When I was using the 7 car montagne train, I assigned the specialist that added +1 car making it an 8 car train. When I reassigned the specialist to a different train it went back down to 7 cars as expected. BUT, it now only counts each delivery as if the train only had 6 cars. It still holds 7 cars full of material but only delivers 6.. Seemingly there is a double subtraction issue when reassigning the specialist that causes this error.

Even with "wait for full unload" selected, the train refuses to unload the 7th car and only counts 6 cars as being delivered
I'd like a video of that happening please.
I will try to reproduce it as soon as I can
@ornate raptor So I have figured out the problem, and I may have perceived it as a bug, but it was actually just a feature that I did not notice.
It was in level 8 where I was delivering passengers between Kalamata & Athens. Without hovering over the Kalamata and Athens icon, I did not realize that Athens accepts up to 8 passengers/items (without waiting for the counter to decrease over time) and that Kalamata only accept up to 6 passengers/items. This meant that any train of length 7 or above could not deliver all 7+ passengers to Kalamata at once, without using the wait for full unload feature that I had forgotten about. I feel like it would be useful if that was the default value when configuring passenger trains, instead of the regular unload. Anyways, the 8 car train left 2 passengers in limbo who could never be delivered since the station couldn't handle a more than 6 passengers (without the wait for full unload)
I know it is not a big deal so I apologize. But perhaps it can be something to note down for future level design? 🤷 Athens required 40 passengers for the objective, so I figured an 8 car train taking only 5 trips would do the trick, but I didn't realize that was not possible with the Kalamata city, unless wait for unload was selected.
Watch "Example of the passenger behavior that was not immediately apparent" on Streamable.
I randomly noticed during my initial playthrough that some passenger couldn't be unloaded in Athens and it was very confusing, but now I have realized why!
Some cities there are smaller, others are larger and accept more Passengers in one go. Unequal delivery numbers math is everyone's nemesis 🙂
Yes. Just hadn't quite realized that mistake 😅 It was unfortunate that I noticed the unequal numbers right as I was reassigning a specialist, so I got thrown off 😆
Would it be possible to add a small number next to the delivery options on cities so we know in advance how many units can be received and avoid this situation?
It is true cities can accept a different from the initial requests' amount of resource units. We will think about that.
