They had mentioned that for anyone that earned a reward they had previously received, legendary scrolls would be substituted. It's not something I've seen personally, but believe I also unknowingly received...

That's true. If you receive a duplicate skin from the loyalty skin chest, you get 5 scrolls for a random legendary unit. So good luck grinding all these 😋

It is any skin from the skin chest or the skin gifting rewards that you already have. The 5 legendary scrolls that replace it appear to be randomized.

I've still not earned legendary scrolls in place of skins. I've earned scrolls for other units. It is what it is I guess...

@errant shadow - As folks mentioned here, if you end up hitting a skin you've already earned (on both accounts! I think there is an edge case if you earned it as a viewer before becoming a Captain) you get legendary scrolls as a replacement.
