Amd cpu naming is lost on me
7320u is ass
I know that much
It's zen 2 architecture which can't be good
Yeah the 7000 laptop chips are practically a scam
Maybe not all of them but certainly the lower spec ones
You can lower it down to 72$ if you buy z790 mobo

If it has a 1 or 2 in the 3rd number it means it's really old ryzen
It's not real 7000 series
Some are still good with a 3 in it
The naming scheme is really dumb, it's "7000" but it's not "Zen 4"
They can't even follow their own scheme properly, even they themselves get confused about it
I will say tho, for 400 you won't do a whole lot better than this tbf
I would consider a used laptop personally
It's not until about the 700-800 mark that new ones get truly worth it
so i bought this for $480
i thought it was a steal......
its a 7530... if its a scam lmk
It's a bit better, though not 200 better than the other one imo
I wouldn't call these scams btw, just I wouldn't call them full desktop worthy cpus
im only using this for studying while in school
For 150 more you can often afford a 4050 laptop
4050 = 3060m
I guess I should shift gears a bit here. Calling it a scam is wrong @burnt prawn however I would rarely call those all in one laptops worth it
It's really hard to justify the hardware performance in something like that
They're business laptops, great for basic work for years, not for exploring the bounds of what a pc can do though
You could probably find something like an old zephyrus or gf63 for 500 with a 3060 in it
The low range gaming laptops hold up really well
where?
pairing a 12400f with a z790 is funny tho
thats quite a nice deal
Yeah but I gonna pair it with B760 mobo which I bought in another combo
and pair that z790 with 12700k that I bought with b760

I am so tempted, so many good deals these days
might flip my b660 and i3 since local market is so inflated

Yeah 12th gen CPUs are decent nowadays. Microcenter have better combos usuallybut it's local only so . We have newegg combos to save day
Microcenter doesn't ship internationally, rip
I don't complain, amazon puts some good deals every once in a while
bought my 2060 almost two years ago brand new for 140$
yea, i have a nice gaming pc and just need to get done with school, so I decided to get a touch screen laptop that i think will last for years cuz i probs got 2 yrs of school left to knock out
thanks for the info! i appreciate the heads up and if i regret not returning my laptop...
o7
xD
have a good night!
12700kf b760 ds3h was $215 last week lol
Yeah I have that combo so I will switch mobos
5700x a520m plus wifi is $265, and comes with a free 1tb sata ssd
it's really hard to resell them so I ignored it
with a good sale 600 can get you something pretty good imo
this deal still going on at microcenter
I got my acer nitro 5 with an 11400h/3050ti for $400 off of ebay
Used gaming laptops are a play, sometimes it's harder to find good general use lappys used cause people hold onto them for longer
Negatives like ?
27 inch 4k would be weird
yeah . 32 inch alright for 4k
I still hanging on with qled panels
ultrawide 4k oleds wen
Nothing in computex ?
g9 oled is still 2k
The benefit of 4k is higher pixel density, to give clearer and more defined images
At 27", it's hard to tell the difference between 1440p and 4k
The downside of 4k is that it requires much more out of the gpu to run, as it's rendering a lot more pixels
This means you either turn settings down, or lose fps
Or both
Yeap i want to use it in 3d modeling so no benefit ?
Yes i agree with you in gaming but maybe for blender its better
Seeing clearer images
Zero benefit if that's what you're hunting for
Just do 1440p
If you need a higher fidelity, go 32" 4K
You can if you can run that
Nice thanks
M28u or 32"
It still doesn't add a whole lot to modelling beyond some finer detail
Nothing that zooming in can't do
28" is the absolute bare minimum, and even then it's hard to see a difference
I will invest in that
You'd have to be sitting very close to your monitor
Better than a 4k tv
Like face pressed against the screen
Lol
4k at 32" has higher pixel density than 1080p at 24"
Honestly sitting at a desk, 4K at 42" looks really sharp even up close
1080p 24" was pretty much the standard till a few years ago
Like that's how much I'm emphasising how little 4k will help here
Bigger desk đ
Wow
I sit about 2 feet from the screen
So looking at it takes up a good 30 degrees-ish of my field of vision
It's honestly really sharp
Like 32" I would say is still 1440p territory in it's own right really
Why am I being pedantic about this? Cos only 2 or 3 gpus can even moderately handle 4k if you do anything gaming lol
Yeah agree
Cos otherwise you'd be buying a 4k60 right?
I mean if you're still prepared to do it, alr
But I'd consider oled imo
For that sort of money oled will have a bigger impact than 4k
For editing and modelling
500$ max budget
Colour accuracy >>>>
There was a $540 one like 2 days ago
Very good one too
I would 100% take that over m32u
Oled is just OP af for colour work
Rip the sale seems to be maybe gone
This is $600 tho
Yeah
Would be worth stretching imo
Oled is literal endgame for colour work
For gaming too, for that matter
Ye
Thanks for your help
Use a throwaway secondary
I will waiting for a good deal
Like literally anything with a hdmi for second screen imo
Shame we weren't two days earlier haha
Nah
Oled came out in like
2010? Lol
We are seeing the first monitors of eventual maturity here
They've come a long way
Thats what i am saying hhhh
So Oled now IS better than apple monitors retina ?
For cheap Price
Ooo I'd have no idea
I haven't seen a current day retina
I have seen retina and it's good but idk about the apple pro ones
People shying away from 6 core dual ccd probably
"7800X3D is the fastest" is convincing enough for most people lol"
7900x3d more capable for people who work and game on single pc
Check this out on @Newegg:Yeyian Gaming Desktop Tanto NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070- AI Integrated Intel Core i5 13th Gen 13400F (2.50GHz) 16GB DDR5 1 TB PCIe SSD Windows 11 Home 64-bit YPI-TA34F0B-4701U https://www.newegg.com/yeyian-ypi-ta34f0b-4701u-tanto/p/N82E16883630033?Item=N82E16883630033&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-83-630-033-_-06132024
It looks like a good price with ZIP
what yall think?
After the zip discount that's about what it would cost to build it yourself
yea after tax it goes for 1115, pretty decent
I'd make sure to read the terms of zip to see if there's things like fees or interest and what the payment structure looks like
Do you think it will bottleneck? checked on a website it says %20
Bottleneck calculators are useless
It's fine
The only issue I see is the memory
2x8GB is worse than 1x16GB on DDR5
it says Memory Spec 16 GB x 1 so need to buy another one to make it better 16 x 1 right?
The pictures show 2 sticks so who knows what you'll get
If you do get a single 16GB stick you can toss another one in there to get 32GB total. We can help pick the right one out once you have it, it should be under $50.
oh gotcha, appreciate it I'm about the check this ZIP, it looks like doesn't charge fees nor interest compared to affirm
https://www.techpowerup.com/323572/us-government-sanctions-deepcool-over-supplying-to-blacklisted-russian-firms If you've bought deepcool, you support Russia!!
jk
Hold on
I should run to my microcenter
Deepcool more like Deep State amiright
||don't take that as an invitation for a political argument||
I wonder
does this also mean Thermalright?
Considering it said 13 other companies
16*
The 16 companies it's referring to are Chinese companies that are recently sanctioned
Here's those 16 companies https://ofac.treasury.gov/media/932936/download?inline
One of which is a category that basically says "anyone we missed"
Deep state? More like Atlantis
Because water cooling
That wasn't funny but I spent a solid minute trying to come up with something funnier and couldn't
u rite
So you get that
@azure pond You really should trim those links
Miss the $60 2tb ssds
Yeah
i wonder why everyone selling 7900x3d for cheap lol
They didn't sell well to begin with and I have a feeling the new AMD non X3D CPUs will have nearly equal gaming performance. So they have to clear out inventory.
Worth an upgrade from 7600X? Or wait for a 9000 series? Or wait to see if prices fall for 7800X3d later? Iâm in no need for it. Purely a âwantâ situation, lol.
Wait imo
Can jump to 9000x3d
Though frankly 7600x doesn't really struggle with any hardware yet at 1440p
Yeah, im only really playing 1 game right now and it doesnât even hardly register on either cpu or gpu, on max settings. But it is a 20+ yr old game originally developed for consoles, lol.
It's the black sheep of the family. Most people would either prefer to have all 16 cores or have a single X3D CCD.
7900x3d games fine still preferable over vanilla zen4 parts
Also one time it was almost same price as 7800x3d
I would take the better multi core performance and just use lasso to direct games on what ccd to use
I agree, to a point. The 7800X3D does still beat it in games, and so does the 7950X3D.
Though after the latest chipset driver update most of the stuttering issues I've seen have been fixed.
Yeah the new scheduler seems to have made things a good degree better
Like it wasn't bad before, but you could definitely tell what struggled more easily
Everything just feels more smooth
built that 7900x3d recently and it's amazing pcu for its price . handing both gaming and workload great
just have to configure bunch of things to get good gaming performance
I haven't needed to use process lasso as much after that last chipset update. Make sure you're up to date, it dropped a few days ago.
The worst offender I had was Forever Skies where it would hang for a good half second every minute or so, even with process lasso. That's basically gone now, except when it's loading into a new area since it's a "no loading screens" game.
It was even worse if I alt tabbed out of the game and came back but that's also fixed.
Koorui 24E3 or whatever it's called is basically the only option
It's almost prime day, you could wait and get a decent 144hz 1080p monitor
interesting
what day would that be?
Actually, I believe i heard today is the start of âWalmart Plusâ day. Idk what they have. Itâs basically walmarts version of prime day.
Yep! Also seems to be all week. Not just a day or two.
You already can
Without special sales
Good monitor too
There is big sale on Radeon GPUs (via amazon) sold by baseball cap-shop, 10,500 reviews 4.6/5 stars. Is this legit?
Mmmm
That shop itself has a CN address and 8 reviews
I saw that shop, tread with caution, I suspect big scam
Thank you
Baseball cap shop definitely sells gpus
Definitely don't buy from them tho
@azure pond would that build work for this guy
Ye
There's also
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hPdhHG
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Radeon RX 6750 XT, SAMA ARGB-Q5 MicroATX Mini Tower
It includes mobo, psu, and ssd
It's more of a graphics game lol
Dunno what settings you're running helldivers 2 at but my CPU never reached past 65% utilization
On all low except for render distance
Utilization isn't the entire story though, not all games can use all the cores/threads
I wouldn't be surprised if Helldivers is cpu heavy because of how many "ai"/cpu/non-player enemies there are
Dude im maxing out my cpu every time
11800h
idk what the issue is, it also could be the fact that my laptop has horrible power usage
not really. My taskmanager sees it more as a cpu heavy game
The issue is that you're using Task Manager
also that
but my laptop also crashes the moment I try and Tab out for anything
*Game crashes
damnit maybe it is just my computer
That's also a laptop CPU
The desktop 12400F would be about 15% better at gaming when only looking at CPU data
I would bet your laptop has a poor power limit for when the CPU and GPU are both in use
very likely
The battery life is already horrid so i wouldnt doubt the power usage is just as bad
You can delete everything after the ? in a link like that, it's just metadata like tracking and promos
Yep like that
Amazon you can delete ref=
Same concept
So you've got a 45W (max) CPU and a 95W (max) GPU but a 230W charger
Nice Acer, real nice ||/s||
You'd think based on raw specs
But the issue is twofold, that's PEAK power draw, not sustained, it reduces the limit after a short time, and when both the CPU and GPU are in use the limits are much lower. Probably 25W and 65W.
Which you'd never know by looking at the charger wattage alone because it provides double the power you'd ever really use
wait the issue isnt the actual charger??
I mean, i would assume the actual frame of the laptop is at fault, being a "thin" computer
it heats up quite fast actually. There is TURBO mode to increase fan usage
That's the issue. It can only hold the peak power for a little bit of time before it has to cut the limit down to prevent overheating. That in turn reduces your clock speeds, which can make it appear like you're maxing out the CPU when in fact it's just a gimped CPU
ic
I didnât scroll up earlier but this is also probably the issue
The game is typically heavy on both (depending on the specs of the PC)
I wouldn't trust that seller
It's a scam attempt I bet
Amazon LLC lol
Oh wait
Quick googling tells me it's amazon
Just the amazon global branch
Still something smells off
legit

What do you guys think of this windows 11 pro offer in sweatcoin?
If it's $40 that's meh, if its $5 then it's good
Its 40
It's easy to find legit keys for $20, the sketchy ones are $5
Due to server rules neither shall be linked
Petition to allow linking to oem keys
the price changed to where it should be hence shows amazon now
I just realized that the last 2 words are ĺ Źĺ¸ which means company, so it's literally just xxxxxxcompany
seen it cheaper
Hold out as long as possible. H8 win11. Started with a new company and their machines are all win11. I wanna throw mine out the window.
You can make 11 look like 10 but probably can't on an office PC if the IT guys have any brains
That's still a lot
And imo, with what they're doing to windows I don't know if it's even worth paying for a license at all but that's a separate issue
Been a year since I made my first build and I still have no active windows license
Our wi-fi is gonna come with some booster routers for me and my parents. Would connecting my PC to ethernet on it be better than getting a better WiFi card?
Also, having a weird issue where sometimes my taskbar goes blank and my mouse starts to kinda look like itâs processing something when I click it. I think it might be a processor issue but what do you guys think
Connecting via ethernet is in almost every way better than connecting via wifi.
i figured lol, takk
Is 10gb vram gonna hold up for 5 years?
no
Fek
I'll just splurge next year then and save
By then, older high end gpus are bound to be cheaper
Ive got 10 and I see games nearly chew all it up at only 2k resolution
Lol, I have 6 and 2k resolution
ouch
7900xt for 350 used when
Pls bro. I'm depending on it
Then studios will want 24 gigs as a standard
Yeah to run those LLMs in the background so you can talk to NPCs
Better than mining in the background xD
@cinder kiln
Wuh ping
I told you about that case months ago bacca lol
Oh wait
No maybe I didn't
Nvm
I know this case and yes it's great
Front holds the PSU, But you can intake plenty of air elsewhere
Kinda like smaller ap201
Pretty much, but it's invertible and a lot smarter with the space
I like this case tbh. I have it and Iâm using it as my server case
makes me kinda regret getting my pc case, but then again I regret my entire pc
What's your PC specs? (And case lol)
i5 13500, 32gb ddr4, 3070, 5tb in ssds, and ap201
It's really the cpu/mobo/ram combo that I got that I regret
Definitely could've gotten better specs if you had like 2-3TB less in storage lolll
The AP201 isn't that bad
But the specs aren't too bad either tbh
it's not bad, but it's massive for an matx case
It is lol. I think Lian Li collaborate with another SFF case manufacturer to make basically a smaller AP201 (I could be way off on that collab)
My problem is that I upgraded to the 13500 when I could've gotten my cousin to ship over a microcenter bundle for the same price.
next pc I'm getting is either going to be massive or tiny
https://a.co/d/05RivJK8
Yeah, Lian Li and DAN
MODEL: A3W COLOR: White CASE TYPE: MFF (Micro Form Factor) DIMENSION: (D) 443mm x (W) 194mm x (H) 321.5mm (D) 443mm x (W) 194mm x (H) 306mm(w/o feet) CAPACITY: 26.3L MATERIAL: Steel MOTHERBOARD SUPPORT: M-ATX/ITX PSU SUPPORT: ATX/SFX/SFX-L (Max 220mm) FAN SUPPORT: Top: 3 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm Side...
at that point idk why you wouldn't just get an itx case lol
You'd be surprised by how difficult going small would be. I did this for my gf and now it's a pain trying to upgrade her
I don't upgrade all that often, I just get a pc and use it for a few years
Iâm basically going to have to get her a new PC atp just to upgrade her how I'd like
Around every two years for me lol
I really want to upgrade to a 1440p 240hz ultrawide monitor, but my pc can't handle it and I have no reason for it
Wait for this year's (next year's?) GPUs and get a new monitor around the same time of getting a GPU
If i'm going to upgrade at all, I'm going to sell my entire pc and just get a new one
just buy an ssd and keep the 3 that are in my pc already
I'd upgrade to the 7900xtx or similar (whatever comes out) and keep that build for a while, that way I can upgrade my monitor without worrying about performance problems
Because both itx motherboards and sfx psus are typically much more expensive than matx
$505 for itx
7600/a620itx/nr200/500w sfx
$365 for matx
7600/a520matx/sama im01/550w atx
Hey so I've been searching around for a bit, but I'd like to ask for a little help from the techies here for recommendations on laptops (or where to find them). My hope is to find a laptop within the <$600 range that can play modded minecraft and modded terraria comfortably. 16gb, >=1080p, >=60fps, and hoping for a ~3 hour battery life. Finally, the laptop MUST be new. Please just trust me, my luck with pre-owned electronics is atrocious.
do you want to play modded mc and terraria ON battery?
and what mods specifically on mc
For modded minecraft we can assume medium sized kitchen sink modpacks, ~200 mod range or thereabouts. As for on battery, the hope is yes, but not all the time
For refrence, this is what I'm currently eying
https://www.microcenter.com/product/676307/acer-nitro-v-anv15-51-54ul-156-gaming-laptop-computer-platinum-collection-obsidian-black
it's not the best thing I've ever seen
this is one of the newer acer nitros so I'm not too familiar with them
@stoic crest is the expert
I do have a acer nitro myself, its a slightly older model, but it has the same gpu
(possibly the 4gb vram model idrk)
and I can tell you that it will NOT last 3 hours
I'm dumb, and didn't word it properly. I hope for 3 hours on casual day to day actions (YouTube, Chrome tabs, word, school work), not for gaming applications
If youâre not gaming, nitros arenât for you
I don't really pay attention, but when I do school and such online on my laptop, it will last around 2-3 hours ish
He did say it's for gaming, but he wants 3 hours of battery for other tasks when he's not gaming
oh
he gonna need a beefy laptop
probably just needs a big battery tbh. Most newer laptops have strong enough systems to mod games
heck I modded skyrim on my 1660ti Dell G3 perfectly fine. that thing lasted me nearly 8 hours on battery
(light gaming on roblox tho)
afaik this is a better laptop overall compared to the acer nitro @strange anvil https://www.microcenter.com/product/663873/lenovo-loq-156-gaming-laptop-computer-onyx-grey not an expert though
Get it now! Step up your game and shatter your own expectations, whether you are gaming with your crew or working on projects. Powered by an Intel Core i5-12450H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 laptop GPU, the Lenovo LOQ 15" breaks the limits of what you'd expect from an entry-level gaming PC, with
wait
cpu is worse, but only by about 9%
dont 12th gen intel stuff have bad battery drainage
not sure
That laptop is $10 less
I was told to avoid 12th gen intel stuff due to that fact
I'll pay the 10 more for the upgrade from 12450 to 13420
honestly acer stuff isnt too good
i recomend an ASUS laptop personally
battery life on those is great
acer nitro and msi gf63 laptops are meant to have the best specs for the lowest money, and that means sacrificing on everything else
anyways, the only info that I have for laptops is when I was buying my own, therefore I am NOT an expert
So I may be dumb but I've looked on the specs for both laptops... how is it better in every other aspect? It seems equal in most other aspects?
LOQ my beloeved
Boeleveled
Be-
Boeing
What

Skill issue
Ur about to be silenced by big aviation
Noooooo
Whatever have I done noooo
You've spoken out for the last time RAAAAA
I AINT DO NOTHING NOOOO
LOQ is bae
Best value laptop 2023
(No this is not a joke)
Look, assume I have some (but not a lot) of tech knowledge... how is the loq better than the acer nitro in this example of 2 laptops?
Bigger number is not better
In fact a lot of 13th gen cpus are based on 12th gen arch
So they're often not even upgrades
Intel is deceptive
They are in fact, after a google, the same cpu
One has a slight clock boost, however, as far as overall fit and finish of both laptops
iirc the Acer was ok, but the LOQ was one of the best from last year
Nothing special, just functional and plain good
Only drawback I remember is the LOQ has a relatively slow display vs others
But it's in the realm of something unnoticeable to the naked eye
So it's still perfectly fine
I would also opt for the loq tbh
3050 is a bit lackluster
Like for 550 you could probably find a used 3060 laptop or 2070 laptop
But LOQ is usually a good buy
Used is out of the question
No ifs, ands, or buts. Please don't ask
Hey man, I gotta say it
The jump to those other two would be enormous
Like 40%+
Huge performance leap
As per my original inquiry
Look, I've been currently debating the loq vs the nitro and will continue to until maybe the end of the week when I'll bite the bullet
Who knows, maybe a better deal will show itself
So, the LOQ is recvomended by one guy because it was a good laptop, but someone else says to avoid it because 12th gen drains battery
'Appears to be the long and short of it, yeah
For a pc that looks like an old camcorder
idk how to feel about that one
120-130 fps on CSGO.. First that's CSGO, then is it on low or what đ
680m was definitely good, it's what the 6800u gaming handhelds all had, which could play cyberpunk albeit at console fps
lol the top does give camcorder vibes
if it has a thunderbolt port could hook a discrete gpu to it
320$+300$ 4060=620$
my bad forgot to count in the enclosure price
Too bad it doesn't have oculink - would be a serious sleeper deal
That $648 XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX is a little sus. It ships from an unknown seller with only 2 ratings and one of them was something to keep cupholders clean.
@dull flame I had to delete that, too many signs of scam. Amazon is full of them.
Yeah I almost fell to that scam once too lol
We've all had our bad calls
Way too "mileage may vary" to put in #tech-deals , but if you live near a micro center it may be there
Only certain stores have open box/refurb CPUs
239 for a 5800x3d does not seem like that great of a value when the 7600 is cheaper
It's an option for someone that already has AM4, since that would be a cheaper upgrade than buying a whole new platform
ig but although a bit late for in platforms upgrades for am4 because b650 and ddr5 is cheap enough imo
That's still a good $200 more, and someone that's still chugging along with a 2700X probably doesn't have all that much money
i think windows snappiness is also much better with the 7600
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-cuts-ryzen-7-7700-price-to-247-making-it-the-cheapest-am5-8-core-cpu
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 now available at $247 With Ryzen 9000 six weeks away, AMD is lowering the price of existing Zen4 processors. AMD has lowered the price of its 8-core CPU, the Ryzen 7 7700, making it the cheapest 8-core processor for the new AM5 socket. The non-X version of the 7700 launched in [âŚ]
if someone has some weird 6core allergy
Newegg have decent 12th gen combos again
link some
The newegg combos are weird, you have to build it yourself usually. It's hard to link properly.
More motherboard combos đ
GOOD GOD
The answer to that is always and without exception "it depends"
If you always have to have the latest thing, the most powerful GPU, the highest settings, then it won't last you as long as someone that's ok turning it down from ultra to high occasionally.
yeah good point
I dont really have a way to compare it tho. As long as I can boot a crap ton of programs reliably im ok
It can definitely do that
how do you check what GPU's are supported by any motherboard again?
dumb question actually ill just look it up
Every GPU that uses the standard PCIe interface will work on any motherboard with the appropriately sized PCIe slot
You can put a 4090 into a motherboard from 2010
It would be heavily limited by the bandwidth, but it would function
anyone have any newegg promo codes they can give?
Those are typically either item or account exclusive
Not that much better then vanilla zen3 like 5600x soo I would say an upgrade within 2 years would be needed if you target 60fps or more
If you need 60fps or more even in unoptimized games like dragons dogma 2 imo
An upgrade is needed immediately
Prime example of one of those people that always needs the highest settings and the latest hardware
2 years?? Broski I've had my 3600 on stock for 7 years
I'm still running well over 60fps
Maybe not 7 but you get the idea, well over 2 years
It's from Ohio of course it wouldn't ship to Canada-
that is still good to see
also sometimes depends on how excited someone is for a game
for me whatever star wars outlaws demands later this year star wars outlaws gets
Prime example of someone not knowing wtf they're talking about
Oh no I figured haha
Charitably speaking that made the most sense
I'm confused as to how the game could ask anything above recommend specs
Which I can safely assume is way below whatever he has
Almost no game would ask for a 4090 and a 12900kf
Or whatever
Apparently except starfield
slowfield
Sadfield
hopefully by the dlc launch they speed up the game performance further
How is a dlc going to do that?
Better off relying on the mods to do that anyway haha
That's how they intend the game to be fixed after their own patches
elden ring with the new dlc patch also saw performance improvements soo you never know
I doubt they'd do it
but still saw stutters time to time though
Elden ring is made by fromsoft
Starfield is made by todd howard
Mr It Just Works â˘ď¸
what are the chances of this getting restocked soon? I was going to buy this but it went out of stock
Probably within a few days or weeks
How about this deal?https://nextdoor.com/for_sale_and_free/3d5c9e73-cd39-48ca-8805-30e90d118f87?utm_source=share&extras=MTMzMDU2NzQ%3D
Equally as good as 5090
The collector side of me wants it.
Both on sale which should i get?
I donât know how hp is but i figured msi is better
By only those specs the HP one is better, but it is refurb
Since its refurb and from microcenter is that better than refurbished else where? Or do you think it would be better to spend more for new but less specs
I'd def take the victus personally
Dunno if it's microcenter refurb or HP refurb, just keep in mind the usual isrefurb usually having less warranty, usually some cosmetic damage, sometimes missing accessories
Hmm im so torn on which one to get lol.. what would you do
Victus is a good model, 4060 in that cheap of a laptop is a great deal too
Plus 32gb ram to boot
I guess i could take a chance with refurb i appreciate it
I see a gaming PC with i7 8700k, 32GB RAM, and 1080ti for 250
Should I get it? I think itâs a good deal. What do you guys think?
not that powerful
but I have basically the same thing and it runs even RE4 on medium ok
Lol he felt like he was selling it for too cheap and changed his mind
He said he willing to take 200 but he then changed his mind
hey
that's not bad
250 for all that is pretty good in its own right
normally
people ask 500 outta these
He changed his mind about selling it at 200 something lol
I shouldnât have bought that earlier cause another guy was selling the same thing for just 50. Iâll just buy the other as well one because these cases are kind of rare on the used market at such a price
This isn't the spam-scam-discussion channel
One of these couldn't come to completion sadly
Is there a spam/scam discussion channel? Lol
#general-chat usually
So from what I found with the deal
Reddit actually made this helpful w r/buildapc
Basically you can take the 7800x3d with ANY ram and ANY motherboard, and it comes out to the price.
That price would be the discounted CPU + the prices of the mobo and ram.
so even if you added a 120$ motherboard, 98$ ram kit, and the cpu, comes out cheaper than microcenters bundle.
downside is, you pay for your parts that you get.
It might be possible to buy the parts, then price match the motherboard as microcenters prices are MSRP OR you can buy the parts, return it a day later and buy it cheaper online.
Even used if you want, ngl this may be the cheapest way to get a high end pc aside from brand new gpu and trash ssd prices
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, Phanteks XT PRO ULTRA ATX Mid Tower
1300-1350 give or take after tax + white cable mods & possible part changes?
just FYI you often lose the savings when returning any part of a bundle deal.
How so? You'd return the ram and motherboard at it's original price + the split within tax
And you keep the discounted CPU
Just make sure to read the fine print if that's your plan
Most places only price match what you can buy online
https://www.ebay.com/itm/285916939732
Canât remember if I asked here
Would this be a decent grab
$315 would be the price
$415 after taxes and stuf
seems kinda mid tbh
Just wondered.
cant remember where but i remember a brand new 4060 11400f build or something in some shop for like 500 or somehting
If anyone is near the philly area this is a steal https://www.facebook.com/share/cXCDTaaXxHkGpKyv/?mibextid=kL3p88

Refurbished. No thank you
Bought from same seller. Had 18 power on cycles and 3.5 years power on
Got a 6tb in a similar manner. 50k hours đŤ
A quick search shoes the drive to be a 2014 model. I got this a year ago
So yeah, I guess that checks out
I respect whoever dare to buy refurbished HDDs lol
If it craps out the eBay seller will honor their 5 year warranty
For this seller anyways
I just put anime on the drive and use it to back up other junk
Hey if I buy the parts off new egg can new egg build the pc for me and how much would that fee be ?
I don't believe that is an option. I think you'd have to buy one of the prebuilts.
or build it yourself.
They do have a PC builder section on the website that will help make sure PC parts are compatible but I believe PcPartPicker is more popular here for putting together a list. Building a PC isn't that bad and you can learn how on youtube, or have an experienced friend help you. You could also find local PC shops and see if they could do that for you, but some of them charge exorbitant fees, so keep that in mind. Of course, we here on this discord are also here to help if you need it with any part of the process. Many users here will chime in and help with issues/questions you have while designing or building a PC.
Yea I have a place near me that can but they want to charge me over 300 bucks to build it for me
So Iâm stuck doing it my self I just nervous about messing up something
Should just try to build it yourself at that point
Mostly on the cpu
Microcenter offers building for around $100 if I recall if you really need it
CPUs are not that easy to mess up
Don't use too much force and you won't damage it
Just take it slow and careful
Learning to build one is great imo because once you learn to build it, upgrading it later on is easy. It's basically like adult legos. The only part you have to need to be really careful with is the CPU and all you do is lign up the triangles or dots and you shuoldn't have to force it in at all to put it in the slot. You do have to use some minor force to close the clasp over it though.
after that the rest is pretty easy as long as you pay attention to the labels.
Just never push on the CPU and you won't damage it
most parts can only go into certain places and in a certain way
Just drop it in place
Directions are pretty straight forward.
Everything has a certain place.
The only thing that takes a good bit of force is the 24pin power, don't use force on anything else
minor force on those cpu clasps. Everyone always thinks they're going to break em lol
Alrighty and whatâs that lol Iâm new to all this
I would lol
24pin is the large PSU wire that feeds power to the mobo
Oh yea the latch can take a bit of force too
But as long as the CPU was oriented correctly it won't do any damage
Thicc cable
Ok Iâll remember off thicc đ
I promise it seems scary the first time, but afterwards it's pretty easy. Just dont drop things and don't force things together lol
The only thing that took a little force for my fiancĂŠs pc was the nvme slotting
But it was a very janky drive
and read the mobo manual while doing it, and I usually recommend people follow a good youtube guide and ask questions here.
Everything wants to work together, if it ain't going in, it's probably not meant to go there
lol I can see my self accidentally trying to put the gpu in a ram slot imagineđđ
And I hope my case is big enough for the 4070 super
there's no way. They are completely different sizes and oriented in the complete wrong way
what case?
Ik lol thatâs why I said imagine đ
I mean I have seen people force in the wrong power wires to the wrong ports and fried components, even though they are keyed.
Donât scare me like that lol
Do you think thatâs a big enough case ?
4070 super
yeah but what brand? they can be different sizes, although the 3 fan one I'm looking at is 261mm so I think you will have plenty of room
@hidden viper make sure youâre getting the best deals on everything. Donât buy everything from one spot because of ease.
largest I can find is 307.
Same. Canât find anything bigger
Here
Would recommend using pcpp when possible
Can grab a 2tb drive that has similar practical performance for a pretty similar price
all of those would still fit his case though so he good
So itâs called pcpp?
pc part picker
Ohh
it's a website to lay out the PC parts you wanna buy and make sure they're compatible and you can compare prices and parts and stuff
Iâm slow lol
And are my parts compatible together ?
In my list
It's useful for getting cheaper prices from other storefronts
List is compatible so far
yeah they are
Is this ram good or is there better for cheaper price ?

6000c30 is the sweet spot
thats the cheapest cl30 I can find
Also gauranteed hynix, 6000c36 or worse is likely samsung
There's $93 non rgb 6000c30 atm
Both black and white from silicon power
where at
One sec
yeh I'd go with that ^^
unless you really want RGB on the ram which is unnecessary imo
Alr bet
Just so you know, to use that CPU with that Mobo, you might have to update the bios. So make sure you have another PC and a usb flash drive on hand just in case.
What cpu?
7800x3D
Any of 7000 series it's highly, highly unlikely
the 3Ds have that problem sometimes
Yeah you'd have to be getting very old stock for it to not be compatible bios
but it's still possible, so good to have on hand. He will likely need a USB for the windows installation media anyways
We just had someone recently had to do that lol
That's true, I haven't heard of it from any of the dozens of 7800x3d build lists I've helped make just to give an idea of the odds though (not trying to argue or anything just giving an idea)
Damn really?
What mobo was it if you remember
ik what you mean. But people were saying that about the 2600x too when my cousin got it and his mobo was old enough to not support it even though mine (bought from the same place and it's the same mobo) supported it out of the box lol
Tbf did your cousin alr have the mobo or did he buy a new one?
uhhhhh idr but i think it was an asus board? it had the bios flash on the left side of the I/O with a flash button to make it super easy
he bought all his pc parts new
mine were for upgrades lol
Ah
but we ended up with the same mobo but I had the 2600 and he got the 2600x to try to slightly outdo me
I had to put my cpu in his pc to update the bios.
im glad they've added the bios update usb port to motherboards, it seems as a standard?
That's funny
Not necessarily standard, just a lot more common than it used to be
alr, the last few i've looked at have had it lol.
Yeah it's nice
Another thing that's becoming more common that I love is the LED post debugger.
A lot of lesser used features have become very common
I'm deaf so using those toners are hard lmao
bruh someone mentioned that to me earlier today and I was like wtf gimme
mine has 2 and I thought I was ballin
Mine has 4
I have 3.5tb in ssd storage and 4tb in hdd storage in my pc
Just going to sell the hdd atp I don't need this much storage
I got 4tb in hdd storage, 500gb in m.2, 500 in sata SSD.
although one of my 2tb hdds is apparently on it's last leg. Like it still reads healthy and works fine, but...
people keep telling me it's gonna fail any minute lol
I have nothing
Grab that one I posted in tech deal discussions
Obviously used but everyone was talking about how their drives are still going strong
I would love to, wanna gimme the money cause I got a whopping 5 dollar in my bank account and a baby on the way đ
I have another pc incase that happens
We can combine our wealth
Yo that's some mighty fine savings you got there
When I get all this stuff in for new pc it bout to be a huge upgrade from what Iâm on rn Iâm on a i39100f and a 1650 đ
I think that's an upgrade from my specs lmao
Iâll take your spare parts
Iâm on a 550w PSU
thats it
How do you connect to the Internet and use discord on a 550w PSU by itself
Iâm not sure, but Iâm doing it
can this 550w PSU run doom?
Using your phone is cheating
Fr
lol
ok so your cpu is slightly better than mine but somehow the 970 is better than a 1650? weird.
Yeah
Slightly
The issue with the 970 would be the lack of driver support, so it'll be hard to run modern games since there's no driver optimization
I mean I don't really have that many issues with it at all. I do wanna upgrade it again though. I gave my 2070 to my brother a couple years ago for christmas lol
@jolly inlet what gpu do you recommend that isnât bad for modern games and has support for things like dx12/rtx, but isnât too expensive
The 1070 should be easy to find for $120
What would be a single step up from that, do you reckon?
2060 super maybe
Thatâs pretty reasonable
Where the heck is 4th deals lol . I was looking for some but theres Literally nothing
I saw a few 40% off
on Amazon basic stuff
Fireworks are BOGO
Yeah at least we can watch fireworks
Everyone is waiting for the real (/s) holiday to compete with Prime Day
@cinder kiln is this worth posting?

Gpu is basically just a display out
That's kinda nice tbh
Basic pc, basic things, but six core ryzen
Seller checks out
Whatâs the difference between the 2600 and the 2600 pro

Oem
@cinder kiln i bought the alphacool stuff and parts to make a drain port in loop
â ď¸
It surprises me that this stuff still gets hella views
No clue if youâre able to stack Newegg giftcards
Especially the digital
Cause if you are, theoretically you can get a 7900 gre in Minnesota for only 300$.
Pulse model btw.
Cause youâd pay only with gift cards and since youâre getting $10 for only $5, basically cut the price in half. 580.3/2=290.15 and youâd need only 30 gift cards to finish the purchase.
Well more like 29 and just pay the 15 cents

Ah dang
Gotta sign in to buy too otherwise I was like maaaybe?
Unfortunately limit of one per customer
Oh that was alr said
@cinder kiln that's basically how much i paid for my mp33 back in 2023
Might go pickup that SSD later lol
Yay, just in time for no funds and no time. Gotta prep for a dam hurricane. đ đ
life gets in the way of deals
Aye. More often than not.
Oof. Hurricane season
One of the benefits of the West Coast is no hurricanes but the heat...
No hurricanes in exchange for forest fires, earthquakes, and landslides.
NorthEast coast supremacy
No earthquakes, forest fires, landslides, or tornadoes
Just some hurricane
Don't forget our monopolistic utility company that neglects to inspect and repair gas lines, resulting in an entire city's destruction
Every place has its issues.
And occasional flooding
We did in NE NY and Vermont
Rivers get too high and suddenly bridges are just gone
We had an entire road blocked off for a month once due to prolonged flooding.
Not in PA
No, you guys just have contaminated water supplies. Susquehanna go brrrr
Also, PA isn't inspiring the no flooding vibe, the one year I lived there the Lackawanna flooded
And then the roads flooded after getting six and a half in snow and one and a half inches of rain within the span of five days
I rember that one. The road right beside my dorm was a slurry so when I went to get pizza it just went everywhere
7600x is same price at amazon too
$390 13900k is pretty good as long as you get a non z board or limit the voltage
Logitech
$120 for a headphone/mic combo
Audio is wirelessly transmitted
$25 headphone audio quality
Got some z790 board for 110$ from newegg earlier too
So what youâre saying is yes
It is a pretty good deal
(sarcastic)
Kinda meh. Not the worst gaming headset. Meh tho
Pc38x beats it same price, hell koss porta pro would too if you just want accurate sound
Those are $40
iirc on that one audiophile tier list
They're like
C-
Or D+
Lol
One of the few I remember
Is there any tech deals for students atm?
Prime Day is soon, so naturally many other retailers will be doing similar events
I needs me some new storage, lets go HDD deals!
2.67 million TBW? huh?
Just a casual 2.67 exabytes written
Darn
The everest max that was $80 arrived in my city and was supposed to be delivered today but was canceled due to a pricing error
I might reach out via chat to see if they will honor their original price
Was going to buy the 65% for 20 but got the max instead. Now I missed out on both deals
If they refuse you can sue them since you're entitled to the lowest advertised price of a product
Seems like it was canceled for everyone who bought the product
From reddit, it seems like only some of the deals were honored. $10 keyboard from mountain arrived for some but $20 version after initial sale was canceled
I smell class action
đthis might be why many say they avoid shopping from newegg now
yeah my friend got it really bad from newegg
he ordered a 7900xtx from there, and it came with a broken pcie connector.
newegg refused to refund it, and deleted his acc
The supposed new date of delivery is the 12 and they arent connecting to the chat so i will wait until then and actually call them
Dang thats basically evil lmao
yeah it's really bad, I'll see if he can use the warrantee
Might be worth contacting GN, they'll chew out wegg again
Exactly. I'm not a Newegg employee, I can criticize them when it's warranted.
true that
I never really liked buying from newegg, since the first purchase that I made with them ended up getting shipped to an address in texas when it was supposed to arrive in minnesota
honestly my newegg experience is good lol bought tons of things from wegg without issue
Reaching out through their reddit support seems to be working so far
Ill see what they can do

Honestly their reddit support is really good. The reds were out of stock so i got the more expensive silent reds and was given $70 worth of eggpoints. Paid $5 more bc of the extra tax but that giftcard deal from before canceled it out. I even offered to do a satisfaction surveyđ
If i wanted to be scammy i prolly could have used those eggpoints elsewhere lol
I hate how nowadays you often have to go to social media to get support. At least reddit is better than twitter/X
Still not the old TikTok deals but pretty good nonetheless
3x the price I got my p41 plus for lol
The cpu and mobo are great deals
Could do a good value am5 igpu build with that
Ooh
There's teamgroup t create classic hynix for $60 after coupon

I don't think they'll bring back that price though, it's sad.
@marsh sphinx not a deal
12900ks was just 245, and 13600fk matches the 12900k in multi core, and slightly pulls ahead in single, and is $220
@void lance 405$ after code ztudiscord2024
Code works with open box producs only I think
W
how many times can you use the newegg buy $100 gift card, get $15 gift card? it says one per user customer, but it seems to load again
that's what i thought...also, if anybody missed yesterday, that $100/$85 link is back up and good (if not already noted)
@azure pond any ~$50 higher than 75hz monitors around?
Ah true true
i wonder why the victus deal got a downvote
if it's hp's reputation of crappy laptops
no, the victus is fine
hot garbo
you can't find a 4060 prebuilt for that little
let alone one that's not an oem rig
cpu is def very old tho, oof
overall it's a meh proposition
AT THIS POINT build it yourself
used 5600 + 6700xt = perfection
or a 3600
im aware as much
but ig if you're that desperate for a pc, it can sorta be worth it
but otherwise just build it yourself
no its not
js looking at the 4060's i7 that doesnt say the gen's pc
you can immedieately say its still on ddr3
yeah
đ
and the i3 14100f on the another one is booty ass cheeks
4 core in 2024
that's why i said it was meh
also can you explain the downvote on the hp victus?
i really wanna hear your opinion
you can always upgrade the ram
512gb SSD.
there are people that cant do that, end up wasting 100 dollar on replacement, 100 dollar on shipping and 100 dollar repair
still a pretty garbo card
and opening up a laptop isn't hard
you can still live with 512gb
its also incredibly thin which Is sure going to have great thermals!
please, check reviews before commenting on laptops
also, poorly mounted hinges!
the victus has decent thermals
hinges that are solid enough
etc
with decent batt life due to zen 4
other laptops with 4050, 8gb of ram and 512 gigs ssd are 699+ atm
but in the end the opinion is yours, i merely wanted to hear it after all
Also its 979 original price what the fuuuuuuuu
4050 isn't a bad card, especially for laptops
there are no bad cards
omfg
it's fairly efficient for the kinda perf it offers, and according to 3dmark time spy, it churns out scores matching 1080 desktop
which matches 3060 laptop
do you not see the gigantic red flag
because honestly 6gb is fine
and 4050 is a lower tier than 3060
so like it performing like a higher tier card while being on cheaper laptops
it's great
3060 laptop is like 400 used
