Try carrying a UPS in your carryon bag and tell me how that goes
got bail money to spare?
They'll just confiscate it if anything
Unless you try to swing it at someone because that would make a handy blunt weapon
The Weird Plane People: "You can't bring a UPS in cuz its a fire hazard"
You: "I plan to use it as a blunt weapon so therefore it's not a fire hazard. Let me pass plz"
The Weird Plane People: "Okay you can pass"
Alternatively, bring one with a lead-acid battery. You'll break your back with how heavy it is and never make it to the plane from how slow you're moving but you can argue the battery size rule only applies to Lithium ions.
Oh and if you bring a big enough bank of lead acid batteries you might get a full 30 minutes run time out of your computer!
Have fun bringing that to class, on a train, on a bus, on a plane lmao
Honestly I've seen better deals on Amazon.de in terms of specs but I'll think about it thanks
Alright, that's possible yeah i didn't really look in germany actually
Im going away for school and I don’t want to buy this mainly bc I have a beast pc but its hard to bring that on the plane. I tried to look for gpu enclosures but they’re pricey and have psu I don’t need. Any ideas?
Well you would actually need the psu to power the gpu if you're using an enclosure, honestly for travel, laptops are easiest
It's really pointless to build a mini pc to travel with, it's so much harder and the downsides outweigh the benefits 99% of the time for 99% of people
I do have a psu already that’s why I said I didn’t need it
Laptop it is then, gentlemen. Thank you
did you guys not understand it was a joke? 😭
it just didnt have any basis or to be funny tho
It was very unclear. What went through my mind was that you thought you found a good deal, but you also thought it could be a bomb PSU.. almost like you didn't check the tier list before posting.
I wouldn’t of mentioned the tier of the PSU if I didn’t check it
but I did
plus we know that B+ is usually safe and reliable for builds
C is risky, D and F are literal hazards
And that's what made it unclear. You mentioned it being a btier, but then threw out "bomb?" Like you weren't sure
😭 oh my
😛
That's more of a gen 3.5 drive but still good deal
Rebates sux anyways
funny. When I got my psu, it came with a $10 rebate for an msi gift card, never got anything (or my mom just threw it out)
As with any rebate you need to follow up. There's a rebate status page you can check that'll tell you if it was approved and how long it'll be, estimated ofc
Oh yeah. I've had to follow up on my rebates. Sometimes several times on the same rebate.
Yes some companies will drag their feet hoping you forget about the rebate while they hold it up for some arbitrary reason
I don't need it I don't need it I don't need it
I got mine for $25 on amazon w/o a rebate
It's gone on sale on amazon two separate times, it wouldn't be surprising to me if it happens again
Stoooop
@fair moon
I think I have to
When do you guys think we'll hit bottom on these SSDs because they just keep going down
Is the p5 better than the spatium from yesterday
2tb for less than 1
It’s gunna be like $15 ez np
P5 plus is cool but i really don't notice a difference from my sn550
Tbh I thought we hit bottom when it was at 60 usd
P5 plus is like just under a 980 pro
Probably 20-25/tb
How's that compare to the msi spatium
It’s great compared to it
The m450? P5 plus is better
M450 is like a gen3.5 drive
Ok that's what I figured but wanted to make sure
Ordered one, thanks
Yes
If I hasn't just gotten the m450 which I already didn't need I'd be buying one
@tiny bane if you want to post a tech deal you have to give the actual link not a redirection, and its tech deals, journeys doesnt count since its clothing
Shoulda held out like me lol
i mean msi has everything as the lowest
I wonder what the profit margin on a $30 nvme is
It's getting hilariously close to HDD $/tb prices now
you think about it, msi has like some of the cheapest lower graphic cards then here’s their ssd
They're decent ssd's tho, they're mp33 tier
AIOs, boards, and a few other things are expensive though
If only man
Msi does have some cheap gpus but it's the ventus/mech which is considered a pretty poor design
We're already seeing them regularly hit $30/tb
What I wanna see is like, that crucial P5 for the same, maybe 25$
Well I saw
From a few retailers too. Gamestop and I think MC also
and I missed it...
I mean you can go for the p5 instead of m450 for the price of (a slightly expensive) coffee
Worth noting that's the official zotac ebay store which is why they will honor full warranty
They have other good stuff in their store like a $295 3070
$435 3080, yeah lots of good stuff
why it shows 110$ to me
It shows $120 to me, wtf

But yeah seems that sale is over maybe
The 1TB is up to $55 again
Or maybe it was a pricing error and they meant to do the P5 non-plus at that price
I bought p5 plus for 80$ from amazon before . it was business pricing only tho
Regular P5 looks to be discontinued, it's not on their site and only third parties have it now. I'm still betting on a price error, like they meant to do a clearance sale but goofed and didn't notice the right model was already deleted.

I assume the p5 is fine without a heatsink as long as there's decent case airflow?
For casual use? Almost certainly
Seconded
These are kinda cool though https://www.amazon.com/Heatsink-Cooler-PCIE-Cooling(Black-Pieces)/dp/B082VTVP51
It'll only become a problem if you're copying 200GB from one nvme to another
Cloning my old SSD over would be more than that
Yeah - if you do that every day, get a heatsink. Won't hurt the drive or anything, probably just a bit slower
The nand is happier hot anyway
Yeah not everyday just once
The controller will throttle itself at 90c or something
It'll just throttle if it needs to, if you're only doing that once or twice don't worry
Yeah
Cheapest liquid cooling setup ever
If you burn yourself it might become more expensive though
yeah my bad was looking at womens
7600+mobo is same price
Also 18% faster in games tho
It's as much faster in single core as it is slower in multi core... why is that slightly but multi core is major lol
what about 13600k
I understand amd is more of single core gaming, while intel is all multi core
Btw can you link combo ?
multi ofc 13600k obliterates
13600k is all around better
5995wx
7600 is 13600k single core, 13600k beats 12700k in multi core
13600k is indeed better, just not as cheap
even with one of cheapest mobo option it still expensive
7600 is normally $200, and won't need a cooler this way so $35 saved on that could get you a better mobo too https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Dnwy6r
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600
That's not even close to the cheapest option
Need to go a620m my guy
And pretty sure 7600 is $200 on ebay new
a620m is cheap and still decent
A620M is like, X570 class of quality on the good boards
I don't looking for a620 mobo lol and it's one of chepest b650 mobo . if you want atx mobo you have to go like 200$
it's am5, all boards overbuilt
Don't let the chipset name fool you
K
unless it's the heatsinkless
There's still the HDV
B650m hdv is one of the best b650's and it's 125
Lmfao
it's not crap bro
Doesn't matter what you're getting
It has nothing to do with your personal preferences
that board can take 7950x3d with no fuss
Ur talking to a bunch of people who put aesthetics last in a pc build
Money in pocket >>>>>>>
Functionally that board is as good as the best b650's
it looks bland but works
And 7600 isn't 200$ even at eBay
I'm all for spending money on asthetics if that's your thing, but talking price for what you get, the 12700k combo just plain is not great
It was from antonline, but I guess not anymore
Was . Alright I seen good priced amd combos as well but now I just looking at todays prices
Jfc the gaming x is 100$???
God damn am5 boards now cost as much as am4

ram is also like only $90 or so for 32gb

$70 if tuned
Because 12100f is for budget builds, 12400f for in between and 7600/7800x3d for most else
The vrms might look the way they do but do remember that zen 4 is efficient
Why it have 2 chips without heatsink at top lol
5700X officially dead with that gaming x
5600 is the last bastion
It's been for a while tbh
With 12600k at $193 and 13400f around $200
And cheap b660s/b760s around $100
I mean it really doesn't matter when you have 8 stages down the side
B760m ds3h ax was nice with 13400f when it was $100
Yeah also 12400f was 170$ last week
Also newegg had 12600k + asrock z690 combos for like 260$ for few weeks
maybe those combos gonna come back again
12400f is basically dead to me rn
Ehhh
It's basically same price as 5600 now
Imo no point in going 5600 over 12400f anymore
Fair enough
4500 is also $75 and that's a renamed 3600
Which is nice for super budget builds
i miss $60 boards
It's close but 5600 is like barely better cos the platform lol
Like $60 a520 with one and 6600 would be fine for a budget builds
Or used gpu
You can also go prime b450m a ii for 80 as well with 5600
Ignore that one
The am5 hdv is the only hdv you should love
i prefer pro rs am5
It's quite literally the embodiment of minimum b650 spec
3 ssd slots on a620m
And minimum b650 spec is super overkill
For AMD I wouldn't go for cheap mobo and cooler honestly. 7600x is hot boi . it cools down with 360aio
huh?
Eh
7600x is easy to cool
Disagree
and it sips power
Even the x3d am5 cpus can run on cheap coolers
ye
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 4500, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Cougar MX330 ATX Mid Tower
The ihs is thick af so therefore cooling is limited by itself
Whether you run a 360 aio or stock cooler on a 7600x you get the same results
X3d and non X ones have better power draw and cools better but older ones are heating as hell
It's cool you can get performance similar to ps5/Xbox series x at $550 now
doesn't apply for the 7600x
Eco mode exists
Frankly eco mode and co you get the same results as stock on 88W
Or 90? Or whatever the metric is
This is the hilarious thing about am5
That ihs will be the crutch for the platform's whole life
lol yeah
So by thermal design it's gonna work with cheap boards and stock coolers for it's whole life
for the sake of fitting am4 mounts
spicy am5 chips they were
And it runs by design with a throttle management of 95C
reason I not building 7600x with cheap cooler is customer may reset bios later
Zen 5 is gonna be interesting in that it has to show gains without any tricks
Still runs on a cheap cooler
With 120 aio 7600x hits 95C
120 aios sucks anyway
240MM like 80-85C and with 360mm it staying under 80C
360 is hilariously overkill for a 200$ cpu
doesn't mean they're hot
You're spending $100+ for a 200$ cpu
I've a 420 on my pentium
temps are just a number as long as the cpu is working optimally
Fire
Btw I got 2 doa 7600x recently so I'm just not huge fan of 7600x lol
Insert intel 330W joke
I have it at 9.2ghz single core, so it's at 18.4 ghz multi core, obviously
17v
I don't remember I got any doa cpu before
like my laptop has diff temp limits with different modes
silent is at 85c or so i think
performance and turbo 95
I've had 3 dead 12th gen cpus in my hands

DOAs are annoying but they're very smol percentage
Yeah one 7600x was giving dram error . Tried it with 3 different mobo and ram kits and result were same. Another one had no any life. Cpu and dram light on and no boot
Rip popcorn
Statistically CPUs have the lowest RMA rate out of every component in the system
Just shows how your luck is I guess
Yeah it doesn't have lots of components that can fail often so
. All you have to do is test your die and ship it
Only few smd components around
That's cuz you destroy them

@high radish What coupon, I don't see it on that page
it's at 12700k page . Wait I'll add it
Coupon for 12600k, 12700k and 12900k can be applied to any combos as well
Coupons are one time use as well
Nice, $70 off makes that a decent offering
Yeah also pretty good mobo
Can be used for white build
I think it's alright if I put my referral link there
The line's kinda blurry there. I've seen it ruled both ways by the same person so I don't know any more.
I mean it's same product link just with referral
I don't think would bothers someone
The original rule was if it's an inline referral that you don't need to interact with then it's fine.
Then the same person later had us delete a referral that followed that rule.
Anyways if it's against rules just let me know. I will delete referral part
edited. great deal just for maybe someone like me to sell a 12400 or such and decent upgrade for $30ish net. btw I snagged the 12700K combo and small correction mobo is Force model. $70ish for that cpu alone is pretty nice huh. Now to decide on ram. I'm really lost on ddr5 stuff but perhaps ? https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr5-sdram/p/N82E16820374364
Oh let me correct it
it was 85$ yesterday
it's 90$now
I'll keep that 1 in mind, thnx. It's neat how some 1.25v kits aren't far behind many 1.3-1.35v kits. ddr5 prices also sure goes modest quick.
What is the best laptop under $500 . Sister needs one for basic web use and light graphic design
If dgpu isn't needed this is decent https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-300/ideapad-slim-3-(15”-amd)/82xm000dus?orgRef=https%253A%252F%252Fout.reddit.com%252F&clickid=XGawgUQzBxyNWP1VA615nSEoUkF1pC31uVpMT00&irgwc=1&PID=2377341&acid=ww%3Aaffiliate%3Abv0as6&cid=us%3Aaffiliate%3Acxsaam
ww-single-model-laptops-default
Sorry for long links I'm on mobile and don't feel like dealing with it
Only $45 cheaper unless I'm missing something
Definitely snag the ideapad
Oh only 8gb ram :/
Thank you!
That's a fabulous cpu deal

Great ram kit. Only the vulcan 5600 c32's or the tcreate 5600 jedecs would really be a better buy
$85 and $77 respectively
So for $91 that's a really good choice, in white too
With the gskill heatsink that works, not the trident z heat trap nonsense
Im saving up for new pc lol, I should be good in about a month. However, is it wise to buy something now or should I wait for next gen graphic cards?
Buy when you need, otherwise you will just spent forever waiting
Mid year sales have passed and black friday/cyber monday is a long way out
With the way sales cycle rn you'd be better off just starting while you need it
Pc parts are reasonably priced rn
There’s new crap always coming out so unless there’s just something literally right around the corner it’s best to just go ahead
I'd say if anything, wait for specific gpus to go on sale again if you were looking out for a 6950xt, 7900XT or 7900XTX
But apart from those three, everything else is about as cheap as it gets rn
Even PSUs are starting to creep back down again
just like you
What is the question
7700x
really?
Motherboard does not affect performance
Not unless it's so bad it vrm throttles the cpu
Which neither of those will do
The 12900k has similar gaming perf to the 7600
i see
Loses at times to it
i just made my friend buy the 12900k bundle 🥲
I mean, it's fine
Not like the cpu is bad
Then you made the right choice
🥰
I found two deals, but I'm uncertain of one.
https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-000E-14NK6?Item=9SIBMYNJXK1360
https://www.newegg.com/quiet-blue-asus-viewbook-pro-m6500qh-db51-everyday-value/p/1TS-001A-07N33R?Item=1TS-001A-07N33R
The description for the Lenovo ThinkPad T560 says it has RTX 3050, but the fastest GPU listed on Lenovo's website is the NVIDIA GeForce 940MX.
The VivoBook Pro 15 is the one I trust more, because I've found other listings with GTX 1650.
Please don't buy that
Which one?
The 1650 one is OK but$600 and fairly often cheaper gets you a3050 laptop
The VivoBook on Newegg says $498.99.
That's a 1650 tho
One sec
I'll try to find something around the $500-550 budget
This will need more ram, but https://www.ebay.com/itm/394783617216?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=voj3rzwwr32&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=r8em-zv_qyc&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Ram is easy to add
That second one tho damn
Feeling impulsive I wanna buy something but have no idea what to buy
What do I even need
Kill the impulse
buy ddr3
Buy me a bday present 💝
Well yeah when you strap a bunch of cinebench accelerators e-cores in where a regular core usually goes, that happens
This is..
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6650 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
tempting.
gf1 snow is a tier, gf3 is btier
B tier is perfectly acceptable for that tier of build. Even C tier would be fine.
true, though would the b660 asrock pro rs be better than that msi refrub?
No Z690 will have unlocked overclocking, you'll want that with a K processor
If anything I'd go faster on the memory, $5 goes a long way there for a 4000 kit
KF works perfectly fine right? F is just no igpu?
Correct
ight
this isn't 5$ more?
Yeah it's another step up lol
This one's $11 more https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dYXJ7P/patriot-viper-elite-ii-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-4000-cl20-memory-pve2432g400c0k
ah
issue is
this is for my cousin.
I doubt he'd even learn about OCing
Part List - Intel Core i5-12600KF, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
Should I keep it as a 6650xt or a 6700xt?
The 6700 XT is a fair bit better, and should last longer thanks to the increased memory capacity
If saving money is the goal a Ryzen 5600 build would have identical gaming performance
eh, it just looked super sweet at 750$ was all.
In that case you could check out this $330 refurb 2080 ti, sold by zotac with warranty https://www.ebay.com/itm/385651440586
It beats the 6700 XT
Even the 6750
250$ one in my area
EVGA xc3 ultra
Nice deal
been listed for 15 weeks
Oof that's not a good sign lol
I'll just leave this here https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7NnHxH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
More isn't always better
It's also on an open air chassis with an evga dark mobo so it's either an overclocker or a wannabe
probably wannabe but otherwise that 2080ti looks good? ask for benches maybe?
also when you say the 5600 build has equal performance to the 12600kf build, you mean by cpu and gpu or?
The 5600 is equal to the 12600k in gaming when using DDR4, and either will match well with any of the GPUs we've talked about
Yeah ask for a time spy bench and make sure they're willing to meet in person in a public area
DDR5 gives the 12600k a slight edge in some games, but yes that's pretty much "get a 7600" point because the 7600 games like a 13700k
ah
Bacca
-- indeed even cheaper for anyone else w/ prime card & 5% back ($7.50ish).
Oh lmao sorry
Is the amd cpu+gpu connection worth changing from an Intel cpu to amd?
No lol .you can use intel cpu with amd GPU without any issue
No, there is no difference
Especially with a 12900k paired with a 6600, your cpu is fine with a 4080 at 1440p and 4090 at 4k, you should definitely upgrade your gpu first
Tysm, I was worried I was about to chase a <5% upgrade for like $500
Yeah definitely not
That $500 would be way better spent on a 6800xt or 3080 open box from zotac
3080 there
Be ready for loudass fans of zotac 3080
$500 is still $500
I mean, first time in what, nearly a year? That we have a proper source with a worthy 3080 price
ye
Who cares if it's loud imo
whatever aib it is, it doesn't matter
I’m running 13900k/7900xtx, works perfectly fine
Everytime when I use zotac 3080 or 3090 for build I feel like it's gonna explode lol its fans running loud as hell lol it works alright tho but bit louder than others
im confused with your description but okie
Can someone help me shop for a gaming laptop? Preferably around $1000 or less.
Best buy is usually the best place
Thanks. I just don’t know what’s a good deal or not
Under 1000 you'd be looking at probably 12th or 13th gen i5/i7, or Ryzen 6000 or 7000 R5/R7
3060/3070/4060/4050 nvidia or amd 7600/6800
16gb ram
1080p or 1440p 144hz
If you can match all of those criteria, chances are it's very good
Try not to hyper focus on brands. A lot of the current gen laptops are pretty good
Save maybe like, Razer
Avoid razer
I’ll go look
No worries
avoid gigabyte g5 too
ones with 13th gen intel cpus
they're inferior to last year's release
Ok thanks
oh and i forgot
msi too, since they use insanely low wattage gpus with single fan cooling
ofc
the single fan is fine
but i can't get over the fact that even katana series lacks second m.2 slot
or it either has it in a very weird place with no place to mount screw
Wot
It has a second slot
It even has a sata 2.5 slot
Oh maybe the newer ones don't?
well i meant the newer ones

the 12/13th gen+40 series
I haven't looked at the newer stuff
msi did funky stuff
no
Damn that was fast
it's got 3050ti
Nah
3050 Ti laptops make sense for like
$600 budgets
Not $1000
If at that, more like $550 but the world ain't kind like that
2023 katana 17
it has second m.2 slot but
see any mounts?
none
gotta diy or bust
Double sided sticky tape
Wtf is that
Wtf is what?
Sata gone
msi being weird
you can see why i hate msi so much this gen
What’s a reasonable price of 3060 gaming laptop?
750-ish
severely power limited
Idk depends on the cpu with it @mint ravine
and cpu never goes above 45w
what it excles is in battery life due to its severely low tdp
Alr you've made a convincing argument to me foxy
I should show you the 2021 katana
Wayyy better
yep 2021 katana way better
why did msi even do this
they're cheapest gamer laptops out there but jesus
I'll be the judge of that
Me
WTFFF
Please don't buy that
Too much
oh boy
Damn
welp i gotta really look for that laptop for 1k
$100 more gets you a 4070
https://www.ebay.com/itm/385611135972?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Ok6NaWEKSPa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=r8em-zv_qyc&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Or you can get a laptop that's just as good for much less
Or a better laptop (4060) for cheaper or same price
Liquid metal should be fine
dell g16 4050 is also attractive tho
sorry g15 but still should be gud
ram will need upgrade tho
There's also this one, not as good specs-wise compared to the strix, but still good https://www.ebay.com/itm/204370273893?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=RlNVfTa9TVu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=rfwtaxojsdg&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I'd either get that g15 foxy linked or the 4070 asus tuf I linked
sorry but i think we're only looking for new laptops
Thanks for the help
I'm not going to post used stuff
Is it hard to upgrade the ram?
not really
That's a very good one
you have to unscrew the bottom panel
As long as it's not the dell, no
and a smol dent on lid
Not much of an issue imo
Any recommendation of a good ram I should buy?
4060 12450h $1000
Budget, country, what cpu do you have
Those scratches look like marks from the keyboard
single fan, 45w gpu
Ye, but a good bit better gpu perf for similar price is pretty worth it imo...
Hm
A simple 4800mhz 16gb stick is fine
Cheapest you can find really
doesn't dell have service manual for g15 too
I didn't even realize that was the same dude who's asking about laptops
I'm smart
Lmao mb
All g all g
@cinder kiln which of the two laptops you sent is better?
they're all good
well ignore gigabyte tbh, still meh
better to get dell g15 or zephyrus
Probably the zephyrus tbh
funny thing is
Actually that dell is decent too
40 series gigabyte g5's got rid of mux
Wat
Any good gaming laptops for <$400?
Maybe used
Unless those marks on the screen isn't dust
That's what I need help with
It really looks like keyboard marks tho
They're scratches I think
They remind me of the same marks on my old razer from the keyboard
It looks very similar
They came off with a good clean
Thanks for the help everyone
G14 zeph has just been a decent buy for a long time tho
Did anyone's 12700k + z690 force order shipped out ?
My 12900k orders has been shipped but newegg keeping my 12700k orders on hold
not bad, not as nice for the tuf with the 12700h deal tho
Can I ask in general is 4050 or a 3060 better?
@stoic crest would this ram work for the dell g15? https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-vengeance-16gb-1pk-16gb-4800mhz-ddr5-c40-sodimm-laptop-memory-black/6516932.p?skuId=6516932&ref=212&loc=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-ORIjEfymKjmYxtKR8d8QwTP3iI&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIivbz09DQgAMV-BezAB0q7ApdEAQYASABEgLArvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
It’s 40 bucks
Shucks, $350 3080 gone in minutes
$220 for rtx 2080
shucks
Why are these deals popping up when I'm broke
Z20 for $40 on b-stock
Meh
yes it will work
arent you always broke
I spend all my money on food

That 7800x3d is nice. I find it annoying that newegg is selling the 5800x3d for only $30 less as a "shell shocker", yet both are marked down from the same original price
The 5800x3d should've been that price for a long time
If not lower
7600 still clocks in cheaper with overall better parts and perf
Kinda wanna get the 12600KF while it’s $150 but unsure if it’s worth it on a Z790
Tempting
Quite decent tbh
12600KF or 2070 Super?
My guy that's like asking me if I want meat or veggies

I want both
yea, saw some reddit msgs of held orders.
Z790 mobo already, interesting. Current gpu & cpu is what? I will say $155ish 12600kf is pretty solid overall. 12700k(f) now is another $60ish.
Ordinarily I would say the 2070 super since classic goated gpu
but at the same time, that cpu is spicy
gpu new or B-Stock?
B-stock
another version of refurbished I believe
Just stuff they have that is damaged but still meets factory specs
Not necessarily damaged, but used & returns (also).
hmm, are you planning on swapping cpu too soon?
I think you'll sooner change the 2070 than the 12600k
Imo 12600k
Because for your use case I'd imagine you'd benefit from a better gpu instead of a better cpu
And 12600k for half the price of 13600k is definitely far better price/perf
Also, 2070s hybrid is a lil silly
I'd take the reliability of an air cooled gpu at that tier of gpu over a hybrid any day of the week
Even just a 3060 ti (used) now isn't much more than that 2070S also
Youd def be better off with 12600k+ 6950xt like you were planning
Or 6800xt or 3080 off zotac ebay open box
Once oc 2070super is the same thing lol
It's probably for his gfs pc
Let's you play your older games without issues like you were initially worried about
It isn't
Gotcha
Not if both oced
Pffff
My 3060 ti gets very close to a stock 3070
SHHH
13200 on timespy
Maybe 13100?
I got an Intel cpu as my timespy gpu score
Btw chillin there was a while I hadn't seen you here, you doing good?
How about you? Working & gaming a lot. I'm debating getting the $156 12600KF & resell the 12700K, plus maybe sell cpu in username.
I've been gaming a lot less actually, I've been spending a lot of time with my partner as they stay at my house a lot of the time
But overall pretty good
I got an old DS that works perfectly, I'm gonna look at getting pokemon games for it since I never got to play them before
First time having a DS lol. Also got a Gameboy advance, both for free
Right on. Funny I say a lot, but actually only a couple hours each day from like 10pm to midnight. Ah, I had old school gameboys and pokemon games a while back. Need to get a DS or such and try em again. Good stuff.
I’m 90% sure there was non-hybrid 2070 Supers
But I just liked the water cooled gimmick
Just checked, yeah same price
But why is a hybrid 1080 $150?
Nice
Is it the DS with a Gameboy slot in it or not?
Is the 7800x 3D worth selling the used 7900x?
?
Like does it perform that much better?
7800x3d performs i think 20% better in games?
unless you have 7900xtx, 4080, or 4090 I wouldn't go from 7900x to 7800x3d
even then, only if you're playing at 1440p and really care about the difference between 200 fps and 240 fps (random numbers, but you get the point)
I was thinking about selling my 9900k to go to 7800x3d
😂upgraded so many times this summer I’m once again bottlenecked by my gpu
Unsure how much of a jump that’d be though
I should probably get a 1440p monitor ASAP once I get my 6950 XT
I look like a loser at 1080p
I want a ultra wide 1440p monitor but not curved
Curved seems so disorienting
It's a lot better for your eyes in the long run
Big
That's just not been proven lol
I hate curved it feels unnatural and looks distorted
It depends on the angle you look at it, the size of the screen, and the degree of curve
Most of the time brands will use curved as a gimmick to sell bad panels more easily
Angel*
I don't know what angels you're looking at but I haven't seen any curved ones, just nightmarish abominations
In my experience your eyes adjust to it after a little while
With curved you actually see things more natural if you sit at right position lol
I doubt it's better (or worse) for your eyes but it does provide a more consistent viewing angle across the panel
For ultrawide you should probably get curved
Idk if they even make flat uw but the far left/right would look weird without a curve
Only reason I not getting oled panel because there's no 4k ultrawide curved oled panel lol
Choose A Monitor
After using odyssey G9 I can't get used to flat panel again
There's 21:9 flat monitors but idk what's purpose lol
You probably need to move.your chair to check edges
My 32” screen is curved and now when looking at a my smaller 24” screen I wish it was curved lol
I can’t imagine using something even bigger and not have it curved. There’s a reason movie theater screens have a curve to them
I've played both of this week's free games before and they're both definitely fun games
Thinking about it I can wait until next week’s paycheck and buy 13600K over 12600KF
Contemplating what would be a better pick for a UD AX Z790
13600K is about $320 and 12600KF is about $150
the single thread isn't hugely different
for $170 cheaper I'd 100% choose the 12600kf
hell at $150 I'd choose it over 7600 at $200
And with a 2070 super for 220
Oh then yeah 3080
Also don't forget about newegg combos if you didn't get mobo
wait for next gen since youre so close but 7800x3d if just gaming, if not 13700k or 7950x depends on your needs
I forget, is next gen intel a refresh or was this gen?
14th gen is raptor refresh
Just gaming, 7800x3d
Refresh is a refresh, .2ghz more lol
Core diff too
I got the motherboard but it'd be cool if I could find a combo with a CPU and RAM
For 13700 and 13900
Much different from a non-Ti?
i think less
12gb is basically a 3080ti
Thought 3080ti was like 3090 with less vram
But
Isn't 3080 12gb
The same 3080 core
Nope
Money
yes
Real
12900k with 6600 goes crazy
Ikr that was the first thing I saw too haha
Runs pretty nice
I won it for free
Oh
Real
I bought myself an i3 12100 + 6600 RX combo and a month later won the Asrock 20th birthday
That's some combo asrock
Don't get me wrong I love free stuff but between the 12900k, z690 Taichi Razer and ddr5 6000 ram and the 6600rx, one of these things is not like the other
Psht, whatever like you'd understand
Uh
hair flip
Sick
Rvu is top tier though. They have some goodies.
Oh yeah some razer stuff is great, like their mice for sure
I've owned a lot of it tho and there's definitely a lot of passes
I have this razer kraken tournament edition headset since covid
40$, one of the clearest headset mics you’ll get for that price during covid
only issue i have with it is actually nothing of the headset itself, only racers software
Best buy had a wireless razer headset for $35 at one point, it was one of the best wireless headsets you could get at that price

@tepid vector try a different channel or in here instead of tech deals
Did your order shipped ?
That's my pic up there, lol.
My 12900k orders shipped but 12700k orders didn't shipped out
Both says On hold
and newegg rep said they're going to cancel
Since it's price error
Yea the 12700K thing is wild. Few people saying order on hold or canceled & reps saying price error. At the least, $70 coupon was a mess up on top of the price. No doubt my luck was nice for a change
One 12900K combo with coupon delivered today
another one is delayed probably duo tornado mess . But 12700k and mobos didn't shipped out. Had ordered with and without coupon but none of.them shipping out somewhy
That's pretty cool
????
There was a spammer
ah. ok, fal
Ah you got it fal, ty
Warpig that's a good one order at least. $66ish above 12700K combo is mighty decent I'll say. Still wondering about swapping down to $156 12600KF but probably not the time/energy. Extra 2 Pcores will be nice
I'd keep that 12700k couse 12600kf + mobo alone still being expensive than this combo lol
You're right probably better to keep both. Pretty rockin mobo too.
White ram ya think?
Yea & this is 1 that didn't even have a ddr4 version made afaik.
@azure pond, okay soooooo
I have a stupid question
Do places like Best Buy do price checks from online stores like Amazon and such
Yea you can price match at best buy
So what should I say
Their website says the 13600K is $340
You just show them the cheaper price on Newegg or amazon
On Amazon and Newegg it’s $320
Yup
Only reason I’m asking is because it’d just be easier for me to buy the chip in store and not have to rely on a family member and shipping
Kinda why I’m also lenient towards the 13600K right now
I hate debit card spending limits
Opinions on this? I know it's still a single tower cooler so it won't be much better than 214xt and other thermalright single tower coolers, but considering they're all within $3 of eachother is this better? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BTpQzy/thermalright-assassin-x-120-refined-se-plus-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-ax120r-se-plus-d6
This has a 5th pipe btw for $19.29 -- 2nd fan on a single tower doesn't do too much, especially if a rear case fan is nearby to exhaust air.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9Gstt6/thermalright-assassin-king-se-argb-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-ak120-se-argb-d6
You could take the second fan off and use it as a case fan
Idk if it would work well as a case fan or not but for budget builds it would be good value
Not from Amazon but from Newegg they will
They'll do Amazon at my store, as long as it's sold and shipped by Amazon and they'll include any shipping cost in the match
It’s like a $20 up charge from what I saw
$340 at Best Buy and $320 on Amazon/Newegg
It would afaik it's a c12c fan
@azure pond you can find similar pcs to those on eBay for 40 bucks or even less sometimes, I got a hp for 40€ i5 4th gen, 500gb hdd and 8gb ddr3
That's a good point
Yippee
The fact you can get a decent B760M board and 12600KF for that price is wild
Asus P doesn’t stand for prime, it stands for poopy
you certainly don’t wanna buy Asus caca
You know it's funny someone would call that a bundle, when it's the same price as buying the same parts separately https://pcpartpicker.com/list/r4Tb8J
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
there’s cheaper for better 💀
won’t look pretty, but 99% of the time it’s either the other parts, the monitor itself, or the rgb your looking at.
holy crap, that monitor deal
Never heart that monitor brand
neither have i, doesnt say panel type anyway might be TN but still decent price
max of 144hz, with a supposed/advertised 4 ms in over drive with a base of 12ms for response. ofc they don’t match up with how actually slow it is but still.
Oh I'm blind lol
That 1440p panel is tempting

Just fyi to whoever is buying a refurb board, it'll most likely function fine but I'd expect something to be damaged
I got a refurb z690 a pro and the headless flashback button was broken
Ngl, that’s a really good deal
but it doesn’t say what grade of refurbish it is
but hey that’s what’s warranty for, accidentally bent a pin? just say it came like that
That z690 tomahawk is gooood deal. Solid solid Mobo.
If I had the extra funds.. I'd nab 1 or 2.
To mention.. I was able to get a daily stable 5.4p 4.2e on a 12600k on the tomahawk.
are any of these worth it?
g14 and g16 are the ones worth getting the most
this one only has satisfactory for 810.99
would you recommend that or either the g14/g16
i'd personally get it as new, the g14 with 3060
may i ask which has better performance 3060 or 4050?
ok thanks
i prefer 4050 but 3060 could be better sometimes
less efficient but it has wider vram bus width
but on other hand, the cpu advantage of 40 series laptops does make up for the deficiency
what about this one? should i get it if its open box excellent for 768.99?
that's pretty nice too
open box excellent for 768 is great
needs ram upgrade but that's nothing too difficult
It's an aight laptop
Screen is the worst part of it though since it's the 120hz version
what about the other laptops i sent? any comments on the other 4?
It will have a bit of weird latency when gaming and you won't be able to see super clear in bright light unless you turn on varibright
Oh it's Intel varibright doesn't apply
how come? i dont understand the specs...
ohh
is it heavier on gpu even if i dont play anything but just school work and other programming apps?
How’s this one?
