Yeah as much as I've loved my experience so far it's difficult to disagree. It's empty, bloodsuckers jump you for no reason even though they're a rare mutant.

It seems to not work / exist in stalker 2, you don't get very many if any roaming stalkers / groups of stalkers who fight amongst themselves

Sorry not sure with AMD , you can also try running stalker in DX 9 see if that helps. Also there is a mod that skips shaders might help too

the thing that people think is broken is the persistent element, a life in older stalker games had persistent groups of npcs moving around all over the map. You would then run into these groups, this appears to be lacking in stalker 2

No Alife is not here, stalker spawn in front of you . Alife suppose to be that stalkers live in the zone. So they there always doing something. Walking from zone to zone and etc. S2 spawns them when you around. Its all scripted, trigger based. And non of other Stalked done that, thats why it felt alive

Good night everyone. Just to check, is anyone else having problems on "Just Like The Old Days" mission? I can't talk to Prof Lodochka, he seems to be inside his bunker but we won't come out to talk nor even let me in. Also when I get the call to go help Zalissya, there's nothing there, just a bunch of friendly NPC's stuck inside city hall (locked doors)... There's no rail to apply optics on. Haven't been able to buy any from traders, there's no option at the mechanic to put a rail on, and I haven't found any kalashnikovs that do have an optic. At least, Drowned isn't capable of having an optic.

Did you played Stalker Anomaly ? Gamma or EFP ? That is Alife at its best. You have a mission to kill a Stalker ? You see him walking from zone to zone on the map. Do not have time to kill him, just wait he might get shot or eaten by Chimera and you get all the rewards lol

Do you think it's a difficulty thing? I seem to have had a few random encounters, usually bandits. But I did get ambushed by 2 bloodsuckers, 30 minutes of attempts later and I was rescued by a ward patrol. That being said I did manage to walk from duga to zalyssia while over encumbered without so much as a hint of danger. Except that deer I ran into

I think the issue was calling it A-life when A-life was something way more complex in the older games

Hey I dont know if anyone else has found this money glitch in stalker 2, but if you go to a vendor put one item in to sell, then drag one of the vendors stackable items into the buy section and then while the amount pop up has appeared click sell. This for some reason counts what you put into the buy section as if you are the one selling it.

No its just no Alife . As I said its trigger based now. There is a circle somewhere and when you enter that circle it will triger a code asking for random or not enemies to spawn .

A life isnt supposed to be random
in A-life in OG stalker, the enemies would spawn every 5-10 minutes at their base, and be 'sent' out to different PoIs
You could either meet them on the way there, or meet them once theyve arrrived

It is frustrating, but the one explanation I have, is that in the OG games the regions were divided into multiple load zones while in this one it's one big map without load zones. Of course in anomaly and such you could still see the icon moving around, but I think its probably easier to load one actor in a much smaller zone than multiple all across one contiguous map

I prefer buckshot, in "stalker" difficulty it takes about 6 shells to down a bloodsucker and 2-4 for most other mutants. Except burers. The new system works the same as the old system. The old system did not have enemies wandering the map, they were simulated in an offline state and would just move from node to node and if multiple groups were on one node they would "interact", then when the player got close they would spawn in.

It's the same as the current implementation, except the radius is too small and it tends to be buggy in how it moves the units around.

Yeah it is pretty frustrating. I'm on a 4070 mobile GPU and the game runs the same for me on both low and max settings. The lighting is also really buggy and looks bad a lot of the time. It's such a lame gimmick. Devs can eat a bag of d*cks. A scripted emission + chimera encounter, this shit blows. Not only that, but Chimera has more HP than Pseudogiants from previous games. 4 AR mags, 2 shotgun mags, it still wasn't dead.

Cool. Man this game is gorgeous so far, and I'm really liking how the fights actually reward you with loot now instead of a few bandages and a chance to get a medkit like in the old games. But the old games have a special spot in my heart so all of them and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 are excellent

My issue isn't the intelligence but the spawns. I cleared an area and walked around said area for a while and had to repeatedly kill the same enimes over and over again cause they would just spawn back in behind me

Yep. Best part - I'm close to being overencumbered, so I can't even strafe it's attacks. "Muh hardcore" - devs when deciding to lower player damage on veteran difficulty by 25% as well as increase monster hp x4.

Think a lot of enemies drop broken weapons. Which does seem weird given their usage of said weapons doesn't come with any problems but health on weapon makes me think they should be having issues.

Well you can pay out of your own pocket to fix them up and sell them for less than you paid to fix them, they don’t want your broken guns and they won’t want to fix them up to sell them same as you don’t, and you aren’t exactly selling the parts either, wait for the gun dismantling mod.

I don't think killah can have an intellectually honest debate, so I'll refrain. TLDR, nobody cares that artifacts are common. Everyone is probably running around with at least five they're trying to utilize. We're only saying that functional weapons should have value. That's literally it.

not to mention there are areas even in the starter zone that have spawns of mobs that drop very good gear for low tier with full durability that can be farmed on zone resets, if u were to do a loop of the starting zone and collect all the artifacts and weapons for the higher tier spawns, you woulld prolly walk away with 60k easy
