cant spawn at the location anymore because the Wardens have taken it.

And again, much of that zone feels alive came from the extended PDA information. The leaderboard which was basically just random Stalker names with their icons having arbitrary scores and being able to see the names of stalkers on 200m distance with the PDA.
Not having said information now does make it feel more lonely, i give you that. But Skif aint Strelok. You have to ask what Clear Sky even was.

I would say that people are already trying to mod that back in, there will certainly be "old UI" conversion - hell, the damm old mouse cursor is one of the most popular mods right now.

13gb is because of the way assets are stored. Theyre stored in larger "packets" which have to be fully replaced. Small changes in alot of packets means you gotta replace alot of packets, even if only 2% of a packet changed.

Well having patch is nice but with my mods I have a slight problem with: you have errors in ObjPrototypes.cfg, that cannot be fixed automatically. Open file and fix manually, as further loading of config files will lead to crash. Error in line: 587, struct hierarchy damaged, checking was stopped because of invalidity! Do not blame GSC for the Xbox and gamepass for pc version of the patch being delayed, that is purely MS's ceritifcation crap's fault. It can take up to 2 weeks for MS to certify a patch before they'll let it out on the console, I assume gamepass for pc follows a simmlar rule. honestly most enemies do not react to being shot at all which is stupid, ever take a 9mm to a bullet proof vest at mid range? that shit will knock you on the floor, yet you can full auto into human enemies and mutants and they don't even care they are being shot. Humans only react on headshots.

Okay, so real question, most of the uniques are NOT like Clusterf*ck where the stat changes are obvious. Most of them are identical, like AR416 has SOFOD and the Unknown's uniques. Are most of those just funny names and skins that have no actual unique stats except for being more expensive to repair?

It would be nice for GSC to make the effort to give the extra koupons for those so far in and have completed the quests. It keeps track of all completed quests so I am sure it’s doable. But this just seems like punishment and like no one playtested the game given how bad the economy and rewards were. What a horrible experience.
