It is a system that keeps all NPCs and mutants simulated throughout the entire game and allows them to feel real because they basically are. It lets you come across people you have already seen later on with more gear or less gear than before. You could play entire days and see someone you met weeks ago in a fight with some monolith or mutants or something. It was a REALLY important system for the games overall fun.

As an experiment I've just tried to set all graphics settings to low, no frame generation or nvidia low latency enabled. I am on a high-end machine with a 4090. What I dont understand is why the framerate completely sinks when I just stand in one spot and move the camera around. It goes from being in the 120+ range to like < 20 and becomes extremely choppy. The faster I move the camera , the more the FPS drops. Can anyone reproduce this?

Here is a tip I wanna share that does have tiny side quest spoilers: If you take the mission from ||Nightingale|| to ||Kill more dogs than him. Let the dogs down him, he will survive but drop his fully repaired AK with some ammo. You can then rez him and get paid for killing more since he was downed and he wont ask for his gun back.||

Meh, depends what You like. If You're used to Stalker anomaly gamma then idk, S2 will seem very shallow and basic. It looks pretty good, the gunplay is satisfying enough, it likes to crash every now and then. The map is pretty awesome, there is stuff all over the place and it feels very open as You play. But yeah, there is a fair bit of jank.

Yeah, in some ways. Chernobylite is very close quarters and restrictive though. But i wish S2 had some sort of way to build/customize a hideout similar to Chernobylite or even Gamma.
