Im new to the game, im R9, my opponent was a fortress spammer, i got all containers in scout except 2, I'm pretty sure i had more resources, I spammed armadillos to counter. I attack when i max my cp (lvl3 hq) but was defeated by fortresses and cyclones. So i max another army with armadilos and procupines (lvl4 hq cp) but they had zeus and more cyclones so i lost. IDK how i had more troop tho. also my armadilos were r9 maxed

You went to counter his previous combo and he got to you with a new combo, that's a scouting issue, scout more frequently

In such cases, remember, zeus has a good splash radius where it would be able to hit around 2 units at the same time, try to spread your armadillos or your army when attacking them (like make a 1 cell gap between units and attack, they will be less clumped up units)

dragonflies are good against all confederate vehicle assault
also good against cyclones
if the enemy isn't producing heavy assaults or anti air go for them as support and scout

You didnt have scouts, the back side of the base was also open for scouting while the confederation player knew what you were doing

also you went jaguars sacrificing your production while his army won, this is not a good idea, should have kept armadillo production from both factories

for porcupine, try to keep it from the far side and not a direct engagement into the zeus

Its not attack but defensive manoeuvre to cover multiple area for cyclone spams, u could also try it in attack to get less aoe dmg on ur porcs but its a high skill cap movement where u need fast micro and not recommended for low rank players

Its also one of the reasons y i still use riflemen in r17, porcs r spread out and dont die to zeus and torrent atks while riflemen becomes bait and target for these units

In fact, very high rank players use hold and move position buttons for literally every unit, from porc, jags, mammoths, to even riflemen to spread them out to get less aoe dmg on them from enemies like fortress and fire assaults

Even conf does the same

I was talking about this, it is not always good for attacking but it helps save ur units that u dont want to get area damage by bunching up

Like porcupines

Rather than offensive, its more correct to say its a defensive maneuver when u r expecting enemy to charge into u, or for example u initially place ur army like this, then use some bait units like coyote or salamander to pull enemy army towards ur position so that ur army completely surrounds charging enemy army

As u can see with how many buttons i need to press, that it is a high skill cap move that not every newbie player does correctly

Sometimes u miss something else by focusing too much on unit placement and it becomes a disadvantageous move instead so its not always recommended but u will need experience to decide when u want to use a manoeuvre like this

Generally if u want to save ur porcs and dont want them to charge and die to zeus then this is a good move

I know how to spread my unit when defending, but when I attack they always mess up the formation
