It is known that having a random partner can often lead to losses or make the game more challenging, as the player may be inexperienced, use their own tactics, or communicate in a different language. Therefore, managing this situation is crucial.

While there won't be a specific guide for a premade lobby, as players typically have pre-planned gameplay and tactics, many general tactics, tips, and tricks can still be beneficial for a premade lobby as well.

#

==============[Communication]===============

  • Always communicate with your partner using messages in the text bar; premade messages are especially helpful as they are automatically translated into other players' languages.
  • Utilize pings for communication, with commonly used pings including:
  • Any ping on HQ, indicating a need to upgrade the HQ.
  • Pinging a nearby water source is equivalent to instructing someone to scout the water and produce units there.
  • Pinging on a specific enemy building serves as a notification to your partners about the potential units the enemy might deploy.
  • Pinging on a specific passage suggests moving in that direction or keeping an eye on that route based on the type of ping used.
  • Avoid chatting extensively with your partner using the keyboard. Many random partners may not know English, and typing could lead to confusion or distract them from the ongoing battle. Even if they know English, it's advisable to use short messages that can be quickly understood. For example: "blue hammer," "green rush," "red bombers."
  • Always share information during battle:
  • If someone has a starter pack or premium, share the rank of each enemy so the team knows who to target first and can plan accordingly.
  • If a player has questions about something in the game, always provide answers to ensure the best results in battle.
  • Inform the team about anything spotted in the enemy base, even if it's on your side of the map and may not directly affect them most of the time. Information is valuable, as a player might join your army to attack the enemy, or the enemy may redirect their forces toward your allies by chance.
#

==============[Location On Map]=============

  • Adapt your play style based on your map location, as a specific gameplay approach is never guaranteed to succeed. Plan your strategy before the game, but be prepared to adjust based on your spawn location, as using a predetermined tactic may lead to a lost game.
  • When your base is spawned at the front of ally bases near the enemy, prioritize a land-based strategy to become the main force of the army. Opting for a support or aviation tactic may result in struggles against enemies in front with a strong land army, or your team may face a shortage of land units.
  • If your base is near water, playing with a navy strategy is essential for the team's success. Ignoring water completely can lead to losses, as the enemy may control all containers and overpower you.
  • In lower ranks, it's possible to scout water for containers and play land or aviation, as players often have weak navies. Going full navy might not always be the most beneficial strategy in these situations.
  • When your base is located at the back of other bases or in a corner of the map, choosing aviation would be the best choice. You can fully commit to your aviation without worrying about being rushed or crushed by an enemy land army. In this case, focus on providing air support in any fight, offering map control, and scouting the enemy base.
  • In matches where base placement is mirrored (meaning you and the other player have the same distance and situation), it's better to have a balanced ratio of land and air units. React to your enemies' choices, as going only aviation carries a significant risk. Bases have distance, and any misstep or a large army attacking your base could lead to defeat, especially if ally units can't reach you in time or at all, and they cant leave their base vulnerable to other enemies.

==========[Work With your partner]===========

If your partner is pursuing their own strategy:

  1. Guide your partner's tactic:
  • Send messages and use pings to suggest changes in tactics, guiding your partner to synchronize with your strategy. Many players are not as confident in themselves in comparison to other games, making them more likely to trust your calls.
  1. Adapt your own tactic:
  • If your partner is stubborn or inexperienced, and they do not communicate, you have two potential approaches:
  • Ignore and play your best game: Focus solely on your strategy and try to win the game independently. Although challenging, it is possible.
  • Adapt to your teammate's play style: Adjust your approach to enhance your teammate's strategy. For instance, if your partner is making specific units, try to build units that synergize well with theirs.

An example of adapting to your teammate's play style is illustrated in a personal 2v2 game where the partner consistently produced 3 Cayotes at a time with 2 supply centers, remained at HQ2, and didn't follow any calls. Despite the apparent disadvantage, the game was won by adjusting the strategy. Instead of sticking to the initial plan, units like Dragonfly and Grenadier were built, creating a powerful early-game army that synergized effectively with the Cayotes, resulting in an unbeatable combination.

=============[Your Base On Fire]==============

What to do when your base is under attack:

In situations where a comeback is possible, a partner has lost hope, players often contribute to making an easily winnable game difficult by leaving with a chance of coming back. Here are some strategies to employ when facing the destruction of your base:

  • Strategic Unit Deployment: Avoid creating new units unless you can relocate them to the ally base or they can significantly slow down the enemy's attack. The goal is to buy enough time to generate income that exceeds the unit cost or to eliminate sufficient enemy units to make the effort worthwhile.

  • Resource Conservation: Minimize resource expenditure to save for later base rebuilding. There may be exceptions to this rule, as mentioned above.

  • Timely Use of Boosts: Preserve your HQ and building reconstruction boosts until your ally has cleared your base location of enemy forces. Randomly using boosts without vision can lead to unfortunate encounters with waiting enemy armies. Remember, HQ boosts are one-time use, and afterward, building a new HQ costs 1000 resources.

#

==========[Aftermath Of Your Base]===========

After your base location is secured and cleared of enemy forces, proceed with the following instructions:

  • Efficient HQ Boost Management:
  • You don't have to wait for the HQ to finish building and upgrading to change the HQ boost to something else. Utilize one HQ boost quickly and then apply another boost promptly to maximize efficiency.

Post-Rebuild Options: After successfully rebuilding your base, consider two options based on your ally's condition.

  1. Spam Strategy:
  • If your ally is strong enough, create early units in large quantities, combine them with your ally's army, and launch a joint attack on the enemy base to maximize effectiveness.
  1. Progress Strategy:
  • If your ally just barely saved you and is not in a position to attack the enemy base, focus on progressing and becoming strong again. With HQ 3, use saved resources to upgrade to HQ 4 and maintain high-tier production. Avoid building more than 5 supply centers, as the game has already passed halfway, and additional supply centers won't have time to generate resources. Also, refrain from creating low-tier units against a high-tier enemy army, as they won't be effective.
#

===========[Interactions With Ally]============

Shield/Fog and Mole's repair:

  • These effects apply to allied units similarly to how they affect your units. Therefore, you can move Shield or Fog or Mole to ally units to assist them if they don't have one.

Building Space:

  • In maps where the space between bases is limited, be considerate of your allies' building space. Try to expand outward so that other players always have sufficient space to construct their buildings.

Help for Partner in Need:

  • Various strategies can catch players off guard, and if they're not prepared, a battle can be decided before it even begins. In such situations, a partner's assistance can be crucial.
  • When an ally is under a rush, send reinforcements to disrupt the attack and save them. If facing a heavy air raid, deploy anti-air units. In naval failures, support your ally to prevent the loss of their base and avoid setbacks that could impact them throughout the remainder of the game, making recovery difficult.
#

==============[Not-To-Do List]===============

  • Don't take your ally's side containers. If you spot one, ping your ally to scout it. The only exception is when your ally did a poor job collecting them, and taking containers means the enemy won't take them.
  • Don't attack ally bases or units. The only exceptions are when your ally is attempting to destroy you, and destroying them is the last option to avoid further harm. Always try to resolve the issue through communication; physical engagement only helps the enemy team. Another exception is when they ask you to destroy a stuck unit that only takes up space and CP.
  • Avoid in-battle dramas and toxicity. Everyone can have a bad game, including yourself. Anyone can get matched against a stronger enemy that counters their every move. Toxic behavior only exacerbates the problem and wastes time on typing instead of making plans or focusing on playing better.
  • Don't leave in the middle of battle. We understand that life happens, but please try to play during times when life is least likely to interrupt. Leaving the game imbalances and ruins the experience for 5/3 people.
  • As mentioned before:
  • Don't build within your ally's construction yard range.
  • Don't leave the match after your base is gone.
  • Don't send a unit to the ally's side big container to steal resources from it. Unless you want an army force firing at your buildings to repay those resources, it is extremely frustrating for an ally to spend a lot of resources to secure the first big container only to find out that they received half of what they worked for.

=========[Aftermath Of Enemy Base]==========

Deny Enemy Reconstruction of Base:

  • After completely destroying the enemy base, always leave a unit behind to monitor any attempts at reconstruction, preferably 2 tier-2 infantry or a single tank strong enough to independently destroy the HQ without the need for additional units nearby.
  • When you move your army to the next enemy base, the opponent who just lost their base may assume that you've relocated your entire army, thinking it is safe to rebuild without realizing you've left a unit behind.

In case that a second attack on next enemy is not possible:

  • In certain situations, it may be necessary to keep all the units within the destroyed enemy base to thwart any attempts at a comeback by enemy forces trying to free their teammate. Assume a defensive position to secure control.
  • In your defensive position, place your anti-air in front and your main army behind it. This way, when enemy fighters attempt to attack, they get destroyed quickly and are unable to hit your main army. Additionally, anti-air has the highest vision range, allowing it to detect enemy land armies faster. Try not to lose your main army to fighters, as after an air raid, a land fight usually follows, and damaged units won't help you win the defense.
  • Try to buy as much time as possible:
  • To heal your unit to full HP and integrate the newly created unit with your existing forces.
  • For your allies to move to the strategic location ASAP and create an advantage.
